For any obstacle / bunker and game layout design make sure that it is both attackable & defendable Its a common flaw to design defences to be defended. For example if you make a fort building then leave big wide open doorways on at least two sides and the back of towers exposed.4 points -

I had a look at that but where I got 'P-Chan' at a really good price, there's no chance I can get the VP for less than £300. 😒 She'd see right through it and know I really bought it for myself. And what should be a "Cheers honey. That's really thoughtful." would probably become a "You spent HOW MUCH? On a pink toy gun?!" 😆2 points -

Ha! As if... Here's a true story: When I joined these boards 15 years ago, my username was 'Bison Hunter' because I desperately wanted an airsoft Bison (Bizon). I even got a guy here (Matt Bond) to make me a custom one out of a Beta Spetsnaz. I eventually left the hobby and came back this year, now my lad's old enough to play. I was gutted to find I'd missed the Bizon train. So when my wife said she wanted a pink SMG, I found that exact gun, on that exact listing... and was gutted all over again to have missed it. It's great to know it's still in service and has had some new makeup. Small world. Turns out the P90 I got her is from an animé called Gun Gale Online, a spin-off of Sword Art Online and thanks to Netflix, it's our new family TV series... educational AND pink. 😁2 points -
5 looks ideal for a kill house: Clear out the trees, build a grid frame system of ‘rooms’, put up boards as the walls. Ideally leave an open doorway in every wall ( so each ‘room’ has entrances in every direction ) Then close off some the doorways either by semi permanently screwing them in place, or hang them on hooks so they can be rearranged If possible build some overhead walkways/observation platforms - that way you can have staff watching overhead to run the game and oversee for safety, plus have a couple on the ground to run in for an emergency OSB wood panels should work for a kill house wall system (cut some windows etc for variation) Check pallets for condition - you don’t want customers getting large splinters from rough pallets, or a part broken panel snapping Also check their nails - you don’t want a customer to get embedded onto a rusty 6” nail. Where practical remove loose nails & replace with screws Avoid using pallets as temporary floors, boots will go through and ankles will get trapped Consider covering pallets with hessian sheeting / sacks as obstacles Check tyres for condition. If old tyres are worn unevenly then the underlining wire will be exposed2 points

I don't trust those online translators any more, tried to send a Welsh mate a birthday message, let's just say if he hadn't been a mate, he'd have given me a slap lol. I think there's some vindictive people behind some of the "apps" on the net, just out for shitz and giggles 🤣2 points -

I was also at the shift your rifts event both days. Ran my new ww1 kit on the Saturday. I need to get a proper canvas holster for the webley, but they are currently out of stock, plus I am struggling to find decent, comfortable replica or lookalike "ammo" boots that don't cost stupid amounts of money, so I just used my spare work boots, but other than that, I'm happy with the way it looks (Also, no idea why the last photo keeps uploading on its side... on my phone its upright and nothing I do will change its orientation)2 points

Great Day at The Department CQB/Extreme Airsoft, Leicester.
Arrkon31 reacted to AngelusKarl77 for a topic
Went over to The Department for the first time yesterday after a 2 year hiatus thanks to injury and the dreaded C-19. Had a superb day, the site is great with excellent facilities. Staging areas are big with plenty of space and surfaces for prep etc. The staff were great, very professional but not dull. The game modes were what we are all used to but didn't feel stale, and the game arena itself is large, with plenty of nooks and crannies and some nice choke points... my only critisism would be the spawn point that is near the arena entrance is a bit tricky to get out of if the other team manage to get the whole team back to spawn. As a whole it was great to get back into battle at a welcoming place that's well looked after and staffed. Just highlighted the loss of fitness over the last couple of years, hopefully will get that back now. Keep up the good work The Department.1 point -

New kit for a very old and tired stock TM Sig 226 , over 10yrs old , probably closer to 15 and was my back up & winter use 226 back in the day . About 6months ago I fitted the threaded barrel and it’s bugged me ever since … so now time for a full face lift .1 point -
Honestly, the main thing holding back innovation in airsoft is airsofters. This thread alone illustrates it beautifully - there are programmable mosfets on the market that have all the bells and whistles you could ever hope for but for every person that accepts that early adoption of new tech comes with a price tag, there are a hundred others saying that a T238 and a POS brushed motor does everything they want. Both approaches are valid and often determined by how much that person has (or is willing) to spend on toy guns but the one that is happy to spend always seems to get shouted down with cries of "why would you waste your money on that?" or "what's the point? A rental with a £100 gun can still get you" or "there's no way I would spend that much on XXXX". Great, bully for you. My money, my choice. My main gun (of the 15 I own) is a SPecna with a Titan and Blu Link. The only reason it doesn't have a Warhead motor in it yet is because I want to see what the long term compatibility between their motors and that mosfet is (having already had to upgrade the motor twice - once because the Specna OEMN one was shite and then because the Titan ate the Rocket HT motor I put in to replace it; it's now running an Infinity 30K). Does it make me a better shot? No, of course not. Does it make me happy? Absolutely, and in this painfully short lifetime THAT is what we should be aiming for.1 point

Well you see more warhead motors because a) they're the new kid on the block and b) the other options are shit (Option no.1 motors are well known for shitting themselves and the other was a G&P motor I think that's literally impossible to find). The AliExpress brushless airsoft motors are just as expensive as a Warhead so I don't see the point of buying those. I have two warheads, one of which is currently in Denmark for repairs as I snapped one of the tabs (they're giga flimsy and WH is aware of that). I wish they were cheaper, especially for the performance increase I'm getting out of them compared to my €30 SHS HT brushed motors (1/2 extra RPS in full auto). But I definitely do not fall under that 90% of airsofters I mentioned earlier, I'm part of that 10% who actually dicks around with guns and the even smaller percentage of people who don't really mind spending a small fortune (solely because I can afford it atm) on gun shaped toys. Dis is going in my signature, and yes i'm a wanker at heart1 point

The trigger is indeed a Sniper1 trigger which was part of a set from ASPUK. I know as I too bought one lol. They sold the set as a base upgrade kit for £300 for VSR's. Included a crappy barrel, ok hop arm, rebranded ASP trigger, rebranded ASP piston and to be honest an ok cylinder. I would say, unfortuantely a "good" VSR which is really well upgraded including TDC etc etc would struggle to reach £450-£500 so for a mid level (ish) upgraded one which already has issues I think you'd struggle to exceed £250, that's a harsh come down from the pricing you have but my VSR which I went through this mill with and then went on and upgraded more on the other side of this, even that struggled ot hit £350 as you're into SSG10 money and they're new with a reasonable spec.1 point
