You had it advertised at a "delivered" price which most of us would assume is the final price just like it is on something like eBay or amazon, to then spring fee's on top is a dick move without having a line in the advert stating fee's are to be added if choosing PP payment method, fee's are small on a £30 item but not so much on a £300 item. All it would take is 30 seconds of your time to avoid situations like this, not really hard is it? Paypal policies does state: No surcharges You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.6 points

It's lazy and irksome when sellers spring PayPal fees on you, although hardly uncommon. It's also against PayPal's T&Cs for business sellers, which it rather seems that he might be. And I agree with asking for an invoice. It doesn't seem like this chap is dodgy, but then the best scammers never seem that way. Personally I'd like it if AFUK required sellers to list an all inclusive price including postage and PayPal fees, given that's how the majority of transactions are going to happen. And it wouldn't be rocket surgery to provide a fees calculator, at 2.9% + 30p for Sterling-to-Sterling. Disappointingly small spat though, I don't see anyone being offered out behind the circus tent.6 points

Out of interest, what proportion of buyers do you find want to take the risk of using something other than non-F&F PayPal? I'd assume that's the default now and price it in, for a couple of reasons. 1) If they want to pay that way then it avoids this disappointment. 2) If they want to gamble on something else, it's extra money in your pocket. So, really, why wouldn't you?5 points

trying to haggle an offer is fine, and £28 doesn't seem to be an insultingly low value imo.- not an asshole likewise refusing offers isn't really an issue. -not an asshole agreeing to original pricing because you still want it is fine too. -not an asshole putting paypal fee's on top of a listed price. -it shoulda been part of the listed price or at least made clear one way or the other, so kinda an asshole maybe but not in a big way. leaving feedback on a sale that didn't go through? - sorry but that's an asshole move tit for tat feedback- you attack someone can't blame em for responding. overall verdict- seller should have simply included paypal fee's in original price (or at least been clear on what the deal was). any time i list a posted price that is the all-in and if i get a few £ less than that because of paypal fees well that's the cost of a safe payment service you can use with random internet strangers. however you should have just walked away and called it at that. i'll be honest, i'd have just paid the fees. indeed i have done it voluntarily when an ad asks for f&f i just pay goods and services with a little extra to cover the fees, i think of it as insurance should something go south.5 points -

Honestly, the whole thing is pretty bloody childish. On the one hand he should be clear what the price includes (as should ALL advertisers), on the other hand you tried to low ball him which isn't going to make you his priority customer. The listing doesn't say "or near offer" or "open to offers". The whole tit for tat feedback thing straight off the mark is where it gets stupid though. You both make yourselves look like kids there, there's no need for it. Pay the money or don't, arguing over £1.20 is just ridiculous.5 points -

Moderator comment I have removed the feedback. I think that feedback should only be left when there has been an actual sale. Jedi comment Creating a topic to discuss this is fine, no personal attacks, and does give the forum something new to read and offer opinions on. I do like to know the full cost up front. In this case I would have asked for some free BBs to off-set the PayPal fees .4 points -

Personally when I advertise stuff I usually make it clear that the price includes PayPal and postage fees. In this case quango2k hasn’t mentioned PayPal, just delivery. So it does leave room for confusion. As it is advised that all transactions go via PayPal I can see why you would expect PayPal fees to be included in his price. But once it is clear that the PayPal fees are extra, if you didn’t want to pay the extra, personally I would have left it at that. Thanks, but no thanks. I feel that posting a bad review was probably an unnecessary step to far. I wouldn’t necessarily say either of you were being an asshole, just a situation that could probably have been dealt with better.4 points

Sales Dispute - General Opinion Sought
MAX DICKER and 3 others reacted to Groot for a topic
I had something similar. I sold an NGRS. When it arrived it was perfect except the power was lower than I had stated. I offered the cost of a service by a gunsmith to resolve or a full refund, as long as it was returned in the state I sold it and not opened. Since it would be such a simple task to up the spring or replace the piston/oring. That if they couldn't do that, there was no way i was going to take the gun back. They refused. Opened the gun, couldn't fix and instantly put in a pay pal dispute. Because of my offer and documentation. I won the case. I think in this case, tell them to go f themselves and let paypal sort it out. The protection works both ways.4 points -
M4 mags, why don't they all just get along???
werkzeug and 2 others reacted to Badgerlicious for a topic
I use some electrical tape (thin) and tough tape (thicc) to shim my mags to where they need to be. Typically it's some electrical around the top to stop side to side wobble, and a bit of tough tape in the back of the magwell to push the mag forward so it feeds. But in the words of the great neg airsoft, "airsoft guns are shit". And they are, tolerances are all over the place.3 points -

I’ve always found it trial and error. My ASG fed fine from ASG magazines, some Ares magazines, G&G but not any of the Nuprol offerings. However, the Nuprol ones would feed fine in my brothers G&G! Try and see what works, buy one Lonex and see if it feeds then buy a few more? 😂 Now I’m a TM recoil owner I don’t have to worry about lowly AEG midcaps anyway…3 points -

If something in the 2nd hand sales is advertised as £30 delivered yes I would also offer a pound or two under the asking price(called haggling , always try your luck you never know ?) but not be upset if the seller said no they wants to stick at the original price BUT that’s also the price the buyer pays , YOU DO NOT spring paypal charges after the deals agreed , or start bleating as there’s no mention of the charges you should assume there not included and you have to pay them on top ? that’s a dick move end off . Even if it’s just for the simple fact it’s against the T&C’s to do so for starters . As to leaving negative feedback when there hasn’t even been a sale ? FFS get a grip ! Not as if anyones is going to be out of pocket over it ! Can’t argue with that ! Sorry guys but you both are .3 points -

Now you're just talking bollocks. "I am not inferring that Quango2k is an ass hole" By the poll alone you did so, and you know you did. "have never gone out of my way to attack or defame them. " What's this thread then? You're trying to act like this is all an innocent misunderstanding, and getting salty because the poll/thread clearly hasn't gone the way you hoped. It is clearly inferred by the thread, poll, and the feedback you left that you believe the seller to be the asshole in the situation. I'd call it quits here, you think you're arguing your way out of it but you're just embarrassing yourself. Go ahead and put me on ignore if it makes you feel better.3 points -

I'd note that it adds no extra time, since you have to do the calculation anyway. Same for postage, it tickles my tappet when sellers say "plus postage" without having figured out what it will cost to send it in the way that they want, given that it's their risk. If I demanded that a seller only pay 99p for Del Boy's Pizzas and Shooters Delivery Service who offer zero compensation (to them), I'd be told to do one, right? tl;dr version: decide how much you want in your pocket. Find out how much it's going to cost to post it the way you want to send it and add that. Add PayPal fees. You'll have to do all this anyway at some point, so why on earth not just do it up front, and list that as the price? Yes, there are issues like Highland and Islands rates, or matey mates who will be daft happy enough to pay F&F, mate (until they get scammed that way), but I'd cost to the rule rather than the exception.3 points

Personally I'm not sure how I feel about negative sales feedback when a transaction hasn't actually completed. Maybe I'm bias though, as that's the only type I've received. In answer to your question, should/could the seller have made it clear Paypal fees weren't included, as the general rule around here is to only pay via goods and services - yes. Were you a bit hasty - yes.3 points -
For one thing, the STANAG "standard" has never actually been formalised. From measuring, airsoft toy versions vary by a mm or so in dimensions, and particularly in the position of the feed. It doesn't sound like much, but can be startling to line up a bunch side by side and see the differences. It's amazing that so many "M4" mags actually fit and feed in so many "M4"s.2 points

I just don't see the point in expending the energy when I know I didn't create the thread to try to attack the seller. I have now on multiple occasions admitted fault for using the feedback system the way I did. I have just asked people to keep it civil in the discussion. I do not consider the seller to be an ass hole but I do believe his advertisement and selling practices are not upfront and that is my opinion. When he returned feedback to me I thought why bother going to the admins privately when I can give the forum some chuckles at our expense. There has been opinions on both sides but I do see a theme that I should of just walked away from the sale when I wasn't happy with it. Not up to me sorry.2 points -

Personally I would never put an optic on an SMLE. Historically this rifle was rarely scoped, and even though there was one sniper version it was not really favoured and rarely seen. An Enfield No4 on the other hand, i would love to see an airsoft version scoped one day (G&G im looking at you), but this isn't that model sadly. Also drilling some modern rails on this 100 year old rifle, is just a big no from me lol. But that's just my preference. If you really wanted it, at a push i would suggest this configuration but would be very difficult and expensive to fabricate.2 points -

Welcome werkzeug 🖐 Have a look here for sites near you: UK Airsoft Map — PlayAirsoft And then look for reviews of the sites to see if worth going. We always recommend playing the 3 games to be UKARA registered because it also allows you to decide what kind of toy you'll want to get. GBB is fine as long as its below fps limits same as AEGs You'll need to check with site rules as they can vary but in general: Auto capable: 350fps Single shot: (No auto switch) 450fps Bolt action: 500fps With 0.2g BB2 points

All his good feedback doesn't negate any bad feedback. It seems the opinion on here is the feedback section should only be used for sales that went through as apposed to rating the seller (or buyer) so I've said my bad on that and offered for admins to remove it but I stand by what my feedback says. He sprung the fees on me after I agreed to the £30 advertised price so long as he posted it resonably quickly so I could have it by the 10th of April. Just feels like negotiating in bad faith to me so I wasn't wanting involved and I don't know why but him mentioning he had another buyer ready to pay didn't sit right with me either. Don't know why you think I am inferring anything it's what HE told me.2 points

Amen. Question to @quango2k, has it sold ?, did you have another buyer also trying to buy the item at the same time as @Musica, as he's inferring ? Edit: i asked the question because a real bugbear of mine, & it's happened a couple of times, is when you've started a conversation with someone regarding a sale, their responses indicate its available to you & your just waiting for them to send their PayPal details, & then they go quiet, prompting me to "nudge" them with a pm or two over the next 24hrs, made even more aggravating by the fact they've read messages & not responded, & then the sale item gets marked as sold, & I'm like "WTF MAN", & have been pissed off enough to contemplate shitty feedback, if nothing else for their lack of manners/courtesy🤬2 points

tl;dr It's fine. No offence is being committed by anyone. I would highlight that the issue (for all of us) is public possession, Firearms Act 1968 Section 19, and that applies to any replica, realistic or otherwise. There have been convictions for that, notably one for a small bright orange springer pistol, so please use it responsibly. Private land (and not shooting off that land), and being on the way to or from an insured airsoft site (not going for a romp in the woods with your mates).2 points

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Druid799 and one other reacted to Badgerlicious for a topic
I am just a sucker for project builds. It starts as a nuprol, but it will eventually inherit the innards of my 1j dmr build when that goes to hpa. Then it will be a cqb/assault machine. No reason this can't have the performance of my 1j dmr build but be waaaay more maneuverable and with less care for conserving ammo. Nuprol is always such a mixed bag, it's like little surprises waiting for you! The crane stock is the best fitting crane stock I have used. Zero wobble. None. Stupidly consistent with the hop set for 0.25s. But then the upper was rocking like a jelly and the barrel has no crowning! Anyway, the wobble has been mostly fixed with tape on the back end prongs to hold it down, it'll get a grub screw for the front pin to hold it down further, and a new barrel and hop (I hate geared hops). The old barrel might be a practice barrel for some things, it at least isn't rusted like the ak21 barrel was 👍 I also want to mention this feyachi V30 red dot. I was on the lookout for a T1 style red dot, or at least one on a more vertical riser, and then I saw a reviewer beating the V30 with an ammo tin and it retained zero. So yeah I bought it. It even comes with a kill flash so I don't have to spend a day with hand cramp making a protector for it. I'm looking forward to having a gun I can run in a more assault role that I don't mind pulling apart. Also I already threw my warhead into it and it's such an easy but insane upgrade.2 points -
