Time to rotate the optics. The Vortex Crossfire red dot is moving from the MWS to the MP7, and will be replaced by this; Vortex Crossfire II 1-4x24 scope, which will sit in the HAO Industries Geissele clone mount. Have to say the mount, like their rails, is really high quality. Looking forward to switching these up this evening.4 points

Positive from a negative, from the point of view of a person who has to fix said boo boo I’d much rather work on a baldy barstuard that someone with flowing locks . Always get a better result on the open tundra than you do in the jungle , if ya catch ma drift ? 😉3 points -
fyi: When they came out WH gave me some to test here's the summary 2000 cycles for each motor. First 1000 were 5 sec burst, then 2nd 1000 10 sec burst. M100 spring, 18:1 Gearset SHS 14TPA Motor with 7.4v (fully charged) RPS = 18 Full Auto Amp Draw = 25 Motor external temp after 2000 cycles = 50 (centigrade) Warhead Ultra Motor with 7.4v (fully charged) RPS = 27 Full Auto Amp Draw = 20 Motor external temp after 2000 cycles = 35 (centigrade) Not sure if it's like this across the board but you can see here better efficiency, lower temps and higher rps3 points

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread

What a day was had at ‘Red alert Newbury!’ for some of us it was bit of a commute (Scotland) seriously good folk in attendance, seriously good marshalling, but most of all seriously fun skirmishing, 10/10. thanks to @Skullchewer for providing extra kit/weapons and advice on the day, I forgot to bring my patch home…I was one of the famous five and Lone wolf Scott it was great to meet you Next Sunday…going dark for some first time CQB at ‘the Depot’ in my home town3 points -
Morning boiiiis, My AK motor died after idk, less than 4k rounds put through, I tried to repair it but a) I'm not very good at electric/electronic stuff and b) the motor is beyond salvation (one of the neo magnets popped out of the can and the commutator seems to be ultra deaded). Time to get a new motor, unfortunately my "local" retailers (read San Marino stores) don't have anything interesting in stock at reasonable prices and I thought that if I was going to spend money anyway, might as well get a brushless! As of now there are only three options for bushless (hue) motors: • Option no.1 which I know nothing about other than being quite expensive at €160/170 • Expert something that are known for not being compatible with MOSFETs • Warhead Industries Black/Base motors, highly praised by our Lord and Saviour @Armourpiercing (Smol EDIT: leaning towards the Warhead Industries offerings) The plan is to stay on the current level of wankness, so with 13/12:1 gears, 16tpa 30k motors and Gate Titan/Perun Hybrid I'm around 22/23 RPS on a 7.4v battery, I might stretch to 24/25 but that's the limit for sustained full auto fire (read magdumping a bush cuz I can't aim). Should I splurge money on these motors? Which version would you recommend?2 points

Brought a part (mock silencer) from Evike late last year, didn't have UKARA then and got hit by the exact same form by UPS. I think the word Airsoft in the shipping content triggers the flag for this process. For me (completely glossing over the shambles of their communications), I fill in what I could to support my claim (i.e No velocity, its a part, not a RIF, playing with an organization, no UKARA as not importing RIF etc.) They released it fairly quickly after I sent the form back to the right person. Not that I would guarantee its the same for you, given import orders are risky and next person could be completely different, but hope that helps.2 points

Sales post - no dates

Yeah, would be useful to have date posted on ads but there's no helping people who can't read "Sold" 🙄2 points -
Would certainly recommend the Warhead over the option no.1 motor. The option no.1 has very long motor tabs, can be quite terrifying to nearly sheer off the tabs installing it into an AK motor cage. While the warhead ones are delicate, as long as you take your time you should be okay. The efficiency of the warhead is nicer, recall some German YouTube channel doing a comparison. The option no. 1 was soundly beat by the Warhead. Recently installed a Base 27K into my Galil. Greatly increased the amount of shots I get from a 7.4v stick battery versus the Tienly motor was using in the past. In fairness to option no.1 they make a series of medium length motor offerings. Which is nice as the Sig 55X series users usually get overlooked. If you're using a ETU just be careful with settings, warhead should have recommended settings on their website.2 points

Hello. I am unable to view and delete my "My Attachments" That is accessible from clicking your username in the top right. It just displays "Something Went Wrong". Since the Account File Limit has dropped in the past couple of years I have had to delete loads of useful tech images to keep my site review images in place. But now I cant even remove images at all unless I go back through my post history. Cheers.1 point

Hi All, im looking to upgrade from my rif bag to a hard case and wondering if anyone can recommend something to suit my needs. I have a G&G TR16 and a G&G ARP 556 plus mags and a Hi Capa. Ideally I’m looking for a deep case with pick and pluck foam that will fit all of the above and maybe a few small extras. Looking online the Nuprol XL seems to be the largest I can find, does anyone have any first hand experience with this case and have any pics of how much you can get in it? https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/nuprol-extra-large-wheeled-hard-case-cubic-pnp-foam?pv=5456 Cheers!1 point

@Johndaniel4863will probably be a good help here. I would be inclined to tick for ‘RIF parts’ but stress the parts element for shroud only, and avoid too much in the UKARA /Defence area other than making it clear that it is for parts only which don’t require a defence Its interesting that the paintball section only refers to making a velocity compliance statement, and the airsoft skirmisher section is UKARA specific. Whether or not a paintball gun can be a RIF or not is a different discussion - a Home Office letter on that exists, and isn’t entirely conclusive1 point

-
Oof, thanks for including the PDF. That's a hot mess right there. It's encouraging that they even know about airsoft and distinguish between RIFs and IFs, but doing it for parts is going over-and-above what they're required to do. For one thing, you could put that part on a day-glo orange base and it still wouldn't be a RIF. I'd hope it's just some jobsworth covering his back by requiring a completed form, but not giving a stuff about the actual details.1 point

UPS RIF Declaration for Parts
GothicGhost reacted to GeorgePlaysAirsoft for a topic
I had the same thing as Alvin and it was totally fine (short version I pretty much answered no or n/a to every question which didn't specify parts) There is a question whereby if you put "yes" to RIF parts, they want you to "confirm the use of the RIF as above" - I did mark the question as "yes" but did not confirm the use of the RIF "as above" cause.. it's not a RIF. I may be paranoid but I'd encourage anyone who has this form for parts to not include anything vaguely "ukara-ry" or "defency", just in case they start demanding ukara or whatever for just parts. I still have a copy so if you want to take a look let me know and I can ping it over.1 point -

Skara reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
gotta vote for the warhead. about the only downside is the motor tabs are very weak, and you really gotta be careful not to strain them when adding/removing contacts (although afaik they've been working at improving that since i had mine) otherwise handles a titan just fine (with precocking/ab), i went with the standard speed so auto on 13:1 came out ~18rps but with a much much better response in semi than that number would imply.1 point -

Hard Case Help
Shamal reacted to Oneshotscott for a topic
I have both the nuprol large and extra large cases. The image is of the large case which Ive thrown in the Ssg10, mk23 and mags etc. With careful placement I could see your pews fitting. Ive thrown the sr15, 12 mags, speedloader, 2 x bfgs, battery box and bfg blanks in the other extra large case. This case is huge. Note the only difference is the length, so I'd layout your intended kit on the floor, get some tape and mark out the dimensions for the 2 x sizes of case and see what fits. Both cases are well protective of the contents and for the price are value. They're not super rigid/ throw out of the back of a c130 kind of case but they're good enough for airsoft.1 point -

Accuracy issue and zero question
HutchBelfast reacted to Cyberlawyer for a topic
I'm not seeing a problem here. Assuming you are chronoing at 350fps (on .2g BBs) and are at a true measured 50m. I'd say a 12" group with .25g BBs is actually fairly decent, that's pretty much 100% hit ratio on an A4 sheet of paper at that distance (yes I know A4 is only 12" along the longer edge which is why I said pretty much). You will improve your grouping by moving up to .3g bbs at the cost of longer flight time (absolute range may also vary). I think a lot of people under estimate how terrible a ballistic projectile the humble BB is. Remember a 500 fps sniper rifle hurling .4g BBs at 350 fps (approx 500 fps on a .2g BB) is only reaching out to about 80-85m.) In response to the question on zero it depends on what range you set your zero and how you set your hop (i.e. do you set it to have a trajectory as flat as possible or for a lift at the end to get max range). If you zero to 10m then the path of the BB will be pretty flat whatever weight BB or hop set you use). At 20m you will see a difference, if you set your hop aggressively for max range it could be significant, but if hop is set for a flat flight path it will be quite small. Beyond that yes the zero will change.1 point -

Nope it will be for transporting by car. I’ve don’t a little measuring and laying rifs out in the floor today and I think, with a bit of Tetris, I can make both fit with some spaces for mags and BB’s. The main issue I’ve had is figuring out if the long boi TR16 plus optics leaves enough room for an ARP as well1 point -

An open fronted mesh top for a summer leaf suit. This is going to get painted to get rid of the odd purple tones, then some larger netting on top and finally covered in leaves and what not. Nice and green and natural I hope. I'm also going to convert my dpm trousers into a leaf suit lower when I can bloody find them 🤬 Anyway, should be a fun build, and I can spend my summers in a vegetative state.1 point -

Just fitted an RA-Tech NPAS to my TM MWS. Great FPS improvement. Super happy with the results. First pic is before then second after. This is without the hop adjusted correctly. Had the barrel out and since have not set the hop properly. I just wound the hop on around half way to stop the BBs rolling out. Tested at ambient room temp with .20 BBs. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get your MWS closer to site limits on green gas. @Mr. No_Face Here are the results you were interested in.1 point
