I attended the UKAPU AGM and Management meeting on Thursday night. We are going to be forming a National Governing Body (Not a Sporting Governing body, at the moment anyway). A statement of intent should be made public in March. It is the opinion of UKAPU Leadership that they have practically no reasons not to at least attempt it. We have pretty much all of the documents required for us to seem at least legitimate. We also hit the 3500~ Members mark this year.5 points -

East of England UKAPU Player Representative
Tactical Pith Helmet and one other reacted to Jacob Wright for a topic
Hello All! I’m Jacob Wright, long time user of the forum and airsofter. I have also recently taken on the role of regional player representative for the East of England within UKAPU. I took on this role to support players within my region, and to give them a voice in matters that may effect them. Over the course of 2022 I’m hoping to be able to get around as many sites within the region as possible, so that I can meet, listen to and play alongside you. That said, I can’t be everywhere at once so would like to invite people to comment here, DM me, or email me on [email protected] if they have any questions, views, or other requests. If I’m not the representative for your region I’m also happy to point you in the right direction, or help where I can. As the player representative you will be my priority as far as UK airsoft is concerned, and I will do everything I can to support you. For those of you that are UKAPU members, thank you for you support. And for those that aren’t, I’ve included a link to the website if you’d like to check it out! Finally, apologies for the location of this thread and I’m more than happy for it to be moved if necessary; as a regional topic this was the most appropriate place I could think of! https://www.ukapu.org.uk/about/member-benefits/2 points -

I was looking forward to playing this weekend until illness poked its unwelcome head in. Don't know if it's covid (don't have any test kits) and I don't care if it is or not. I simply won't go and spread illness to all my friends just because I want to play BB wars2 points

During lockdown one, wrestling firms (fat blokes in leotards, not MMA etc) were left out of schemes for sports venues. Lack of a governing body meant wrestlers were ineligible to call themselves sports persons. Same obviously with airsoft sites. The APPG on sport also had concerns re: safeguarding and exclusion from child protection legislation. Mark Fletcher (newly elected and publicity hungry) MP raised the (novel tabloid friendly) issue in parliament and lo and behold, after years of saying that it could never be done, a body was formed, by those saying that they never could form one. I'd rather see sites get their act together and standardize game rules etc and form some substantial trade organisation, than wait for a whole slew of bad publicity to combine with an MP or other public person with some self aggrandising/promoting campaign to stop children playing at simulating killing each other/learning terrorism skills/being at the mercy of marshals with no safeguarding policies/other old bollocks etc etc. Until then we cross our fingers and hope that any such silliness does indeed wrap tomorrows chips and achieve fuck all else. Like you, I donate/renew UKAPU each year, but as you say, they seem to be missing in inaction.2 points -

So I managed to put a few rounds through the gun at work today. It uses the same gearbox as all the other DE guns with the falcon system. At about 10/15m I was getting a grouping of around 2" or so (using valken .20g outside. I then shot at sign about 30/35m maybe which was about a foot square and after adjusting for wind I was hitting it pretty consistent. The gun feels very solid. No creeks anywhere. The only part that has a bit of movement is the stock when extended half way or more but even then it's not that much. I thought I'd highlight a few bits that might be useful and nice touches. First up is the battery compartment. It's pretty airy in there, especially if your a fellow 904G owner. as you can see plenty of room for larger sticks or crane batteries.b The stock has 6 extendable positions plus a couple for the cheek rest. It has a nice rubber pad at the end. A little detail that I thought was nice was a window to show what position the stock was in. The charging handle is ambidextrous and can be swapped over easily. You pull the charging handle back along 2 sprung loaded stainless steel tubes too access the hope unit. Hop now exposed through the large ejection window. This stays open until you press the catch and it snaps shut. Next is the grip. Feels good in the hand. Has a nice rubber texture on it. Definitely more comfortable than my 904G and H. Lastly one slight downside. The stock when folded doesn't click into anything to make it stay fully closed to the rifles body. There's a bit of free play before force is needed to fold it back to lock it out. Easily solved with a bit of velcro, or something. This is the amount 'free play' Hope that helps someone.1 point -
Hello all, New player here looking for some advice. I'm interested in getting started in proper airsoft and currently looking at playing at Bristol Activity Centre in Portishead and hopefully join their membership (I'm based in Weston) and wondered if anyone had any advice/kit to take etc. I'm sadly on my own with this so would have to contact and ask them if I can join several sessions before I'm able to qualify for UKARA and figure out what kit to get in order to be able to do walk-ons. I've got my old "running around friend's big gardens" two tone kit from a long while back (MP5 AEG, well-fed micro uzi side and electric 92fs) but these wouldn't be anyway suitable for a walk-on day! Thanks very much everyone, looking forward to getting started1 point

Hello. pop it in the classifieds with a couple of decent pics here: https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/ general rule of thumb for value is 60-70% of its new price if it’s in good condition. If it’s two-tone coloured, it will effects desirability a bit good luck1 point -

Wearing full Russian ,or even Ukrainian, clobber at the moment would be in poor taste. But that didn't stop plenty of guys going full LARP during the Global War on Terrorism, when it can't be said that US/UK/Allied nations always acted with the utmost moral rectitude. Nobody's breaking any laws other than transgressing good taste, but there's no accounting for taste.1 point -

I finally fixed this! The hop arm was too sharp and it carved out a channel on the plastic wheel adjuster. I bought a replacement Maple Leaf wheel, but the channel is too wide to bring the arm down to hop enough. I purchased a new replacement stock TM M9 arm and two new wheels, lubed them up and installed. I am now hopping .28's easily. I may need to do some adjustment to the arm to get it firing completely straight, but otherwise all looks good!1 point

What happened? I only watched the bit at 8.07 and skipped the rest. Like with women’s curling when I only watch the bit with the sweeps…. Poland only has to worry if Russia and Germany decide they need to redirect Nordstream 2 using creative back dated planning permission. Well that be used to be in Russia and that bit was German once so what’s the problem? 🤔1 point -
i dont really believe anything any news source says. the past few years has made me jaded beyond my years.... and as for the propaganda claim that ukraine attacked first... its the same excuse the Nazis used to justify invading poland... they claimed that poland had attacked a german radio station at Gleiwitz and then broadcast a propaganda message to the german people in polish.... despite the fact it was really an SS unit that attacked the radio station... then the next day the tanks were rolling across the border https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleiwitz_incident too late... airsoft cardiff have already stepped onto that particular landmine... getting back to the issue initially raised.. though not really saying anything that hasnt already been said... I don't have any russian kit, but if i did, then at this moment in time, i would avoid wearing it to avoid any possible issues (offended snowflake or pond-scum journalist out with their big wooden shit-stirring spoon) i had been planning on purchasing an AK and getting some eastern-bloc gear (not necessarily russian), but given what's going on in Ukraine, i will be holding off on those plans as well.. i know a few guys who do run russian gear and if they decide they want to run it, I personally don't care. at the end of the day we are all playing dress-up and shooting each other with toy guns.1 point

Third-party trying too hard to be an edgelord, I'd suspect. Well, the good news is that the meeja decided to go with the "players outraged" narrative. Deep breath, and remember that anything else said might be used against us.1 point

They have a particularly bad design for a piece which breaks very easily. It is part #30 here B Series Hi-Power (MKIII) #30 - B Series (MKII, MKIII) Hi-Power Browning - WE Pistols (GBBP) - Parts (kyairsoft.com) As you can see the parts are available and not hugely expensive but it took almost 2 months to get mine back in 2019. When a magazine is inserted into the gun it catches the spring (#31) which is also the valve knocker. Because the spring is mounted to part #30 by a small pin it only takes a few of these hits from the magazine to break the pin rendering it unable to fire. There are two solutions. 1. Always rack the slide BEFORE inserting a magazine. This retracts the valve knocker so it does not get hit by the magazine when inserted. This means that the hammer would have to be carefully lowered afterwards to prevent its spring becoming fatigued. 2. Make a stronger part #30 out of steel. Its possible as its not a complex part and using an original as a template would make it much easier but I've not heard of anyone doing this though. WE Browning Hi-Power MK3 failure and how to avoid breaking it. - YouTube The trigger spring also broke on mine so don't manipulate the trigger a lot. Other than this its an OK pistol. I love mine but wouldn't use it on a game day.1 point

A gentle reminder of the playbook for when you get a call / message from someone claiming to be a reporter from the Daily Drama, demanding that you explain why you refuse to disavow the Russian-Nazi-Nonce-Lizards infesting your hobby. 1) Put the phone down / delete the message, and block. Give them nothing, not one single word. 2) Repeat as necessary for up to 7 days. 3) The story is over.1 point -
CNN? Not clearly biased? [insert J. Jonah Jameson laughing meme here] Personally, I don't believe any of the mainstream media outlets any more and tend to find my news from multiple, independent sources, having been a journalist myself. You can give a journalist a set of facts and then they can write 3 different articles using the same set of facts, each telling a totally different story. It's really not that hard to do.1 point

Or stood in the shed sorting through old pyro separating the good from the battered, damaged strikers etc before taking them off for a ‘safe’ bang (the ones that have suffered from battering, or failed but not left in a field to be picked up by kids) One of which having previously been an old school paper mache style BB grenade but only had the strip of striker tip, fuse & bang remaining Straight to the ‘dispose’ pile But touching along the workbench as passing it over…… and Hiss…… Followed by prompt dropping Followed by looking at the stack of pyro besides a hissing fuse Pick up the hissing fuse Turn around to throw out the door behind Glance at the open kitchen door behind the shed Drop fuse Stand on fuse Feel thud Be thankful for not stepping out in bare feet1 point -
