My Galil ARM build is nearing completion. Externally she's all but there, though the internals still need some work. Special parts include a real MePro M21 sight, custom Galil midcaps, Bullgear RPK drum, and a heavily modified Bullgear gearbox shell and Retro Arms AK hop to fit together. If people really want it I can post a full build list, but I dont really feel like looking up the list right now...7 points -

Newest. Technically. Best of luck, but these sites get pre-announced about as often as design or engineering students pre-announce their pre-intention to pre-blow our pre-minds with some pre-invention.4 points -
Would say mate donโt get too disheartened if you have a less than copious out pouring of excitement over it , this kind of idea pops up fairly frequently AND usually die a death just as frequently ! Playing Pew Pew like a kid when I'm 51...
Tactical Pith Helmet and one other reacted to Daddy Foote for a topic
My first post here, and Yes, you read that right. 51 years of age and I have only just crawled out from under my rock and discovered Airsoft - well about a month ago. Turns out my partner's son has been doing it for years... So, while still full of festive cheer (booze) I agreed to have a go. So I went for a game of CQB in The Mill in Wigan on the 30th December and....I'm hooked. I loved it. My body didn't like it like though. Legs felt like rubber and struggled to climb stairs for 3 days. Lol. And my body looked like it had chicken pox that turned into 19 multicoloured bruises over the next day or so. Well I am 51 and 1.5 stone over weight... Which is one of the reasons why I went, to get a bit fitter... After changing my job from an active plumber and builder I got an office job 6 months ago for a software company and piled on the weight. Struggling to put your shoes on, being late for work 'cos the shirt you just ironed was too tight (true story) I had to start doing something and what can be more fun that running around like a 9 year old playing Pew Pew??? I've had a few goes now, all at the same place. Learning the CQB site so I can focus on improving my skills, what little I have. I must be getting better though as only 2 bruises after the last skirmish. With improved skill and a bit more experience, next week I'm off to another CQB venue to play Pew Pew Wish me luck!!! Ps. Any advice on how to improve my CQB game?2 points -

Feel your pain brother. I recently ordered ยฃ500 worth of stuff from three Hong Kong/ Chinese ebayers and a pair of boots from Germanyโฆ.All Vat paid at source. Within 7 days 2/3 eBay orders came in, boots took over 2 weeks?! Plus parcel force charged handling AND import duties of nearly ยฃ50โฆ third Chinese ebay items are atm lost between British port and a sorting centre and no change in the Royal Mail tracking system for over a week. Like wtf ? Just seems all over the place tbh, and pot luck whether you get stung or even can figure out where your shit actually isโฆ2 points

This is a fully personal thing, but you might want to maybe look at Magpul, BCM, B5, Reptilia, DD, Ergo, just a military M16A1 pistol grip or.. maybe anything else at all before FAB. Their stuff looks like it was designed by a child for nerf blasters or a supersoaker; though obviously if you want that civvie aesthetic vs a military type rifle then hey have at it.2 points

Why have an โorโ when an โandโ will do just as well? Avoid combining stamps, trains and anoraks at once - the unholy trinity may cause the end of the world, or ruin the sticky side of your stamps out in the damp air These nerds are on a day out to the highest station in the U.K. at Corrour โฆ.. which isnโt far from Spean and the Commando monument where they could have had a nice sit down on the bench for their picnic & vaguely slips back on topic The majority of people couldnโt care less what you wear & how accurate or thrown together a โlookโ is There will always be that one guy who will either call you out for being inaccurate with the wrong or missing badges or for daring to have badges and โcalling outโ a spotty teenager for โwaltingโ as a steeley eyed dealer of death Everyone knows airsofters are playing a game of dress up, some may look down, some may love their eBay income inflated by โSAS issueโ spammed in the title A minor top tip on getting the British Army look to be just right is to not wear anything as per regulations Thats for recruits who have to comply with the instructor On arrival at unit they then have to comply with the new shouty man with the badges & stick and what he (maybe she) tells them on how to wear kit Then they learn what they can get away with replacing with shiney kit from their surplus cash burning holes in pockets Followed by learning what falls apart and is best left to free exchange at Q&Ms, and can be supported overseas Find some photos of an era you like, recreate a look that you like2 points

I'd recommend the Cyma CM045 models https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/cyma-cm-045-aeg-ak-rifle?pv=11944 They're incredible value for money given the quality of construction. Had one myself for a couple of years!2 points

Ah. that's right! Thought I was having a case of deja-vu! The brass nub is quality. Just have a bit of patience and Dave will sort you out. I wouldn't be in a rush to change any other internals though, but it's your choice. Sounds like you have the right approach to it so get cracking over the weekend and enjoy yourself. WW1 RIF
Tactical Pith Helmet and one other reacted to EvilMonkee for a topic
The two holes dont normally align, the trigger basically pushes the smaller one up to align with the bigger hole. The striker is an arrow head shape that sits in the bigger hole and is held back by this non alignment. Pull the trigger, aligns, bang. The issue arises when the two pieces break or one of them does. Then you have a dead, hard to fix gun unless you get something made. The issue even with the replacement steel piece is that the hole is too big for a gas striker, so I had a plug made for the hole with another hole bored into it of the correct size. Probably the most solid Mosin out there, wish I hadn't sold it now... The interesting thing with this rifle is that I *think* it should be possible to mate the Wingun CO2 version lower receiver with the PPS hop unit which would solve the flaws inherent in both2 points -

Loads of advice in this post. It's well worth your time to read as much as you can as most of your questions will have been answered, especially if you're new to the platform. It's never a bad idea to try something as it is, straight out of the box before considering upgrades. One thing I found from reading 200+ pages of this before I received mine, is that the MWS needs very little doing to it, if anything, to be fantastic. You'll find the majority of 'upgrades' people do are external.1 point
