Old Guy getting into airsoft
Rogerborg and 2 others reacted to CrackCommandoUnit1972 for a topic
What actually happens when you get into airsoft is that after spending hours researching and deliberating what to buy, when you finally get your first RIF you think it's the best thing since sliced bread. Then, exactly five seconds later, you go on the internet and start to look at even 'better' guns to buy. This process never stops, even when you say to yourself that you don't need another gun as the other ten you bought do the exact same thing.3 points -

Galaxy MP5K ‘death machine’ conversion and holster setup?
Halo and 2 others reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Years ago I knocked this up out of an old taser holster. I cut the back section out, removed the foam inside and ran the strap through the belt attachment. It held the gun secure, but reholstering it was nowhere near quick. Unfortunately a few hours after this was taken I went arse over tit and landed on the gun knackering it and only got round to replacing it a few months ago3 points -

Ooooh I love vector graphics... Battlezone and star wars being my fave arcade games... I always aspired to owning the Vectrex. Does it live up to expectations? Just to show my love for vectors I wrote a version of Asteroids in 'Scratch' a few years ago... https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/245563 I did a rough version of Star Castle too.3 points -

Thermos flask and a super soaker , you fill the thermos with boiling water , you then pour that in to the super soaker and it’s an Airsoft flamethrower ! 😉2 points -

I did. 🤣 Mrs. Eezer is a bit baffled by all this airsoft stuff, she thinks it's just me being a big bairn pretending to be Action Man running about with pretend guns etc *not to mention yet another expensive hobby*, however she's pretty impressed by the outfit so far.2 points -

Spotted this simple idea on a Korean Airsoft website when looking for a tip on one of my RIF’s Pretty simple and a doddle to make, the only painful bit was hot gluing the strings inside to help slow down the bb’s (who’d have thought Hot Glue can burn ya!) 9mm thick interlocking foam floor mats, the type used for the nursery play area - less than £10 on Amazon Double lined the back face opposite the Chrono, then approx 200m of string suspended from the top to snare the bb’s Should save the TV from stray shots 😂2 points -
I honestly can't imagine how you could pay that much to buy every conceivable spring that might possibly suit, then throwing most of them away. Well, if you can get the measurements, https://springsandthings.me.uk/ is a decent source for small springs.2 points

That's a really nice job, it feels spot on. I contributed some of networking and robot AI to XPilot a few... uh... decades ago. The vector will rise again!2 points

Wait... is everyone here a 1980s 8-bit nerd? 😮 I started on a GlaDOS system with the integral mobile power source. Friday night rules, here's a cover of Poker Face performed on piano, guitar, ukulele, table-thump, and stylophone, entirely conceived, played, sung, filmed and edited by one teenager with a potato-cam.2 points -

Electric guns are a thing of the past for me now. I’ve committed to hard mode. I’ve run plenty of black gas through my MP7 in winter, never ever in summer. Nothing has failed yet, but if it does C’est La Vie1 point -

It's incredible how people have used this exact video in presentations and now the "whirl valve" has assimilated into common knowledge when it is just a gimmick from G&G, the guys that have been historically known to make dog poo poo pistols.1 point -

Are these guns a stupid idea
Rogerborg reacted to Tactical Pith Helmet for a topic
I have a G&G L85, easily the worst rif I own. Heavy, unergonomic, and unreliable. It lasted two short games and the ETU shat itself. Budget in a Perun at the least I'd say. On the plus side, it's a sort of favourite. For milsims it's a decent replica. I notice that my ex-infantry pal who fields one all the time, has no probs at all, re crap ergonomics. Being airsoft, the 'it's cool' factor is a major consideration.1 point -
Berget 18
Jacob Wright reacted to Tactical Pith Helmet for a topic
Here we go Jacob. Straight from the pferd's mund as it were. I received this from the German Customs Directorate. '...travellers from the UK to Germany or through Germany required a weapons permit issued by the locally competent weapons authority. This is usually the authority locally competent for the area where the hunters or shooters stay in Germany or - if the transit only - where they enter Germany. There are no simplifications applicable in such a case. From a customs point of view this is a temporary import, provided the goods (firearms) leave the EU again. There are no import fees on that. An oral declaration to customs is sufficient. Here you can find a list with weapons authorities in Germany:' https://www.nwr-fl.de/liste-der-waffenbehoerden-seite.html I discussed my travel plans with Mrs Pith Helmet. She is of the opinion that Berget is likely to be extortionate to attend. She has attempted cheap(ish) road travel in Sweden previously and recommended Border War in Czech Republic as an alternative if driving. It does occur to me that there must be plenty of milsims in Europe. Attending as a group may be a lot of fun. There are plenty of Polish and Portuguese players at my local site. Attending a game as a British team with local interpreter might be something to attend.1 point -

I was trying to buy smallest possible torch with integrated grip to use on pistols. I found one made by UTG but nowhere to buy anythere outside US. So I decided to make my own. The hardest part was to find smallest possible torch with instant on light and highest possible lumens. The one I got is a size of AA battery and has real output of 650 lumens. Not bad for such tiny EDC torch. Next step was easy with bit of help from thingiverse and my limited cad skills I manage to produce this it's tiny c.8x6cm!! tested on the game day and was better than expected perfect pistol torch with grip1 point

An aimpoint extension to make the Compm2 look more like a 3000/5000 for that old skool look Cheap but of alu tube (30mm diameter) trimmed to right length and sprayed black. Uses the rear scope ring shared with the back of the compm2. With the lens protector on it looks OK to me. Before: After:1 point -

I actually think they should double the minimum age. No under 25's, at least a three day induction course, six months of banks statements and a permission slip signed by your wife/partner. If you're not married/living with your partner, you can't play. Save the space for those of us who have a legitimate reason to leave the house at 6am on a weekend.1 point
