  2. Just received them and got the plain one fitted and tested. Still needs some bolts and finishing work but it already shoots very well. Will post a vid later.

  3. Yea I’ve seen this one as well , only way I could see the recoil effecting a scope enough that you actually notice it is if you’ve gone out of your way to find and then buy literally the cheapest/nastiest/poorest quality scope you could find ! 😳 😆😆

  5. PLEASE don't fall into that trap of believing all the bollocks online that says "yeah TM recoils are great, once you change X, Y and Z". Leave it the fuck alone, it'll be fine. Plus, any excuse to repost this: As for contacts, they even do varifocals now! Weird as fuck to use but they do them! Plate carriers are sweaty as fuck so definitely check out belt kit but don't rule out chest rigs either. There's loads of them out there that have plenty of variety.

  6. Personally, I'd rather buy a new one from a reputable vendor for the same price than trust my dosh to some dude that registered on the forums 12 hours ago. On the other hand, I have a valid defence, which i would assume is something this seller isn't too worried about. That reminds me. I really want a TM Gen 4 Glock. I must get round to ordering one.

This video from the timestamp 4:25 covers it: I only ever really use Hobbyking Turnigy LiPos, but they don't have any 2s LiPo stocked in the UK Warehouse. I've tried Vapextech, but they just don't hold the voltage under load compared to Turnigy. Giant Power is pretty good from what I've heard - I know a few RC guys that use Giant Power packs on model aircraft. They've been around for a while now, I would be reasonably confident that they can get the job done for Airsoft guns. I reckon this one will fit the gun, but I would get a ruler out and double check the stock internal measurements before ordering. The S65 is still a really good charger for the money. Whilst there are some fancier looking units (and complete overkill for Airsoft), it's still a solid choice.

  8. I have an astigmatism and suffer from the dreaded hyperhidrosis too. Contacts for astig are a thing and work fine. I actually tried non-astig (read cheap) lenses and the difference is minimal as long as I don't want to read/focus up very close. Certainly fine for airsoft. Worth a punt if you order them online. I have to use mesh, as even the best goggles with Cat Crap applied and a fan get covered in sweat even if they don't fog. Sweatbands do work. Take at least three, dry them/hang them on your mirrors as you drive home as they start to stink. Instead of a beanie/cap etc, wear a crocheted prayer cap. Seriously, they come in khaki/OD/black etc and camo the head whilst being really cool. Cost a couple of quid on Ebay. I use webbing, but you can get plate carriers that use water carrying plates that can be cooled and used as hydration bladders too.

  11. That looks really good on there. Do you know what material it's printed in? Looks like PLA? Moving on to my next project - Helmet-mounted fan. Basically my knockoff version of the ExFog. I'll be printing this prototype tomorrow for fan fitment/airflow testing - If it works I'll add an integrated battery box and some cosmetic updates to 'pretty' the thing up for the final design.

  12. You can assume it, but it won't be true. The tiny cylinder volume is the limiting factor. I've tried the "M90" spring from Eagle6, and even with the air seal as good as I can get it, I've never seen over 0.5J (~237fps on 0.2g). The trigger response will never be anything like a gas gun. I'm currently running a 7.4V 1200mAh 25/50C lipo capable of delivering up to 60A, and the fattest wires that I can stuff in there, and it's still lethargic. It doesn't help that the triggers are also mushy, with none of the crisp clean break of a mechanical trigger. You can sink loads of time and money into them, but it'll never be as performant or fun as a gas pistol or an AEG MP5K.

Just to be absolutely sure, if your gun connector looks like the one on the left here, that's Deans ("T" connector).

Welcome Ollie, Are you into skirmishing or milsim? Sorry to hear about your two mates. (They're going to miss it for sure) You don't need a team for skirmishing and you'll probably meet regulars if you go to the same site a few times.

  15. Welcome. I hope airsoft isn't drying up over there 🤨 I had a CYMA Glock AEP a few years ago so my info is limited and may be out of date. 1 Mine didn't have a MOSFET but just got a higher mAh battery. Tight bore and better Hop would be a safe bet. 2 AEP and quick trigger response will never go together. Just not enough juice to kick the motor around.

  20. Hmm, I wonder where he's sourcing all these "brand new, unused" RIFs from. I'd have to suspect that they're going out someone's back door, or are boneyard buys that may or may not work. Either way, I'd approach with considerable caution.

  21. Off to Redcon-2 with a group of friends I played with a decade or so ago on Sunday. Excited to try out a new site, and see some old pals for the first time in forever. This'll be the first time I've gone to a game with folks in forever, suffice to say I doubt I'll be seeing much of them once we're out if the safe zone!

  22. I’ve currently got 7 recoils and over the past 14+yrs ? I’ve had around 15 and can happily tell you the only ones I’ve ever had problems with were 3 ‘upgraded’ ones . 1st was done by my self and a mate , 2nd by a good site tech and the 3rd by a very well respected TM recoil upgrade specialist , now don’t get me wrong all of them did perform better after the upgrades BUT none of them lasted that long before work was needed to maintain this improved performance . Where as I’ve got a Socom and 74su that are both totally stock bar a deans connectors fitted and there 13 and 12yrs old respectively . So I think that speaks volumes for the brand ?

  24. Interesting title to his Advert. Again, I wonder if some of these sellers take a punt on the fact that kiddies without a defence are willing to pay a premium to bypass the whole 'three games' thing.

  26. For your first point a simple solution, but maybe not that elegant, is a good old school sweat band on your head as that's what they were invented for (keep a few in a kit bag and swap them over frequently). I wear glasses always and I'm very happy with my Guard Dog Evader 2 goggle and how they fit perfectly over them. However, I'm a sweaty betty as well and when I'm huffing and puffing they will fog, with Revision wipes from eBay helping somewhat, however this weekend I'm playing for the first time with my new helmet and ExFog setup (tubing carefully routed with velcro retaining it) so I'm hoping for a totally different experience regarding fogging. One thing I'd say that has helped with my fogging is getting rid of my mesh face mask and getting a Delta Mike Facepro Snood. The mesh mask directed some of my breath upwards towards my goggles, but this is all gone with the Delta Mike, and another big plus point is that I've gone from a bulky mesh mask to something skin tight so my peripheral vision has improved so much (especially looking directly down to my chest rig and what I'm walking over / up / down on).

Hmm, Airsoft World say mini-Tamiya, but then retailers say a lot of things. Deans would be better. Given the stocking issue at the moment, what are we recommending? Component Shop? https://www.componentshop.co.uk/batteries/batteries-airsoft/batteries-airsoft-li-po-packs/batteries-airsoft-li-po-packs-74v.html SkyRC S65 charger is the current recommendation, last I checked.

It's Classic Army, the gun come with Deans as standard with a Deans to Mini Tamiya adapter. I would be using a 2S 1200-1300 mAh battery - room is limited in the stock due to the metal slider bar assembly. 3S is fine apparently for the gearbox, but I have heard of Classic Army Mosfets blowing quite quickly, so I would keep the overall wattage down.

  33. Sorry it came a cross as referring to all guns , was simply saying even with your narrow window there’s still a very good chance you’ll not get the answer you need on a forum . I’m also a great believer in NOT screwing about with TM Recoils bar swapping to a deans on AK’s , Scar’s , Socom’s and G36’s and getting rid of the QC batteries in the M4 platforms . I’m VERY skeptical that you could upgrade a cheaper gun to run better than a TM EBB out of the box for less , very skeptical indeed . You wouldn’t have any trouble hopping up to a .28 through them either , just the speed the bb will be traveling at will decrease so your target will have more of a chance to dodge it if they see it coming .

    Sniper suggestions?

Only advice to throw on the pile is to get the internals as you want them before spunking cash up the wall on externals. It doesn't matter how nice it looks, if you can't hit a barn door with a banjo you're not going to want to use it for very long. It's worth doing some hunting on YouTube as to what's involved with upgrading and fettling, you can figure out from there if it's something you'd want to do yourself. If it turns out to not be something you want to do something like the TAC/SRS/T11/SSG would probably be a wiser choice than a VSR. Having used or owned most of them, it's much of muchness in my opinion. Spend hours and hours (and a small fortune) so you can take the nuts off a fly at 70m to spend most of your time shooting things within 50-60m (or as is frequently my experience, within MED having to use your sidearm). I will say I personally think teching your own bolties should be something you invest some time into learning how to do it, gradually building knowledge of what things do and don't mess with your air seal/consistency/accuracy/smoothness of bolt pull etc etc. But I get that it isn't for everyone. Granted this comes with a degree of hypocrisy, I do all my own tech work on HPA, GBB(R) and springers but wouldn't touch the insides of an AEG with a barge pole. We all have our comfort zones 🤷‍♂️.
