I voted to leave! I've not been inconvenienced in the slightest because of it. I buy what I need in this country,Great Britain, and if they ain't got it then I don't get it. We can look after ourselves but we have been conditioned to believe that we can't. I know this isn't gonna sit well with a lot of folk but it's what I live by. English and proud! 🇬🇧 Regards

  2. Basically what the title says , not just on this forum though but it’s pretty much on all sales forums . You’d think when their ‘100% pukka seal team 6 3/4’ers chest rig’ still hasn’t sold at their asking price for mths and mths that the 5watt bulb would start to flicker ? but nope not a chance , week in week out these sellers just keep on reposting it without dropping the price and refusing to accept lower offers for it . if it hasn’t sold at the price you think it’s worth after 6/7/8/9ths/etc (Christ there’s one seller on zeromong who’s got multiple items that are on3-4 pages of bumps because he won’t drop his prices) so don’t they think it’s time to either drop the price or give up tormenting them selves with unachievable prices ?😳

  3. Hi everyone, After years of not being able to relate to my 12 year old sons computer passion (fortnite/Minecraft) we've bonded over this amazing hobby, we sit chatting for hours about things and it really has brought us so much closer. I'm now in the position to drop a bit of cash on setting me and my son ul with the idea that we can talk to each other (comms) and stream our sessions on twitch/youtube and Facebook. So I thought I would setup a thread to discuss gear and share our journey on streaming/recording combining both our passions (computers/milsim). There's a few reasons I wanted to start a thread so I can avoid having to buy something twice and get your valuable input on getting a decent setup. For example avoiding buying a helmet to only find out that there is a better helmet that allows mounted cameras. The second reason is to meet new people, find new sites and travel the country with my lad collecting bruises as souvenirs. To start with id like to discuss my current thoughts on rifles/eye/face and head. But I'd love you to ask any questions aswell. So here goes: RIFLES: So far I've been loving the look of the evo, my son tried somebodies Valken ASL and loved it, its cheap but I was impressed with it. Is there any considerations I should be making or are these two good choices. Will they allow camera mounts in the future, are parts easily sourced etc or should I steer clear of the cheaper valken? The evo seems a solid choice so I'm set on that I think. Eye/face protection. I'm just going to run a mesh shield and some glasses (rated for airsoft) but my sons experience is important whilst needing a full face. Were both crazy nutcases who just respawn over and over and over again which involves sweating. I was going to get him the DYE i4 face mask as it seems very hard to fog up and offers him the protection needed, will this fit him being an average 12 year old if not are there any recommendations or thoughts? Fog really is a huge factor currently using rental gear and is ruining his experience somewhat. HEADGEAR/ so we both need helmets I presume. That way it allows cameras to record/stream our pov, i havent looked into these but any recommendations on helmets that allow for the dye i4 to fit aswell as some sort of radio (comms) would be appreciated. Thanks for reading, I look forward to your responses, go easy on me. Truccka.

  7. I think we (& many other pastimes like ours) are getting fucked over from both sides, our own government has realised how much tax revenue has been slipping through, & is determined to get every penny it can from now on, hence the Draconian new rules on vat collected at source etc. On the flip side the EU wants to concede nothing, if the UK comes out looking like a winner, even slightly better off, then others may want to follow our example, especially since in recent years some of those who took the piss (Bunga Bunga etc), are now facing EU scrutiny & accountability on their own gravytrains, taking back their own laws look very inviting. Unfortunately we're just a cash cow for one & collateral damage for the other ☹️ As for being part of a masterplan to ban Airsoft, highly unlikely given the fact they now know how much we're prepared to spend on our toys, if public safety/health was the issue then they could have just as easily ban booze & fags, but we all know the answer there LOL.😏

  11. Picked up this cheeky little thing earlier this week. Stuck a 180mm crazyjet in there and now it’s running at site limits with my regulator set to 105psi. The noise this thing makes In full auto is insane and I’m pretty sure the kick from the blowback could work fillings out! Bodged the obligatory drum mag so it’s useable while I’ve only got one mag EDIT - Because ambiguous post is ambiguous, it’s a GHK G5

  14. In Hungary, my country of origin, they have 400 fps on normal stuff 500 fps DMR, 20m MED, single shot 600 fps boltie, 20m MED The engagements aren't any different than here, just everything happen about 5 meters farther. The game culture is very different. Sites are much bigger, it's always working in squads with objectives, almost always there's a side commander coordinating the squads, there are dedicated medics and most importantly at least 6 hours game days with no breaks.

  19. My theory is that they don't really want to sell. They only listed because their missus ordered them to get back what they (actually) paid for their toys, even if they paid over the odds. Then they get caught up in a dick-measuring contest about not taking one penny less than their asking price.

  20. that mean i can bomb down the motorway at 100mph and if the cops pull me over just say "i was aiming for 70"? the limit is the limit, any variance is between [actual empirical velocity of bb according to physics] and [what chrono says bb velocity is] which we generally take to be an acceptable error for a working chrono (although as is the topic here how does one be sure if it isn't properly calibrated) this is indeed true, and part of why being a few fps under the limit isn't the worst idea given how if said battered and tatty chrono is out by 1fps site will the see the reading and say "begone foul cheater most depraved and despicable of creatures, may you be forever banished from this place and a curse laid upon your house unto the 7th generation" meanwhile next in line, jerry joule creep sails on through..... they might not understand it but come hell or high water they're gonna enforce the shit out of the bit they do understand....... god that sounded bitter

Yeah you are if the government want to shut down Airsoft they will just do it. they won't bother with clandestine shit. Brexit has screwed up importing anything it will most like be years for things to settle and we may never get back to what it was before.

I think it's more likely that a lot more people discovered Airsoft during the lockdowns, wanted an RIF and decided to try buying from abroad as no UK retailers will sell one to them without a valid defence... and then Border Force noticed an increase in people attempting to import RIFs without a defence & stepped up checks as a result.

  26. They're colloquially called "Shooter's Belts" All based on either the Eagle or Ronin belts. In the UK you have two top notch manufacturers, FRV and TacBelts. You could go with Emerson/FMA clones, but from what I've seen over here, they're just as expensive as FRVs but with the obvious lack of quality.

  27. Is it feeding? If it is maybe just accepted it wobbles. If you can't the loop side of Velcro would be better you can melt it to fit. Ideally If you are holding a gun straight the mag should drop free due to gravity when the mag release is pressed.

Completely agree dude. There should be more availability now places are opening out a little more as well. I'm pretty pinned for the August month (kid duties as it's 6 weeks) but after that should be quite flexible. Maybe look for a site mid way between? Where abouts roughly are you as I'm Derbyshire based.

  30. The Dye is good for not fogging, as long as you keep the airflow clear which is true for pretty much any half decent goggles/glasses. The thing with Dye style masks though is that if you wear a helmet with them they come right up under the front edge of the helmet and that chokes off the airflow. There's a few videos out there about how you can mod a FAST style helmet to work with a Dye mask (this is literally the first one I found on Google ) ) Or you could go for a Warq helmet as it's designed as a whole unit from the outset https://warq.eu/en/

  32. UK airsoft is just fine. It's a decent mix of rentals and noobs, Dye and Crye babies, geardos, Walts, and the actual airsoft veterans in jeans with random brand NBBs or a scruffy AK non-ironically held together with duct tape, all playing more-or-less happily together. Power levels are fine too. I wouldn't be fussed if they went a bit higher, but they're not going there. Auto guns and bolties are both usable and distinctive. There's some debate over DMRs, in terms of both power and power-play abuse of them, but it's not a huge drama and sites are free to fiddle with their rules, or bin them off altogether. When I hear about the competitive stuff from Italy, or huge sites and squad play from Hungary, nah, not for me, thanks, let alone the roid-rage flip-out-and-fite-IRL tosh from the Colonies. I've enjoyed a couple of light filmsims, but for a regular Sunday I'm fine with short games, short walks, lots of shooting toy guns and maybe playing a bit of dress-up, without some Major Issues barking orders at me.

  33. Yes, that's moronic. No outdoor site should be chronoing on 0.2g, and I wish they'd stop talking and thinking in terms of fps. The biggest cause for complaint I can see above is a marshal not asking what weight of BB was being used. But then I've ranted elsewhere about quis custodiet ipsos custodes.

  38. I've only been to Anzio twice but won't be going back for a while. Jamie who runs the place, acts like a power mad war lord. To paraphrase him "It's upto you to make sure your gun is site legal before you turn up, chrono at the start of the day isn't mandatory but we'll do random checks throughout the day and if caught running hot, your out of here" So in theory I could rock up with my MTW, turn the reg right up, cause some damage to some poor soul and unless I get grassed up or random checked, not get caught. The first time I went, I got asked for 1 random chrono but wasn't asked what weight I was using, just fired into it and the lad just wondered off. My 2nd visit I didn't chrono at all. Set my reg the night before and took my chrono with me. Tested it in the game area before the brief. The mission briefing is the worst. He briefs the first and second game objective together after the quite lengthy safety brief and then picks on a random person to see if they were paying attention. You can see him get a chub on if someone gets it wrong!! Its quite a big site with lots of similar looking buildings so knowing that I've got to get a bomb from "D3 to the pub" on my first time there isn't really going to sink in. Plus then you've got to remember the mission after as well. I did ask a marshall what was happening now and they clearly didn't know, just said erm well everyone's going that way so I'd suggest following them!! Ah rant over. Anyway, I'm a KM fan boy so feel free to disregard everything I've just said. As a group we've agreed to go back one more time and just play one long day of room clearing. I'll ditch my KMCS suit and equip my Dye mask! Ensuring the dirty looks stay consistent from my previous visits 😂😂

  39. yep. you can be wearing jeans and a t-shirt and still be hidden if you're able to be where the other guy isn't looking. likewise you can be a perfect rendition of a hedge but walking around the middle of the field attracting every shot going. never worn a ghillie primarily because it's hot, sweaty, keeps getting caught on everything and is just generally annoying.
    1 point
  40. First thing I will say is that it's not the ghillie suit that makes the sniper hard to deal with, it's the player's fieldcraft. If the ghillie sniper can't do their role pretty much as effectively without the ghillie, then they need to take it off and practice their camo and concealment until they can do their job and have players almost tripping over without using the ghillie (if more people did this, they'd find they'd be waaaaaay more effective with the ghillie. It's like training with weighted clothing in DBZ ). Am I a jerk for thinking so? Maybe, but I also won't fault these players for playing how they want; that's what the hobby is all about, after all. I think the most important thing to say is prey upon their weaknesses. What I've found observing most bush wookiees in a counter sniper role is that they either move way too much or way too little. If they move too much, you see them and then it's just a case of suppressing them and advancing on their position to flush them out. If they move too little, you'll quickly be able to work out where they are and do the same, maybe with the help of smoke grenades or tag rounds. Also, if they're using a spring rifle, there's still usually a decent amount of noise unless they've really tuned it super well (which is rare), and also their bolt pull will be long, so look for that movement too. I would say to use their MED and slow ROF against them by moving and engaging their position with suppressive fire, but I've seen a lot of experienced bush wookiees moving away from bolties and toward 1J HPA setups as they still get the silence, but they get rid of the weaknesses of the bolt action platform. Personally, once I've cleared my debts, I'm shoving a Polarstar F2 into one of my m14s and relegating the VSR to a backup gun. As a bush wookiee myself, I'll say the following for the majority of bush wookiees you'll be up against, in addition to the movement point above (most have already been said, but I figured I'd post up my views anyway): Don't go to where your mate just got hit. The number of times I get multiple people because I hit someone and their friend either moves over to try and medic them immediately, or they move to take the cover their friend previously was. If they got hit behind that cover, it means someone has a line on it. Move. Move. MOVE! Seriously, it's hard to hit shots on running targets and I'll usually just follow the target until they either move out of my line of sight, or they stop. This is harder if there are other players with AEGs around as they'll full auto your path and hit you, but if the sniper is being silly and being the hollywood "lone wolf" then if you keep moving you just won't get hit. BBs are about as consistent as a WE pistol in winter and the shot will go wide if there's a breeze or a leaf in the way, and trying to lead shots is difficult even in the best conditions (not impossible, but it makes the shot a lot harder). Play the objective. Usually, snipers won't be holding the objective directly if it's like a base defense or something, because as a sniper you want to be where the enemy won't think you are. If there is a sniper in the base, then you know where they are and you just suppress them until you get close enough to hit them, which these days isn't much since hop ups are so good now that AEGs are shooting closer and closer to bolties. If the sniper isn't in the base and he hits you, don't go back to where you were attacking that time and instead push the objective from the other side. If the sniper is covering an objective like a flip can, think about where you got hit from and move to flank them instead. It's super hard to shoot someone behind you covertly when you're lying prone with a boltie, so you either have to let the flanking players pass (and probably take out a lot of your team) or you try and shoot them all super fast, which if there's more than one person you probably won't have much success. If you know where the sniper is and they're not smart enough to have relocated, move around the position or fire and move to keep them suppressed as you close the gap. Most hides are awful when it comes to line of sight, because you need a bunch of stuff in the way for concealment. Usually, the sniper will only have one line that they're watching, so approach from their blind spot, or fire and move (quickly) to flush them out. It's hard to repel an attacking fire team with a boltie if they know where you are and are suppressing your position. However, there are a few things that ghillie snipers will do to counter this. Some will carry a small AEG around with them, some will strike the right balance between moving too much or too little, some will run 1J HPA platforms for both silence and no MED. However, nobody is invincible without cheating. When dealing with a sniper, think about their limitations and the limitations of their current position and exploit what weaknesses you can.
    1 point
  41. So far ive found the best counters to be suppressive fire from an lmg or pinning them behind cover with a dmr until someone can flank round for the kill. Or as has been said get a few of you together and rush them, there slow ROF and MED should give you an advantage.

Yikes. I think I'm just going to stop ordering anything remotely RIF like from abroad. Yes you can potentially save 10% or so if you're fortunate enough it doesn't get pulled for inspection but I'd rather just have it quickly and with an easier avenue or resolution if something goes wrong.

  43. I'd leapt and bounded to the conclusion that not "proving" you'd passed chrono means that they have chronos available for those with the wit and inclination to use them, rather than them putting on the safety theatre performance of pretending that everybody has done so. If that's wrong and they don't have chronos available before play then I'll cheerfully reverse direction and shout "Boo, burn the witches!"

  44. This people getting over shot or moaning due to head shots because only their head is showing? Today i learned that i should just buy ammo on site if i am on public transport, more space for water/sports/salts drinks. Seriously i did 5lt yesterday in prep for today and still did 8lt water and 1lt (2x500ml) lucazade before leaving site. There were some today that were not hydrating as they should. Also learnt i really enjoy the cqb. Not the loose collection of structures some call a 'village' but the full on "small but perfectly formed" Red 1 Chiselhurst. So intense. I also reaffermmed i enjoy the look on peoples faces when tell them how much my toy gun cost after desicivally beating them in a firefight.

  47. If the seller is being unreasonable you can always take steps to address this. Learn what you can do here: Consumer rights - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). As for FRV Tailoring themselves, last time I ordered was about 2 years ago, and they served me promptly. I'm not sure what's going on but their communication used to be on point. I guess their customer service must have take a covid-induced hit recently. I assume you've tried emailing and calling, as well as approaching them on social media? Poor communication is not an excuse for them to be ghosting people, even if they are in the process of shifting to new facilities.
