Some WWII stuff Tanaka Arisaka Type44 Cavalry G&G M1903 converted to USMC Sniper version using a realsteel C-stock, Unertl reproduction scope and several realsteel metal parts:5 points

Yes they do 😁 Little bit of fettling required to get them on, and they dont fit with the right hand safety. I removed mine rather than cut the grips and I've ordered the single safety to fit at some point. Also worth noting that grips for models with the lanyard pin are different to ones without. Helstom rooted through thier grips for me to find 2 sets with the correct lanyard cutout. Happy with the look, prefer them to the late ones it comes with. Now on to trades !3 points

Yeh, it's a Crosman Co2. I wanted reasonably accurate chrono readings so I can keep it within legal limits. TBH, looking into it, it's a bit of a faff though just to gain a couple extra ft/lb. He's only had the thing for a week. A classic case of upgrade-itus. He would probably be a TM NGRS owner if he was 30 years younger... Yeh, I had one of those Combros many, many moons ago. This was before the likes of UFpro, Xcortech or even Madbull making reasonably cheap airsoft Chronos. The Combro Works okay-ish for airsoft assuming that you could fit it onto the flashhider. Nowhere near as convenient to use though as you have to reset between shots, and no ROF readings. But at a basic level, it gets the job done.2 points -

Yea I luckily saw this on prefired as I was in the market for a new pew. Most sold so I put the question on his advert, no response so a few hours later I reported the post with a link to the original sales link. I just bought the mp7 above for £235.00. Chap lives a short drive away, I'm picking up Saturday. Really nice guy actually. I explained that unless its sealed, its not brand new and normally goes to 60-70% of the original price, which he didn't know.2 points -

Try Googling the combro cb625, I was in the same boat with a Wembley Vulcan given to me by a mate, first thing I did (of course) was chrono it. Came out at 9 ft/lb thankfully so all in the clear. It’ll also do airsoft stuff so I’ll be using that when it comes to that first post UKARA purchase. Also only 40 quid...2 points -

Quick favour to ask... I seem to have lost the Allen key that undoes the grub screw that holds the barrel in to the hop assembly and despite having a whole draw full of bloody Allen keys I can’t find another one that fits they are either too small or too big. Can anyone confirm what the size is and have any idea where I can buy a single Allen key rather than another whole set? Edit: Never Mind found one. It’s a 16th of an inch if anyone cares.2 points -
Hi I was chatting about the hay days of airsoft, when there seemed to be a lot more sites available to use for airsoft. Most have gone the ways of housing estates, which appears to be the grave for most fun locations. So for me. If anyone gives a fuck. Crickhowell - By Stirling Airsoft. https://www.beacons-npa.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/Enclosure-7-Cwrt-y-Gollen-Draft-Development-Brief-12th-may1.pdf This was our regular monthly site and quite frankly has never been beaten. Old Welsh Guard base. Lots of proper mixed use buildings with multiple entry points, varied size rooms, court yards, stair cases. Surrounded by forest and fields. You never ever got a point that you couldn't flank with enough effort and the buildings were just so amazing to fight through.. It brings a tear to my eye that it got shut down to be made into housing. We had access for a good few years and back then the games were run as short story-lined games. Designed with an heavy element of role play but not much more than to give you reason to fight over an objective. The games were always fast, hard and well run. The level of game play was always high and with better class of player than you tend to see today. I think of all the games there, we only ever had a couple of bad eggs and a idiot Liverpudlian, who decided to blow their hand up by throwing back a lit pyro. Light Fighter Sheffield Next Site that I only ever played on once, was way tup north. At an old factory complex, run joint by Light Fighter Airsoft and Stirling Airsoft. It was huge, varied and just incredible to play at. Much the same reason why Crickhowell was so good. Lots of proper buildings, lots of flanking and varied terrain mean you could move tactically and could fight into an area with enough determination, without it being unacceptable because it was a kill box. The Mall - Reading ( earlier days ) Visited this site a bunch of times. Nice and local. Lots of fun and really just worked well as an airsoft site. I went here probably 6-7 times over its lifespan and it is a real shame it is now gone. Really novel place to fight, lots of fun routes in and around the shops. Great little sneak routes, where light discipline was essential. Not sure what happened but it got spoiled by some cheating fuck nuggets. So after one event myself and the rest of the team just packed up and went home, it was just shitty. I went back about 3-4 months later and was mostly filled with filthy casuals, who were there for the yucks and not the game play. Didn't bother again after that. So yeah, that filled 15 mins of my quiet afternoon, while I let a vendor talk to my partners about something really not that interesting to most of you What are your favourite now gone locations and do any of you share the same memories of these sites? Cheers Groot1 point

Many of my fondest airsofting memories are from Urban Assault (RAF Upwood). Certainly helped by the fact is was fairly local to me but it had a superb mix of CQB and more open outdoor spaces, and this was helped by general good use of the site as a whole during games. I think the latter was the ‘special sauce’ for me. There are sites that are a somewhat similar layout (Anzio Camp being an example that I’ve been to relatively recently), but I often feel the buildings are a bit overused throughout the day. Insisting they are used by having objectives in them, or points to defend rather than allowing the site as a whole to breathe a bit and allow players to use different parts of it. The site definitely gradually go worse as more of it fell into disrepair, but it’s certainly the site that got me hooked. I believe it only closed it’s doors relatively recently but I hadn’t been in years. Though they likely wouldn’t remember me at all, Frank (owner of Firesupport?) and Ian (I believe the ‘head marshall’ through most of my time attending, but I could be wrong) were both always willing to help when I was a young ‘un initially getting into the game. The more I think about, the more influential that site was on my continued interest in airsoft on the whole.1 point

Prime Airsoft Tech: AEG Tech Based in North West England
Shamal reacted to witchcraft58a for a topic
After reading this post i contacted Max to do some work on my VFC 416 AEG, i have to say that i'm massively impressed with the service i received and i would thoroughly recommend him. Prior to this i'd spoken to a number of different techs, inc. at established stores, no one really seemed too interested in conducting the work I wanted, and advising me on the best outcomes. The conversation with Max was easy, he listened to my ideas and suggested different ways to achieve my goal. We settled on a build and agreed some areas where additional work could/should be conducted once the gear box was opened, particularly i wanted to eliminate some of the known VFC weak points, cylinder, tappet plate etc. Communication throughout the work/build was exceptional, Max provided sound advice that went way above and beyond my limited tech experience. The VFC is my only AEG and was my first RIF a number of years ago, its served me well, but needed some tlc, i wanted a 'bomb proof' gearbox build emphasising trigger response. Key work : - Cleaned & serviced. - Re-shimmed with high speed gears, short stroked. - Gate warfet and wiring inc. modifying the gearbox shell. - Retro arms trigger inc. required adjustments and modifications. - Replaced tappet plate, piston/compression assembly, alu nozzle, spring. - Gearbox radius. - New high torque motor. - AOE correction. I got max to do some other stuff too like re-wiring my batteries to Deans etc. and play around with a ProWin hop and barrel that i couldn't get working. We agreed 6 hour labour, parts were at cost. I appreciate you can go to great lengths with components to get crazy DSG builds etc, but for me this was all about balance, the improvement in performance on the VFC is crazy good, the build feels robust and for my needs its perfect at a good price point. Cheers Max, appreciate all your efforts!1 point -

Advice for comms/headset
GeorgePlaysAirsoft reacted to dykm2 for a topic
So most people on my team started with the in ear cheapo things that last 5 mins, then a £15 throat mic because they're cool but found no-one could hear you, then a £25 bowman which are cheap and clear but don't offer any hearing protection and several of our guys have had nasty incidents with excessively loud pyro, then £65 earmore or wosport headsets with talk through which allows you to hear your surroundings and do Comms but the cables are fragile. I must have fixed every earmore and wosport on the team several times. I think most people follow a similar route. Haven't tried them yet but the tacsky comtacs look like a decent quality clone at £100-£120. Genuine peltor headsets are £500-600. I use peltor at work, nice kit but £££! I've since started converting real steel Racal Frontier headsets to work with civvy radios. There's some seriously nice Kevlar reinforced, over braided, double shielded over engineered mil spec cables on these! Mmmm nerdgasm! They have electronic ambient sound talk through, deliver Comms into your left ear and the Comms microphone actually picks up your voice from inside your right ear, even at a whisper, so no boom mic tangled in your face pro or earmuffs messing up your cheek weld. Fancy!1 point -
As some of you asked for fotos of my collection, I took a few pics 🙂 We restored a house a few years ago and I got the rare opportunity to turn a room into my personal little "museum". The only downside: The showcases are full already... 😅 As mentioned in the new members thread, I'm a collector for quite some time now and I'm interested in anything that's odd / old / rare / shellejecting / japanese / gasdriven in general and recently got a knack for a bit more steel here and there. Unfortunately, the showcases in the middle still lack lighting 😑 Disclaimer: Everything in that room is legal and according to german laws, the guns themselves aswell as the showcases, which are locked, when I'm not there. The guns outside the showcases are 0.5 joules, so they don't fall under german gun laws, but are categorized as toys.1 point

Open to suggestion and offers of course. Totalled up the costs and went at roughly 70% as per usual guidelines. Its a reluctant sale also due to job loss.0 points
