To be fair I've not done this with either of mine and havn't had any problems with bolt locking back on empty. But it's certainly an easy fix if you do.

This was a project and a half. Tokyo Marui MK46 MOD 0. It had the wrong flash hider, broken front sight, missing comfort grips on the front handguard, missing foot from the bipod, broken recoil mech and didn't feed properly oh and it was spray painted in desert colours. After much scrubbing, 3D designing the recoil mech and comfort grips and general tinkering it's finished (apart from I'm looking for the correct front sight and maybe some original comfort grips)

  12. Finally got around to sorting my leaky mk23 mags. They were sitting around doing nothing, so I tried my hand; best case I fix them, worst case they stay broken. Filled the pressure valve with epoxy (stupid design!) and replaced the o-rings with silicone gasket and I am now back up to 5 mk23 mags as they're gas tight again!

  14. Following our recent adventure oop north as described in Weeble200's post above, I spent today at Tower Airsoft, one of my regular sites in the sarf east. About 50 people were present to indulge in shooting each other with little plastic balls. For a change, the games were organised by the team from Airsoft Plantation, Tower's big brother at the other end of the wood. We started off with a simple ambush game which, as the name suggests, involved one team ambushing the other as they patrolled along the road through the site. The patrolling team's key rule of engagement was that they had to stay on the road and could not shoot until engaged by the ambushers; once that had happened, they were free to return fire and go wherever they wanted. Patrollers had infinite regens on a marshal, whereas the ambushers only had one life. I was dubious about the game at first, but it turned out to be rather fun, with both teams getting a go at being the ambushers and the ambushees; the team that cleared the ambushers out in the fastest time form the first shot being fired were the winners, with a one minute penalty for each ambusher still alive after the area had been declared clear by the patrollers. After that, we played the first leg of a longer game using the whole site. The concept was that the attacking team had been parachuted in ahead of a seaborne invasion with a mission to destroy a road via which the enemy would receive reinforcements, a comms centre, and a vital bridge. In order to destroy these, the attacking team had a designated demolition specialist, equipped with electrically triggered smoke grenades (no bangs allowed at Tower due to the proximity of neighbours), an electric detonator and a remote control. They could attack them in any order they wanted but had to start dispersed across the site out of sight of each other as a result of the drop. The defenders had to start around the road. Both sides had infinite buddy regens at the start; however, once two objectives were destroyed, the defenders were down to two lives as no further reinforcements could get through. We were the attackers and the group of about five of us who banded together after our dispersed drop decided to try to draw as many of the enemy as possible onto us rather than onto the team with the demolition specialist. This was successful as we spent a lot of the hour engaging much larger groups of the enemy and all targets were destroyed. After lunch, we played a fallback game, defending the road, then the castle area and, finally, the church. The enemy captured the road and the castle, but not the church. This was then reversed and we captured all three. We then played the reverse of the paratroopers game, with us as the defenders. I will draw a veil over this game, except to note that, despite some great play, we got walloped. It was a good, fun day with great play from both teams and no significant issues apart from my M4 deciding yet again not to feed from most of the magazines that it had happily fed from on Friday evening; it seemed to only like the PTS PMags. However, I have now modified some other mags that should now feed perfectly in it, although I suspect that it will still find a way to reject them. I also bought a cheap Double Eagle shotgun from the site shop and got a kill with my third shot from it; it shoots at 1J and has excellent range; great fun. Weapons used: Lancer Tactical M4 (upgraded and being used as a testbed for the CHiLUN mosfet) Classic Army ISSC MK22 (who the heck decided that the world needs a .22 SCAR?) 15. If it's non-functional you'd want to list it here in the boneyard section (irrelevant of worth, if it doesn't work, it's a boneyard). If it's still functional but requiring parts then here while being as honest as you possibly can about what is required. Worth noting that you should expect to loose a fair amount on the sale for no other reason than bolt actions just depreciate in value more than pretty much anything else. There is a large difference between 'putting aftermarket parts into a rif' and 'upgrading a rif', the biggest example of that being on bolties. Usual rate for a fully functioning replica is 60-70% of RRP, bolt actions tend to be 50-60%, bolt actions with known issues... I imagine you can see where I'm going with this. Just set your expectations reasonably.

The only problem with these is people will think they're nicked from a base rofl. In some of your other close up shots I could just about see the tiny things that show they're airsoft iirc, but if you showed 99% of small arms qual'd service members these pics they'd assume they're real, and not just real but been in an armoury rotation/active use for 35 years+. The worn paint pen, dymo labels and athena tags are a crazy good combo in terms of replication.

  17. In my book the only thing better than an MWS, is a pair of MWS. Sharing the same mags/BCG is handy. Having said that, I’m enjoying my GHK AK running on CO2 in the cold weather. So to answer your question, no I don’t carry boring electric guns as insurance - you’ve got to commit to gas. I really really enjoy playing airsoft with the difficulty set to hard level, with all the challenges of GBBR’s. 15+ years into the hobby, it gives me satisfaction to hand some HPA spray and pray try hard his arse by moving more carefully and only taking shots when there’s a high probability of hitting. Much fun.

  22. Ended up with a cyma platinum and whilst it's not a mp5a5 by any means, I am extremely happy with it. I got it from the site I marshal at and with my discount it was a steal. Ran beautifully all day today on a 7.4, and the semi response was snappy and healthy. Time will tell, but so far I'm very pleased 😀

  26. i can see breaking tappet plates if they're being engaged at full speed by a motor that's not been braked by a mainspring, but can't see the closing side having issues. if anything the reverse, as it gives the tappet plate the most time to return to battery after release before the mainspring is unleashed. but as you say weird things happening is inevitable, stuff that should shoot fine is all over the place and stuff that's nothing to write home about can punch well above its weight.

    THE TM MWS thread

^ this if the gas can is warmer than the vessel you’re intending to fill, the liquid gas will spill into the magazine more consistently than if they were both at the same temperature. You might’ve found before in the safe zone where you swear blind you charged a solid 10+ seconds on your mags, and you get 10 weak shots (if that) before it flames out. If they’re both the same temp, it can equalise pressure between them and not transfer anything at all.

  31. I personally would never go with the TM NGRS because I like to tweak my gats. The NGRS is great if you want to use it for CQB, never use it in heavy rain and do absolutely nothing to it (even more so than the regular "never 'upgrade' your TM guns"). My friend has one and the MOSFET is buggered with no apparent replacement, as he took it to AI500 a year or so ago, the first one at the Citadel in Dover where the heavens absolutely opened up and they had to stop early because roof tiles started falling from the structures, and the rain destroyed the MOSFET. Also, it uses AEP rubbers which aren't as good as what you can get in regular AEG rubbers. Double also, our local airsoft tech had a look at it for him and says he's never working on one because apparently the gearbox has fiddly magnets everywhere and it's just not worth it for him. He's probably just going to send it to Eagle6 to get it sorted as they're probably his best chance. Obviously everyone's mileage may vary, but the most direct experience I have of someone having one has not been great. The NGRS mp5 is lovely to hold and use (that HK slap on reloads 🥰) and will hit 45 - 50m out of the box, which is fine but you won't squeeze much more out of it. I was super tempted to get one for CQB, but I'll stick with my gas mp9 and future gas mp7 unless I move somewhere that does CQB outdoors in Oslo or something where temperatures get very low Personally, I'd go with a Cyma because I'm a horrible Cyma shill these days. I have a Cyma mp5k and it's a wonderful little gat; I have had absolutely zero issues with mine outside of the rear sling loop being a bit crap if you want to run a one-point sling on it. Part of the receiver has snapped so without the butt plate on it comes apart and there's a little wobble in it when it's all together, but that's expected as it fell on concrete while I was running and discovering that a one-point sling on that crappy sling loop was a bad thing. Still works flawlessly though! I changed out the hop rubber and nub for my usual Maple Leaf setup and it's amazing; no gearbox mods needed and it's hitting out to 60m fairly consistently (not accurately, but a quick burst of full auto will hit the target at least once). I recommended a Cyma mp5 to a friend at my local site and he loves it too and he's using it for woodland, not CQB, though the stock MOSFET in his died but he got it replaced for free with Patrol Base (it's a platinum version).

  33. I can kinda vouch for the KWA recoil guns? I owned a PTS Centurion arms CM4 a few years ago that was OEM'd by KWA that felt absolutely amazing to use, in fact I got a chance to use a friend of a friend's KWA Ronin T10 on Sunday there at a skirmish and was impressed by how well it felt and performed that I went and bought one from BZPaintball yesterday afternoon which just arrived a few hours ago. Gotta say I vastly prefer the KWA over the few TM NGRS gun's I've had the opportunity to shoot over the past few years, definitely a noticeable difference between the two. Biggest downside really is the lack of a stop fire on empty function which I remember being a great feature on my Centurion arms, though I can avoid having to buy £20 proprietary mid caps because of this.

  35. Those are OpsCore AMP Arms, or a clone of them. They're a fantastic bit of kit and IMO both hold earpro a bit more evenly on the head and are easier to swivel off the head than the two-prong wire ones that attach to the top rail. Plus they allow you to use your upper rails for whatever.

  40. Updated my ww1 uniform end of last month. Using information supplied to me by my local museum, I have made and added unit identifier patches to signify A company, 7th service battalion Northamptonshire regiment of the 24th infantry division, to make the uniform look less plain, though I may need to trim the yellow saltire down a little.. I even have a pair of original brass "Northapton" shoulder titles on the shoulder tabs and an original Northamptonshire regiment cap badge on my cap (though it may need relocating slightly to sit flush on my cap) 1908 webbing needs minor adjustments to fit better, and I have had to make a concession and add a 37 pattern webley holster so I can carry a sidearm, as my Lee enfield has been upgraded and now has a MED.

Couple more of my matching(ish) pairs. First up is my Samson B-TM with a Ruger MK4 style AAP. And then a recent one that I think is finished now, a G&P WA system Semi only SR15 and Airsoft Masterpiece Infinity 2011. The SR15 handles beautifully and the old school roller bolt makes a glorious noise! Yes, I’m aware it’s got a MP5 mag in it… necessary evil for us Sodastream Ghostbuster players

  44. "Downed Airman" Vietnam kit is just about done - close enough to share at least. I still need a faithful shotshell pouch and due to the EPM-1S mags being taller than standard 20 rounders I need to either get 30 round mag pouches or general small arms mag pouches - still undecided on those. Also waiting for helmet parts to arrive - some missing bolts, fresh straps and foam, etc but none of that is visible so itll look the same as it does now. Ill actually play with it with the visor up and proper eyepro instead, but for pics visor down is Ace.
