What is good eye pro to replace my Bolle X800?
RostokMcSpoons and one other reacted to Lozart for a topic
So you actually need to take the foam dust filter OFF the vent strips to stop them from fogging, the bit where the BB can get in is that to REALLY open them up to vent you basically pull the lens unit forward and the outer edge hinges open. There's definitely better options out there. If you can afford them, get fan goggles (ESS Profile Turbofan or Revision Desert Locust with fan). Or just buy some decent mesh ones from our very own @heroshark I'm currently running Bolle X810 goggles and I have to be honest but I fail to see how a BB got in there if he was wearing them properly.2 points -
Pts pmags - ngrs (not epm etc)
BigAl reacted to Emergencychimps for an advert
This advert is COMPLETED!
- For sale or swap
- Used
For sale are 6 original 120 round pts pmags. These are not epm mags or pmags with the 82 rounder inserts. These are the original pmags. 5 are tan, 1 is black. All have been painted and one has had 98(ish)% cleaned off. 2 have that corner bit broken off, which is common and doesn't impact the functionality at all. Springs are all in tip top condition and they activate the bolt stop as expected. Looking for £190 all on postage and PayPal included or £35 a mag posted and paypalled. Would prefer to go in one sale. These mags did (for a time) swap hands for £50 each. I am looking to get an mws, so if you're swapping from an mws to a tm ngrs recoil let's talk about swaps.£175

Via their Failbook account. Their Supreme Court's ruling on constitutional carry seems to have sent NYPD deranged. Off topic because airsoft has apparently already long since fallen foul of their Antipodean antipathy to assault-style toys. I guess they already class those as air rifles, which they would be here too without our exception. Note that they don't mention energy levels, or projectiles, just "spring-loaded air pump" = air rifle = weapon = summary execution by gunshot to the head (or similar). What they apparently haven't noticed, but half the commentards have, is that Nerf uses a sprung piston, so should be equally as criminal. This ought to make for some interesting lawsuits. It did prompt me to wonder what the UK situation is with gel blasters. They don't enjoy airsoft's S57A exemption because they're not "designed to discharge only a small plastic missile". So if they can auto anything - and as the kids say, if it seats, it yeets - at over 1J then they're lethal barrelled and get bumped to Section 5, right? Unless they argue the apocryphal "frangible projectile" exemption for paintball markers that I've heard mooted but have never looked up. At this point it's just a game of who's going to be triggered into banning what sort of trigger-related fun next.1 point

New York City criminalises gel blasters, but haven't finished the thought
Rogerborg reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
given that air rifles can also operate from a pumped or pre-charged compressed air supply does that also make these illegal? i guess we maybe don't see them as much here given nerf serves the younger market up until they're at airsofting age. not like our Australian cousins who have to use it as a way around airsoft being disallowed. one does wonder, surely it's a good thing for countries not keen on civilian firearm ownership to allow the likes of airsoft as a safer means for those who enjoy shooting derivative sports?1 point -

Rogerborg reacted to truckinthumper for a topic
Actually, they are all about permission to own any firearms. They want to undermine our laws (US Constitution) every chance they get. Its insanity to me, but I like abiding by actual law. LOL1 point -
So you can own a shogun or rifle without license or permit in New York, but you can’t own a bead blaster, what a nonsense.1 point

That's in your day to day diet, not during exercise. Obviously an excess intake of sugar over time is going to have negative effect What we're discussing here is refueling during exercise. When we do intense exercise we get our energy from blood sugar (glucose) which is converted to glycogen. When glycogen levels are depleted we feel tired and the quickest way to top your glycogen level back up is a sugary snack or a sports drink (I mean a propper sports drink, eg lucozade not monster etc)1 point -
I'll settle the argument, water am bestest, everything else is OK too.......... IN MODERATION😏 Your average airsofters isn't a trained nutritional isn't, or dedicated professional sportsman, so doesn't have awareness or desire to monitor all their intake needs, getting through the day in one piece is a bonus, or having the common sense enough to arrive on site with enough fluids, or checking their onsite availability should be a given........ But apparently not 😜1 point

Emailed them to see if I can get my order cancelled, so fingers crossed. If not, as I said I'll put it aside for my mp5k build as I do not want to be taking a £115ish motor apart and soldering bits and pieces. Plus I'll need a good secondary if I run the SR-25 at DMR powers. and as I was writing this post I got confirmation that it has been cancelled and refunded. I'll think about going with one if I do want to throw money at my mp5k, but honestly I'd rather not as it's not a "main" gun. Hop rubber and nub is enough for me to throw at that, the stock Cyma gearbox internals are perfectly fine for what I use it for. Pretty sure the ASG Infinity u-18000 (which I believe is 28tpa, which I believe is nice and torque-y) along with a full set of helical gears will do what I need it to better than a regular gear set and a brushless motor, especially if I run it on an 11.1v battery, as it's that gearbox whine I want to get rid of which seems to be the territory of the helical gears; the motor just reduces the time the sound is being made. Economic damage avoided. Phew.1 point

The G&G CM16 / Raider guns used to be one of the default choices. There are now better guns in terms of feature-list-to-price, but for all that the G&Gs have a basic dial hop and no bells and whistles, they do seem to work very well, with no surprises. And performance on the field is much more important than features on the box. I'm also a fan of cheap red dot and reflex sights for airsoft. Unless you're running them on a blowback pistol slide, they'll hold enough zero for our purposes. Nothing wrong with Ali Express, they'll pay the VAT and duty (or at least mark it as paid) so the stuff should come through customs more easily. Delivery times aren't guaranteed, but with one exception, I've never had to wait more than a couple of weeks, top.1 point -

welcome to the wonderful world of joule creep pistols with short barrels you tend not to get too much in the way of gains especially when you have to get a lot of hop going to spin up the heavies at sub 1j. whilst the results are hilarious, i'd caution that running really heavy ammo in pistols is detrimental to their health particularly in bulged (and i've heard, if fortunately not experienced burst) nozzles, and whilst the range and accuracy are great, you might want to think about how good your pistol marksmanship is and wether or not you really need that performance out of a pistol or if you'd rather sacrifice some performance for the sake of longevity. eg i used to run .48's in the makarov and even at a measly 0.7j it practically outranged the majority of rifles on the fields i was playing, but given i'm incapable of hitting the broad side of a barn from inside said barn (with a pistol at least) i went back to .32's so i wasn't changing loading nozzles as often as i was changing magazines.....1 point -

Cannonfodder reacted to AirSniper for a topic
If the chronograph was accurate and calibrated, the misuse of it as in ignoring the instructions on leaving a gap, the outgassing or air being pushed out by the AEG can give a misreading which can be higher than it actually is because the air is moving faster past the BB and these sensors can be prematurely tripped. There are two sensors a set distance, so if air rushing past is enough to trip the second sensor before the BB passes, what do you think will happen? This is why there has to be a 100mm gap from barrel tip to the opening of the chrono. Unless you use an FX chronograph that fits on the barrel of a gun or rifle or RIF, you will be getting misreadings, at least an FX chronograph is radar based and not light sensor based.1 point -

let's assume all of anzio's chronographs are well maintained, regularly calibrated machines that will always report the fps figures with 100% accuracy even if the muzzle is not perfectly aligned, and that for each reading the chrono was set to the correct ammo weight. what do you think would happen in the op's case?1 point -

Bloody hell - That's a decent price if it's properly rated. The Valken-badged version of this cost me £30 and replacement lenses seemed a bitch to get hold of. I live literally 2mins drive from the Christchurch store (In-Excess is a local company to me - head office is 30mins up the road in Salisbury) so I will have a look to see if they have any in stock.1 point -

As above, standard gear ratios are usually 18:1. 16:1 will make your gun run faster (not loads more but even so). These are very good https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/gears/zci-gear-set-advanced-18-1 these are at the very least better than the ones that are in there right now https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/gears/shs-18-gearset Set of shims https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/zci-shim-set?search=shim (do your research on YouTube and TAKE.
