  1. Like I said previously. There rules there site . Puts downer on it . Only trying to help others who planning on going . Be careful that's all . My mate did nothing wrong . Was in the limits on his bb . Will not be going back and probably not to any other of there sites either . It's done . I learned and so did my mate . Not first time it's happened there and probably not the last . U all can debate on the joule creep marlakey and wether who's fault it is . I just wanted to tell people on what happened . I won't loose sleep over it lol .

  2. Overly complicated solution to this. Site employs a chrono zip tie system with varying colours: 0.2 - Blue 0.25 - Red 0.3 - Green If it has a tag, it's passed. When random spot checked, gun is re-chrono'd with correct weight, hey presto. Player can use limit they are tested to or lighter. For those about to argue the player could be using a heavier BB. Shoot a couple of BB's through with players own mag and then a few of the colour weighted tags. If the results are similar then player is honest about weight, if results of site BB are higher then player is lying about weight. That to be honest would be right up Anzio's street as they like to heavily convolute the already convoluted and it'd give him 10 more mins of safety brief.

  3. Wellll.... I approve of sites doing regular spot checks all through the day, using their own BBs, and heavy ones at that. But. If they're going to do that, they need to be absolutely clear about it so that you can tune for it, and provide them at pre-game chrono as well. Mugging people with a surprise weight is a cad's trick. And it's a peculiar weight at that. If they're really concerned about what over-volumed guns can creep up to by loading heavier BBs, they should be using 0.4g or even heavier. Sounds like another site owner who has formed a muddled but adamant opinion, and now won't be swayed by reason or logic. Sadly, there's no critical thinking test for running a site. [EDIT] Oh, this lot? https://firstandonlyevents.co.uk/first-and-only-airsoft-rules/ I've ranted about that "actual" and "variance" utter gibberish before. What a bizarrely over-complicated way of saying that they have a 1.1J limit for AEGs[*], but 1J for HPA. And they explicitly say "All our Chronographs are measured with 0.2g ASG bbs", so why would you tune for anything else? [*] Also, they don't seem to know that 350fps on 0.2g is 1.13J or 1.14J, not 1.1J, so it's not even clear which figure they'd use. I'm calling Dunning-Kruger on that.

  6. A nice, calm and respectable lady went into the pharmacy, right up to the pharmacist, looked straight into his eyes, and said, "I would like to buy some cyanide." The pharmacist asked, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?" The lady replied, "I need it to poison my husband." The pharmacists eyes got big and he exclaimed, "Lord have mercy! I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband! That's against the law! I'll lose my license! They'll throw both of us in jail! All kinds of bad things will happen. Absolutely not! You CANNOT have any cyanide!" The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife. The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, "Well now. That's different. You didn't tell me you had a prescription.

  7. Utter bollocks! The guy's gun was within limits on the weight he was using; chronoing him on a heavier weight than he was using and them booting him off site is out of order.

  9. For the benefit of anyone else that's wondering what's going on, joule creep is a phenomenon where guns are more efficient with heavier ammo; they'll do 350FPS with 0.20g (1.14J), but 335FPS with 0.25g (1.30J), 330FPS with 0.30g (1.52J) etc. Essentially the energy level gets higher and higher with heavier ammo. Some sadistic oxygen thieves bellends knobgoblins people abuse this by passing chrono with 0.20g and then actually shooting 0.30-0.45g BBs with a correspondingly huge increase in power. Deliberately or not this phenomenon is especially prevalent in over-volumed guns like short-barrel BASRs, GBBRs and specifically tuned remote-line gas guns (HPA, Tippmanns etc.). Pretty much exactly these. In more than a decade of play I've literally never seen a marshal doing spot chronographing (even though it's been mentioned repeatedly) so it's good to see that at least someone does it. However, it's absolute bullshit than they don't tell you they'll be chronographing with random BB weights, especially after you've previously passed chrono. If they want people to pass chronograph at 0.20g, 0.25g, 0.28g, 0.30g, 0.36g, 0.40g and 0.45g and so on, that needs to be both specified and tested for at the original chrono. Chrono will probably take five times as long if you're going to be testing each gun with seven BB weights rather than one but if that's what they want that's what they'll have to do. This is very much true; HPA guns with significant joule creep are running inefficiently and should be tuned more carefully. The whole point of electronic FCU control of solenoids is fine-tuning - with some experimentation it should be possible to tune the gun to shoot less than 1.1J (or whatever the limit is) with every BB in the 0.20-0.30g range. Very much the sensible approach.

  10. After a nightmare two weeks at work covering for my boss (off with covid) and so doing the work of three people rather than the usual two, I needed nothing more this sunday than a good rest...so of course I booked a day airsofting so I could run around in 25c heat in full kit getting shot in the arse and action man crawling through heaps of stinging nettles. Another great day at Reforger - Team Skins whitewashed the opposition and won every game, despite being substantially outnumbered for the last two games. I managed to stack it badly sprinting back to spawn with an objective item at one point, fucked my knee up and fell hard on my gun, filling the birdcage with mud. The site owner helpfully cleared it out for me. Thought the gun might be well and truly busted but it didn't even lose zero (Lancer gen3 is really holding its own so far). Day was very slightly marred at the end by someone having a bit of a strop about hit taking in the last game. They had to be told to calm tf down by the two marshals who were within 6 feet of both the shooter and shooter 🙄 Other than that little incident, hit taking and general sportsmanship was great. This day also finally made me eligible for a UKARA number, so soon there will be no limit to the amount of shiny shit I can buy...

    THE TM MWS thread

For the love of Baby Jesus, we just need to pin this at the top of each page. Keep the gun as stock as possible with exception to the nozzle return spring. Heavy BBs? Change the nub. Need more FPS? Longer barrel or NPAS. Mags? I've got four that I bought with mine and they just keep running and running and running. I've got over 10K rounds at this point through mine, I've replaced the stock bucking but only because I shot it out. Which is DAMN hard to do I might add. This gun sees the most use of my collection because it just works, and its accuracy gives my SRS and Tanaka M40 a run for its money. It will never beat the SRS, but it is actually far more consistent than the M40 on green gas (Normally run on HPA). Don't believe me? Watch my videos:

    Night Games?

night games can be fun, although a few things to consider: 1. think about warmth, it'll get colder than you'd think. 2. any light system you're going to use should ideally have a momentary activation, you'll be wanting to have the torch on for the bare minimum of time needed to aim and fire. 2.1 having extra lights is handy, wedging a torch in a tree branch to cover an area whilst you hide elsewhere is an effective tactic, although expect said torch to be shot a lot.... 3. you'll want to be very, very sure of your gun's hop and sight settings, you'll be relying on your gun hitting where your sight says it is and if isn't then you're gonna have a bad time. 4. be prepared for close encounters, even if it's outdoors, you can be practically tripping over someone before you notice them. 5. think about some kind of head protection against tree branches and the night, they'll sneak up on ye. 6. tracers are cool, but they work both ways. a good defensive game at night, smoke grenades being lobbed everywhere, beams of torches lasers and rounds flying through the air as shadowy figures shift around while you wait for someone to spark up some pyro on the other side revealing their position that's the stuff so atmospheric....

  24. I can't add much to this convo.... Kls77, you were clearly tucked up. I assume neither you nor your mate had a crystal ball or tarot deck to ascertain that the marshalls expected you to pass with .30g bbs? I am absolutely for spot checking and zero tolerance toward people cheating. However, unless the site CLEARLY states their policies and procedures in this regard beforehand (on website, physical site notices and briefing), then enforcing your arbitrary rules that you have written on the back of your hand just makes you look like a bully and a wanker. Just a thought, if your friend had passed with the marshals 0.3g ammo, would the marshal have put increasingly heavier ammo in until your friends gun failed chrono? What's the heaviest ammo you can get?

  26. More the point being that an hpa system correctly set up for a given weight should not joule creep excessively with heavier bbs and unless set very close to the chrono limits (which is never a good idea given fluctuations in regulators and differing chronos) should not fail at any weight bb.
    2 points
  27. So absolutely no idea whether he's made it better, or worse. R-hopped how? By who? Does it actually even shoot at all? And it doesn't need any of those. He'd be better "de-beasting it", putting in back to stock and flogging the "upgrades" separately. Foot in shot, absolute degeneracy.

  30. Oh, I'd prefer that too, as a player. However, as a site, if players can just shrug and say "OK, I'll put it back in the car and get my CYMA" then why would they care what their gas guns are creeping up to? What I'd really want is some clarity and consistency, regarding what I'd be tested with, and what the consequences would be. Hmm, I wonder what Anzio would do if a player voluntarily approached marshals to ask to be re-chronoed in-game, and came out over. 🤔

  32. If platforms such as HPA & some gbbr are subject to variable joule creep, I'd much rather save the day with an aeg backup than potentially drive long distances home while spitting feathers & vowing to destroy the site verbally online etc Bugger knows, & clearly this site understands it less than me lol, but if an incident doesn't scream wholesale cheating, then surely a stern warning, coupled with an alternative option to continue playing is better than their current set up.
    2 points
  33. Unless someone is caught with a ridiculous variance in power differing from the "start of the day chrono", & assuming the tag or tie fitted by the marshals is still intact, players should be given the option to switch to an aeg platform, & if they haven't brought their own, maybe a rental offered for a small additional fee. Would surely be an option that benefits everyone ? Posted before I saw your post, spot on👍

  34. absolutely this, if it was made crystal clear that the field-standard was on .3's and ammo was provided at morning chrono then i absolutely agree, and would have recommended the op's friend set their gun accordingly using the heavier of either the test weight or their intended play weight. wether or not that's a fair ruleset in general is a matter for debate but if that's the rules of the site then that's what you have to work to. like you, i applaud having a zero tolerance policy when it comes to chrono, however if you're going to enforce a rule then you'd better have it well founded in knowledge of how different systems operate and well communicated to the players.
    2 points
  35. Yes point is there on alot of things . But I am not getting at the joule creep malarky I am getting at that was in there limits for .25 which he was using both times he was tested. So why be kicked off for joule creep on the heavy bb which he want using ?? If ur mws had gone over by that 1fps then u would have be kicked .. and u would have felt the same .
    2 points
  36. I don't know what this statement means. Is that referring to the BBs that are made available at the chrono? I ask... ... because of that. If they're going to have a zero-tolerance policy towards guns (something I actually agree with, especially for HPA), they should apply a similar high standard to their own communication and pre-game testing. That's if the goal is to actually keep everything below their limits, rather than to have the thrill of shouting "Hah, gotchya!" and punting punters.

Oh 100%, Ofcom have yet to catch up with a neighbour who hasn’t bought a tv licence for years, so I can’t see them staking out many safezones any time soon. However I appreciate that people should be made aware that by transmitting with one without a licence then they are committing an offence.

  38. They just asked what BB was running and chrono with that at first chrono test . They then tagged and locked off his regulator saying all ok ? Didn't see any other BBS there to chrono with tbh . I took a empty mag and full mag with desired BBS using that day and they just used that one .
    2 points
  39. And again I find myself in full agreement with that policy. However, they need to be crystal clear what the testing methodology is. Yup, that's what their written policy says. It clearly doesn't match the reality, and it's daft for them to even mention 0.2g in CURRENT_YEAR, but sadly they've still got that 350 / 400 / 500fps mindset. It's also unnecessarily confusing, as what they actually mean is that there's a hard 1J limit on HPA guns. Knowing that, and that they might drop in any weight of BB, I'd be setting up to be comfortably under 1J on a 0.4g (with the hop set for 0.25g). If that makes HPA uncompetitive, then perhaps that's actually the tacit intent of the site policy. Now, that's interesting and sensible, but contradicts their published policy. OP, was that your experience? Were heavier site BBs available at chrono? Was there any hint given that they might test with heavier BBs? I find myself in the peculiar position of actually agreeing with what they do, but sighing and tutting at what they say. It does rather feel like the site owner enjoys the thrill of catching people out.
    2 points
  40. this is the key thing. if it's not made clear that the standard of chrono that will kick you off site is different to the posted limit, then it's an unfair test. i have no doubt had the op's freind known that they would need to pass on 0.3's rather than the 0.25's they were using then it would have been trivial to set their system up accordingly. the argument could (and imo should) be made that whilst players might have no need of understanding how different pews work, the marshalling staff absolutely should know. it's not like the information is massively complicated either, you just need to be sure you're chrono'ing on the players weight when looking at gbb's, hpa's and basr's as using heavier they can creep up and if using lower they'll creep down. that's it written in one line....
    2 points
  41. I'd have been shocked if it was any other site. Anzio are notorious for this. A friend of mine went to chrono with his MTW, turned all the way down, using 25's, was running about 300-305, marshall dried his teeth when chrono'ing and said he can play but if he gets pulled in game for random chrono then it's "his risk" - So it was under but still a chance of it not? Great site for buildings, cover, layout. Crap site for marshalls.

  42. Power hungry twat sums it up really from what I have read. This is the bit that annoys me It is the responsibility of the players to chronograph their gun before the airsoft day starts, Chrono Stations are provided on all sites. So chrono isn't compulsory but they fuck you immediately if you fail a random check.
    2 points
  43. If your friend was using 0.25g and was under the limit with them, that should have been enough to meet the site's requirement. Testing on heavier BBs and failing him when they took the power over the limit is ridiculous and unfair. Please do state which site it was so that we can avoid it.

  44. Was told by him and stated at brief to leave room for joule creep . But mates hpa was set to no more than 328 ( there rules )on .2 . So mate set up for .25 and was all passed at chrono in morning . Asked at chrono what he was running and he said .25 . Fired and passed within there limits . . Tried to be reasonable and explain that we hadn't done anything wrong ( they even tagged and locked the regulator ) . But owner said can't change rules as have to do it for evyone ?
