I am knackered fellas! I met up with loads of new people. Got merry and drunk. Vienna was cool and quiet with nice Jazz Cafes, I saw an American Punk rock band visiting Bratislava called Good Riddance in a very intimate underground show ( I used to love them as a kid) I also nearly got arrested for playing guitar and teaching the Slovaks some Greenday songs at 3AM. Budapest was another kettle of fish, dirty, Ruin bars and alcohol everywhere, I managed to pick up a FULL set of Hungarian camo in my exact size for exactly 40 euros including the hat which is impossible to get outside of Eastern Europe. Lots of history, the food was a bit bland everywhere and a let down so much so I actually lost 5lbs over the past 9 days, but alcohol was good. I got invites to go to Serbia soon from a couple I partied away with. It's opened my eyes and I think it means I will be selling more of my Airsoft collection and bring it back down to under single figures. I need to experience this more and do the Digital Nomad thing! I got to visit the birthplace of my Grandmother and resting place of my Great Grand Parents in Baden for the first time, which was really rewarding. I am so exhausted though. The flight delays took the piss and I had to take a three hour Bus journey home from Central last night. Either way. It was great. Cheers for checking in on me! This is where I went to, no one else had a stock of Hungarian Surplus. Good guys, and they couldnt believe I ran a Hungarian kit at home.2 points

I used to buy near all my kit from Ebaybanned !(never bought a RIF from them) back then when the pound was king and the US dollar was nothing you could get near a whole new rig for the price of just a couple of pouches from a Uk seller , and nine times out of ten it got here quicker ! 🤬2 points

Would recommend the series as a whole, there's some pretty decent actual science fiction in there, and a few of them are genuine short features. Being an anthology series means that if you hate one episode, you'll probably love the next one, and you don't have to wait long for it. The quality of animation in some episodes comes very very close to clambering out of the Uncanny Valley. You can almost forgot that you're watching high tech cartoons.2 points -

Bought my first 'proper' RIF from a site called Ebaybanned around 2007/2008, seemed a bit shady but damn I wanted that Kart M14 EBR so bad. Also bought a JG G36 around the same time. So, with 2 RIF's, me and various Buddies would run around various patches of woodland in South Wales playing 1v1. 2009 I played my first actual game of airsoft at Dragon Valley, proceeded to play every game there for about a year before starting to try other sites. God damn I miss the DV forums.2 points -

A woman goes to her doctor's office to discuss a strange development. She has discovered a green spot on the inside of each thigh. They won't wash off, they won't scrape off, and they seem to be getting worse. The doctor assures her he'll get to the bottom of the problem and tells her not to worry until he gets the tests back. A few days later the woman's phone rings. Much to her relief, it's the doctor. She immediately begs to know what's causing the spots. The doctor says, "You're perfectly healthy there's no problem, but I'm wondering, was your boyfriend that biker guy in the waiting room?" The woman stammers, "Why yes, but how did you know?" "Tell him his earrings aren't real gold."2 points -

I don’t trust people. Visually they look the same, and on closer inspection it would not be easy to know the difference between an emptied cartridge that still has a primer and a genuine deactivated inert cartridge. Even with the primer still in place there’s not likely to be a negligent discharge without some effort, but I’d be wary of someone just telling me they are fully inert. There are valid uses for an inert dummy, but that can include clear markings and unusual colours or a film prop etc where they would possibly at the moment want manufactured dummy inerts rather than modifications. Unless there’s a real need for close up realism then I’d prefer someone’s dressing up to be based on used cartridges or to have a hole where the primers cap would be https://www.cobra-ts.eu/en/blog-article/inert-deactivated-or-neutralized-ammunition-what-is-it-and-what-is-the-law-saying-about-it1 point

Full disclosure, I made that mistake too, having bought a CYMA with a nimh battery, then gone deeper down that hole before climbing out. It's not a disaster, some folk still swear by them for their non-exploding properties. And yes, lithium charges differently from nimh, so it's likely you'll need a different charger unless you current one has a lithium mode. Any remotely decent charger will also balance-charge lithium batteries to keep the cells at the same voltage. We're currently liking the SkyRC S65 charger.1 point

I'm 21 years in on and off. Started when I was at uni and remember spending every other wednesday afternoon traipsing to RM and Parcelforce depots to collect parcels with import charges. Spent all my free time ogling custom guns on Redwolf and Airsoft Club. Shopping on WGC and waiting for emails to actually make payment UPS were the only courier to actually security check airsoft stuff, a friend got a phone call saying he needed velocity declaration for a protec helmet. He said 'depends how hard you throw it'. Playing with/against the Airsoft Dynamics staff at Ambush. Getting up at stupid o'clock to drive for hours because there wasn't any decent sites near London.1 point

Loved season 1 - I've re-watched a few of the episodes a couple of times now. I loved Zima Blue (weirdly), found Beyond the Aquila Drift strangely unsettling (in a good way), thought Suits was cool, and really enjoyed Lucky 13 as I've read the entire series of books (Marko Kloos Frontlines) it was based off. Thought season 2 was disappointing in comparison. I don't think I've re-watched any episodes but Snow in the Desert was OK as it was written by Neal Asher, and I've read most of his Polity books. Thought season 3 was better than season 2, but wasn't blown away by it. Bad Travelling (again Neal Asher) was good, very reminiscent of the Spatterjay series of books, and Night of the Mini Dead raised a few chuckles along with Mason's Rats.1 point -

Where can i find this nuprol part?
Rogerborg reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
It's the same light unit that you'll find all over AliExpress, but you've paid for Nuprol's laser-etched logo and a some semblance warranty that you curiously didn't utilise. With that in mind, given that the entire weapon light is only ~£25 shipped from Aliexpress, most would opt to bin off the damaged unit and buy another. You can buy an 'upgraded switch' with a removable rail mounted pressure pad for about the same money as a light unit itself. Of course you could try to contact Nuprol themselves and ask about spares. Good luck with that.1 point -
The other possibility is just that the magazine springs aren't strong enough to shove the BBs up quickly enough, and/or are very slightly misaligned with respect to the hop and magwell. Have you tried other mags? Ex-Workmate Eddy's CM16, while a very decent toy, is a little fussy about mags.1 point

Given the price of parts individually vs in a whole gun I'd consider saving up enough to eventually buy a whole TM pistol; that's not even factoring in the propensity for various different brand bits to often not get along vs the high reliability probability of a simple factory build.1 point -

Charging Batteries
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Is there a particular reason that you went with NIMH? I mean, they work, but it's old technology. It's also surprisingly tricky for chargers to deal with since they don't know what voltage they're charging to, they have to look for the battery resistance to spike / the current to drop off. I know that lithium cells can get a little explodey, but the performance advantages outweigh that for me.1 point -
Charging Batteries
Hudson reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
Good rule of thumb is try to avoid charging more than 1c. Take the capacity of the battery eg: 1600mah, divide by 1000 gives you 1c or 1.6 amps. If in doubt slower is the safer option to go for, given the usage of airsoft there shouldnt be any need to go fast just charge up before game day and if you run out mid-day then buy more batteries.1 point -
Charging Batteries
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Dan Robinson for a topic
Very much depends on what battery you have, both in terms of chemistry and size. The setting equates to how much you're jamming into the battery at a time. With NIMH its not so critical. With a lipo then it's vital not to over do it. The higher the number the faster the charge speed which can cause a fire if not careful. If you're charging lipo's then send the charger back and get a smart charger that you can select the exact battery type and let it sort things out. It will also help you track battery health by monitoring the amount of juice going in and out..... Lipo's need to be stored at a certain voltage too, which means getting them to that level if you're storing for more than a few days.1 point -

OR, if you still want a PDW style stock but with TONS of battery space, and you like a borderline impossible challenge, you could try and source a King Arms PDW stock like the ones I have on my AEGS in the picture below (the two M4s are Specnas btw). Borderline impossible challenge because I got the last two available in Europe and as of now the only two places you can get them from are tiger111hk and directly from King Arms.1 point

AAP to Ruger project is going well. Lower receiver arrived and that's the first pistol lower I've had to completely strip out (as the Ruger lower comes empty, you have to take all the AAP-01 bits out of the stock lower and put them into the Ruger lower apart from the safety and the mag release button). Still want to get some real wood grips, a metal upper (but they're pricey), a new inner barrel as the stock one is short and some different rear sights, but it's now very much usable as a Ruger. New Namsoft sidearm acquired, and this one is more reliable and shoots better than my 1911. VC sniper now has a period-appropriate assassin pistol1 point

Got to be honest I don't get not wearing full face, to me it's as nuts as not wearing eye pro. Had enough dental pain and cost in my life that I just don't understand why you would put yourself in a position where you could get your teeth shot out. Probably an unpopular opinion but I think full face should be compulsory.0 points
