  8. Spectrum? Amiga? Bah humbug. You need proper old school... TRS-80 Model 1 complete with Star Trek game (gasp at the amazing graphical power of 128x48 pixels, available in both black and white!) and even better, the Video Genie ... which I learned to program on ... fake wooden sides!

  10. If you actually received something that shoots a BB when you pull the trigger 9 times out of 10, I'd call that a win. That sounds like it's "working fine" to me. Sorry to be harsh, but if you want an unconditional right of return and new gun performance, then new guns at new prices are available. On the issues, a selector (not tappet) plate costs £5 delivered, if that's the problem. It might be, I've had a similar safety issue when changing tappet plates, but the solution was to bin off the trigger-block piece so that the trigger can be pulled back freely in safe, but without moving the tappet plate off of safe and allowing a connection to be made. Cost, zero. You won't know until you have a look. If the motor adjustment screw is actually missing, I'd expect the motor to be too low and sound like a bag of angry wasps with spanners, if it was engaging at all. Are you sure that it's missing? It may be a tiny hex grub screw, deeply recessed. Easy enough to check: take the base off the pistol grip (expect the motor shim disc to drop out, stupid little things that they are) and check if there's a screw projecting inside it enough to push on the shim. Dunno about the mosfet, I consider them to be just another thing to go wrong. You could rewire back to standard wiring and flog the mosfet on as "working fine", right?

  13. Those wee basic compact toolkits you get out of B&M, Home Bargains etc that contain handy wee screwdrivers, Allen keys and a basic bit and driver set. Or a multitool. Great for working on airsoft guns. Camping/outdoor water bottles/food containers/Billy tins/sporks etc, handy for sustainance on game days. Shemaghs, useful for multiple purposes; face and neck protection/warmth/impromptu cape, makeshift picnic blanket, small blanket for for a kip, makeshift work mat for stripping a gun, ad hoc towel/wipe, etc. Big camping backpacks, useful for transporting compact RIFs and your gear on a motorcycle. Sweeties of all sorts of kinds for a quick energy boost. Foam camping mats, for saddos like me who like to make fake sci fi armour... Boiler suits or flight suits, as above. Velcro - nuff said. Thermal t-shirts/leggings for cold days. Sure there's more tat I can't think of right now.

  18. Did you buy it here, & from who ?, I ask as a lot can be gauged from people's history/feedback, kinda things that might have set off alarm bells in more experienced players. But ultimately you bought a used, & probably fairly old gun, with a "sold as seen" type disclaimer, depending on what you paid, which should dictate whether it's worth pursuing further, or whether to suck it up & spend a wee bit more on correcting what appear to be low cost issues.

  28. @AgentofEvil, how fit are you mate ?, I ask as a fellow "gentleman of gravitas", & do you play full on, as in getting stuck in when the whistle blows for game on, or are you more in to the safezone posturing & posing, & keep the physical side of the gameplay to a minimum ?. Definitely no offence meant, but most of the chunky monkeys on sites, myself included, are past their peak with regards to fitness, & all too often those same guys who choose to kit up in the gucci looking full plate carriers etc are the same guys you see in the safe one at lunchtime stripped down to their baselayers, bathed in sweat & a funny shade of purple 🥵. If you feel your fitness is up to it, fill yer boots, but if you've got even the slightest doubts, think carefully before you blow your wad on a load of kit thats unnecessary for having fun in Airsoft, even if it does look cool as fuck😎

    Drum Mags

I use flash mags and have owned a G&G manual drum for a while. The drum is convenient and being mechanical it's almost indestructible, but it weighs a metric fuck ton (it's 2kgs fully loaded). That's the main reason why I sold it. Winding it is easy enough once you get used to it. Can recommend both systems because they work really well, just be aware of the newer lonex mags because I've seen quite a few die (the little anti reversal springs seem softer than what they used to be).

  34. I bought it on the HopUp app and I got it for a $100, so I guess it wasnt a lot compared to what it would have been many years ago. And I suppose I should probably suck it up as they aren’t major dealbreakers I would assume and like you said possibly quite low cost as well. The good stuff is at least it works and it’s an ics with a split box and a metal body plus the mosfet if it works for $100. I saw a basically new looking ics 22 going for $230 probably because it looks new due to being a training gun. Also it was rebuilt with all new parts internally. Matrix barrel, spring and piston, rocket gears, bolt motor. (maybe that was the better option since it’s basically all new plus a battery, sling, peq box and its rear wired to deans. With a mosfet but he said he hasn’t gotten it to work. but for over double what I bought this for). The only thing is I need to figure out why the mosfet did what it did and the safety issue.

  36. Tactical Pith Helmet

    Berget 18

I imagine that some enterprising chap or chapess will be in local attendance, and willing to administer the appropriate jab for a hefty fee. That seems to be the way with the tests required for flying. Damn good question from a cost front alone! If one of your party is disinclined to be jabbed or whatever, the situation may become decidedly interesting and expensive. Of course post Brexit we also require medical insurance, and my AA European membership is only for a couple of days. After that it's extra. Its all a lot more expensive and complicated these days for various reasons.

  37. What he said ! I’ve got a TM P90 and I’ve never come across anyone who likes the hi-caps ! I run a mix of MAG and Silverback mids in mine and I’ve never had a problem with the ammo feeding. Had a Cyma Galil for a while , cracking good gun but the mags can be a right ball ache to source for it especially mids , AND seeing as I hate hi-caps with a passion that was a bit of a problem ? 😉

  38. in defense of the seller, many folks in this hobby aren't that into the techy side of things and might genuinely not notice/think a big deal about little external issues let alone the myriad gremlins that could be going on inside.

  40. I've got the short version with wood furniture. I haven't managed to use it much but when I have I had no major problems. The only issue I had was that the gas tank in the pistol grip is quite small so would only last for about 3 and a half shells before running dry. I didn't test the max range but I found the spread to be roughly the width of a plastic garden chair at about 30ft on green gas and firing .25g bbs

Now normally I’m definitely not a “guns done !” sort of player as I’m always want to change this’n’that with my guns , but after getting an ‘old school’ red dot from these very forums(very BIG shout out to @kistofurryfor it) I honestly can say I’m really happy with it now and can’t see anything I want different on it . Now that’s nice .
