taking the "20 rps" figure that's being used in this thread as the benchmark it's not that hard. granted you double that number and it's very much a different story. i can understand the type of character who pissed off the op, and yourself, but not every hpa player is like this, hell the single best game of airsoft i've ever played with immaculate sportsmanship all round there was only 1 player not running an airline...... you can be a cnut with almost anything in this hobby, blaming a specific platform is addressing the wrong issue.4 points -

you're meant to chrono it at 2.5j on .2g, then put .5g bb's in it joule creeping up to 3.5j, then adjust the reg after chrono to get you to 4.8j and only engage inside MED because everyone that runs hpa does those things dontyaknow3 points -

Just going to wade in here... I have an HPA set up. It’s rate of fire is exactly the same as when I was putting regular gas mags in my Hi-Capa. Ive also got two DSG AEGs that offer up high 30’s on auto but they’re locked to burst fire and semi It sounds like the problem at your site isn’t with the kit but with the user. Rule 1.) Don’t be a dick to other players3 points -
Nothing wrong with HPA its all about implementation, i know people who run HPA for consitancy and to easily tune power on the day but have there ROF set to civilised levels and a lot of people i have seen use them in snipers as well. HPA is no worse than a DSG build both can be fine if implemented with a polite ROF and are used responsibly. Dont blame the tech blame the wankers hosing people using it.3 points

The Future of Airsoft Sites?
GenuineGerman and 2 others reacted to Groot for a topic
Location to me is kind of unimportant. I am driving 2hrs to my first game back tomorrow and that sorta of distance is a non issue. For weekend games, I have often travelled from Portsmouth to Yorkshire. What matters to me is the quality and versatility of the site. Then equally important is the kind of games they want to run and how they are managed. Small sites tend to be very limited in what you can do and the flanking options. So you tend to have a game of attrition and often one side will entirely dominate the day. Large sites, if not run well. Just end up a bit boring, as everyone sort of wonders around looking for something to do and / or a reason to hold a building/area. Some of the Town Assault games at CHD are a good example of that. After 30mins of story, it was a case of .. Erm.. is this street at all important... why am i here... The best sites I have ever played in were Old army barracks with woodland around the outside. Crickel, Catterick, Longmoor. To me, the ideal site would be a mixed urban with woodland around the outside. Sadly most sites like this get snapped up super quickly by housing. If you cannot properly flank, then for me the site is a bust. Also fuck speedsoft sites in their Dye mask asses.3 points -
I'd also say, @Skara aside, this forum isn't really the place the moan about folks being clowns with their RIFs. And Skara is far enough away that we don't have deal with his 'you're all pussies' antics on the field . Folks that tend to frequent here all sing from the same hymn sheet in the grand scheme of 'twats are twats, and will be twats with whatever toy they're using'. More than within your right to find the hose and tank harms your personal immersion, but enforcing your preference on others only serves to put further barriers on what is already niche hobby. That latter of those statements doesn't exist to devalue your opinion, it simply runs parallel to it. It's a shame your work around is to limit the sites you attend, but I'm glad you've seemingly found a 'solution' that works for you.2 points

Game day tomorrow 😀,game day tomorrow 👍Whoop whoop sprang!!💥💥 First game for 3 years or feels like it. Anywho I've got a plan to get my monies worth. I shall make sure I get there last which means I shall be blocking exit. Then after last game I shall hide out in woods which means nobody can exit car park, still with me?, which means they will have to come looking for me,unarmed, but as per rules, eye pro on.so I reckon I can get a good hour extra play before they overpower me! 🤪 Lol. I think that's a good deal. Any more info on the shop so we can check its OK? 2x hi-caps (High Capacity) should be enough. Each holds around 350 BBs and he can fill them between games. He shouldn't get used to auto spraying all the time and use single shot as much as possible. Get him one bottle of 3300 0.2g BBs. That should last more than a day. Search for 'Assault vest' Here are a few examples: 1 2 32 points

Help Needed to Reduce FPS

Are you in the UK? With my M904 an M100 gives me around 340fps. At £4 + £1.50 postage from @ak2m4 it hardly seems worth messing around with cutting. https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/springs/zci-aeg-spring-m1002 points -
The Future of Airsoft Sites?
Albiscuit and one other reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
there needs to be both. what's important is having an appropriate number for the size of the site, no use having 200 people on a site that gets crowded with 40, likewise no sense having 20 people running around never bumping into each other on a massive site.2 points -

Someone from my town is proposing a local airsoft site. Do you think the community is better off with more smaller local sites like this or are a few larger sites with higher player counts and bigger budgets? Personally I'd like to see more local sites with local communities.2 points -

Even 200 would make for a crowded game in my estimation (take that for whatever you deem it to be worth). Having no idea what the rental for the location and other costs are I couldn't possibly comment on whether this all makes sense, but not for me. At 100-150 it'd be something I'd strongly consider, but certainly not 400. Never attended the NAE/F for the same sort of reasons. They did one at disused theme park years ago which did look good, don't think it had nearly as many people in attendance (iirc) and I'd reckon the usable safe area would've been a fair bit bigger. Wish I'd done it tbh. Credit for securing a really awesome site to play, probably very hard to do.2 points

Well in my experience I've only come across one or two dickheads...using HPA. Now ARP9 users, i've come across quite a few of those acting like dickheads as well...should we ban ARP9's? just saying... (few of my mates run ARP9's..and they ain't dicks) We get it... You don't like HPA users, but why complain about it on a forum?1 point -

you are right of course. but it's fun to have a rant every now and then, and if we clear up some misconceptions while we're at it then that's worth the while?1 point -
i have to say i agree that there is no need for a gun to have a mini-gun level ROF (unless its actually a mini-gun) regardless of HPA/AEG etc... that said, banning HPA is the wrong way to sort the issue... my tippmann is HPA, and while i can turn up the ROF, i abide by the number 1 rule in airsoft (dont be a dick) and leave the ROF at a realistic level. i have no idea how high i can turn it up, nor do i have any intentionof finding out. as has been said above, the issue isnt the kit, its the dick using a high ROF HPA setup to hose someone. the only way (i believe) to resolve the issue is to have chrono stations also check the ROF on HPA and DSG guns and having a ban on binary triggers that allow people to bypass single shot limits, especially at CQB sites where they are often implemented for safety or game balance reasons1 point

as many have said this already, I would go easy on buying lots if things before playing - your Lad might prefer a AK or a MP5 after seeing what’s on offer or sees after a few games. Airsoft is/can be a money pit if you let it1 point -

I’m not an HPA fan after being on the end of one a couple of years back. I like RIF’s to have a realistic ROF, but that is just my opinion. I do remember getting that guy back by emptying a bag of crappy BB’s over his head (blunderbus style with a tube) - was funny at the time, but made my point - no skill needed...1 point

genuine question - i quite want to hpa an lmg for the sake of longevity. i don't want to upset anyone (as a rule of thumb anyway, i do reserve the right!) and its only worth having a ROF as fast as the boxmag can feed after all. would you be ok with that? i do agree 100% that the single shot rule is counter productive though thanks1 point -

Its for looks only. Some people are really into dressing up in the proper looking gear but you obviously don't need armour for airsoft and can actually be a pain because they don't feel hits properly. Also it tends to be bulky so movement can be restricted. You do need some kind of webbing to hold magazines and other bits.1 point
