  1. Really?! The British Army painted a huge amount of weapons for Afghanistan, and well before that most special forces units painted their weapons as a matter of course: 2Para SAS/SBS SFSG US Army SFOD-D USMC Force Recon (Travis Haley!) German Army US Navy SEALs

  2. Yes, we get it. you'd rather everyone played airsoft in shorts and tee shirt so then everyone would always feel their hits. The rest of us just aim for legs or head or arms instead when someone's 'not hearing' the BBs hitting their kit.

The latest toy, TM recoil Recce rifle it has been R hopped, has a BTC Spectre MOSFET and some other bits I can't remember: Still need to add optics(probably an Elcan Spectre clone) and maybe flip up sights and possibly a suppressor somewhere down the line.

  7. Don't use a PC for cadets, you'll just get laughed at- plus they're really impractical for fieldcraft. Get an Osprey Battle Belt set, they're pretty good quality and some places will sell them with 2x ammo and utility pouches. A friend of mine bought a set for £60 and it's decent stuff. Covered in MOLLE so there's plenty of room for additional pouches of any brand.

  8. I've had a proper arm chair permanently installed to my fence on account of the amount of time sitting there. I can see why it could be an issue for some really young players, but as an adult (presuming the site has a shop) then I think if you literally don't have even a tenner to your name by the time you've paid for your skirmish day, you possibly shouldn't have paid the £25-35 for the skirmish day in the first place. There's no need to be running your bank account on empty for the sake of a hobby.

  13. capacity wise in crane stock tubes....... you will be a little limited depending on space available as I said some guns/stock tubes are bigger/smaller than others G&G Raider is more like a max 18mm diameter x 125mm in its crane stock Cyma & D-Boys M4 seem to be able to take up to a max of 21mm or 22mm diameter MP5k's are the worst - take a single stick type battery and even 18mm diameter is a tight fit Nothing worse than buying a battery that just don't fit & even when I thought I measured it all correctly - I still got it wrong In theory you should be able to fit in say 1400mah twin stick 7.4v lipo about a 20c http://www.componentshop.co.uk/7-4v-2000mah-20c-continuous-discharge-airsoft-lipo-split-pack.html This should - and I say "should" fit but is a little pricey compared to say a block battery which would be half that price but anything "AIRSOFT" will cost a bit if using the more unique or bespoke type batteries due to space another couple of options: http://hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=44774 only 1200mah but you can fit one in each tube and swap over out in field or wire them in parallel NOT SERIES coz that doubles up the volts to 14.8v So 2 x 1200mah in parallel will give you 2400mah Actually is not quite as good as a single 2400mah battery as the 2 x lipo's or 4 cells involved may discharge differently but a possible option to consider all the same Another option is fit a fixed M4 Stock - either long or stubby stock and use the block type batteries a Imax B3 charger is a basic easy to use lipo charger that can be bought for about £10+ there are some clones about - so try to buy any cheap charger from a reliable UK seller than from Hong Kong There is the B6 charger which is far more advanced and can charge batteries at a faster rate but a tiny bit more bells n whistles to use cheaper types are out there but a B3 is a simple cheap easy to use charger or go for the B6 if you really get into it All lipo chargers are smart chargers - but still need to keep eye on any battery charging Though they should stop charging - it is still wise to monitor any charger (a watched pot never boils - or battery explodes) This is just a rough guide to lipo batteries and like I said size measurements etc... must be checked by YOU before jumping in and buying a few - finding out later they are 1mm too tight to fit in

I'm sure you're right to a degree but I wear a chest rig with a back plate so basically the same area as a PC and I know when I've been hit. It's just down to paying attention to what's going on. Maybe it's more peoples playing style or where they play that dictates whether or not a PC will stop them feeling their hits? I can see how too much gear would stop you feeling it at woodland ranges but somewhere like the Mall? No. That's more likely the adrenaline and confusion of playing a hectic site that people aren't used to in my opinion. As to my comment above - surely you can see how it came across?

  17. Took a new photo of my M4 the other day, figured why not put it up here
    1 point
  18. Surely though if you shim the magwell to be snug you won't get the mag to latch properly? It works OK for M4's because the mag catch is sprung in from the side, an M14 mag latches in by inserting the front edge first. If it's too snug it won't pivot in properly.

    Great Looking Gear

Not to burst any bubbles, but what 'looks coolest' is totally subjective on every level, every single person has different opinions on that. I can't see how a thread themed around that concept would work.

    Great Looking Gear

If I saw someone turn up with them shin pads or that hard shell vest I would take the piss badly. Best looking kit would be a tshirt or lightweight top, combat trousers for the pockets and some sort of lightweight rig/belt. Because then you look like you are there to run around and play airsoft. With that sort of kit you just look like a girl whose scared of getting a little owwie. The only armour kit that looks good and is good for airsoft is some of the masks/helmets. The rest is just unnecessary and should be banned.

Bring an older mate/parent along with you to games- chances are they'll get hooked, get their UKARA defence and you'll be able to 'buy' a gun through them. I say buy in loose terms as it has to be a gift, but you may be able to come to some unofficial arrangement with them. Alternatively you can get yourself a 2tone through them and then spray it black/tan/olive drab when you get a site membership or UKARA defence.

  26. yeah my 6094 has velcro shoulder pads that go round the top straps. You can just open these, put the upperr of the rifle sling along the PC strap and the. close the shoulder pad around both.

  32. Granted all my rifles are the bog standard black (apart from my sa80) but to break them up a bit, I use dark earth rail ladders & put them on all unused rails, i've also put them on my g36c to cover unused rails as for me personsly, I don't like the rails unused but it also covers any light damage caused

  37. If you want something extremely flexible and fairly lightweight, Warrior Assault Systems 901 chest rig. Also very well made.

  38. Either light weight tac vest or belt rig. Plate carriers absorb the hits too much and can lead to people not feeling it more often than most other rigs.

  40. Honestly, I've never in all my years come across someone that straight run out of ammunition; any time I've seen that happen, said person has gone straight to the site shop and bought another bottle. Yes,I know this doesn't work for sites without a shop but I'm pretty sure they're the exception not the rule from what I've seen. I've leant someone my speedloader when they had no tool for bombing up their midcaps and they gave a general shout across the safe zone, so I volunteered my kit. But not once have I seen someone straight run out of BBs or ask me for BBs. I often only bring a very small amount with me due to the small amount I shoot in day, so if someone did ask me then my response would depend entirely on the way in which they asked. Someone who's got a legitimate reason, approached and ask politely without presuming or giving the impression they'll get shitty if I did say no - absolutely, I'll sort them out. However I've had more than a few little s*** bags address me as 'Oi!' at games before and they get the hardest blanking possible, if some little f***** came over demanding BBs with a bucket full of crap over-entitled attitude they're getting the square root of sweet-FA from me personally.

  41. Great piece of kit. i should say though, that i had to use the original cylinder as the threads where not compatible with the new cylinder i bought. also i am having issues with my ninja regulator not recharging correctly etc. i am still playing with the mancraft regulator, as i have not yet got it to fit in my stock, but i am thinking of ditching the co2 idea and just running with the small 13ci hpa bottle instead. mega pleased with it ... just waiting for my new scope now lol

  42. So today down it the woods and a player on my team ran out of ammo. To save him the walk of death back to the safe zone, I just took out my TM speed loader and gave it to him so he was able to bomb-up his low cap mag and stay in the fight. It felt good to help out another player. Airsoft karma.

  43. 'Most important is that my wife does not know just how much I have spent on airsoft to date' - yeah that's why my 901 chest rig and other items were £40 from a place on amazon with a voucher used!.....haha i'll keep your secret safe!

  44. I'm thinking maybe some of us need to start a new team...."Team Fluffy Unicorn" maybe. We could all have a patch of a VERY fluffy unicorn and people would know they could ask (nicely) for a bit of ammo and not get sent away with a flea in their ear.
    1 point
  45. I mean....yes the guns are expensive and in many cases the gear is too but one of the things that sets airsoft aside from paintball is the cost of ammunition. A typical bottle of 3000 rounds costs what, a tenner? So 0.33p per round. So let's say you give away a hi cap's worth, we're only talking about a quid. A mk5, £2? Maybe £2.50 if you've bought it onsite. If these tiny little amounts are that big a deal to you then maybe you've chosen the wrong hobby... Think about it this way - some rental kid who has clearly been having a load of fun (on account of having run out of ammo) asks you if you have any spare. You look in your bag and yes, you have more than you actually need. You could just say no. He'll go away deflated and you'll have either a sense of pride in having managed to keep that extra pounds worth of ammo for another day OR maybe you'll get that niggling little doubt in the back of your mind that actually, ACTUALLY you could have been a better person back there. Alternatively you could actually say "yeah sure, fill your boots" (hopefully he wouldn't really fill his boots cos that's WAY more than a hi caps worth). He goes away happy, you get a warm sense of pride that you've improved someone else's day and maybe, just maybe you've made a new friend. Is your life so full and rich that you don't need any more friends? I seriously doubt it. Life is short. Don't squander it being mean.

    Where to zero sights?

Do what I did. Spend all your money on ponies for the wife and kids. Now I have a large field to check the range on my rifs in.😁 Although this may not be the best idea as now I have no free cash for airsoft toys and seem to spend most Sundays running them around to do horsey stuff 😞 ...... ...... Yep defiantly don't do this!!
