  1. @Khyber I’ve been taking on board some good advice about kit. Nothing wrong with being a rental and no-one looks down on you for it (as long as you’re not a dick), if you ask me it’s a great conversation starter as people generally want to help the newbie and it’s a great excuse for them to show off their kit. I’ve been loving it TBH! The way I looked at it was eyepro, mask etc are relatively low cost, so if I bailed after two games then so be it but at least I’ve had a comfortable couple of games. Getting a RIF early was unnecessary pressure to like it and that’s without all the issues that’d go with buying one without knowing much about the sport - hell I’d have probably got a DMR for CQB before I started playing! 😂 My rifle wish list has changed many times (pistol not so much) and I’ve learnt a lot about what I like and don’t like in terms of aesthetics. I’ve also learnt more about my playing style and the game itself. Accessories I have so far are weapon lights and tracer units. Optics are a whole other minefield!

  2. If you have been going to sites that allow you to wear an ARMband around your leg or ankle then that's fine, its their decision. Speaking from a marshaling perspective on the sites I have worked on my position is this. If I got a complaint about someone be it sniper or not generally someone will come to me and so "so and so on green team is doing this that and the other" if you are wearing that ARMband on your ankle and decide you want to do something knobbish or is perceived as being knobbish by the other team it doesn't leave much for someone to give a decent description or tell me what team you are on. This then forces the occasional scenario where EVERYONE wearing a ghillie that day has to be told off together as, as a marshal we cant get a positive ID. My personal thoughts on it are this. Bollocks to how much you have spent on your suit, its a mute point. You are playing a team based game where by you are marked so the other team can positively identify you and shoot you. If you choose to hide that after a marshal has placed that on your arm because it ruins the aesthetic of the tree you are trying to emulate then you are cheating (if playing on a site that states you have to have it on show). If you are playing on a site that allows you to move it then again, their site, their rules. I will however say that I have been to sites that allow this and the amount of snipers that then bitch and moan all day about being lit up is a hell of a lot more than the one or two people on this thread who "accept" that risk - take one of mustangs recent video as case and point, constantly gets hit by his own team but if he were wearing the band on his arm, more than likely would have been less of a problem but then again they could have just had it out for him. Not sure why but this whole thread takes me back to a day at copehill down when a sniper got very very salty and complained to the DS running the event that he'd spent in excess of £500 building and crafting his suit only to spend most of his weekend either dead waiting for a medic or having to leave it in the harbor area because a large number of people on the other team had either thermal scopes or helmet mounted thermal. Not the same situation but did make me LOL. My post is not directed at anyone so no toy throwing please. Just my thoughts based off of posts already made.

  3. Had a decent day out at Killzone Airsoft. A short 10 minute drive from my house which is always welcome! Ran my MTW as a DMR instead of "AEG" was sending 0.36's a really nice distance. I was player marshal to help the owners out who are good mates of mine. A good group of players turned up and some decent games played. Still very much finding their feet with what game modes work on the site Got some lovely MK23 kills, probably more with my pistol today than DMR. Borrowed a range finder and Joe (one of the owners) kindly let me take pot shots at him with my sniper at 85m. Unfortunately the wind was pretty strong but im fairly confident on a calmer day I've have domed him at 80m 😂 Towards the end of the day there was only 5 of us left so did a couple of free for all style games, probably should have just gone home though as Im now on my first night shift and im incredibly tired.

  6. Have not read the entire 3 pages but the answer is simple and should be universal. ALL PLAYERS IRRELEVANT OF ROLE SHOULD WEAR ARM BAND ON UPPER ARM SO THAT IT IS CLEARLY VISIBLE. If "snipers" hide it on ankle area then they are simply shit at sniping and will be shot at by both teams as a result. Comes down to the sites to have any common sense to apply rules mind.

  8. Do mirrors reflect your image? Ghillie suit or otherwise. Well, from now on, you're going to be invisible to me.

  9. Not necessarily, some ghillies are darker than others, some use different guns, some use full face protection, some don't. There's generally more than one way to tell people apart even when wearing even if they are wearing Alan Titchmarshes perv curtains but yes generally its easier to have a word with all of a group rather than pick out an individual all depends how accurate the complainer is, more often than not its a shit description. Didn't say you did. Numerous times people have tried this when I worked as a marshal, ended up taping their arm rather than giving them a nice velcro arm band. Seen a fair few instances while playing guess what happened... the marshals made them wear it on their arm and hovered over them majority of the day. It was at Phoenix from memory. I didn't see the band on his arm in the video I might have been mistaken but he usually does those self loving 360 spin videos and was fairly certain I didn't see it on his arm, may have been pre-game but I have been at games where he has been and have seen him put it round his ankle or leg.

  10. Hey guys show me your mad boneyard scrap heap challenge guns you made from broken crap! It’s honestly my favourite kind of airsoft build no matter what it is. Here are my two best examples. An Ak74su that I think started as a broken cyma with no gearbox or stock. Then got a stock off eBay one day. A very gucci v3 gearbox off here. A perun mosfet. Short strokes gears. Shs motor some other second hand bits. And my speedy boi gi capa made from like. Three different eBay lots and some upgrades etc with allll that stuff on it it’s cost me maybe £170 in total. Let me see what abominable things you guys made

  12. Eh, Viper. See also, meh, Nuprol. I cheap out on a lot of stuff, and tend to buy twice and cry twice, but would thoroughly recommend the Mechanix M-Pact gloves linked above. I've tried gloves with both less and more armour, and the M-Pacts hit the sweet spot for protection and trigger...ability.

  13. First time with op-tac at the kingdom on Saturday, for a 12hr battle sim event. Initial briefing covered all the health and safe stuff and broad rules for the day such as; medics, surrender, capture, etc. With a closed game brief with objectives and timings held for each team in their own fob just before game on. Games went well, some nice variety in objectives to play throughout the day, as well as time and vip exclusive tasks. Structured brake / cease fire allowing for provided food if ordered and wanted by the players, being the only stoppage of play throughout the day. The site is a good mix of natural environment and built structures spread over large area with plenty of elevation changes. Facilities wise some of the best I've seen on airsoft events; wooden cabins, solid fixture toilet and shower block which was clean and fresh. With some good footwear and play you will have a cracking day there. I'll be going back without a doubt.

  15. Interesting. I'm literally 10mins from the site - but not played it yet for airsoft (played paintball there though). It's on my 'to-do' list, but UCAP Valiant is my favourite at the moment and I rather play in the prison for a few quid extra and an hours drive. I ran a bone-stock Cyma AKS-74U at Ironsight a couple of years ago (subsequently sold it stupidly) - the newer ones with blue internals were brilliant for the money (£120 in old TG prices). Gave up on glasses years ago - paintball googles with a fan for the win - no fog even with me wearing prescription specs underneath.

  16. Another run out at Camouflage Bournemouth for me and the boy today, and yeah, not too shabby overall. The small number of players and the fairly compact site made for some decent gameplay, helped by almost perfect airsoft conditions; dry, neither too hot, or too cold and very little wind. The boy, running around with his absolutely stock Cyma AKS-74U was dropping bodies like it was going out of fashion. Me, with my MWS couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo 😂 Swapped it out for the NGRS416 in the third game and things improved significantly. Last time out I stripped a piston, but after a brief trip north of the border for Sam at KOA to work his magic, it performed really well, enabling an average shot at best like me to score some good long range hits. Hit-taking took a noticeable dip in the afternoon (2 o'clock blues kicking in on the opposing team it seemed) but overall a good day. Today was also my first run out with the "best fog-free eyepro in the game" according to people sponsored to say that by Bloc Tactical. I've mentioned before that I can sweat in a snowstorm, so fogging is a real issue for me. Usually i switch between Sawflys, Bolle Raiders and Bolle x1000 goggles, with a hefty spray of anti-fog, so I took a punt on Bloc. Are they truly fog-free? No, not for me. Are they better than average at staying clear? Yes, I reckon so. Be interesting to see how they hold up on a colder day, when I'm blowing out my hoop.

  17. No mosfets in Specna G36s (OP was asking about the SA-G12 model) - just a microswitch which is not actually rated for the voltages/current that it will experience during Airsoft use.
    1 point
  18. Both should be good but personally I'd go for the Specna with electronic trigger (it'll be a basic mosfet but still good) and quick change spring (check reviews of how easy it actually is) Plus it comes will all the rails in case you need em. The Specna is also a tad heavier so will feel a bit more beefy Whichever you go for, first clean the barrel with the cleaning rod (that should be included) then give it a good test to make sure it all works as it should.

  19. Just to stick my two pence in, I sent Luke my M14 a couple of years ago. I fell into the classic trap of not really using it before deciding I wanted to DMR it, so sent it to a local tech, and, being honest, it was a cluster from the off. Not only did I not want a DMR as it really doesn't suit how I play, but the work done on it was dogshit. Locked to semi eh? So how come when I put a battery in the gun in the safe zone, it'd dry fire on auto?! That made me popular! I asked Luke to basically turn it back to it's original state, and to add a MOSFET. Throughout the process he was really informative (as @TheFull9says, you get lots of updates, voice messages and videos) and came across as a thoroughly decent and honest chap. He had to change a couple of parts, basically because the original tech was a mong, and his advice was always based on getting the best return for your budget. The gun came back and was fantastic, and is the one gun I've since sold that I wish I'd kept hold of.

  20. The invader gear multicam kit faded after 10 washes. I washed the them as instructed on labels. Maybe a qc/batch issue. I dyed mine with a mild brown in the end. Structure wise they're flawless. By the speed novs site adds new product, I expect a tactical wash detergent anytime soon.

  22. Thanks for the suggestions. I already had the Viper Tactical gloves which are very similar to the Mechanix ones. I got shot a fair few times in the hands/fingers resulting in a few "ah ufck me" and other choice words.

  24. Yes I would recommend the mechanix gloves as well although a well placed shot will still be felt, they will take most of the fuckmeness out of it especially in winter games. Regards

  27. Great approach. Very similar to me. I bought PC eyepro and lower mesh mask after my first game to make my next few rental games more enjoyable which they certainly did as I hated the full face fencing style mesh masks rentals got. And like you, it's a great excuse to talk to seasoned players about kit whilst your learning what you like and play style etc.. I bought a light, bifrost tracer, and a few different style optics to try for when I got my rifle. So far I have bought very little which I wasn't keen on. Sold on one optic but everything else I'm happy with my choices. I now have a TM MWS GBBR and a ASG Scorpion Evo. Love them both. When it comes to optics IMO, a £25-£30 red dot is more than sufficient for the accuracy of our pews. Durability is the only real factor at that price. But I have been lucky so far and all my cheap optics are doing great. Your mileage may vary. The only thing I have realised about cheap lights is they are not very good. The tape switches only work intermittently. I am now considering saving for a mid range "real steel" weapon light. But a cheapo will get you going. And with the dark nights rolling in they certainly level up evening games when the light fades away. Top tip... don't hold a position too long if using lights as your position is instantly compromised when used. Keep moving and keep control of the surprise factor. Look forward to hearing how things go for you as you progress.

Hi Gamble, please get a good clip-on microphone or something because the talking part is too low volume plus there is too much echo/reverb in your talking so I cannot hear it very well with my laptop speakers, and I don't have this issue with other Youtubers, so I am sure it is your audio and also your room is rather echoey. Content wise it seems fun to watch, but the audio quality is preventing me from enjoying them. The action parts are ok, just the room talking parts I really can't hear you.

  36. Played at Z-mart again last night and it's fair to say everyone had a ball. There were only 9 players so all the marshals joined in too, so after the first couple of infection games were out of the way and everyone had their bearings, we spent the rest of the night in a players v marshals format for all the games. It was a great atmosphere and while we all arrived in groups we fast just became a group of 14 people (head marshal included) that were just having a laugh and a pew on a Thursday night in an old Debenhams store. Games were fun, varied and fast-paced - which you'd expect from the numbers - turning all the lights off for the grab the objects game was a new one for me and was a real learning curve in torch usage, tracer fire was a sight to behold! Just in case anyone had any doubt with regard to eyepro, mine took a direct hit and I even watched the BB shatter! My Bolle glasses weren't expensive but they did their job perfectly. All in all, a great night, need to book my next visits to get my UKARA sorted out (t-minus 55 days - not that I'm countng 😉) and then I can get something to attach all these accessories I've been buying to.

Post has been deleted now but I think you could say the guy has gone off the rails if he's offering bounties for people to doxx his "haters". Absolutely disgusting behaviour from him, not that I'd expect anything but this type of behaviour from the type of man who brings his "haters" family members and loved ones into an argument over him purposefully causing pain/injuries for content.

  41. Played for the first time yesterday. The day was fun but spoilt partially by some seasoned players (who appear to have came as a group) clearly not calling some/most of their hits. Our team got rolled all day until the last game where we pulled off a win in a hostage game. Glad I bought a helmet/goggles/mask setup because I took a fair few BBs to the head. In other news, does anyone have recommendations for armoured gloves as my hands also took a beating from BBs.

  42. It's probably an old price before the value of the £ dropped like a sack of spuds against the $. 1.38 last year, now 1.15 (ouch). In the catalog there's only $3 different between the C and D 🙂
