  1. Don't bother, I have one & they're shite.

  2. What it says to me is that they arent confident enough in their tech departments work to stand by it like it were a new gun, which discourages any notion of buying even a new gun from them if you might need to avail of the warranty. As someone who has only ever played 2 games with an ootb pew i can say that i'd rather spend a month with an eye cast lazily over the classifieds for a good secondhand example at secondhand prices. Although i suppose to be fair, i'm not one who's put off by a little bit of natural weathering on a gun

  4. Twice I've asked a Marshall to check a potential cheater....once it was confirmed that I was indeed doing an admirable job of stripping the tree he was hiding behind of bark, and that my bbs were only just reaching him. Second one turned out (on reflection) to be a flag poking out from behind a tree. Felt like a plonker both times.

  5. I'd reckon there's a decent chance the Foliage Warrior is TM's slowest selling/least popular GBB pistol and perhaps the one most commonly regarded as their fugliest offering. Probably lounges on stock room shelves for years and years. So, here I am.

    Gun upgrades

If you're new i'd assume you don't have your UKARA meaning you can't buy a RIF (all black gun for example) from a retailer. This means you're buying two-tone. I'd heavily recommend playing as a rental and getting your UKARA before dumping cash into a gun, nevermind upgrades. Also, two-tone guns cost the same as the RIF versions, if not more because the retailer has to spray it. Assuming you've got your UKARA, you've played a bit with rental gear and enjoy playing airsoft and want to keep playing. I'd also assume that you've noticed how lacking most rental guns are. From here i'd suggest buying a gun and using it stock. Assess it against the rental guns you used and think about what needs improving further. From here you can A. give it to a local trusted tech B. A local player who knows what they're doing or C. send it to a tech such as the previously mentioned Negative Airsoft. Personally I can vouch for TheCageAirsoft who did the work on my MP5. As for Negative Airsoft his waiting list is quite long so you may be waiting quite a while and being a new player, you probably only have one gun (the one you've sent off) meaning you don't get to play or play with rental gear again. PLEASE don't use Dave'sCustomAirsoft. The prices there are fooking hilarous for the work they do and parts they use. Ask as many questions as you need to, there's loads of helpful peoples kicking around the forums who will bend over backwards to help you.

  8. I'd assume that they've found from experience that optimistic buyers will pay as much for a "totally fucked but might be a simple fix" wall hanger as for a used but notionally working gun. I actually appreciate the honesty in their descriptions - nobody can say they're not being fairly warned.

  11. Have you tried Red Dot Engineering's polycarbonate protectors? I'm confident they're good at 350 but I don't know if they're ok at higher velocities. Still they are cheap (a tenner or so for a custom size), so worth a test? https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/reddotengineering?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=29Dc19V6RWe&sssrc=3418065&ssuid=T3xj7EiGQjq&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

  12. I personally make protectors out of Lexan (polycarbonate), and use two layers. It’s super cheap—I cut the Lexan with tin snips and finish it off with a sanding belt.

  13. The words "I fricking love it" spring unbidden to my lips 😋 Now I've never had a chance to have a pop with an MWS, so I'm going by the fact that a couple of respectable reviews I've read have put the MWS ahead in the pecking order. I'm inclined to believe them, especially if you want to mag dump (but I doubt in real game play you'll even do more than briefly burst fire the gun, so that's no real difference) If it's more accurate then that's the thing to have... My VFC is no laser gun. I've still pulled off some cool shots at range though. I suspect most GBBR's aren't all that consistent or accurate, but damn they're fun. Could I have got more hits with an MWS? Quite possibly? I'd love to find out, maybe one day I'll buy one. But an MWS will cost a chunk more money to buy used. I got my VFC at a very decent price and I'm delighted with it 🤗 Amusing story from my last gameday. I was walking back to the safe zone at the end. Two guys in front of me were talking about the different gats they'd seen through the day... "Gas blowback is just a flex", at which point I adopted my best He-Man voice and called out "I AM THE FLEXOR" I wasn't embarrassed or annoyed, I was PROUD 😅

  14. £90 + £10 postage from him, but he was nice enough to post the link to patrolbase where it's £95 + £7 postage with a warranty, it's brand new and works. For the sake of maybe £30(?) in accessories, I personally would rather buy one that's brand new. 🤨

  18. Old carpet works well as a backstop. The Airgun club I'm a member of uses it for their target stands. My local (independant) carpet shop has skips full of the old carpets removed from customer houses. Ask nicely and you have enough for a dozen backstops for free.

  20. Strictly speaking Hunter is right …… but for the purpose that they are designed for Military/shooting impact eye protection is designed to be the last chance saver from something as simple as dirt, dust, gases and the gravel/splinters etc flying from impact nearby They are not for direct protection from what is being shot at you Poor shooting glasses have been as simple as sunglasses - just for the dust etc (a reason for which I have traditionally directed people to look more than ‘shooting glasses’ but to check that there is an impact standard) The advice in the video is in a shooting situation - once that safety equipment has protected you once then accept that it has done its job and replace it (the same applies to motorcycle helmets - if it’s smashed and ground into the tarmac then you can see it’s had it’s day, but if it has impact but looks ok then the internal structure may have taken it all and should still have the helmet replaced) For airsoft however the intent is to be shot and you can see all the ‘functioning parts’ - the lens If the lens shows impact, has tiny little cracks etc then it needs to be replaced If the lens is to a compliant impact standard then I would not replace just due to a BB impact The next consideration is lens age. I used to religiously replace lenses annually, which continued until I had a vast collection each used occasionally by myself or on loan I now replace based on condition and/or general age If a lens is removable then extra consideration is to be given on how well fitted it may be - if regularly swapped for colour etc then that may affect how well they fit (or how clumsily the user fits them)

  21. I have two sets of eyepro, but I want to get a third. At the moment I use Revision Sawflys and they're amazing and tend to be my go-to eyepro with Rx inserts as I am short-sighted and haaaaate contact lenses (plus, airsoft would be the only thing I would run contacts for as I'm not that short sighted and don't always need glasses) Second pair I have are a set of Heroshark mako frames with prescription inserts for if it's a foggy day, as the mesh allows more air flow to ensure the inserts don't fog up, though if it's particularly hot and humid there's only so much I can do. People always say BBs can fragment, and I'm sure they can, but it's never happened to me, and if it did I think the prescription lenses would be fine against the fragments that might get through Third set I want is a set of full seal goggles with a fan (to prevent fogging) for with a CQB kit I want to put together. Revision do a set, but the Desert Locusts about £200 and are usually out of stock just about everywhere. A lot of fan goggles I've found tend to be crap though, so I might shell out on the Revisions anyway.

  26. I'm guessing site owners and insurers wouldn't allow it due to the increased fire risk. Yes disposable pyro and BFGs can and have started small fires on sites, but when something sends sparks out over a bigger area that risk increases

  27. I didn't know that, onto my spare pair it is. Thanks 😊

  28. Fun fact...... On receipt of impact you should be changing eyepro. Especially after point blank testing with high FPS kit. They are designed to protect against a single impact and are then considered compromised.

I've got a pair of Valken Tango goggles with the thermal lenses and they're pretty good so far. Fog a little on extremely hot humid days but the fog also dissipates quickly when moving. Selection of lenses and and have taken a few shots without a mark on them. Work well with my mask/helmet setup, pretty happy with them overall Edit: I don't use any sort of inner goggle anti fog solution or anything with them as I'm not sure what one to use, so considering this their performance in terms of not fogging seems great, but I dont have a ton of experience with other setups either

  31. Bolle Cobra provide certified safety lenses with good coverage, have angle adjustable arms and come in different colours and Ultra Clear. Use an anti fog wipe at the start if each day and you will be sorted. Cost is between £12 and £14 from safety wear companies. I got clear, yellow and smoke, big zip case and antifog wipe for about £40.

    Dynatex 6209 vs Quake 8

I used to own a 6209. Used the quake 8. Dynatex any day of the week. They are built better, used by military for training and just keep going. The quakes are a clone of the alphatec hex (which was utter garbage) and had loads of drama around it. Mind you when didn't alpha one have drama around it.

    Dynatex 6209 vs Quake 8

But a hell of a lot more expensive. A 100 box of .209 primers is £10-ish which is £0.10p per bang. Mk5 Thunderflashes are £2.50-£3.50 per (retail price). When you look at EG67s and other pyro, you're talking £5-£7 per. I go through a lot of pyro so it get expensive fast. There was a thread posted here about some guy getting his TRMR stolen. The thread includes a video of Silo Entertainment (airsoft youtuber) who apparently puts Airtags or similar inside/on his airsoft grenades to track them.

    Dynatex 6209 vs Quake 8

Got tired of A. having to go retrieve it during a game and B. worrying about someone else picking it up. I have a timed & impact BFG (SWAT VTG and OhShiBoom) but they don't see much use honestly, the impact sees more use simply because it's an impact and catches people off guard. I mostly use paper pyro like Mk5/7 Thunderflashes, EG67s etc. which lets me just throw pyro then carry on as normal. This just means at the start of a game i'm carrying what someone once called a concerning amount of pyro. I have a dangler/scrote pouch on my chest rig that is literally just filled with pyro.

  45. If you’re looking at Delta or Devgru HK416s, then 14.5 with an SMR rail wouldn’t be totally wrong, but the 10.5 with a suppressor would be more common. There are a bunch of resources you can use to help with your build. Loads of videos on YouTube, GarandThumb, T-Rex Arms and Larry Vickers all have 416 videos, just to name a few. AR15.com is a good forum with sections on Delta and Devgru weapons. Also, the SEAL Team TV show is a good resource. A lot of the production team and actors are ex U.S. military including Delta and Devgru and they take kit authenticity really seriously. So a lot of the kit and weapons used by Bravo Team are as authentic as they can be. Although operators have a lot of freedom to pick their own kit, within reason, both Delta and Devgru have a lot of commonality when it comes to the kit they use. The attached photo is 2 of my builds based off SEAL Team, if it helps.

Ordering from Evike US, already got the standard UPS paperwork through that I always get from Evike, filled them in and sent back. I think I'm going to have the items next week, so that would be just over a week to arrive. Excuse me? 🤣
