Hello & welcome. I'll let @Shamal tell you about @GAMBLE's YouTube channel 😉 Glad you had fun, you'll stop aching eventually! Good plan on renting, it'll stop you making an impulse buy and then regretting it later. If you're itching to buy stuff then I'd recommend getting other kit like eyepro, boots etc - it's certainly what I'm doing right now.

The all in one protection works but keep in mind that the face mask is quite wide so will be very hard or impossible to look down the sights of a rifle. I would recommend a mesh facemask like THIS

Welcome to the club. If it was me I would buy good Eyepro first, nothing spoils a day of fun playing Cowboys and Indians when every 30 seconds you cant see due to fogging and the obvious hazards that come with having your vison impaired. In my experience people that share the same hobby love talking about it. Use the time before you buy to ask people about any kit you like the look of, 9 times out of 10 I bet they will let you have a go to.

  12. Was there anything in that video about getting the gearbox to close or the selector plate not covering sensors? It still seems like excessive work when there's so many drop in mosfets for cheaper. I did enjoy his utter confusion at the mag button, where it stated the button was for magazine functionalities, and yet he had no idea what it was for 🤣

Ahoy and welcome. Yes, you'll discover muscles that you never knew you had, as well as soft and fragile bits. The best initial advice is don't blow the kids' inheritance on an armoury of two-tones. You'll get a bit hit of adrenaline from both playing and purchases, but the classifieds are full of "never/barely skirmished" guns. Best to rent until you have a defence and are sure you'll stick with the hobby, or at least keep a rein on spending. Footwear, eye and face protection are the first priorities, shooty things come later. Tips on playing are just: call your hits regardless of what's going on around you, and never take any of it too seriously, even if others are. It's just dress-up and hide-and-seek with toy guns at the end of the day.

  14. As I said, I will be willing to split or take a good offer, just not offering 300gbp for the whole package something like that. And we’ll I’m just testing the market price really, am in no hurry to sell. I know sig Romeo’s are a good sight, I also love my holosuns, but the Aimpoint is a rare find nowadays and only seeing if someone that genuinely wants the old school vibes as a collection piece and that is 100% skirmish-able. True I agree 1800 is over the top and I am thinking of lowering it or splitting, thanks for the advice chaps

  16. If I were hoping that someone might pay me eighteen hundred pounds for a toy gun and a sight that won't make it any more accurate than the cheapest Chinesium red dot at airsoft ranges with airsoft accuracy, I reckon I'd make a bit of an effort to come across as a reasonable chap who would be a pleasure do to business with. Of course, other opinions are available.

    Buying from JKArmy?

JKArmy are in Hong Kong not Japan. They have a pretty good process for buying RIFs into the UK, even a dedicated field to stick your UKARA they will declare the package's value correctly so you'll most likely have to pay VAT and a handling charge when it gets here also what do you plan on buying? might be able to help further I believe a couple airsoft stores in France have them in stock, along with the BCM mags

    Buying from JKArmy?

I never buy RIFs from Asia because of all the nightmare stories I hear from people about RIFs being seized and destroyed and police visits and stuff. However, I have bought parts from JKArmy and they were reliable and got them posted out pretty fast. Was AAP ruger conversion parts and they arrived quickly and without any issue or difficulties in transit.

  24. Yeah quite a bit of experience with them and other Asian retailers. I did once have a RIF I ordered from JK, seized and destroyed by Border Force. Fortunately I got a full refund through PayPal. Another time (different retailer) Border Force asked the local Police to come and have a word with me about my import (that RIF was also seized). I have UKARA but that doesn't help if they misdeclare it to be "Toy Parts, $10" My advice would be only purchase something if it can't be bought over here. Don't do it because you're saving £20 or so. It really is seemingly random, how smoothly the process goes.

Whatever pistol you buy make sure mags are easy to come by, I bought an ASG CZ P-09 then quickly realised I can't find mags anywhere barring importing and even then there's few choices. Ended up finding a classified ad on here for the same pistol with two mags and some other bits such as holsters for the same price I paid for my gun and only been skirmished once, I bought it for £100 just for the mags but a good deal really because I would of paid £50-£70 for the mags even if in stock in UK so I technically got the pistol and accessories for the change but I was lucky in that regard. Love the pistol fits my hands really well but its just not easy to come by mags. Food for thought!

  27. I'm deferring to more knowledgeable people, however trying to effectively hop double the weight of BB you acknowledge that you'll lose power, and it can be quite a bit. For myself and my DMR build I've also used the blunt instrument that is a stronger spring to increase power, but I know that this is like pushing a car to the red line in that it will put substantially more strain on the gearbox and motor. My goal now is to hop the BB as effectively as possible, and by doing this I don't have to use crazy springs etc. I'm using a Maple Leaf AEG inner barrel and MR / Maximum Range bucking in both my DMR and AEG (one with a Omega nub), effectively giving me an off the shelf r-hop as with a Macaron you have to apply too much pressure on the patch and lose all that power. I'd say move away from the Macaron and go to an MR or similar, but this may mean a new inner barrel otherwise the bucking's patch may not sit well in the cut-out. A recent revelation to me those has been a Maxx Model M4A-PRO hop unit and their 21.25mm nozzle. I know it's not cheap but I just fitted these to my AEG where I was running a ZCI rotary plastic hop unit, where I could never get the amount of hop spot on and was losing too much power. The Maxx unit and nozzle magically gave me an extra 15 FPS on 0.28g BBs, Maxx say there may be an increase but this was brilliant and I've gone down now as well from an M110 spring back to an M100. Testing it in a big open space last night though the change to the hoppping was stunning, where I'm using their solid metal concave nub, and I could apply more than enough hop with only a light pressure. If on my AEG, shooting 0.28g BBs with the ML barrel and ML MR bucking, the Maxx hop unit + nub + nozzle can make that much difference I can't wait to have the money to buy one for my DMR (I shoot 0.40g BBs with an M130 spring, 4/5 cylinder and 410mm inner barrel).

  28. Regarding the hydro test lifecycle: The norm that you will mostly see is that aluminum 3000psis have been marked with a 5 year cycle, and unlimited lifetime if they are tested. (due to the cost of testing vs buying new it’s not necessarily worth doing) But in the UK their legal requirement is a 10 year cycle, and I’ve noticed that retailers are now mentioning this on listings For compact aluminum’s such as 13ci there is an exemption, they do not need to be tested as long as they are visually good When 13cis first came to the UK the printed markings have shown a 5 year due date, but a recent purchase does not If you turn up to an event and I’m the air checker then I would permit use of a 48ci 3000 for 10 years after its stamped manufacture date, and a 13ci of any age (as long as they have UK/EU markings) For fibre wraps the general standard has been a 5 year test cycle and maximum 15 year life, and due to their cost it is worth hydro testing There is a newer ISO type which can have an unlimited lifetime, but still a 5 year test cycle - but most seen in life are showing a 15 year maximum printed by the manufacturer

  29. Yes, the instructions made it clear there'd a hole needing to be cut into the gearbox to ensure the circuit board would lie flat (due to a bluetooth sensor sticking out on the reverse side), to allow the gearbox shell to close - something Luke pointed out a couple of times wasn't happening before he sorted it. So yeah definitely not a 'drop-in' job and the "not recommended" conclusion seems justified.

That does actually make sense, I pistoled up before I had my UKARA number. Got anything in mind yet?

  31. Luke's last video is of him installing an Eshooter Kestrel electronic trigger unit. It didn't go smoothly. Normally I'd take that as a sensible warning to stick with the Peruns if I ever feel so bold, and leave it at that. But... another video popped up on my feed, from someone who was doing a sponsored review (so can be taken with several shovels of salt). However this chap pointed out a bunch of things in the instructions, followed them, avoided the pitfalls Luke had fallen into, and came out with a working gun at the other end of it. Of course any 'dramas' would have gone missing in the edit, I'm sure, but still the fact Luke's more gung-ho "I know this stuff, I'll chuck it in" approach might have meant he'd had more problems than he needed to. (I'd still stick with a Perun over the Kestrel, naturally) As for working on fixing one of my many broken / partly malfunctioning guns - I suspect I wouldn't actually use him as (1) he has a famously long waiting list to get stuff done (2) he'd absolutely rip the piss out of me on camera for my attempted fixes etc and I couldn't cope with the embarrassment I'd entirely trust him to keep working on a gun until it operates properly though.

  33. Which bucking do you use in your DMR? I would have thought a Maple Leaf was good quality. I was thinking this too. So you reckon around 370mm? Oh yeah totally haha, one of my favourite sites has a 1.68J limit. So loading it up with 0.36's and I'm spot-on. Half of this is just for the sake of tinkering/tuning. Not like I'm going to be massively suffering, even at 1.88J sites. I've just changed the 70 for a 60, so can easily swap back. Yes the stock hop unit is rotary. I guess so, it was upgraded fresh out of the box by Luke this year.

  35. Hello, A change in bucking could help. A high quality bucking will provide more hop for less hop pressure. Also barrel length is crucial in DMRs, as you need to get a good cylinder to barrel ratio, as you are using heavy bbs that take longer to leave the barrel than say .25s. You may need to shorten the inner barrel length. I have built several DMRs using 140 springs and a 360 to 370mm barrel length, was what I found worked best with a V2 non-ported cylinder, using 0.43s. I recently built a G&P SR25 DMR which has a longer V2.5 cylinder, and that was able to feed a 407mm barrel, but I would not have gone any further in length. Your rifle is able to shoot at 2.1J on 0.20s because they leave the barrel before the 'cylinder air charge' is spent. The .40s and .36s you are using are passing through the final section of the barrel by momentum alone, while suffering from the friction of the barrel. Hope this helps.

    Newbie Advice....

Hi, Am loving my specna! It's robust as all metal and shoots well. Done a couple more basic upgrades which really has increased accuracy & distance... Maxx Model CNC hop up - totally worth the price. Specna 6.02 barrel. ASG M105 spring which gets me just under the max limit. As most made by or with specna there is no faff or fannying about tweaking/making it fit. It just all works perfectly. Off to try AWA this weekend.

Camman seems alright, at least he's never done anything egregious on camera. I think it's more a symptom of the airsoft-youtubersphere. KM is one of the most watched channels so it makes business sense to be on freindly terms with him. Same reason every youtuber has a video on a new novritsch gun when it comes out. Also if that 4 page rant is the one from zero in forums, that poster is as unhinged as KM.
