As much as I love it, the Wolverine Hydra and the m14 hop unit don't get along, so I've put a strip of a drink can at the back of the hop unit to avoid BBs rolling back and jamming it open. Took the opportunity to get the G&P scope mount which is far lower and now the m21 is complete. I will need to cable tie the rails onto the outer barrel to stop it moving about though as I had to modify it a little to use it with a scope mount; mounting a scope directly onto the rails doesn't work and tilts the sight upwards, hence I need a separate mount to keep it level. Not sure if I can get the stubby mags to feed properly though, so we'll see next game day. Otherwise I'll just run it with normal mags. Also, I now have a decent camera, so have some m21 pics.3 points

L11 L119 A1 short (the top one is mine) and A2 long build in progress. Both have stock hop with Maple leaf rubber and omega nub fitted and Crazy jet barrels. The A1 has an RAtec NPAS but the A2 is a DMR so runs unfettered. The A1 has RA tec internals in the trigger box but not due to any failures just that I had them and decided to fit them. The A1 has had a lot of use with typically 1000 / 1200 rounds through it on a game day and loads in the garden. No failures of stock parts and both run red gas pretty much all year unless its a very hot day.2 points -

2 uppers, one more civilian inspired build that still needs a PEQ, the other more GWOT style that still needs a surefire and a sling. Final versions, especially the GWOT style will look major goofy set up wise but they work for the type role each one has. I’ll repost when finished as they’re “nearly” finished…already planning another upper 🥲 Deck’seption…2 points -

Milsim
Shamal reacted to Jacob Wright for a topic
I’ve done both sides of it, full task force kit and cheap as you like Opfor gear; Opfor was definitely more fun! As others have said, kick off with the normal game days and hire kit first. If you’re totally sure (you’ll be hooked 😉) after that then start looking at the milsims. Around London-ish you’ve got Gunman, Legion and probably others I’ve forgotten 😂 Reforger near Watford have got a milsim in July if that’s not too soon! Mostly you will need to supply your own kit, although Gunman are one company who can provide the necessaries!1 point -
Valken hpa bottle blew up
RohanAlex123 reacted to Tommikka for a topic
@RohanAlex123 It is best to fill a cylinder on its own (as you appear to have done as you have asked if you should have had the gun regulator connected) As per the video linked above…… if the ‘high’ burst disk had blown then that would relate to having had the cylinder over pressurised. as your ‘low’ burst disk has blown then that means too much pressure was coming out of the regulator The cylinders regulator should only be letting air out in the hundreds of psi but unless you had any equipment fitted no air should have been coming out Assuming you didn’t have a remote line etc connected then I would guess that the regulator failed and out the full pressure that you were filling - this matches your description of the ‘low’ 1800psi burst disk failing at up to 2000psi of fill Assuming it was a new cylinder then the regulator was faulty - go straight back to the retailer (don’t just replace the burst disk - there is a reason why it failed) What was your fill source? If it was a proper HPA compressor, filtered and maintained then I would still be blaming a faulty regulator If if was a ‘home’ compressor system, or an unfiltered system then I’d be less sure and would then consider that the system was contaminated, clogged the regulator and caused the regulator to fail. The regulator would need a complete rebuild by a competent person Another possible source of contamination is a dirty fill nipple. If you don’t have one then I’d recommend getting a nipple cover to keep it safe until filling If it wasn’t new then burst disks can fail, but still remember the regulator has failed and needs to be investigated Take a life lesson that high pressure air is to be respected, your burst disk has done its job (consider it as a pressure fuse), and keep skin clear from burst disks when filling just in case …… if can be scary, but your bottle didn’t blow up Many many years ago there were a couple of actual bottle explosions which had a combination of factors contributing to them. A couple of weeks after an actual explosion I was in proximity to the blowing of a ‘high’ burst disk when someone filled a 3000psi on the 4500psi fill station - everyone ran & then slowly walked back to give him grief How were you filling? This runs through how to fill, with the exception that of filling from empty it’s advisable to stop / start a couple of times to avoid too much heating1 point -
Yep I prefer the A1 to the A2 tbh, but I had the front spare after i swapped my aeg A2 to a short , so ....... 🤣1 point

Fatboi aint fat enough - it's a 3mm too shallow for my 2200mAh batteries....D'OH! Also experimenting with 'Fuzzy Skin' finishes in the slicer hence the texture: Dusted off my old Solarforce lights (remember them?) to mount to my gun for CQB. I'm too tight to buy any of the gucci new lights you can get these days just for the odd bit of CQB, the Cree T6 drop-in Surefire clone units I've got may be chunky, but they are super bright. Anyway - I knocked up a tape-switch rail mounted holder: My print quality is proper shit at the moment - been chasing down inconsistent extrusion issues for a few weeks now...😭 Picking up a 2nd hand 3D printer tonight (£35!) so will be able to stand-down my Ender 3 for a week or two whilst I hunt down these gremlins.1 point -

Milsim
Crazy_Crystal reacted to Emergencychimps for a topic
I've always found that the gear snob thing is generally worse when it's in reverse. The whole - "I have kit that's just as good and it only cost me half a packet of crisps...." I have done a lot of milsims and events, I see it more when I am the local skirmish site. As mentioned by others there will be a whole mix of people there, some will have spent a small fortune on kit but just because they have priortised their spending that way doesn't mean they won't welcome you etc. though it can be a little daunting. The main thing at a milsim event other people are interested in is whether you are competent, what kit you have can give clues as to whether you're competent (but your kit is not the be all and end all). Rock up to a January trees game with a summer sleeping bag and no warm kit and you'll be a liability that will be a drain on your team mates and probably the event organiser. Having had to take myself out of events or ration my supplies etc. to look after people who weren't competent is frustrating. (think people taking a small bottle of lucazade for a 4 hour patrol around mountains or don't drink enough water in warm weather so go down with dehydration/sunstroke, both are genuine examples). Some of the best and most competent players I knew had the cheapest kit and actually in ways enhanced how they were because they adapted and worked really well with what they had. They didn't run super bulky gucci plate carriers, because they only had chest rigs etc. It does sound like you're not the most experienced, so I'd echo what the others have said about checking out filmsim, gunman airsoft and other day long event organisers (such as legion airsoft). I'd also encourage you think about what you want and why. Do you want the full 24 hour, sleep in game experience, or the tighter rules on high caps, or the camo based PID vs armbands? Then give some thought as to what you're genuinely ready for an book on/approach the relevant organisers.1 point -

Akuma121 reacted to Crazy_Crystal for a topic
BTW your loadout does not need to be a perfect replica of anything it just needs to work and ideally be comfortable and capable of carrying everything you need in the field for most events. the primary thing that organisers will care about is the camo rules but that's just so you can ID who is on what team. Also I just want to dispel the whole gear snob thing, I've never once witnessed this at any milsim event I've been too over the years. Having said that there are a lot of geardo's out there(Myself included) that will talk until the sun comes up about the latest gear 😂 Finally if you are new to things 100% try out some of the daylight filmsims out there. My go to on that front is gunman airsoft which are based in the southeast and have hire kit at all their events if you ask. this also includes historical stuff such as Vietnam, cold war etc as well as the modern Okto series, just be aware that roleplay is a big thing for the immersion side of things. (Some bloke you just shot screaming in the corner for example, but it does make the events really cinematic too.)1 point -

Crazy_Crystal reacted to Druid799 for a topic
In a nutshell you’ve highlighted exactly why I did post this up , I know we’ve always had the chancers and out and out scammers (is that you ‘mr’ Glenny ?) in the 2nd hand market place but over the past yr or so I have definitely seen an increase in the numbers of buyers making really ridiculously low offers on items I’ve been selling and then getting all pissy when I’ve said no as if there doing me a favor by buying my what ever ! , I’ve always been of the “if XYZ is in good Knick you start at 30% off new price , I also always do an ’all in price’(hate it when you see a number THEN you have to add paypal fees and P&P on top !🤬)and then work from their , you have a price you’d like and the price you’ll go down too not difficult is it ? AND an increase in the numbers of sellers having over inflated ideas of the value of what ever it is their selling and getting quite worked up when I’ve offered less than they asked even when I’ve given a valid reason for the price I’m willing to go up too . So yea dealing with this chap has really renewed my hopes for the community , but saying that I’m sure the next sale I’m involved with the seller/buyer will try and roger me senseless ! 😳 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍1 point -

It is sad that there are always a few people who ruin it for the many who love airsoft. Have you reported this to the site marshals? At the end of the day if the site are not on top of these things, incidences like this will unfortunately continue, until something serious happens or the site closes due to lack of return business. I, like many long servicing airsofters on this forum are heart broken, disappointed and angry when we see these and hear about this incidents like this. I guess others on here will comment better than myself.1 point
