Sound amplifier for a wannabe Firehawk owner
Tactical Pith Helmet and 2 others reacted to Fatboy40 for a topic
A third almost identical reply, it's air volume. I look after my son's Firehawk, now all GATE Titan'd and MAXX triggered up using 11.1v Li-Io's and which will get its first good hammering at a game this coming weekend, and it's the full cylinder (really, it has one) that's the magic. I run a 4/5 in my DMR but the loopy Firehawk has a bloody full one 😆 It's gone from the stock 120mm inner barrel to an ICS 160mm / 6.04, also had the amplifier swapped over to a short and fat dummy suppressor, and it's still deafening (the amplifier on it really does bugger all sound wise). Now though my boy can spam the very short pull trigger and anyone next to him will have their ears bleed. Next stop a Warhead motor for full rude boy effect.3 points -

I've had a TAC-41 since October and so far the only major optional upgrade I've done to it is the spring. I went with a Rapax 2J Blue because I'm a crap techie myself and saw someone else had one and claimed it worked well. Can confirm it does work well. Requires a bit more elbow grease to get installed and operate but I'm under my site's 500FPS without having to wear in the spring so I was happy with that. However I also had to upgrade the feeding ramp. Apparently new TAC-41s now ship with the translucent red Gen 2 feed ramp installed, however mine didn't. My old solid red Gen 1 feed ramp had a habit of interfering with mags and prevented me from properly setting them without violently spanking it into place and crying as I was forced to abuse my brand new £370 toy. But most importantly I upgraded the charging handle knob with a custom one printed one thats embedded with a .338 case which I bought from @the_hoopmeister. It gives me about an extra 700FPS, thermal vision, and makes me look really really cool. I have like 5 girlfriends now because of it. So yeah, vital upgrade for your TAC-41 if you decide to get one. Highly recommended.3 points -

You can see from the mag well if it's solid red or clear red. At this point they should all be the gen 2 ones. The trick I found to get the new spring in. Use something long to push the piston under spring tension all the way back. Use the bolt locking pin to lock the piston back so you can take the long thing out and screw on the cylinder head. Then take the pin out2 points -

Had an amazing time yesterday at District 23. The new noveske rail was great being able to get my foregrip further towards the front and the temporary solution to the barrel adapter worked a treat. Played for the first time with contact lenses in too and it was amazing, every thing was crystal clear. Also got to try out my modded goggles with some cheap £5 aliexpress turbine fans added to them powered off a small power bank on my hat. Didn't fog once all day for the first time even though i was sweating my ass off. All these little tweaks made yesterday one of my most enjoyable game days yet. There was around 40 people at the start. Which for the size of the site was awesome. Max capacity. The gameplay was solid all day with lots of rentals all giving it their best. Not one complaint of no hit taking at all. Some excellent firefights and competitive gameplay. Came back buzzing with a big grin. Only down side is my MWS started jamming on the last game, the bolt had just ran dry. Hadn't greased after my last game so my fault really. Will make sure to grease it after every game now. Lastly one poor guy decide to do a birthday run topless! He took the ensuing hail storm like a champ!2 points -

Victory for Vukodlak forces at Red Alert Battlesim today. My first battlesim and I bloody LOVED it. Charlie squad took objectives, held back attacks from the ETF forces, captured Intel, and helped sway civilian opinion enough that they joined us for the final battle, leading to an overwhelming victory. Highlight of the day had to be running into battle through multiple smoke grenades while someone on our team was blasting out "King of the swingers" from the Jungle Book on a back pack speaker, and all the Vukodlak forces singing along. Bloody fantastic day.2 points -

Real Sword T97 and T97b Pair. Appraisal only!
Enid_Puceflange reacted to Asomodai for a topic
Hello all. Might be further slimming down my collection but now moving on to the more uncommon stuff. I am NOT looking for offers via PM. I am NOT looking to sell right now. I am purely looking for Appraisals. I have A Real Sword T97 and Real Sword T97B both in good condition with minor wear marks and scuffs. Both include the original boxes (Somewhat dog eared), paperwork, Mag and Accessories (Bar the tube style mid cap loader on the T97). Both have only been fielded a couple of times each. Both have been upgraded on all the non proprietary parts. Both have the optional original scope rail mount. I have additional brand new Real Sword parts for some of the more proprietary gear box stuff, a spare gearbox shell and motorcage, Pistons, Anti reversal Latches etc. Both are running around 1 Joule. The Quick change spring can make light work of changing the power output. Real Sword T97 Castellan Neodymium High Torque Motor Prometheus Purple Bucking Nitrile Piston Head O-Ring XCortech Mosfet Plus ZCI 450mm Inner barrel Real Sword T97B RA/SHS Neodymium 16TPA Green High torque motor Xcortech Mosfet Plus Replaced Piston Head O-Ring Macaron 50 degree rubber and nub ZCI Barrel (Cant recall the length) We all know how difficult these are to get hold of, no brand new ones to my knowledge out there. These are some of the highest quality externals that can be find on a bullpup rifle. What sort of price realistically should I be asking for?1 point -

Then you absolutely should not duct tape a piece of beer[*] can over the cylinder cut-out because it will 100% cause your gun to explode and kill you. I've died twice from doing it. [*] You must only use Stella cans in a TM. It's still a fatal error, but at least you won't die like a poor.1 point -

Also available are the PKM pouch for smersh, and more modern molle magazine carrier. It's heavy so postage not included (but can do), collection from north Lincolnshire. You must have a valid defense to buy this RIF.£420

Sound amplifier for a wannabe Firehawk owner
RostokMcSpoons reacted to Skara for a topic
you mean this? I knocked it up in 30 seconds on a random meme generator website. To get the best Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II feeling you need massive overvoluming for starters, which the Firehawk/ARP guns do very well with their silly short barrels. Then, if you can find it, an ARP plastic amplifier, those things work a treat! Failing that, any Noveske clone will do. I have a KA amplifier but it's not very effective. Oh, you need silly RPS too for maximum BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT1 point -
Cheers for that. Fire Selector wise, I think it can effect all of them depending on how it was put back together and just takes a couple of adjustments to fix it. There is a knack to it. I think mine are fine though. I forgot I had a spare gearbox shell and Motor Cage as well (Motor Cages are sold out world wide being the weak point in high FPS builds) So that would be worth something. Still on the fence about selling. I did ask elsewhere but people seem to think £280 is the max I could get for it... But they also tried to offer that same amount to me in PM. (Despite saying no PMs!)1 point

Krytac woes
snuff reacted to Cr0-Magnon for a topic
It's definitely not the best "out of the box" AEG. Out of all the many RIF's I've owned, that title belongs to the Modify XTC-G1-MS Aster. My Krytac was fine, though like you I noticed little to no difference with a prommy barrel fitted. I'm also a big proponent for keeping the stock hop unit when it's a rotary design. Although understand your pain with the Krytac, as losing a small pin can render it useless or at least you having to bodge an alternative. My advice would be not to throw good money after bad, stick to the stock inner barrel as you already have it.1 point -

I suspect most of them do to some extent, or at least the ones that get any sort of popular attention. Bold statements of fact, no matter how crazy, are always more appealing than the truth, which is usually "We don't know, this is at best a semi-informed guess" See also "my fU11y uPgR4d3d gun can shoot like a laser at 100m" versus "all airsoft guns are basically the same". An historian chum did once let slip that radio carbon dating works like this: you decide what date you want something to be, and you keep sending your sample to be dated (at different, or even the same lab) until you either get the number that you want, or you run out of budget.1 point -

Heh, this takes me back to my historic reenactment stitch-counting days. That appears to be from Diodorus Siculus, a 1st century BC Greek historian writing, or rather anthologist. One of his citations was Ctesias of Cnidus, of the monopodal claims above, so that's the level of veracity we can expect. The citations I can find for that refer to Gauls, rather than Britons. All Celts though, right? This purports to be a Roman Republic coin depicting a Celt. How do we know it's a Celt? Well, it looks like a Celt. How do we know what Celts looked like? Here's a coin that looks like one (and around we go). Likewise, this is cited as a Roman copy of a Greek statue and has been dubbed "The Dying Gaul", by much the same circular reasoning. This is more interesting, it's apparently a British Iceni coin, cited as "Bury F". That's the only context I can find for it. You can read into it what you like, and those who want to wear crusty dreads doubtless will. You can find similar looking images on other coins here, which do seem superficially compelling, until you look at the other side and often see horses with their manes depicted in the same fashion. It would be curious to take such pride in an animal that you'd depict it on your coinage, but with its mane all skanky and tangled. People are going to see what they want to see though. The "hair like snakes" quote is widely attributed to Julius Caesar, but when challenged, nobody seem able to cite a source. It doesn't appear in this English translation of The Gallic Wars. The closest is this passage:1 point

They're around £365, new without a scope. Frankly the only thing you actually need is a new spring as they shoot around 1.3j out of the box. So the gun, scope, spring and spare mags should set you back less than £500. It doesn't need any performance upgrades, I was easily outranging AEGs by at least 20m on .4s. The only thing I may change at some point is a new piston to make it a bit quieter but that's by no means a necessity.1 point -

Now THAT is a day of airsofting! I definitely recommend anyone who can goes and checks out UCAP bunker, just 100% bring a light with you and probably hearing protection. My first time playing CBQ and it was an absolute blast. The camo colours only with the dark or single coloured lights caused a great deal of confusion that was pretty well overcome by the homeguard with callouts. Excellent team play all day long, everyone played hard capturing objectives and sneaking up on enemies. The final firefight for the ark was a bloodbath, and it came down to the final minute of gameplay before the civvies managed to push through. The site itself is incredible. Loads of dark corners and shortcuts to crawl through. Decent cover on corridors to have good firefights down them. Some incredibly tight corridors, barely wide enough for two people, flanked by doors either side, it's a great place for tense ambushes. After a few bangs the smoke down there with no airflow creates a totally new environment, your light stops becoming effective at longer ranges, the dark tunnels become darker. I'd have loved to see more of it, but the middle acted as a pretty significant choke point for our team. Amazing day though, I'll be back there again, and 100% if it's a game organized by the worthing team.1 point -
