I actually found a screw that fit from a broken Xbox controller I'd dismantled. I used to do a bit of Airsoft years ago when I was like 14/15/16. Always wanted my own AEG. Been looking at getting back into it since December, but the site's around me fill up quick if you're hiring kit. So just bought this M4 so I can get involved. Now I'm concerned it'll die on me like an hour into my first game day or something ππ€¦ββοΈ3 points

Nice. How much fettling was required to get the nose cap to fit? Thinking of doing the same to mine. I dont have a real bayonet, but I did purchase a rubber replica from vintage airsoft (along with a rubber commando Dagger for a seperate ww2 loadout) , so at least I can skirmish with it Crap pics I know, I took them late last night...2 points

Mag pouches that'll work well for both M4 and AUG (and SIG and anything else I might buy)
RostokMcSpoons and one other reacted to Skara for a topic
Templars Gear taco clones, great quality and not even that expensive at around β¬25/pouch. Failing that, Helikon makes good open top universal (ish) pouches that take M4 and Ak mags no problem, I paid β¬18 a piece for mine (never used them though, discarded my old chest rig project so sold them on as new). The inside is so grippy you'll have troubles pulling mags out, so you won't lose anything. Failing that (you want cheaper) any taco clone will do. Keep in mind that the emerson/TMC ones aren't that grippy and mags can actually slide out pretty easily.2 points -

Took this off @Asomodai's hands .... TM High Cycle pushing out ~25rps. Oh dear, broke the '20 is plenty' rule, making me a hypocrite. In my defence, m'lud, I was getting owned up by the HPA'ers last time. This won't give me the range but at least it'll compete on rate of fire. I might stick an amplifier on it, see whether it freaks people out Edit: Got to say this has the best fake bolt action of any AEG I've meddled with so far, a really nice metallic 'clickety-clack' when pulling and releasing on the charging handle. I wish more gnus would pay attention to that!2 points -

If you stick with airsoft, you'll soon build up a collection of small random screws which were apparently surplus to factory requirements. Alternatively, eBay or Amazon can provide boxes of small assorted screws, or you can stamp on some kids' toys and see what you end up with. Yes, ideally there should be something pushing the hop unit back against the gearbox. You've also going to start eyeing up things around the house as likely sources of parts, like biro or battery-box springs. You could also use a rubber o-ring over the barrel, or in extremis wrap a rubber band around it and see if that gives you the right amount of shimming.2 points

It really was a very small amount of fettling. 5 minutes with a file . I popped off the black plate behind the front sight (it's just a press fit) and filed the front lip down a bit , kept trying the front cap and filing untill it fitted . I deliberatly left it at the 'quite tight' stage . The original front cross bolt and lower screw went straight back in.1 point

normally i tend to go for the standard (not swiss cheesed, you can save more weight by not running a thrust bearing on the piston end) rocket/shs pistons from ak2m4. either 14.5t or a 15t and file down a tooth as appropriate. steel rack can push the problem elsewhere, but they can still fail, especially if the rack isn't glued in proper.1 point -
Playairsoft β a Crowd-sourced List of UK Airsoft Sites
shadowfacex reacted to Khyber for a topic
Hey have visited the site a few times now. Keep up the great work. Would like to suggest if you ever plan in having an account system then being able to add sites to your own 'played at' and 'want to visit' lists would be great. I for one want to try and play at as many sites as I can being a newish player. And being able to keep track of sites I want to visit from recommendations or watching youtube gameplay would be great. Kind of like an online version of that airsoft site map poster with checkboxes. thanks1 point -

I run a 455mm Crazy Jet in my MK12 DMR build and it has been very good. I can get 450fps on green gas as long as the weather is reasonable and I havenβt noticed any difference in my groupings or accuracy at 50m (which is the longest I can test at home). I usually run .36g BBs at 385fps rather than .2s at 450 fps. It gives much better overall performance for me at least.1 point -
Heavier BBs, 0.36 to 0.40, Most Cost Effective To Buy In 2022?
Tackle reacted to Tactical Pith Helmet for a topic
Everyone who works producing BBs has to submit a sample of genetic material. That way any faulty BBs can be traced to whoever placed each one in the bag or bottle. Since us buying Valkyries enables that poor young lass to pursue her dream of being an actress, she kisses each BB out of gratitude. If you look closely each bears a small smear of lipstick, enabling Luke to identify the brand with no expensive lab work required. Hudson has actually written about 95% of my comment regarding actual weights already.1 point -

What Rogerborg said. Anyway KWA don't make a M712 do you mean KWC? also which version as they make NBB and GBB models that are co2 powered. HFC also make a NBB co2 (probably the same gun as KWC) and WE make a green gas GBB that will not be hot. For the KWC you could either widen the nozzle to reduce pressure, reduce the spring on the knocker valve striker to reduce gas volume Or not use co2 at all and get some refillable green gas bulbs.1 point

New player Blackpool
shadowfacex reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Ahoy and welcome. I'd emphasise that despite the odd bit of handbagging here, airsoft tends to be a super-welcoming hobby where folk generally enjoy helping new players out. Ask someone about their gun or gear and the problem will be getting them to shut up. So if you can't find anyone to meet up or go with, I'd still go along solo - it's really easy to get talking to people.1 point -

Here's mine. Its not currently got an engine in and has not had one for 9 months. Bottom end bearings went bye bye. Should be back this month. Not many people are aware of the 4 door R34s and the ones that do take a strange look on them. I personally love them. Maybe its a sign that I'm getting older but ever since I drove a B5 S4 I have been in love with 4 door saloons. The engine being out has been a bit of a blessing, although its been a boring 9 months without the car, its got some goodies going in such as forged pistons and rods, link ecu and a few other goodies.1 point

Some more mockery incoming, no doubt π My mate does 3D modelling, he designed a skull image to go with the username Skullchewer, which I have been using for online gaming, Airsoft etc for... over 20 years. My two MWS builds! question for the guys running DMR builds, the MK12 is currently set up with the following: PDI 370mm barrel MR HOP 50 deg Trimmed omega nub Black NPAS As it stands on a 0.2 itβs clocking at circa 375fps (1.3J) and around 1.73J on a 0.4 That is with the NPAS wound all the way out on green gas (Vorsk V6) at room temperature Is my only real option here moving to red/black gas to see around 400-425fps on a 0.2? Would a longer barrel really make much of a difference? Fairly sure there is no air leak as power is consistent and Iβm seeing similar figures from the L119 (albeit slightly lower with the factory barrel) Anyone done a power comparison between green and red gas? cheers!1 point -

For sale. A rectangular cardboard box. Good quality print work. A lovely shade of brown. Comes with a completely crap king arms SAA. Would look good if you want something to put on your wall and show both your love for guns and your solidarity for the LGBTQ community with its rainbow colour scheme. It holds gas. When you pull the trigger some even comes out of the barrel. Though most goes somewhere else. Mostly on your hand. Hell, run it on propane, who doesn't want their hand to smell like rotten anus? Reminds me of when uncle Brian used to come round for playtime... It comes with 6 shells, so if you are stupid enough to already own one of these then hooray, you have a means of carrying another 6 shots of bitter disappointment. And some spares so you can prolong your poor decision even further. This one has been customised. Actually, I'm going to call it weathering. By that I mean I dropped it on a slab about 10 minutes ago by accident while trying to be pretty good. Turns out I'm not pretty good. What else... Oh, faux wood grips that look like they were fashioned from a mid 1990s rover interior. It has a gun sock too to keep it looking pristine. Until you twirl it and it lands on something hard. Like a slab. Or, for the teenagers browsing this forum, the sock could good for a wank or two while watching the free bit of porn that comes on telly between midnight and 1am because mum put a filter on the internet. So , what this is is a gun for everyone. Horny teenagers, the downtrodden, the weirdos and those who like something a bit custom. So for this unique opportunity to own something I can't be arsed to put in the bin, I am asking for 35 of your hard earned (or if your furloughed, hard wanked) great british queens pounds please, that includes paying a man in shorts to come and post a sorry we missed you card through your letterbox and kick your cat in the face on the way back up the drive. And in return you'll get the most honestly described airsoft gun since jambwow discovered crack.Β£35
