A3 front on the WE L85, really liking the difference it makes to the look and the feel of the gun. Also like the fact that being green it keeps the classic L85 colour scheme.

I've got an XR5 , it's a hoot.Shoots well , has a mahoosive battery compartment and will take normal M4 mags although the correct ones look way cooler.

never tried the pads i'll admit to treating him to cat towers with hessian rope scratching posts, only the best. needless to say he's only interested in the box it came in.......

Which reminds me.... I found that the cat scratcher pads made out of corrugated cardboard make an excellent BB catcher when they're worn out and good only for the bin. They don't catch every shot, but have minimised the number of BB's lying on the lawn. They absorb most of the shots, and quietly too

@JakeF You have to get that grub screw out otherwise you'll never get the muzzle / flash hider off of it, also DE use a little thread lock on it so it's a total bitch to remove it. I got through a few allen / hex keys that just stripped themselves to nothing as the thread lock is blindingly strong. Ahoy and welcome. Not that I have either, but I'd note that the original TM and clones are under-sized, while (e.g.) the VFC is 1:1, so any advice about what fits what will be conditional. These are a thing.

Calling them like it is. The sim i did i took small bandages that were like 21p in bulk, bought some medic scissors, went the whole nine yards. The 'medics' team were using bandanas that they were barely wrapping before tapping chest to say you are back in. So yeah, check and ask.

It might depend on how real life real military real millsim your real-battle realsim is. Honestly, the amount of "how do?" in airsoft that could be answered by one query to the Dungeon Master of the LARP in question.

Ibuprofen

Just use a bandage chopped to a suitable length. I've also used a sock cut down the sides to double the length. Either simply tied to your arm is sufficient at Battlesims. All it is is an indicator you've been shot.

Yesterday two kids got lost in the woods (very thick vegetation, especially in that area with trees so low you have to actually crawl underneath and you have no reference points to look at and track, it was also their first time in that particular part of the field). Now, we know the field like the back of our hands and finding them was easy, but why the fuck did you decide to NOT backtrack and instead you picked a completely random direction? Also, when people shout your name, why the fuck wouldn't you answer back? When confronted, one of them kept bitching because "he knew where they were" which was obviously false, if they knew where they were, they wouldn't have had to be rescued lol.

Being a sci fi buff I've always wanted to unleash my inner John 117 or Doomguy on the airsoft field. None of this MTP stuff or fancy plate carriers for me. Anyway, having been inspired by @Rogerborg's rather fantastic Warhammer 40k armour and having my eyes popped at rather mental cosplay piece prices on Etsy and the like, with the winter nights ahead I decided to build my own unique armour set from EVA foam. So, here goes. 20 quid worth of a camping/yoga/whatever mat fresh off Amazon. But none of that boring smeg for Eezer G. We're doing summat much more exciting... and it's going to get shot to shit too, authentic battle damage 😂 Did some measurements of my torso using a vest and started hacking at the mat with a nice sharp craft knife. Keeping the shape basic for now, with additions to come later. Measured my noggin and cut out a space for it, and here's what we end up with. As luck would have it, the shape I cut out for my bonce ideally suited shoulder armour bits, so I traced another one out and chopped away again. Next up, forearm and shin bits. More measuring and cutting, heres what we have. That's enough for tonight, happy with the start so far. Will dremel away the rough edges, sort out attachments and cut away some of the abdomen for ease of movement next I think. Loving the pattern, which I deliberately used for effect. Its worth noting I've never done anything like this before, so it could all still go tits up, however all a learning experience. Ebeneezer G

Welcome to the never-ending temptations of acquiring airsoft gear... Hope you're first game goes well, I'm sure you'll love it! Best advice I could give before spending any more moolah is - get out and play, play, play, that way you'll get a feel for what you'd need/like without wasting cash on stuff that sounds or looks great but is of not much use. Looks like you've got much of what you'll need to start out. I'd recommend 2 or 3 mags for reloads and maybe a spare battery. Don't worry too much about sidearm at this stage. Wouldn't worry at fps with hop added, one of the effects is a reduction in velocity and I'd say that 270 with hop applied is decent. Gearbox might just need some lubrication? Springs need time to settle when new, wouldn't worry too much.

Ah the XR5, one of my dream gnus. The one above, OD with the moulded handguard and triangular stock, is the one I'd love to get... ...but airsoft gnus are rare as rocking horse shit right now. Still, give it time... For now the UAR is filling the role of Eezer's 25th Century space marine assault rifle rather well.

It was okay today. Played with midcaps because my lonex are all in pieces for maintenance and repairs (got very little spare time these days and everything takes thrice as long), I genuinely thought I would be outgunned but nope, it was completely fine, I guess I should use them more (on the ak, for example, if I can fix the mosfet overheating issue). Having a proper Odin does help massively though! Next time, of it's not raining, I'll crack out the ak and smersh, haven't touched it since this summer.

The first parcel has arrived from Patrol Base. in this parcel there is my trousers, hoodie, gloves, helmet & tactical vest. all fits great and can’t wait to play my first proper game on the 19th December. hopefully the rest of my gear will be here the beginning of this week.

I have this. It's great. I literally ran it today, but in my opinion you have to take the top strap off so it's snug at the top of your leg otherwise it does what all drop leg holsters do and swing around your knee awkwardly.

I love my TM GBB MP7 but i would not even consider trying to carry it around if i was playing the sniper role. It's just too big and heavy. It would get more in the way and not enough usage to make it worth while. Go with a decent pistol. If you must spray and pray. An 18C

Banter aside, they're not magical out of the box, they're OK-ish, light, and can be upgraded to the moon. The current new price is about £85 if you can find one in stock, which you probably can't.

So, heres what we have at present. Sone additions to be made to the chest piece and need to sort the shoulder pieces, however it's getting there.

I think I'm going to leave the belly exposed a la classic Doomguy (minus the six-pack and torn shirt). I'm going to integrate a belt into the lower section across the cutaway anyway to attach a couple of mag pouches for a nice low-drag, simple rig, so there will be a modicum of protection there. Also considering a drop leg MOLLE panel for extra storage (plus thigh coverage...) if required. Have been putting a lot of thought into the shoulders, in short I not sure what to do yet however it'll be a case of suck it and see. As you say I can hack bits away if there's too much in the way. Although i am rather liking the squared off wedginess of it at present... Coming together nicely for now. I'm not looking for too slick a look, I'd like it to look a bit used and worn in so not fussed about the odd rough edge here and there. At the end of of day it's going to get shot at repeatedly and will end up covered in welts, holes and lodged BBs which will provide authentic damage and, if necessary, I'll just patch over it and it'll look even more worn... Afternoon fellow warriors. A few days off, so having done assorted chores around the house, decided to do some more work on the armour. Dremelled away most of the rough edges and cut out space for arms and belly to avoid any stormtrooper-esque mishaps. I wonder if that's why they are so bad at shooting? Anyway, some progress today. Next step will be starting to glue things together and shape, which should prove fun.

At the other end of the spectrum, I sometimes call hits only to realise a moment later it was likely some debris falling from the trees.
