  1. I'm pretty sure I've seen this originally posted on Instagram and this is very, very much an Instagram loadout. This is in fact the pinnacle of tacticool IG cosplay. Could you play a skirmish in it? Yeah of course, the reality will just be quite shitty in use compared to a well done loadout. First off, day NODs (probably dummies). An extraneous amount of bullshit strapped around legs that will make running 5x harder than needed, not to even mention the fact the holster's round their knee. Pretty sure the left leg bag is something from WW2. Half ghillie that clashes hugely with the zero effort put in to camouflaging the rest of the stuff he's got on. Gun setup is pure butt-produce and all based around social media posing not any sort of real life experience. PC with ghillie doesn't make a lot of sense. Overall attempts to mix the cool stuff from both real-world recce and CQB gear and will be ineffective at both. If any given person is more in to the dress up than anything else that's 100% fine but they should never be under any illusion that it'll be practical in the woods. This kit looks like it's from a video game and the tac gear in video games is almost always horribly done in every respect other than looking super cool to 15 year olds who don't know anything about real gear.

  4. You can convert a ‘normal’ one to fit a TM recoil , basically you have Make the inside bigger by Dremeling the shit out of it so it’ll fit over the TM gearbox .

  5. Er, how? I can't see that they have any UK presence, or any address that you could use for service. And thanks for the warning, but their site is quite obviously written in third best Chinglish, lacks any contact or (actual) company information, and they're quite open that they're shipping from China. You took a gamble and lost, it happens. Just instruct your payment processor to do a chargeback because it's non-functional, and get on with your life.

  6. Much research has revealed that my RPB M11-A1 is in fact of KSC manufacture which has the patent to stamp the full RPB label and Cobray motif. It is similar to the HFC, KWA, ASG and so on. I sourced the HFC M11 magazine that should be compatible which has been ordered and eagerly awaited. Thanks guys for all for your help in this matter.

  10. Hey all, I'm an old hand returning to the sport after 7/8 years off. I've checked out a few 'what's new' threads but my main concern is the state of my AEGs after so long on the shelf. They've been boxed and dry, just not necessarily warm, for the last 7 years, externally they all look pretty good and still cycle nicely. However, should I consider the Hop rubbers and batteries (all at least 10 years old) as knackered and just replace the lot? Also, is dropping in a Maple Leaf rubber really as miraculous as the feedback would have me believe? Thanks in advance.

  14. What about this: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/double-eagle-m916g-utr556?pv=17877 Lots of us have a Double Eagle from this range and early indications are that they are great value.

The reason I was pushing to see the pic is that we can probably find links quicker because most of us have seen this all before! Don't feel bad about asking for help!

  16. That's a really nice ghillie and I love the colours. Thanks for sharing it. It's exactly the kind of quality I am looking for. I don't mind sharing it, I just didn't want to seem like I'm trying to get others to do the work of finding it for me. But here it is. Thank you! Life saver! I'll have a look through all these and see what I can find.

  20. They did, cycle lights shouldn't strobe at more than 4Hz. Source. That's actually a little fast, as frequencies as low as 3Hz can (rarely) trigger epilepsy. Source. Even as a born again lycropath, I agree that there are some obnoxious lights out there. I run an Cateye "800"[*] lumen retina-burner on my bicycle, but keep it on the least hurty flashing mode while on or near a road, turn it down, and/or cover it with a hand, as necessary. [*] Where we wander vaguely back to airsoft is that lumen claims are all over the place. What I will say is that it's actually uncomfortable shading towards painful to hold an unprotected hand in front of my "800" lumen bicycle light. If you're buying some 100,00,0000 lumen TrueVastWindFire flashlight and don't experience similar toastiness, then you can reset your beliefs about its intensity accordingly.

  22. You're dangerously close to breaking Life Rule No1 - don't be a dick. It's not on the person with photo sensitive epilepsy to "do their research" and avoid YOU, it's on YOU to do YOUR research and not use it when you're told not to. Likelihood is that they will check during the safety briefing and ban their use on the day if anyone says they have an issue with strobe lighting. Well, that's a budget then, isn't it? Night Evolution, Element, Aim-O copies of the M300 or M600 weapon light would be your best bet. Some versions come with a head that allows you to select strobe or constant and have built in mounts for picatinny rails.

  26. eBay UK for cheap surplus MTP and DPM Flecktarn.co.uk for budget-to-mid range stuff that hits a nice value point Hueys.co.uk Tactical-kit.co.uk for more gucci stuff UKtactical.com is a steady bet British Tactical is great but takes a smidge more knowledge to understand and C2R fast are about to launch their site if you're feeling rich and want what the SAS use these days. The majority of the rest of the tactical gear available in the UK is clones imported from China and some is good for airsoft and some is hot garbage, you roll the dice.

  27. Yep. This. I've done it in a short-sleeved black t-shirt and plain OD trousers. Yes, it's easier in a ghillie or leaf suit, but where's the fun in that? Makes it too easy I'll also vouch army surplus shops if you're just starting out. Some DPM BDUs, a pair of boots, some simple wool gloves, a boonie hat and a set of PLCE webbing will cost you very little and it'll supply you with everything you need for the games from a gear perspective. Naturally, this all comes after things like quality eye-pro (Sawflys are great), a gun and some BBs. My first "loadout" was all army surplus with a cheapo BASR. Had a single magazine and no sidearm. It was glorious.

  29. Is that an assumption, or do you know of any shipments on the way? Anything coming in will have to get past the literal highway robbers on the M25 first, and given how fast everything is selling out, it'll still be a case of buying whatever's available before someone else does.

  30. If you have the strength of character it would be best to wait for new stock to come in. It should be before the end of the year so 5 weeks max.

  32. Watch the Sweary Man (c)(tm) dissect each manufacturer here: Skip the first 3 minutes. It's long and there are lots of Naughty Words. But as a tech he'll give you an idea of how good each company's products are. (He likes Cyma and Double Eagle at the cheaper end, but there are some other manufacturers I know sod-all about that he rates too, and they might actually be in stock)

  33. It would be fine, although please be aware that it's plastic bodied. A nice plastic, but that money gets you into the metal bodied EDGE range. Oh... but they're out of stock. Hmm, I see what you mean. Out of stock, out of stock, out of stock, all the way down. And I don't really rate the X-ASR mosftet in the CORE/EDGE range. It's there just for trigger contact protection, and is fine with the stock motors, but gets sketchy if you fit a higher draw aftermarket motor. Given that, there's no particular reason to buy the higher priced CORE guns over the cheaper SA-C06 / SA-C08, as they're all plastic, and have the same decent rotary hop and QC spring system. Or if you want compact and a mosfet, the SA-C12 will do the same job as the C25 for less. The good news is that looking at what PatrolBase actually have in stock today in terms of M4 AEGs under £200, I would say that any of them will be fine, except I'd avoid the Nuprols like the plague, and Evolution Airsoft are still an unknown quantity. Lancer Tacticals went through a ropey phase, but so did Specna, and they both seem OK at the moment. I wouldn't over-think it, because at the moment if you snooze, you lose - the Double Eagles appear to be totally out of stock now.

  34. Yeah that's a good choice. I've just been through the same journey as you, ending up buying a Double Eagle M906c... you could search for my threads, if you're a masochist 😋 I'm actually keeping an eye out on the Black Friday sales as I would like to pick up a bargain backup gun. Your choice did catch my eye again yesterday, but it's still at full price. Very nice gun though and was in the running when I was originally looking. Now the interesting thing is Patrolbase actually have the M906 marked as a Black Friday deal at £120/130 which would be an absolute steal. (and it would piss me off somewhat as I paid £40 more) It's still at 'OOS' but why lower the price when it's been like that for a few weeks? Are they going to reveal some stock on the day? Worth keeping an eye out for that!

  35. Btw another alternative to these is sprinter custom ghillie... They're top quality although they cost a lot more but if you want something off the shelf that's your best bet. You can pick them up from longbow Airsoft. Edit: I should add this is just a promotional Photo from the SCG website, just as an explanation so the OP can see the difference.

  36. General kit - try your local army surplus store. Something like a cobra hood, really there are 3 options, KMCS (expensive), Novritsch (cheaper) or make your own from a viper hood. You won't buy the perfect ghillie, even the good ones like the KMCS come pre-requisited you will need to craft them and apply some veg yourself. That's just part of fitting in to your surroundings.

  39. A few little bits and pieces have turned up in the last couple of days... The sling was from Action Hobbies' bargain bin. Bought on a whim, it's pretty good. It'll get replaced by a QD 2-point sling eventually. The scope mounts are a bargain from Ant Supplies. Delivered very quickly, free p&p. I decided these mounts are too low, so I straight away ordered some extra tall ones, £6.50 (I've got a decent red-dot, but fancied using that old 4x32 scope I've had since I was a kid, to see how it plays) The M4 tool came from Ant Supplies too. Thought it'd be useful to have when I'm futzing around with my old CA M15. The Kombat UK holster is pretty decent for a cheapo. At least if fits on my Molle properly, unlike the belt loop one I had before that I had to lash in place with paracord. The BB Pouch was also bought on a whim... it'll be useful if I keep running hi-caps, perhaps even more so if I go ahead with buying mid-caps. And last, and perhaps least, the Project Airsoft stubby grip. Hmmm... 3D-printed rather than moulded, not what I really expected. It fits fine, but just looks cheap close-up. The grey grip tape is so fierce it can do double duty as a sanding block, but I guess it'll grip into my gloves (and perhaps shred them). The best thing about is - I'm now sure I want a vertical grip on my gun - so I'll go and buy this one from Airsoft Anonymous I got a couple more bits from Project Airsoft that aren't in the pic (as they're small and wouldn't show) - a high-cap mini funnel device, and a M92 gas mag 'thumb saver'. The funnel will work, but I'll probably lose it. The M92 doesn't fit my M9 mag (but probably will with some filing)... and I'll probably lose that too!

I'm talking specifically about night games, in dark woodland. Having done one with a torch, I won't be doing another without night vision, which means I won't be doing another. I'm not making a big deal of it, just wondering whether NV is such an (actual) game changer that the end result might be a few big spenders hunting each other in the darkness, if it's even viable for sites to keep running night games once us Poors get tired of being predated without any effective counter response. I can assure you that in reality, nobody's running around in woodland at night.

Joking aside, after being DESTROYED by people with decent NV, why would Poors pay to get rekt again? I'd be a little concerned that once you have enough people out there giving it the full Predator that they'll be the only people doing night games.

Using a Thermal scope is a hell of a lot of fun, different options out there now across a variety of budget, gives you an unbelievable advantage whether day or night, sure some will state pay to win etc.!! - Me I'm just a peacock & enjoy the toys, also like going up against the NV users I run a couple of different set ups with Thermal 1- RIF Mounted Thermal Scope - Have a Pulsar XQ50 LRF Trial 2 which is an unbelievable piece of kit, easily dialled with range detection well over a couple of thousand yards, you can get around at night using this set up although it is a touch more challenging, I'll use my NV Mono to get around at pace, then once in a clearing switch to the Thermal for target ID, advance using the Thermal & eliminate the enemy. Recently added some 3d printed hex lens protectors to fend off those pesky bb's, although have run a Thermal for a few years now, never had an issue & the germanium lens is tough as f**k, but never say never hence the addition of the lens protector(s) 2- NV Mounted COTI (Clip on Thermal Imager) - Currently runs with a NV Mono (although binos are due today), overlays a Thermal Image onto the NV objective lens, effectively giving you green Thermal, nowhere near as good as a decent Thermal scope, but will up the NV ability considerably as even the best NV can struggle under poor conditions / dense canopy etc. Couple of pics below, caveating that I am not an NV or Thermal expert & have come to these set ups under my own previous experience & recommendations from others
