And a really bad way to find out is while running, or standing at the top of a staircase. Nope, and nope. This is where the Equality Act 2010 kicks in. It's not up to people with disabilities to avoid sites. Sites needs to make reasonable adjustments in order to ensure that they can provide their service to people with illnesses or disabilities. What's "reasonable" is highly subjective, but this one is a no brainer. There's no particular reason to use strobes (as opposed to steady lights), and nobody is going to be disadvantaged by disallowing them. You are absolutely right to ask them to prohibit them so that you can play there. How it went at the Depot is that they used to ask if anyone had photo sensitive epilepsy, and allowed or disallowed strobes for that day depending on the answer. However, they then switched to a straight blanket ban because people either might not know, or might hesitate to speak up because the selfish chuckleheads with strobes used to boo whenever anyone did. Any CQB site that's given it a moment's thought will come to the same conclusion.3 points

Hello airsofters, I am making this post because I have recently had a very bad experience with an airsoft website called "Tactical Gear Trade." They advertise themselves as a UK website but are actually based in China and all of their products are shipped from China. I bought an L85 SA80 SUSAT scope from their website which took a very long time to deliver (much longer than estimated time) and when it eventually arrived and I tested it out, the scope had been wrongly manufactured and its inner sight (crosshair) was massively misaligned and could not be adjusted to make it in line with the gun. I then contacted the company to tell them of this issue and request that I could return it (to china) and receive a refund and they have not accepted the fact the scope is broken and keep telling me that it can be fixed and all I need to do is adjust it (which does not fix the issue at all) and despite sending them several emails to emphasise that the scope is completely faulty and can't be fixed, they keep replying to me saying that I just need to adjust it. So it looks like I'm going to have to sue the company in the small claims court as they will not give me a refund and will not even acknowledge the fact they they have sold me a broken product. Basically what I want to make clear is that they are a very badly run company and are selling faulty products and refusing to refund customers for them. Don't buy anything from their website as it will just be money lost and wasted time.2 points

The TM looks great 👍 Once you have the stock it will be complete 😁 I got a CYMA M870 folding stock and grafted it onto an ASG SPAS It worked out quite well and luckily I'm not worried about accuracy to the real one 😄2 points

LzChase and one other reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
getting the scope lower would definitely help, although needless to say a lot of it is just the limitation of the platform. think for me it's a case of usually monopod on the mag is "good enough" for the standards of airsoft levels of range/accuracy, although granted i would seldom go prone for any real length of time so normally the bipod is just dead weight. ofc for aesthetic purposes it's a moot point as to whether or not it's actually useful, and because it looks cool is as valid a reason as any other (after all, if we cared only about performance why an m14 at all?)2 points -

must admit, i'm finding that refreshingly straightforward, whilst i'm not generally a fan of bipods in airsoft due to limited utility there are some guns that suit them, and that's definitely one. only thing i'd really comment on is that scope offset looks like it'd make for more of a beard weld than a chin weld, perhaps an old-school padded stock sleeve to rise it up whilst fitting the look?2 points -

Best way in the UK to purchase a neat tactical outfit?

eBay UK for cheap surplus MTP and DPM Flecktarn.co.uk for budget-to-mid range stuff that hits a nice value point Hueys.co.uk Tactical-kit.co.uk for more gucci stuff UKtactical.com is a steady bet British Tactical is great but takes a smidge more knowledge to understand and C2R fast are about to launch their site if you're feeling rich and want what the SAS use these days. The majority of the rest of the tactical gear available in the UK is clones imported from China and some is good for airsoft and some is hot garbage, you roll the dice.2 points -
Tokyo Marui, are they always a safe bet?
Hudson and one other reacted to EvilMonkee for a topic
Personally I don't think their AEGs are all that. Previously, 5-10 years ago yes, absolutely, when other manufacturers struggled with QC etc. But not now, and especially given their rather singular focus on the Japanese market which usually necessitates upgrades to attain UK FPS levels. You are buying for the name and reputation. Now, where they are absolutely the best is in their range of pistols and GBBR, which are pretty much universally excellent.2 points -

"Do I need a proper ghillie to be a sneaky sniper? Do I need to shell out for a full leaf suit and spend hours, days, weeks, months, years crafting it to perfection?" No. No you do not. One of the marshalls finally found me and snapped a pic of me being one with the bush. This is my lightweight, summer loadout that I've been using because my current ghillie isn't great in woodland as it's really a grassland ghillie and gets caught on literally everything (Worthing Airsoft has basically no grass). Rifle wrap is Sprinter Custom Ghillie and the hood is a Stich Profi Russian leaf hood. Haven't crafted anything onto either of them (the SCG stuff doesn't need crafting anyway...), just picked a good spot that didn't silhouette me and kept still2 points -

RockerBear92 and one other reacted to Badgerlicious for a topic
Finally remembered to take a pic while out. I'm definitely in the "premium" stage of my kit 😂 Though the ghillie is crafted, I'm using a Viper concealment vest base, some jack pyke stealth camo hide net, and some raffia and fake plants. I've had people walk right past me when I'm low to the ground. Using some jack pyke digicam soft shell clothing, which is decently warm and waterproof, and seems to be a good camo pattern though possibly approaching a bit dark for this time of year. Also a digicam balaclava that's been cut up and attached to my mesh mask. A simple kombat chest rig with their molle yoke for holding my knife and comms, and a hydro pack on the back. It's a nice lightweight kit with a surprising amount of space for things. Also a drop leg dump pouch, no idea what brand, I just bought it of some guy. Not pictured is the tactical bum bag, very handy I must say. Gun is a nuprol ak21, all the compression and hop parts have been changed, and it's getting new gears, motor, and mosfet soon. Pretty nice so far, it throws 0.36s out to a bit past 60m at 1j. Also a hawke 3-9x scope, really nice for woodland I find. I can track shots through narrow gaps in bushes easily, and the little rmr on top means I can be reasonably quick at close range. It's covered in jack pyke tough tape.2 points -

Replica of the M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle, condition is good, bought as my first RIF. I have never played outside with it, only CQB for a few times until I went for the ARP9. Bought from FubarBundy in December 2019 and has been collecting dust since January 2020. Unsure what the FPS is as I don't have a chrono, but it rattles the garden shed nicely. I can provide a video of it firing if needed. It comes with a battery, one high cap and one low cap mag and the key to wind the high cap up. I can include the replica Acog, it's magnified but I'm not sure how much (probably x4 as they all seem to be if not a red dot) it has a functional fibre optic reticle. Element PEQ box is functional too, with light and laser pointer, not sure if the IR function works, never tried it. Foregrip and bipod. RIF with 2x magazines and battery is £160 + postage (PF48) If you want the accessories then its £220 + postage. Collection available.£160

Looking for a strobe light for CQB
Cannonfodder reacted to Guyver1 for a topic
I agree , but i do have the option to not look at the TV and I know i am photo sensitive. Not everyone who is photo sensitive knows it. The frequency of the flash is a factor. So imagine you are an unknown photo sensitive and you rock up to a game and get flashed (completelyinnocently ) by a strobe light that it just the right frequency to induce a seizure in you. Depending on how your brain reacts you may You feel a little disorientated and maybe you feel a bit ill. Shake it off and carry on. You end up on the deck, possibly twitching and you can loose control of your bodily functions. When you come too you feel groggy and need to get a change of clothes. You airsoft day is over and you won't feel right for a day or so. At worst seizures are life threatening1 point -
Tokyo Marui, are they always a safe bet?
Lozart reacted to EvilMonkee for a topic
Thanks I couldnt remember what it was for the AKS74U1 point -
That kind of light can induce a seizure for people, like me , who have photo sensitive epilepsy. Most indoor and some outdoor sites do not let them be used. This is why news reports and TV programs often warn of flashing images ... Probably should add that not everyone who has photo sensitive epilepsy, knows they have it, I avoid sites which allow strobes.1 point

Fieldcraft... ahh many happy memories as both an air cadet and subsequently as a CI teaching it. Great fun! And also very useful in skirmishes. Trying to blend in with your surroundings however generally helps. Turning up in grey joggers or a black boiler suit wielding a 2 tone will get you shot at, lots. I know, I've done it... haha. Hadn't come across Pencott before, very good. However the OP still hasn't given us any clues as to what they want to look like, leaving us all guessing. Everyone has different ideas of "essentials", I'd say if using pouches improves your game then absolutely go for it... although my reload times are still woeful, a good 20 seconds of clumsy fumbling on a good day. D'oh! Never mind John 117, I'm more like a clumsy blaster fodder Stormtrooper at the front of an Imperial boarding crew...1 point -

A man sees a sign outside a house - 'Talking Dog For Sale.' He rings the bell, the owner appears and tells him the dog can be viewed in the back garden. The man sees a very nice looking Labrador Retriever sitting there. "Do you really talk?" he asks the dog. "Yes," the Labrador replies. After recovering from the shock of hearing the dog talk, the man asks, "So, tell me your story." The Labrador looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I joined the SAS. "In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one imagined that a dog would be eavesdropping. "I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years. But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at Heathrow to do some undercover security work, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded several medals. I got married, had a few puppies, and now I've just retired." The man is amazed. He goes back into the house and asks the owner how much he wants for the dog. "Ten quid," the owner says. "£10!!? But this dog is absolutely amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheaply?" "Because he's a lying bastard. He's never been out of the garden."1 point
