Importing a RIF in current climate
emit and one other reacted to Pappa Large for a topic
Didn't order a RIF but bought parts and other related stuff for £180ish from Gunfire 30/1021 and used GLS instead of UPS. Yesterday Parcel Force let me know i owe £40 and will be delivered on 15/11/21. Apart from the charges it looks like delivery back to normal fingers crossed. I got a project on the go and might buy a cheap sniper and see how it goes with Border Farce. Shame about TG as i want the Fostec shotty which is released soon.2 points -
For question 1 - self contained air powered shells remain illegal, and existing Brococks remain only lawful to the owners who obtained certificates when the law was introduced, and have no legal method of passing them on Which is contrary to the availability of other systems such as 40mm shells etc Be very careful with where you get your advice and how you act on it. You could be in danger of taking a legal rifle due to obsolete calibre and loading it with an illegal self contained system (actually the opposite of what caused self contained air cartridges to become illegal - modifying to fire ‘real’ ammunition)2 points

G608-4 low fps
Chicken pie reacted to BigStew for a topic
are you chronoing with the suppressor on the gun? unless you have an extended inner barrel to the front of the suppressor the bb will be losing FPS travelling through the suppressor. chrono the gun with out the suppressor 1st. also 250 with 0.25 is equivalent to 280fps with 0.2 bbs not sure you have actually lost any fps at the point. please clarify how you chronoed your gun?1 point -
Hmm, self-contained gas cartridges are Section 5 (1)(ae) verboten under the ASBO Act 2003. I'm always happy to learn, so what's the workaround? Airsoft gun, therefore not a firearm for purposes of the Firearms Act, therefore ha-ha, can't touch me, Dredd? I'd want to be sure on this one, not internets-said sure.1 point

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
strykerles reacted to Khyber for a topic
Bought one too. Haven't had chance to try it yet as I haven't got a rif yet. One more game to get my ukara but I didn't want it to be out of stock by the time I had a rif. So just bought it Also just got some Mechanix Mpact gloves so my PPE is all complete now. Bolle Raider goggles (with prescription inserts) Onetigris lower mesh with ear protectors Mechanix Mpact gloves Viper tactical cap Fabric mesh neck scarf Really happy with all the PPE. Definitely the most important purchases initially in my eyes. Not cheaped out on it and it's all super comfy. Then accessories... Acetech Bifrost Feyachi RDS-36 red/green dot Feyachi RS-29 reflex ALL black for that stealth look. Just need that rif now... will update here when my wallet takes the biggest hit in the near future... hint. A TM gbbr is on my horizon. Cant wait!!1 point -

I see what you mean on that; it's like beating up an old man! Worthing's facilities aren't great, let's be totally honest with everyone, however when it comes to actually organising and playing airsoft games (which is why we're there), I have yet to go to a site that does it as well as Worthing. It's why we make jokes about heated toilets After all, the site has been around for almost 20 years (I started there 16 years ago back when it was Elite Action Games Worthing) and the guys who run it now I knew back then as players and marshalls, so they definitely know their stuff. Also, they've had the unfortunate fate of the site shrinking over time due to public footpaths and complaints of the general public.1 point -

Flip the fire selector until the mosfet enters the setup section then use the trigger to set desired setting within the category you are in. Then flip the fire selector again, just one and only to the other fire mode, not safe and the mosfet should change its led colour to the new category colour. Again its trigger to run through the settings/levels. Regards the fire mode. That is a little trickier as it is the setting you're in when the mosfet enters setup mode that gets changed. I found starting in semi and toggling from there meant semi was selected. Then starting from auto meant by the time I'd done the required flips to enter setup it was back on auto and it was the auto setting that was selected.1 point -

Can you put an AK Stick Battery in a buffer tube?
Iceni reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
That's good info, thankfully for taking the time to do that research... but I'm currently just running a simple collapsible stock with no capacity beyond the stock tube itself. So I'm very restricted in my choice, unless I spring for a replacement stock (so that's £50 for the PTS EPS most likely) I do have one 7.4v 1500 mAh 20c Bigfoot lipo for it already, which runs fine. (Hey, it seems we've sort of circled back to the OP's original question 🤣) I do have an A1 stock on my classic army M15. If the fitments are standard, I could swap that over... Are they? It would look a little clunky on my new gun though. But I also want to share the battery with my Ak47s which only has the top cover storage.. back to square one1 point -
It is not illegal to go back yard plinking. You do however, need to go around all your neighbours and explain what it is that they may hear or see and that its a piece of sports equipment that looks like a rifle. ALWAYS shoot towards YOUR PROPERTY so that any damage is yours to fix at your leisure. Your BB's must not have a path to or enter in to the public spaces outside your backyard space as it becomes a big legal issue if you were to hit someone or something and it got damaged ands you were seen, etc, then things get a bit legal. I wouldn't refer to it as target practice either, that implies something else, plinking is the proper term to use and I'd buy a few plinking toys to target practice with and a few catch boxes to catch your BB's in or you can make one easily, just pack it with old paper and bubble wrap and it be atleast 6 inches thick and the BB's won't go through the box, I use both a cardboard box and a couple of catch boxes for indoor practice. If you go indoors, wear eye pros because BB's can come back at you with some force. I'd also arm yourself with a copy of the relevant legislation as you never know, there may be that one or two neighbours that will disagree with you on the law and because they are closed minded and see everything as violence, will report you each time you are out, let them, that can be deemed as harassment to you for going about a hobby you are legally allowed to do on your own property in your back garden (the assumption that its all closed in) but note, if your garden is not enclosed by high fences, you won't be able to do any plinking until you put in higher fencing.1 point

Any help appreciated on trying to end the FPS/joule Chrono issues at sites.
Pappa Large reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
I'm quite serious about ditching pre-game chrono, or making it more of a service for those who want to use it. Catch folk in-game, during the course of the day. Test with what the player is using, then test again with heavy site BBs, and if there's a significant discrepancy, take it further. I'd love to see a marshal (who actually knows what they're doing) at each site doing nothing but test shots and chrono, all day long. Sadly, just finding a site with sufficient marshals who are more interested in marshalling than Facebooking all day long seems to be a rare treat.1 point -
New to Newcastle area.
DarthDraken reacted to Hudson for a topic
Hi there! I'm down the road a bit in Hartlepool. You've got several sites in the area: NSC near the airport. Woodland gaming on a Paintball site. No limits - indoor CQB in Gateshead NTAC - small woodland site near Pittington Dirty dog - probably the main site in the area, a container village with woodland and open ground. Located at Shildon District 23 - similar to no limits. Billingham by the train station. Adrenalin - another Paintball site, near Richmond. Stirling airsoft - themed airsoft that tends to run weekend events around once a month, set on Catterick army base.1 point -
Filed down the gearbox, fitted it ok. I have the high speed (which is the middle of the range). It is ridiculously fast even on standard gears and I should probably have gone for the standard. Well, it was fast, until the grub screw on the pinion unscrewed and started gouging the gearbox shell... Back to the drawing board, and also the shops to get green loctite0 points
