  1. Or buy a tile bluetooth tracker for £30 (or less 2nd hand), cover it in his leaves/raffia etc and covertly attach it to him (or his rifles) in the harbour area. Open the tile app on your phone and wa-la. Happy hunting intelligent airsoft. This games easy. If the smart option is not possible then work in sections of 8 ppl, once one of you has seen or been hit by a ghillie the remaining section Sprint (yes airsoft, I mean sprint) in zig zags in the general direction of the ghillie. In 5 seconds you'll all be well inside his MED for bolty so they'll be forced to use their pistol so you can calm the speed to a slower jog, still traversing. 1 pistol vs 7 full auto assault rifles. Countering airsoft snipers is a short sprint in the park if you can find the ppl to take the fight back to them.

  4. Look at his videos: most of his targets are lazy cunts who die and go back in the same exact spot, or see their teammate die and take their place, or pop their head out in the same place over and over again. Although the biggest mistake you all seem to be making, when dealing with a sniper, is standing/walking in open ground!!! Snipers have two main problems against other players: MED and rate of fire. They can't plink at you from 10 metres with their rifles if you catch them by surprise, they also can't hose you down through multiple layers of vegetation unless they have an AEG as a backup and the site isn't one of those shitty "sEmI AuTo OnlEeEe" ones. They have secondaries with a slightly higher ROF than a bolty but the concept still applies, can't win against a good burst from an AEG. So, next time, instead of jacking each other off in the middle of a grass field, try and move through dense vegetation/foliage.. You'll make a fair bit of noise, but the guy won't be able to shoot you until you literally step on him. At that point if he's engaging others he'll be an easy prey.

  6. Bush here. Move. It's very hard to hit a moving target at range. Use cover even if you don't see a threat. Communicate. If someone was hit then - after respawn - tell people about it. See someone get hit? Don't go and stand at the exact same spot. When you do know where the sniper is: tell others, then move quickly from cover to cover, not straight towards him and move within MED while laying down cover fire. It's not like in computer games where the sniper is far away with a nice clear view of the whole field. We are most likely in a position where we can sometimes spot a part of someone, we are laying in an awkward position, goggles fogging up because of the hot ghillie, or not seeing much because of the mesh goggles, struggling with the gun - it never works as we want - calculating wind, range, and always hitting that single blade of grass that throws off the BB. Well within the range of an average AEG too.

  7. PISS 😱, I was issued them & I'm pretty sure that at no point EVER was piss mentioned (I think that's just some kinky shit 🤣), but then unlike Airsoft we were wearing them almost 24/7, so decent thick woolly socks, changed regularly, soon had them like a pair of slippers. My feet are much like the OP's, smashed up, only 9 toes & a few ops, they won't win any beauty competitions lol, my super comfy boots of choice at the mo are belville tactical research, awesome, bit like an od boxing boot 👍

Yikes. I think I'm just going to stop ordering anything remotely RIF like from abroad. Yes you can potentially save 10% or so if you're fortunate enough it doesn't get pulled for inspection but I'd rather just have it quickly and with an easier avenue or resolution if something goes wrong.

  9. Last time I played anzio, back end of last year, chrono was there for players to go through just after site opened and they trust players to go through it, as they do regularly grab people going through to the safe zone post game and there was a roaming chrono too, for random testing. It was covered in the brief, regards to passing first thing in the morning then later failing in that you would be allowed to change or take the rif from play.

  10. 100%, or at least just do one as a rental. It's not really extra cost, it can save you from a costly mistake. Well, a valid defence, there are plenty available. Many private sellers don't check, and there are also several retails who accept bogus defences. I know that's not how it should be, but it's how it be. Bristol prison/courthouse don't list any, but it can vary and it's always worth asking your site before a purchase of anything unusual. The late lamented Depot had a blanket prohibition on Dan Wesson style shell loading revolvers, Mk23s with silencers/barrel extensions, and all grenade launchers/shells, due to repeated abuse of them. Anything full auto and capable of over 1.3J (and yes, you can buy a few examples from UK retailers) isn't an airsoft gun, it's (by default) a Section 5 prohibited firearm. That shouldn't be an issue for anything site legal though. Exactly. Second hand purchases are what you make when you know what you're doing. As a first purchase, it's a great way to end up with an unusable money pit. Especially in semi-auto CQB. Pre-cock might be one exception, but I'll cheerfully pit any gas pistol or shotgun against that.

  11. I'd leapt and bounded to the conclusion that not "proving" you'd passed chrono means that they have chronos available for those with the wit and inclination to use them, rather than them putting on the safety theatre performance of pretending that everybody has done so. If that's wrong and they don't have chronos available before play then I'll cheerfully reverse direction and shout "Boo, burn the witches!"

  12. Agreed, Nuprol to me just means the cheapest, nastiest part they could find, at a mark-up. It's either the scruffy looking pot-metal dial unit (which I wouldn't consider an upgrade), or the £17 plastic rotary unit that's a knock-off of the £9 ZCI unit. In either case, it's clearly misfeeding and double-feeding, the screeching noise is a bad sign (don't use it!) and the damage may already be done in terms of a stripped piston or gears, or mullered tappet plate. I'm really sorry, it gives me no pleasure to say this, but I fully expect the "professional" who has broken your gun to shrug it off as "Owner abuse mate, that's clearly had market stall BBs through it." I very much hope to be wrong about that, but I'd go in prepared to be calm but firm and patient. Bring along the BBs, mags and battery that you've been using and make it clear that what you paid for labour on top of those parts[*] was supposed to buy the expertise to avoid exactly this situation. Oh, and I'd get a record of it in writing as soon as possible in case it ends up in a spat. This is why I break my own toys rather than paying anyone else to do it. 13. Nope, GBB rifles are something I have no interest in. I think a few people on here have them but they don't get mentioned a lot in general chat. All of my AUGS are standard electric AEG types. One of the main reasons for not wanting a GBB rifle is the cost of the magazines. Typically an AEG magazine for a common gun is going to be pretty cheap possibly less than £5. And with that you can pick mid cap 100rnd, or high cap 400-600rnd capacities. A GBB mag on the other hand can be expensive. £50+ and may have a very low BB count 50rnds would be a large capacity. Say for instance you are playing for 5 hours and will use 1000bb's. That's 2 high capacity AEG mags you can stuff one in a pocket (the other is in the gun) and cost pretty much nothing. The GBB setup well your going to want 6 mags at least 6x50 is 300 rnds. So you will need to reload all mags 3 times, It's going to cost you 5x£50 - £250, and then you will need webbing or a carrier, 5 pouches and a dump bag. So add another £100-250 to that price. GBB are absolutely fantastic, but you have to be committed to the whole system.

  15. apart from the hop chamber doesn't seem like the worst combo. although even with good parts things can still get messed up in the assembly. however it might not be the assembly, misfeeding can equally be caused by mags/ammo (bad ammo can jam up and the mag spring might not be strong enough to overcome it, for midcaps at least) the other possibility is the hop setting, you can get some weird things with the hop either fully on or fully off, so you generally want to be testing with the hop set (turn it off then on a little if it's not already dialled in for the ammo)

  16. There's a reason the most expensive bit of kit I own outside of rifs are my pair of really nice Altberg tabbers boots. They've saved my ankles more times than could count at airsoft games, on hikes, at festivals and in snow. They're also the most comfortable footwear I've ever owned and being hand made with real leather and solid soles I wouldn't be surprised if they outlasted my legs.

  17. Do a few rental games and get your Ukara first. Have a look at what others are using, and talk to everyone. We all have very different opinions on what makes a good airsoft gun. Without Ukara you will be limited to 2 tone gun purchases, and even second hand the seller should be checking you have have a valid number. No gun is banned as far as I know, but all guns must meet the site power limit rules. It changes per site. Outdoors more often than not it's 350fps with a 0.2g bb. Indoors it can be a lot lower, but the rules are site specific, That's why it's a good idea to do a couple of rentals first. Also when you buy second hand you must be able to estimate the power the gun is shooting. If your site wants 320fps and you buy a second hand gun that shoots 350fps you won't be able to play until you spend more money getting it downgraded. A lot of retailers can offer a downgrade service if requested when you buy new, so you get the correct power level out of the box. It's also worth noting that airsoft guns have components that wear out. A second hand gun may have poor airseals or be close to component failure, You'll need a little experience to be able to judge that, It can almost be the cost of a second hand gun to have a gearbox rebuilt with new components and airseal/hop materials. So a cheap second hand gun may very well end up not been so cheap after all. On owning your own gun, If you get your Ukara then there are loads of guns between £100 and £150 that meet the demands of a new player. Going more expensive doesn't give you much more than what a basic gun can do. You might get better externals and a more refined gearbox that can shoot a little faster, but in the grand scheme of things there's very little gained in terms of gameplay by having something more expensive.

  20. Site Name: Tower Airsoft Contact details: 07534636289 Website Address: Tower Airsoft – UK's Newest Airsoft Games Site | Billericay in Essex Facebook Page: Tower Airsoft | Facebook Site Address: S&J Action Sports LTD, Heath Road, Billlericay, CM11 1HL Myself and @Albiscuit had actually popped along to Tower airsoft before on the first of the Tuesday evening mini games, but I decided to wait for a full game day before writing a review. Full game days are on Saturdays only at this moment in time. We attended 17/07/2021 Tower Airsoft was created from the ashes of another abandoned Delta Paintball site (See my Cobham review for another). The same people who run Airsoft Plantation decided to take it over and turn it into another site which is conveniently just around the corner from AP. Tower airsoft, whilst an ex Paintball site does not have the usual obvious "Game zones". There are distinct areas, but there are no obvious barriers between them. This is a small woodland site, no undulation, Lots of different types of cover such as man made earthworks, buildings, low, medium and high foliage depending on the area. Short to medium range engagement distance. Good: Playing Area: A varied area. A section that has a large 2 story fort and Church both separated and surrounded by ferns and various bushes. A cut down area of forest, a section of road separating a tall copse of trees. A small area next to the safe zone with two opposing double decker buses set 25 metres apart with oil barrels in-between them which ensures fast paced and desperate play. Our favourite area is the Village and Bridge sections. The village is fantastic BECAUSE it is nice and overgrown, which adds much more to the game then if it was cleared out. No water features, completely flat. Nothing is overly special, but what is there is of good quality. Turn around time: The mini game we went to we felt that turnaround time was a little slow, but the full game day had a much faster turnaround, which exhausted a few people because of how hot it was! We felt the full game day is much better value for money then the evening game. Marshalling: It's organised by AP so as usual it is incredibly well staffed with knowledgeable, approachable and fair marshals. Exactly the same experience that you get with AP. Safe Zone: It's a fairly large area, everyone had a seat and most had cover from the hot sun. The safe zone is entirely self contained with the food truck, free water, setup areas, shop, toilets and game brief area all in the safe zone. Toilets: Real toilets, inside a structure. Nuff said. Food: The same people who run the van at AP, so you know it's fairly decent stuff with a wide selection and very friendly people running it. A credit to AP and Tower. Clientele: Classic AP camaraderie. Though in a more intimate and smaller setting. There were some really good players out there on the day. It was hot so not a huge amount of interaction, but we certainly pushed each other on the blue side. Average: Value: Good value at £25 for the day though didn't come with any food included. For what we got, it was certainly reasonable! For the evening game it is £20 and honestly, not worth the money for less then 3 hours of play. Safety Brief: Short and sweet. Covered most things, though sadly no bang pyro is allowed on site and gun hits and switch to secondary were not mentioned until brought up after the brief. Game Modes: The first game mode didn't quite work for me as there was some confusion with the game boundaries (Use of the Church upper floor) and the choice of using unlimited lives in one section, but just two lives on another section. The rest of the games were much simpler and worked better, considering its a hot day and people aren't quite used to Tower's newly opened sections as of yet. Car Park/Entrance: The usual mud/gravel track, there is some prime car parking along the road near the entrance to the safe zone, however if you arrive later you will need to park further away from the safe zone. Numbers were somewhat low due to the weather, but I do wonder how the car park would handle much more in the way of cars. Hit taking: Good for almost the entire day. However there was one particular player that I had an altercation with. They refused to take their hits despite seeing bb's pinging off them but then shooting back. I took the hit, respawned and tried to hunt him down again. Hit him multiple times with a pistol from one side of the tree, he continued firing at someone else and ignoring being hit in the body. I kept firing at him to call it, he turned to me, shot me and then called hit. I refused to call the hit and he started shouting at me to take my hit and that it was a 50/50 situation. I explained that I shot him multiple times before he killed someone else and then me and refused to call it. He kept moaning and kept pointing at me to his mate during this time who promptly shot me and I took the hit. I went back to the safe zone for a few minutes to take myself out of the situation. It's a shame that one player decided they wanted to play juggernaut and spoil what was a good day (A little). Shop: Not a huge amount on offer, the basics and some equipment, better then nothing. Bad: Chrono: The usual AP rules apply. Honesty based chrono, available to use, but not enforced, checked or tagged. At the evening game I and some other players were checked near the end of the evening. On the full game day I didn't see anyone get chronoed. It's disappointing, but it is what it is. 350 AEGS, 450 DMRs, 500 Bolties. Conclusion: An interesting site for AP to take on, it's much smaller then plantation, but has some areas that AP just does not have in terms of a couple of larger buildings. It's a very different site. I recommend this for people who want the AP management experience, but with smaller numbers, smaller games and less walking. The opposing double decker bus game is a real hoot and we enjoyed playing it on both the night and day games. So overall, very good! AP staff running it heightens what is/was just an average paintball site to something better. It's not unique, but it doesn't necessarily have to be to have a good day. Al and myself had a great time and we will certainly be back and into a regular rotation. Bullpup Watch: SRS only. Almost everyone played with an M4... Best Guess Map:

  25. Screeching noise in full auto is PME caused by the jammed bbs. BBs essentially plug the barrel, air has nowhere to go and pushes back on the piston, which in turn can't complete its travel. Sector picks it up at s random place (teeth won't mesh together) so you get the screeching. It will work in semi because there is enough time between shots to let the air slowly slip past the BB/rubber feed lips/piston head o-ring and let the piston complete its cycle. I say it's the combination of hop rubber and hop unit. What happens is that the feed lips get crushed between the barrel and hop unit body, making them ever so slightly too tight. At least that's what happened with my old Ares HB when I put a maple leaf rubber in it (the unit didn't like it at all).

  26. This is a Flicking Bustard thread. Staying very still. Point taken that if you don't move then you'll be nailed down eventually, but I'd emphasise the other points that most airsofters are lemmings and will queue up to be shot in the same place in the same way, over and over again. And in the unlikely event that two or three of them do actually talk to each other and coordinate to find you, then you're tying up two or three players. Back when I used to watch sniper videos, I noticed that most of Spliffing Duster's video start with him already set up and the opposition coming to him (because he goes out and does that before the game starts), while Novritsch does a lot more of sprinting from a spawn to reach a good position, and pushing. I'm quite serious that the secret to spotting the former players is to play with the same degree of sportsmanship they do. I'm not advocating it, just pointing it out.

Yeah, not my thing but I prefer the stubby mid caps so I'm probably the last person to be advising on this. If you want high capacity on an mp5k, I'd advise using the high cap double mag (560 BBs, but hard to carry multiple) or just multiple high caps (200 BBs each, but you can easily carry multiple).

  30. First thing I will say is that it's not the ghillie suit that makes the sniper hard to deal with, it's the player's fieldcraft. If the ghillie sniper can't do their role pretty much as effectively without the ghillie, then they need to take it off and practice their camo and concealment until they can do their job and have players almost tripping over without using the ghillie (if more people did this, they'd find they'd be waaaaaay more effective with the ghillie. It's like training with weighted clothing in DBZ ). Am I a jerk for thinking so? Maybe, but I also won't fault these players for playing how they want; that's what the hobby is all about, after all. I think the most important thing to say is prey upon their weaknesses. What I've found observing most bush wookiees in a counter sniper role is that they either move way too much or way too little. If they move too much, you see them and then it's just a case of suppressing them and advancing on their position to flush them out. If they move too little, you'll quickly be able to work out where they are and do the same, maybe with the help of smoke grenades or tag rounds. Also, if they're using a spring rifle, there's still usually a decent amount of noise unless they've really tuned it super well (which is rare), and also their bolt pull will be long, so look for that movement too. I would say to use their MED and slow ROF against them by moving and engaging their position with suppressive fire, but I've seen a lot of experienced bush wookiees moving away from bolties and toward 1J HPA setups as they still get the silence, but they get rid of the weaknesses of the bolt action platform. Personally, once I've cleared my debts, I'm shoving a Polarstar F2 into one of my m14s and relegating the VSR to a backup gun. As a bush wookiee myself, I'll say the following for the majority of bush wookiees you'll be up against, in addition to the movement point above (most have already been said, but I figured I'd post up my views anyway): Don't go to where your mate just got hit. The number of times I get multiple people because I hit someone and their friend either moves over to try and medic them immediately, or they move to take the cover their friend previously was. If they got hit behind that cover, it means someone has a line on it. Move. Move. MOVE! Seriously, it's hard to hit shots on running targets and I'll usually just follow the target until they either move out of my line of sight, or they stop. This is harder if there are other players with AEGs around as they'll full auto your path and hit you, but if the sniper is being silly and being the hollywood "lone wolf" then if you keep moving you just won't get hit. BBs are about as consistent as a WE pistol in winter and the shot will go wide if there's a breeze or a leaf in the way, and trying to lead shots is difficult even in the best conditions (not impossible, but it makes the shot a lot harder). Play the objective. Usually, snipers won't be holding the objective directly if it's like a base defense or something, because as a sniper you want to be where the enemy won't think you are. If there is a sniper in the base, then you know where they are and you just suppress them until you get close enough to hit them, which these days isn't much since hop ups are so good now that AEGs are shooting closer and closer to bolties. If the sniper isn't in the base and he hits you, don't go back to where you were attacking that time and instead push the objective from the other side. If the sniper is covering an objective like a flip can, think about where you got hit from and move to flank them instead. It's super hard to shoot someone behind you covertly when you're lying prone with a boltie, so you either have to let the flanking players pass (and probably take out a lot of your team) or you try and shoot them all super fast, which if there's more than one person you probably won't have much success. If you know where the sniper is and they're not smart enough to have relocated, move around the position or fire and move to keep them suppressed as you close the gap. Most hides are awful when it comes to line of sight, because you need a bunch of stuff in the way for concealment. Usually, the sniper will only have one line that they're watching, so approach from their blind spot, or fire and move (quickly) to flush them out. It's hard to repel an attacking fire team with a boltie if they know where you are and are suppressing your position. However, there are a few things that ghillie snipers will do to counter this. Some will carry a small AEG around with them, some will strike the right balance between moving too much or too little, some will run 1J HPA platforms for both silence and no MED. However, nobody is invincible without cheating. When dealing with a sniper, think about their limitations and the limitations of their current position and exploit what weaknesses you can.

  35. Counter Sniping is simple, either use the unlimited spawns to your advantage and keep going back until you get him, maybe take a few team mates to flush him out. Once you have been hit half a dozen times one of you must know roughly where he is. or ignore that area completely and play in a different part of the site

To combat Licking Custard specifically you should go out onto the field before the game actually starts, find a likely bush that's of bounds, and spot him when he hides himself in it.

    Hello from Toronto

Hello & welcome! Have a chat with customs and tell them what you’re doing and I’m sure they’ll set you straight on what you need to do. UKARA is a defence for having a reason to buy a RIF and is to protect retailers rather than you. Many shops will just take proof you’re going Airsofting as a defence so it’s certainly not something you have to wait for before buying stuff. But hopefully you can import your kit anyway. Unless of course you want an excuse to buy shiny new toys, in which case there’s no chance of importing your kit and you must buy new stuff when you get here 😉

I could run a lonnnng M4 at 1.1J, alongside a Mk23 pistol and barrel extended/silencer running at over 1.5J, and how are they supposed to know which one needs to respect a MED and ROF limit? 48. Mmm, I never used to be bothered about MEDs until I started running a BASR and DMR (not at the same time, pedants). Now all I see is players disregarding MED and ROF, and it never being picked up on by marshals, even when you point it out. It's a very slippery slope - once you see someone else taking the piss with them, there's always a temptation to get a few metres closer, or twitch your finger a bit quicker.

  49. you've not met the kind of players i've seen, our record so far is failing to call a broadside from a 40-mike...... couple of months back running the dragonuv there was a chap in that position, called me over to take a shot (because of course big gun with a scope=more range but that's by the by and tbf i was yeeting .48's), my first shot went about a foot over the guys head, close enough for him to flinch but definately not a hit, meanwhile all i'm hearing is "you hit him you hit him". likewise yesterday i was being credited with a double kill despite being 99% certain the first guy the bb passed didn't make contact (ironically he was the guy i was aiming at, the second bloke walked out at the wrong time) unless you not only see the bb land, but you know it's close enough to impact with authority and hasn't bounced off a mag pouch or something where they might legitimately have not felt/heard it, then you gotta give them the benefit of the doubt.

  50. We need a 2 teir respawn, all the youngsters can run back to the respawn ( often up a bloody hill at our local site ) and the 'mature' respawn where you bimble back 50 paces, sit on a stump and have a cuppa , and maybe a nice biscuit, before heading back into the fray
