  1. Today I learned that people can take two 0.3s to the face from a sniper rifle, bleed, and shrug them off like nothing happened And that trying to carry 2 guns and a pistol is a cunt.

  2. Yep, can certainly see how it gets expensive - I need this one for outdoors, this one for CQB, this one for that loadout ……… 😁

  4. that it does, although almost exclusively linked to issues in re-assembly rather than the power change in and of itself. being horrifically underpowered is unfortunately rather common, if it's a bit spicy and needs a downgrade retailers have a nasty habit of just whacking in the flimsiest spring they can find and calling it a day. needless to say this can cause problems (especially pme related problems) on some guns. the only shop i've seen do it properly is gunfire- they actually cut the spring and do a pretty damn good job of getting within, but not stupidly under, the limit.

  7. I'm guessing it's that G&G 308 MBR AEG. If so, I agree, you're not going to get that sort of energy drop just from the barrel, and neither would I suggest trying to make the air seal worse. If you want to turn it into site (and actually legally) legal AEG, I'd be throwing an M100 spring in and taking it from there.

  8. What platform ? AEG or gas ? if it's an aeg you are better changing the spring . You will also need to factor in what cylinder you have , ported or non ported . If it's gas lengthening the barrel will likly increase fps rather than reduce it.

  9. Good, that's the letter of the law - selling "for the purpose of". A future booking says more about your intentions than past behaviour. Their risk, their choice, there's nothing dodgy going on. Enjoy. Today I learned that even when you're at a site that chronos in Joules (huzzah), and even when you personally set the chrono to your BB weight, and even when you point out the Joules figure on it to a marshal, he might still say "Hang on a second..." and look up the FPS number versus BB mass on his phone. I mean, I don't mind the thoroughness, but... it's right there on the chrono.

  10. Now for me this is the very truth of the hobby I try to avoid , if I let this truth out of its box I’m never gonna buy a gun I like the look off ever again id just run the simplest M4 with a box mag and that’ll be it ! When I choose a new gun(immaterial if it’s ‘new’ or 2/3/4th hand or what ever) I have to like the look of it first , if I need to ‘tweak’ it a bit for optimum performance ? That’s not a problem I will do something with it if I have too . I’ve always been ‘form over function’ with all my guns .

  11. Truth is they all do the same thing, all roughly to the same standard. Once you realise that you save money. I am at the stage now where I only buy GBBRs and only ones that are sufficiently niche. Like the upcoming FAL for instance

This is a good barrel for the money https://www.socomtactical.net/prometheus-370mm-m4a1-mws-6-03mm-barrel/ PS you are not getting any more range or accuracy from a barrel once you exceed 300mm, only FPS increase

Just make sure to offer to split fuel costs, I frequently give lifts to people and nothing irritates more than having to ask for fuel money.

  16. Thats not really a though is it. You dont ever settle on 'thats my next purchase' just an endless cycle of 'i'm really going to buy this, but i still really like the look of.....' Or at least thats the way i found it. I have 'almost' settled on next assault style toy and down to *hem* 3 shotguns.....

  17. I've had the same, when talking face to face they were happy to sell without ukara as long as they were satisfied that I was actually using it for airsoft

  20. Hi I would love to take you up on your offer it would be a great again like I said in the post I will pay for your game day if that's cool with you too. I have a bit of gear you can borrow if you lack some face protection too.

    THE TM MWS thread

I have Crazy Jets in two of my longer barrel builds and have found them to be pretty good, but If you use them you really need to pair them with a maple leaf rubber and omega hop nub to get the best out of them, and the hop rubber needs a millimetre taken off the tab with a razor blade so it seats in the hop unit properly. If you use the brass nub and modify tan rubber which is well regarded in these parts then the Crazy Jet will be mediocre at best and there are several barrels that feature in these pages that are a better bet.

  23. And this is a great video to follow for the swap out... https://youtu.be/FQhVwcOeQ6A ... just take it steady and watch out for all of the springs trying their best to escape from you.

    Lifts to Games

I'm actually in Hitchin so if/when I do go to a local game in future I might be able to help - unfortunately I'm only likely to be doing one a month initially (hopefully!), and that'll be at Red Alert in Newbury due to UKARA-ing there with some mates.

  25. Today I learned the retailers don’t seem to be particularly bothered about UKARA, seemed to be that just showing that I’ve been/booked to go Airsofting is fine for them. Caught me a bit off-guard as I hadn’t planned to buy anything so was only going for a look as I had a spare 20 mins. Did have a good chat with the guy running the place though and now have more of an idea regarding what to buy when I’m getting my first rifle.

  26. Most games you can get a way with 4 mags (a large capacity speed loader helps). At CQB sites there are times when I have maybe shot 20rds on a game.

  27. I love the hicap heroes who burn through thousands of BBs per game. Their shooting provides a wonderful soundscreen for me to move about. Nobody's going to notice the light rustle of foliage or the gentle crunch of a slow footstep when John Rambo over yonder is spamming his AEG at everything.

  28. Fortunately it's a small minority of folk who think a team name, rank and callsign that look like they're from a bargain basement CoD, makes them the SF of airsoft. Usually they stop when they finish going through puberty

  29. Probably going to sweat to death during my next game but eh, it's a bit of fun right?
