As laughing boy alluded to yes barrel length doesn’t make a lot of difference to the range you’ll achieve(obviously if you’ve got an M4 with a barrel the length of a pistol even the cheapest ‘normal’ M4 will out range you !) the really crucial thing is the hop set up in it . I’ve got a couple of Jing Gong/Golden Eagle(same company)guns at the moment and have had a good few in the past and they are good for the money , my son has a JG Sig 552 and we’ve not touched tHopefully and it’s still got cracking range on it and I’ve recently changed the hop unit bucking and nub in a GE M16A2 as I thought the range/accuracy was a bit ‘meh’ and as it’s now starting to bed in the range is just creeping on out further and further . Been running it in my back garden which is just under 100ft and I’m now consistently hitting a red brick that’s end on in the centre of a bock wall at the top of the garden with aimed shots .

Finally got to try this out at my local field... With the hop actually set, I was outputting 245fps/0.4. A huge reduction from its overall happyness testing in my garage with 0.2. Stripped it down, stuck an m150 in there and with the current hop settings I’m now getting about 305-310 with 0.4’s (eqv 450/0.2). It’s a hell of a spring and getting the shell together was a palava! Ive treated myself to some Geoff’s 0.43’s to see if the power and the mass can give me a bit of an advantage.

Some custom backpacks to get all my kit to and from, as well as during larger milsim ops as a medic. Slim son of a gun is for the medical stuff and the fatty is for everything else. Clip onto each other to make one unit when dont need just one or the other. Real neat.

Had a great day for my second time out today. Got shot in the head a lot so grateful for the helmet. Also glad I was wearing a helmet when the guy behind me tried to light up his mate in front but didn't understand the difference between sightline and bore-line. Happy be able to laugh off a burst of full auto to the back of the head at 2 metres. Lessons learned:- 1. Get a BFG that works. Missed a perfect double kill when the bargain basement one didn't go off.😒 2. Different sites work in different ways. At my last skirmish we went out all morning for 3 consecutive games so this time I was carrying the kitchen sink and after an hour we were back in the safe zone.🙄 3. Learn the locations of all the key places so that when they rattle off a list of names in the briefing you know what the **** they are talking about. 4. If you don't keep moving a sniper will shoot you. Good day, friendly, helpful, well organised, well marshalled. I'll definitely be going back.

I've owned my VSR10 for almost 8 years now, broke the stock awhile ago, or rather i had it sitting up high and a friend knocked it off, breaking the stock in a couple of places, needless to say it was gone and beyond a tasteful repair. So i knocked up an alloy stock, thought i'd post some progress pics for my first thread. Everything is mocked up lots to do still, just need to file around the mag area so the mags slide in just right. Have to say alloy feels really nice and has an awesome weight to it. Dummy magazine for looks, but will have one of my mags sitting on top of it so will still work, but more for display than anything. The only thing left standard would be the rear cylinder end cap and the hop chamber block and hop chamber, everything else is mostly all Laylax upgrades. Shoots on a dime, i mean when you have a target you will whittle it down to the size of a small coin and then some till it's pretty much gone. Grip needs to be tan, stock will be matt black with cut outs, the cut outs will have digital green camo inserts. Bloody time consuming making a stock, but well worth it especially when it finally starts to take shape. EDIT-Extended the stock by 40mm, and wow fits like a glove, over all its around 1150mm long now.

Anyway, with that aside. Barrel length doesn't do a huge amount for you, though it's wise to have some degree of volume matching (which I'll assume won't be the case from the factory) if it's 'peak performance' you're ultimately shooting for. As with any of the cheaper brands (and more expensive ones these days unfortunately) the biggest gamble you're taking is with QC. Generally speaking that's more of a roll of the dice with your more budget brands, but it's not to say the more 'premium brands' are immune to it by any stretch. The reason this is generally more significant is it can render the prior experience of folks that have used/use this RIF somewhat moot. The advice ultimately being the same it is everytime something along these lines comes up, if you just want a new RIF for whatever reason then go for it. If the actual thing you want is purely just a bump in performance, that cash would be wiser spent on bumping up your current RIF. Figure out which of those two statements is a better fit and pick your poison as appropriate.

I don't think there would be extra stress involved as the pressure of the gas would be constant. A longer barrel simply allows a larger volume of gas a longer time to accelerate the BB, before the rocket valve closes and the bolt cycles. Slightly more gas per shot, higher BB speed but no change in the pressure of the system.

@Wild Weasel you can run a completely standard MWS with a 6.03 barrel and that will get you around 330 on 0.2s

Sounds like a good idea, and yes, it's easy to clock up the cost! I had the Viper VX and it was fine for a couple of games, then I noticed it wearing in places. No way I wanted to trust a £600 gun to a £12 sling. I got a the BFG VCAS from UK Tactical and it's absolutely awesome.

friend of mine put a wireless earbud in first before putting on his headset and streamed via bluetooth from his phone he did say it got a bit uncomfortable after a while though

Can I recommend Laser Eye surgery... I've been a glasses wear all my life and know the pain and issues it causes for sport/activites/motorbikes etc.. Since I had mine done years ago, it was the best decision I ever took...life was so different afterwards. A worthy investment. Oh my mate got all BFG's banned at our local site.. He ran at a barricade with his TRMR Magflash, hoping to give the people on the other side the good news....he tripped over a log, went down...chinned himself in the face with his ARP and set off the TRMR in his hand, which at this point was next to his face. His gloves melted through, burning his hand and he took a 2" gash out of his chin, blood everywhere.....burnt the hairs of his beard on one side of his face.. He was pretty messed up. When @ Hospital getting his chin glued and hand seen too, he told the nurses he tripped on his grenade. Plod showed up soon after!! After questioning him..they just told him to throw the grenade next time..lol HSE were then informed by the Plod (I assume) and they visited the site owner....and now all PYRO other than disposables are Banned. He always gets shit for this when we are there...lol

Full auto blast to the face at 10ft if that ? Was wearing mesh mask and glasses so no facial tissue injuries BUT unfortunately for me as it was late January and colder than the mother in law’s heart the ambient temp was below zero which affected my prescription inserts and made them ever so slightly brittle I discovered later . So because this twat hosed me at such a short distance the impact of the BBs from his HPA’ed gun(thank you for proving the assumption of HPA players ?)running at a gazillion rps caused the Lense of my glasses to flex which transferred the energy from the impacts to the insert making one of them shatter and propelled all the shards of plastic in to my eye ! I was incredibly lucky not to cause any serious damage as I stopped my self from rubbing my eye as you’d automatically do . Went to local hospital , couple of hrs carefully getting all The bits out of my eye and thank f**k no permanent injures suffered .

I really got hosed from about 30ft/10 new fangled stupid meters straight to the face.Not malicious just wrong place wrong time.My face was a mess and upon further investigation one bb had set up home deep in my bottom lip. Couldn't moan cause it was my choice not to wear face pro.☹ Wife made me sleep in spare room so I didn't bleed on pillows! Lol Regards

@Tackle, first off you lot (heavily established members of this forum) can be intimidating. There I said it, i'm not the most outgoing person, sure, i'd be the third to admit that 😉, what a number of new users (maybe) is finding their voice amongst you sages (grouches). Indeed, a number times i've read half a thread, formed my thoughts on it only to read those same thoughts on the next comment...it can be frustrating to be last inthe room. I know that a core of us (you) users are sure to welcome everyone that posts in the 'new player' board and that is to be applauded.
