Latest update on the TM MTR16 GBB. - Got rid of the suppressor - Changed the pistol grip to a Magpul K2 (thank you for the suggestion @TheFull9) - Finally got some black optics today - Added Pmag covers as I heard the actual Pmags for the MWS system are ass Don't think I will be doing much more to it! Please excuse the moody lighting - been very rainy recently.2 points

tbf marui users aren't the only ones who can deck a gun in shiny and expect it to work better. it's just that the tm recoil platform seems to attract enough of that type of player to make a stereotype. i don't mind it, especially when it makes their guns shoot worse, makes my life much easier2 points -

Personally, I couldn't care less how you spend your money. If you want to be decked out in gucci RS kit and happy to drop a grand or two 'upgrading' your tupperware death cannon - kudos. I've got a decent job and could head down that path if I wanted to, but it's just not for me - my £150 guns get the job done just fine. I'd rather spend the money on hookers and cocaine. I do find it funny (and this is not aimed at you) that there are a number of people with 'all the gear but no idea'. Happy to flex the credit card on 'upgrades', but making the square root of fuck all difference when it comes to in-game performance, indeed more often than not making things worse. Don't worry, my jokes used to be aimed at PTW users back in the day, when Systemas were de rigueur and cost far more than a TM. The 'bestest gun evar' a guy at a skirmish site tried to convince me once. Of course he had to send it off to Tackleberry and spent another £500 on 'upgrades' just to make the thing work properly.2 points -

I don't see why people have a problem (not suggesting you have) with others spending their hard earned cash on their chosen hobby. Whether that's fitting lots of accessories onto a rifle or wearing crye, and everything that goes with it... It seems totally fine to shame/mock others for spending what certain people regard is 'too much money' However if I or any of the other 'crye,tm,ngrs, mws' users started ripping into somebody for their shitty budget aeg and viper gear, I'd be an arrogant bastard! It works both ways as far as I'm concerned. I couldn't care less how somebody enjoys their hobby. Whether its in a pair of jeans and a hoody with a cyma or fully decked out in crye and a das 416... Providing you take your hits and aren't a dick you're fine by me.2 points -

No no, I actually meant TM NGRS/MWS users. Take from that what you will. It was a slightly tongue-in-cheek joke ribbing those who have a penchant for buying expensive TM guns and spending lots more money on upgrades. No malice or jealously - I just find it funny. Airsoft, after all, is just LARPing with toy guns. But no matter how much you spend, it's still only a toy.2 points -

I will say that apart from putting stuff on the outside of my rifles, I wouldn't have a clue about doing anything internal and tbh, I have no 'want' to learn. I will always take my stuff to CAMO or Eagle6 to get fixed/upgraded. I will say if I ever did sell something that needed work, my thought process would be it would cost me more to get fixed which I wouldn't get back in the sale so would rather knock off an amount to get a quicker sale. Having said all that, I havent ever sold anything that isnt 100% working purely because I cant be dealing with potential after sale headaches2 points -

Some more crafting prep work ahead of the change in season, waiting on some different dyes to arrive before finishing up but I’m satisfied with the initial results! It’s intentionally dyed poorly, the ‘patchy’ look is exactly what I was shooting for.1 point

Ah I totally agree with you there. I'm under no illusion that my Crye G3's offer me any better concealment than a set of surplus mtp! It all comes down to what we all personally want to get out of our hobby I guess. Agree with you also bud. Coming back to the whole hindsight thing my TM MK18 NGRS had all of its guts ripped out and replaced with the prommy back catalogue. Don't get me wrong it performed exceptionally, but was it worth it? And was the step up in performance that much higher than stock? No I personally don't think so, and I wouldn't do it again as I'm now a GBBR snob... However its the people that get their guns 'fully upgraded' without even using them stock that are the real mugs! Sorry for derailing this thread mods, I'll shut up now... 😊1 point

My Apoc Build
PopRocket123 reacted to remus for a topic
Slow and steady... most of Tommy paint job done. Not sure if stock will work but will focus on the rest of its build and assembly then unifying the wear. Goggles painted and wear applied to look like aged brass. Hat wear started. Much to do to it. Lower face started. Alot to go on it but first attempt to make from scratch. Old material soaked in woodglue and stretched over a chepo plastic one. Once set pealed off. Alot to add to get it looking more apoc but is on the way. My old trenchcoat doesn't fit(damm you lockdown) so I need to either fix it or find another... charity shops beware...1 point -
That's fair enough, although there's plenty of 'wallys' playing airsoft regardless how much they've spent on their kit! 😂 Hindsight is wonderful thing, but I'm sure we've all been there and spent ex amount on something thinking that you've now managed to reinvent the wheel with your new 'upgrade' I've been playing long enough to know that an 'upgrade' isn't necessarily better than the stock part it replaces! Let people make these mistakes and hopefully they'll learn from it, even if they didn't have the common sense to research a little information on this forum! (People just want to be spoon fed these days and expect an immediate answer via Facebook) - but thats a rant for another time...1 point

Whenever I’ve had leaks form in gas mags my default first step is to empty them of any existing gas and put some Abbey maintenance gas (any heavily lubricated should work, that’s just the specific brand I’ve used) in them and just left it to work it’s magic. Certainly not guaranteed to work, it largely depends on how severe the leak is but I’ve had a 100% success rate with it so far. Given you’ve already taken the mag apart it’s likely too far gone to try on this specific mag, but food for thought next time you get a leak.1 point

'TM users' You mean fellow airsofters that just use a different platform than yourself?1 point -
You don't actually need a new hop rubber or whatnot, unless you got a lemon. It can shoot 70m nicely with the factory ones. The nozzle does stay in the rubber until it hits the thing that holds the springs, that's how it is supposed to work. It needs to stay in the barrel and on the mag until the bolt (or whatever that's cycling) is back enough. Then the spring pulls it back, once out of the barrel, so it can load the next BB.1 point

3 more extended Glock magazines by Raven from Classifieds to accompany my recently purchased AAP-01 I've got mine from bespokeairsoft (had it couple days earlier than Patrolbase) and it's also in French. Considering these show up in extremely limited numbers it wouldn't be surprising that they snatched them from French distribution? Also I didn't get this recently but after many months it's finally ready and will come next week. I've ordered this paint job because I didn't have UKARA at a time and Chris from GearTech Customs kindly agreed for me to get Striker through him with paint job. I long since have UKARA and many more RIFs but still wanted this paint job to come to fruition, seeing as "Knee Capper" deserves a meme paint job for a meme gun it is. I understand it may not be up to everyone's tastes and milsim guys are gonna get heart attack seeing this but I'm gonna post it anyway - I will be kind enough to put it into spoiler though Any weebs? I present you Toradora! themed Meme Baby Striker: Also got 2x short Striker mags delivered the other day for it.1 point

Yeah externally I think AG is a good company but inside no I wouldn't trust it because the zet system has been out for 2-3 years now and they still haven't fixed their product and if 5 out of 10 work that still doesn't justify the price of $130/£100 for a failed unit. If other company's have made better bolts/nozzles like Guns Modify $86/£66, UAC $82/£62 and G&P $160/£124 or mixNmatch then why bother with giving money to them personally I would ask all stores to not sell them till 9 of 10 work for longer than a few thousand rounds but thats just me. Go get a Guns Modify or G&P unit I personally went with the G&P because in Hongkong they have a 2.0J limit so their products are made for higher pressure not making it to Japan's 1.0J standard and saying its green gas compatible. Because I like to believe but not certain that they stress test the products at higher rates before selling them.1 point -

Finally after a month of waiting this gorgeous thing showed up... Northeast Sten MkV GBB. Absolutely beautiful replica, and packs a serious kick. Breaks down almost exactly like the real steel, and operates very similarly. The bolt will even fly out the back if you leave the stock off and fire it, so don't do that. I also recorded a little bit of slow motion-footage to show off the action... I will say one thing though, my second mag seal has already gone, but such are the perils of limited run GBB replicas... EDIT: I've since fixed this issue, the inner gas chamber just needed reseating.1 point
