TMC's copy of the Crye AVS. Im usually not a fan of anything TMC make but seeing as they have recently started using genuine Multicam material I thought id give it a shot and for £77 shipped from ShooterCB, Im very impressed. Much more solidly put together than any of their older stuff. Only thing im unsure of is if it will accept real Crye Zip On panels and dissapointed it didnt come with the quick release cables, although I never use it anyway (It is one way of attaching the multiple cummerbunds though) Comes with the Front M4 Flap 3 Band skeletel Cummberbund 1 Band Cummerbund Ive added myself Crye Shoulder pads TS Crye JPC Mbitr pouches Mayflower assault backpanel Internal padding from my CPC5 points -

I agree. Don't draw attention to Airsoft. I very much doubt any re-opening of a discussion on Airsoft with policy makers would lead to an improvement for us - quite the opposite.5 points

^ well like many women, clearly putting all your time/energy towards her idea of the future is the only non-sad (happy i guess) thing to do or you might be a total dork in which case be grateful you got a woman hehe3 points -
My other half hates guns & violence in anyway so although she isnt really happy about what Airsoft portrays. she is happy that I am happy. Airsoft is a father/son day for me & my boy so she is happy we have something together. I just always have to keep the rifs well hidden & only get them out every so often.....Which actually makes it easier for me to hide new kit as she is unfamiliar with my loadout3 points

My wife said recently "With all my friends they seem to be worried their husband is going to come home drunk, in the arms of some other woman or out with the lads moaning about their wives. At least with you I know you are so sad that you will just be off playing armies or doing some other sad hobby - it's quite comforting" I think that means she's generally supportive3 points -
Really fancied some Hexmags, so grabbed some other little bits while I was ordering from WGC. Lots of small pistol parts, I've had quite a few handguns 'in the shop' as it were and needing attention for ages, always tricky to get the little springs and screws etc I wanted to finish the builds. 4 x Dytac Hexmag midcaps Hexmag base plate/followers pack PTS Comp Ready Fighter Kimber 1911 mag bases Guarder steel 1911 grip screws, black and chrome First Factory extended PTS ACR handguard pin Modify VSR/Pistol bucking 3 x Stark G17 trigger springs Mechanix Originals and 0.5mm Originals AR-15 'TekMat' MSM patch2 points

Don't have enough camo to get the playing-soldiers line off mine, instead she assumes this is the first step in me trying to become batman. Just need a billion dollar trust fund and some mountain-top ninjitsu training then i'm sorted She don't like the marks it leaves, or when i've lazily left a gun out in pieces, but otherwise fine with it unless i opt to do it instead of something she wants to do on a specific day2 points -

I'm in my 40s now, and the Mrs thinks it's a bit sad to be playing soldiers at my age. But I was doing tournament paintball when we met 20 odd years ago, so it's nothing new Similar to some of the comments above - it's not like I play golf all weekend or spend every weekend traveling to football matches. So it doesn't take up too much of my time for the odd few games a year I manage these days. I earn my money, so she doesn't mind what I spend it on once the bills and mortgage are covered. Luckily she can't tell the difference between guns, so as long as she never sees more than 2 out at the same time, she doesn't know how big my collection is Although she often makes comments about my dedicated camo cupboard. I keep telling her you need a different set for every occasion ;-)2 points -

After coming back from doing a stint in Kurdistan (Syria/Iraq) with the YPG... My missus is glad that I'm playing airsoft rather than being back where I was less than 2 months ago. She didn't like hearing about what I had done etc out there, but now she actually enjoys my tales of taking objectives in the woods, being "shot" in the face, "killing" youngsters on the field! I'm adamant that she'll come play soon.. I keep bringing the game briefs home and leaving them on the side (intentionally)... and I've caught her the past couple of weekends reading them and asking how the game played out! Slowly started to introduce more war movies, and action films into our "movie date night", and she's even tried on my plate carrier/rigs, even got out in the garden shooting a load (hahaha...) into empty beer cans. To sum it up, I don't think she minds... She's got her nail polish, hair products, and always has her "girlfriends" over, so it gives me an excuse to get out!2 points -

Your KAC triple tap brake is off, the centre most cut of those grooves that run in line with the axis of the bore should be at 12 o/clock ideally. If you're not bothered then hey no matter, just FYI. Not many AR-10s around so I always like to see them, the rifle itself looks good. Any reason for only the front iron sight out of interest?1 point -

I think the EPMs are super ugly - the Hex ones look pretty cool, but that's probably because they have a real steel counterpart. The EPM just looks like an E-Mag or P-Mag ripoff (which I suppose it kind of is really); I'm not a huge fan of the big base plate or the tacky fake bullet window. I know you can remove the baseplate and put a ranger one on there, and that the window shows when the mag is full but still.1 point -
Yeah will do but you'll have to mod the Pmags. There's a thread on the forum on how to do it. My Pmags were shocking in my TR4 SMP but now they feed perfectly1 point
-
i dont know for certain, but my PTS EPMs dont feed properly in my TR15, it starts off okay but after an hour or so it degrades until it only feeds every third BB. its amazingly consistent in that it gives two dry fires and then one normal shot... very strange indeed1 point

happy to hear it, its always good fun after tinkering and fixing a magazine thats been pissing you off for the last couple of skirmishes. If only gearboxes were as easy as GBB parts1 point

Given how many mags I have (I tend to use my PTS TMAGs), the fact I often use TM recoil guns or my GBBRs and the rarity of actually getting to games, I'll be honest it could take literally 2-3 years before I even manage to use them enough times to give much of an opinion. In the event I do decide I fancy using them in an AEG at a game in the near future then I'll certainly post up about them on my FB/Insta to comment on how they do. Right now I can say they feel well built and solid, one has already passed a drop test on to rough stone. Fitment in the one gun I've tried was rather loose and I could actually pull the mag out without pressing the release button, but that was an Avalon receiver and nobody else runs those. I'll try them in a G&G and G&P at some point. IMHO, for reliability and durability the EPMs are the right choice, PTS mags are almost excessively well built. The Hexmags are not your cheap chinese midcaps by any means, they're surprisingly heavy, nice matte finish and well moulded overall. I think they look cooler than the EPM too, but for skirmishing I'd predict the PTS option will hold up longer. I wouldn't feel as confident doing the same torture test on a Hex as I conducted on an EPM (smashed the hell out of it, ran it over and I still use it every game). Be interested to hear more about your experience of moving over there mate, especially getting in to the tactical industry. Once I get out of the mob one of my potential plans is to try and work in either the weapons or gear industry state side. One a side note out of curiosity, did you not get any of your airsoft stuff surface shipped over there?1 point

Not sure why you would need to raise over the sight. If your using a zoomed optic you wont see it and if its a 1x dot sight you wont notice it either with both eyes open as the brain forms the image in your head. Thats why you can still use dot sights/holo sights even with the cover closed aka Occluded Eye Aiming "Occluded eye aiming takes advantage of our natural binocular vision, and our brain’s ability to merge information from both eyes into what we perceive as a single image. In the case of occluded eye aiming we merge the image of the scope’s reticle onto the image of the target" http://www.luckygunner.com/lounge/occluded-eye-aiming/ http://www.aimpoint.com/us/handling/improve-your-shooting/1 point

You're doing right exploring this with the authorities themselves... As above, I think we should be very very careful assuming in any way that forum logic will apply to the police or legal systems... I advise you get something in writing from the police, courts or probation services (have you contacted the National Offender Management Service) confirming it is ok, otherwise tell your friend not to have possession of one unless it is at most, a rental from a legit site within the boundary of said site. Hope you get what you need.1 point

I asked specsavers for contacts, they said I couldn't have them. They lied, they just did not stock the brand required for my condition. As I found out when I went to their competitor in our local town and never set foot there again. Never let someone tell you you can have something without a 2nd opinion.1 point -
Most hobbies are kind of sad or pointless depending on your viewpoint. I dont think the majority of wives and girlfriends really understand the attraction or point of airsoft, let alone players obsessions with dressing up. My wife thinks that girls are forced to grow up by having babies and life in general where as most boys never grow up and dont really have to. For this reason, she accepts that I like to play war, collect toy guns and dress like a soldier. She is pragmatic in that it helps to keep me fit, outdoors and keeps me out of more serious trouble like drinking, gambling and chasing other women. I dont play every week so it doesnt consume huge amounts of family time which is often the killer as younger players start families.1 point
