  1. Yep, always been the way. Problem is in this budget range you don't get as much consistency in the manufacturing or QC/QA checks. "The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic." The turnover of airsoft players is too regular for it to become common knowledge that anyone's individual experience of a given brand is, not to be harsh, but essentially worthless (until aggregated). If someone's had dozens of items from a brand over a few years and looked at them closely and compared to others.. it's slightly more relevant, but still nothing concrete. I've seen people get insanely unlucky multiple times with proven and objectively quality brands and 1-2 actually have multiple Ares guns that lasted years of heavy play. Posting "my experience with X item bought at Y time" is fine and you add it to the pile for others to read and do with as they see fit. Someone like Luke at NA is maybe one rare example of an individual who sees probably hundreds of guns a year and has done for years and can say "Z brand is likely to be decent for ABC reasons" with some amount of credence, but everyone else - 99% chance you're not sufficiently qualified to make such a statement. Even if you've been playing very regularly for 20 years and travelling all over, you might glean a bit of an inkling but brands and models come and go very rapidly, quality levels rise and fall in the space of months some time. Constantly aggregating the necessary data points in short enough a time isn't really feasible for the vast majority.

  12. I've checked with him, and he says it's not a "good" way, just a way. He reckons he mostly did it because it would make Skylaar on Reddit go shouty-crackers, but it hasn't caused any problems. Any fairly heavy oil should do, through any holes that give you access to the gears, used sparingly - he just had some low fling chainsaw oil to hand.

  14. I forgot to update this with my findings from the last skirmish... It ran great on an 11.1v battery. It didn't double shot on semi, but it did do an occasional weird "60% power" shot, which meant I had a few shots drop short. One even got me a teamkill where I was aiming over a teammate's s head and the BB just curved straight down on him! The full auto performance was fantastic, as much fun as my TM High Cycle AUG, so I'd like to fix that occasional low power shot. (I thought maybe it was double feeding to do that, but no sign of a second BB) I would have used it again today, but I forgot to take the right battery with me 🥴

  15. It does indeed, When I first started to build my L119A2 GBBR I used a long rail and locked it to semi with an output of just undre 1.9j , gamed it that way about twice before switching to the short version and fitting an NPAS. I just didn't find the extra power outwieged the MED hassle Best way to improve range without getting caught up in 30M MED's is to take a look at the hop. Have a look on the MWS thread about what can be done. My WE GBBR's can happily match any aeg for range and accuracy so the MWS certainly should be able to. I never use F/A either, with 30 round mags it's all about working closer, picking your shots and maybe double tapping

  17. 30m is a long way, that MED does soon become a PITA, as I found today when using my bolt action sniper... Thanks in part to my safety catch that seems to get knocked to safe at exactly the wrong times, I had people closing from 'ideal sniping range' to 'too close' in the blink of an eye, and I ended up fumbling for my pistol... at which point I was comprehensively out gunned

  20. In my experience which is exclusively sub-£200 budget gnus as that's my budget - I'd say that any of the big names will serve any beginner perfectly well, and most are available under £150. -CYMA - A good safe bet, they just work and seem to last really well. The CM513 is brilliant, mock suppressor and tons of RIS space. Their AKs are legendary and highly recommended. CM048 is next on my want list. Probably the best choice here. -JG - Another safe bet, again they just work. Provides "different" platforms like MP5s, M14s, G3s, G36s etc. -Specna - Their Core series is decent, Edge IMO should be avoided, everyone knows someone who's had an Edge that's had the complicated electronics or notorious Orion gearbox poo itself at an awkward moment and ruining a skirmish day. Would pick a CYMA or LT instead but that's just me. -Double Eagle - The Honey Badger series has gained a real cult following for lots of features often seen on Gnus double their price - I haven't tried one but lots of fans out there, seeing them appear regularly and everyone has nothing but praise. -Lancer Tactical - Controversial opinion, but I'd recommend them for beginners, lots of features for the money and imternals seem decent. The plastic they use for construction feels more sturdy than most other manufacturers at this price point. I have the M933 Gen 2. It's great cheap thrills, a real hoot, best 100 quid I spent in airsoft! -G&G - Have a good rep, excellent quality but their prices seem to have inflated considerably over the past couple of years. Overpriced for what they are IMHO but otherwise a safe bet for something that will just work. Couple of points to make for beginner AEGs:- -Don't get too hung up on metal bodies - yes its "more realistic" but a) it makes it heavier and b) the metal used in many airsoft guns, especially at this price point, tends to be pretty shit. Plus plastic doesn't rust... -Forget "upgrades". Most AEGs are decent out of the box and only require routine maintenance to keep them working nicely. Parts only really need replacing if they get worn out/broken, like hop rubbers, barrels, motors etc. Focus on getting your game good, your aim, your fitness and your tactics and being part of a team. Those are the important things. Fancy high-end pieces or "uPgRaDeD" frankensteins, i.e. the airsoft equivalent of a tarted-up Vauxhall Nova (and just as unreliable, unless done by someone who knows what they are up to), do not make you a better player. -Snipers, DMRs etc. seem "cool" (and they are to an extent), however its a different way of playing and requires a lot of patience, practice and investment to get right - something that most beginners don't have. Learn the basics first. Learn about communication, team tactics, getting fit, learn your site and the different attack points, defensive points, ways to move, bits you can camp in etc. Once you learn the game you can then look at the different roles within a team and look at things like being a marksman etc. The most important point in all of this however is something that many miss - HAVE FUN! I suppose that's true. I know Stella isn't the same nasty stuff it used to be, but why let that get in the way of being a bit of a beer snob. This is my poison for tonight Anyway, I fit 2 aegs, a pistol and a shotgun with mags along with everything else into a deployment bag and gun bag. I could use something smaller than the deployment bag, but I like being able to just chunk everything in it at the end of the day, rather than faffing about trying to make everything fit

    Specna Arms MK46

    This advert is COMPLETED!

    • For sale
    • Used

Hi All, Putting my Specna Arms core MK46 up for sale, Has seen some use and has a few marks/scratches as expected but nothing major. The button on the stock to extend it has gone walkies at some point during a skirmish but you can still adjust the length by simply pulling the bolt down. The box mag is functional but unfortunately the sound detection function does not work anymore (typical sound activated box mag right?) Sliding the switch to 'on' and pushing it in activates the internal winder and works as expected. Other than a hop rubber change it is completely stock. Defects are reflected in price, which I believe is fair as new retails for £320. Being a sturdy polymer build, it is relatively lightweight compared to full metal LMG rifs and would be a good introduction for someone looking to explore a support role. Will include sling and original packaging. Payments - cash on collection or through PayPal. Would prefer collection from Northamptonshire due to weight but can post at buyers expense. Any questions please ask! Adam

    Evri is unreliable

Not really sure what you’re shooting for here? You sent something incorrectly and got charged for doing so, as is outlined in their terms and conditions. I’m all for railing on companies short comings but this seems entirely fine. When you tick that box that says you agree to the terms and conditions, that’s exactly what you do.

  28. Hello buddy. well, if the seller is on his game they will mark the item as sold, and it will show on the listing. Not everyone remembers to mark it sold, so then you are at the mercy of trying to get a response via pm If you are going to hang around, get a few posts up in the community and after 10 posts (I believe is the amount needed) you will have full access to the classifieds. Just don’t spam post as that’ll just get your card “marked” 😉😂 The New Members page is good to start off to introduce yourself To show you, The item you are looking at is marked “Completed” (sold) And is locked to further enquiries Five stars to the seller for doing his job correctly 😂

    hpa aeg or gbbr

AEG - Usually what I'd advise. They work, they're generally pretty consistent (more than consistent enough before anyone chimes in with "but my HPA system is more consistent!"), they're simple to use and reliable all year round. You can carry way more ammo than you'll realistically need in a game thanks to high caps and you can also carry an Odin speedloader or something like that for in case you need a top-up, so you can easily carry thousands of BBs in a simple loadout, and even if you go solely mid-caps you're still easily capable of carrying hundreds of rounds in a few mags. All in all, there's a reason why AEGs are the mainstay of the hobby and the most common guns. The main drawbacks of AEGs are that gearboxes are technowizardry, so maintenance at that level is difficult, and they're relatively noisy, which isn't really a concern unless your playstyle is specifically designed around being a sneaky bugger. Also, if you treat LiPo batteries poorly they will catch fire pretty spectacularly, but it's very easy to avoid that through proper battery maintenance. There aren't many reasons to not go with an AEG, all things considered. GBBR - The fun, but impractical platform. Will you be outgunned in every fight? Yes, unless you're in a firefight with a bolt action user. Will you curse your choice in the depths of winter when it doesn't work nearly as well? Yes. I hope you like semi-auto on this platform, because the way gas works you're going to get rapid cooldown on full-auto which means any burst longer than a second will start flying all over the place. However, ever since I squeezed through a magazine with my TM AKM, I swore myself off AEGs. They're so much fun to use and feel a lot more satisfying when you do hit people, plus when you pull of a speedy reload with all the realistic weapon manipulation stuff it feels really cool. They also tend to perform really, really well when conditions are optimal. However, mags are incredibly expensive (you'll be looking at £50+ per mag), have a very low capacity (usually around 35 BBs) and are heavy. I carry 7 spare mags for my MWS and 5 spares for my AKM and they are definitely not light... HPA - I have a (potentially) controversial opinion on HPA; I think it's pointless outside of sniper/DMR/sneakyboi guns. Yes, it's more consistent than AEG, but in airsoft at the ranges we play it's totally negligible, plus you can tune an AEG for a fraction of the cost to be pretty much as consistent. Most of the time when playing like a normal person, you'll be squeezing off a couple of shots to hit the target, partially because we're a trigger-happy bunch and partially because airsoft guns are not precision weapons, they're air-powered muskets shooting a projectile that weighs a fraction of a gram at about a joule of energy. Also, you'll have to get used to running an air line and a tank, which you won't notice 95% of the time, but that 5% of the time is infuriating when it gets caught on stuff or tangled up in kit. It's a lot more silent than an AEG or GBBR if you put a foam-filled suppressor on it, it's like having a long mk23 with a far better trigger, way more ammo and the ability to go full-auto. I think all the benefits of HPA are fantastic for sniping and playing sneaky, but outside of that I think AEGs are just a better option.
