Sorry for the repost.... But since I've just had the L129, model 604, 701 etc added to the collection. Was time for an updated family photo.

  2. Training grenade, couple of companies make them in the US, between $20-$30 new, but subject to itar apparently so not easy to ship over. Regards sticking it on the kit, fuck that if it's that heavy, plenty of lightweight copies available online that'd look as good without the weight penalty. I'd keep it as a paperweight or coffee table talking point lol, tell visitors your grandad bought it back from Normandy, go to hand it to them & then fumble it for a reaction 😂

    Which bbs?

Personally I'd pick the Blaster's, however if you'll be buying these online (rather than in a site shop) then ASG sell their "Cursed" BB range and they do a 0.28g in this (for example a 1kg bag of them from Patrol Base). My son, and myself occasionally, have been using Cursed 0.28g BB's for ages and they've always been faultless but they're so cheap if you buy them in bulk from Patrol Base (especially if you can save nay other purchases for the same time like some gas).

  9. Real Steel day today... I think Airsoft is having a severely detrimental affect on my pewing ability though - having large slow moving targets and fully automatic weapons. So the less said about my score today the better. My other excuse is that every time we go, they are having a competition shoot so all the stands are fiendishly tricky. Usual faces and doggo from last time having improved his need to chase clays down field. Gorgeous weather too after the crazy storms and rain the night before. Always amazing to see my ol' man (orange cap) hit anything with his combination of floating black spots and shyte vision in general, plus photochromic glasses and severally arthritic right shoulder. Back to BB wars for the next few months though. Will see how low it can get my RS scores Anyway if any of you have your own shotguns and are near Horam, then this is a great place to go in a beautiful E Sussex setting.

  10. Did the Halloween game at Gunman Tuddenham this weekend, it was a night game and wow, I don't think I have ever seen a company put more effort into an event, let alone for just a 3 hour event. Around 70 players on site for it. They had: A pre game story A pre game video An aliens style egg/nest room Multiple alien face huggers 2 Fully dressed up, masked up Predators with appriate props, spears, skulls and spinal cords etc 2 Fully dressed up Xenomorphs A small (5 people I think) crew of space marines, with pulse rifles, those mounted machine guns things (not sure their real name), armour helmets, light over the shoulder etc. Also they shouted out appropriate lines from the movies as they got stuck into contacts. A set piece including the space marines unwelding a door with props A Predator hide/ritual room with "skinned" victims outside. Pretty darn good hit taking for a night game. Multiple prop signs Appropriate sound effects based on whether it was alien or predator. Custom software interface to get mission objects (which failed on the night, but the effort!) A motion sensor scanner prop And during all of this they wove in 4 Objective based games which were thoroughly enjoyable all on their own. I'd strongly recommend checking out gunmans instagram to see images of what they did.

  11. After seeing people using Gousto boxes as bb catchers on another thread I thought I share what I’ve done for my Airsoft shooting range in the garden. I didn’t use Gousto but Hello Fresh packing material. I’ve used a 60x120cm MDF board and screwed on 1x2 in boards. I then filled it with the packing material from Hello Fresh that they use to keep the meat cold (see first picture). In the bottom of the frame I left a small gap so when I tilt the I don’t shoot from very close (4-10m) but the bbs just stay in the bb catcher and at the end I just tilt the board and the bbs roll out on the side into a bin. Please share your ideas for target practice at home or in the garden

  12. Airgun shooters are using Plumbers Mait from screwfix to line their targets - it acts like a non-newtonian fluid to dissipate the projectile energy without ricochets. Infinitely reusable if you flick the BB's out every now and then.

  13. Thanks. Um there's a few on the list. It's all funds dependant. But next 2 would be the lct hk53 and g3ka4 been released soon. I would love a sterling. But never come up, and last one that did was silly money. So may just write that off. As seen deacts cheaper. But kinda defeats the object of it all been airsoft. But the list I have (in no particular order) *hk53 *g3ka4 *mk48 (L130) *glock 19 *sig 228 *Barrett. 50 *hk417 (L2A1) *m79 blooper *L119A2 Another l96 to convert to a proper L96 I also have a L110 on the go.... but has taken longer than I thought it would.

This has got upgrades like gears, barrel and hop rubber, I've put a m90 eagle six spring, comes with a peq box and battery, red dot and iron sights, plus 2 mags. Currently shooting at 273 fps on .28. This has got a custom cheek rest that can come off easily.

    in a dilemma.

The primary purpose of the buttons is to make it do things that change the end results slightly, some models allow you to reprogramme what certain buttons do to suit your needs. When you’ve had a camera set up with a few personal preset mode configurations The secondary purpose of the buttons is that you can pick it up after a couple of years and wonder what the hell is going on as you can’t remember which is which out of ‘preset mode 1/2/3’ @son of dan an extension to @Herrghrecommending her teaching you something about her camera is to go out for a general photo day. If you have a camera or she has two, then even have a go at each taking a photo of the same thing then comparing results Presumably she will get the artistic element in quickly, and can guide you to how your photo could have compared to hers - or the contrast of your interpretation You can set themes for the day, or sign up to GuruShots and pick a challenge or two then try for some pictures to fit the brief https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/gurushots-photography/id1111221823

those are actually some really good places to go. I'll ask her if she wants to go to one of these places hopefully next weekend. thank you very much for all the ideas 👍. @Dan Robinson might steal some of these ideas as well for when he comes over to Japan. Showa Kinen park caught my eye very quickly as it looks like a place I used to go to in England during lockdown a lot, and also an opportunity for her to fill up her phone storage. Koishikawa Korakuen Garden looks nice, but as you said, probably not worth going in winter as the trees are slowly dying around here, but looks nice for spring/autumn season (if we still go out together that is). Tokyo Tower does look really nice as well, and also a place I haven't been to yet, but a place she has been to. But knowing her, she would probably want to go so she can take a truck load of photos. tickets are surprisingly cheap compared to the Skytree, so I might have to go there at one point. New years events I'd like to do, but she's off to Russia to see family and friends; but no doubt there will be other events around late January, February time.

    Precocking

@Pseudotectonic I like Audacity (very handy), one small caveat with rof though, if your bb's aren't feeding it will still measure them so can throw off results.

    Precocking

You can use Audacity to measure trigger response or ROF or even for general diagnostic by getting an idea of how it cycles. Basically you can set it to record whatever sound you computer is playing, and you just click record and go watch a video and stop recording once you get the sound you need. And then here is my method of interpretation and it works for comparison purposes:

    GHK Sig 553

    This advert is COMPLETED!

    • For sale
    • Used

GHK Sig 553 (pre2019). Comes with 6 leak free mags, the folding stock and quad handguard pictured. Also upgraded internally with a maple leaf barrel and rubber. The mags themselves have tape wrapped baseplates as it's one of the points of failure with these mags (along with the couplers), and in this case one or two of them have split. Other than this, the gun is one of the most realistic I have owned, the finish is exceptional and it manages to go through around 3 mags of BBS on one fill, even in the colder months. I have always been astonished by how efficient it is. Unless mentioned this comes with no further attachments, it will also come with the stock SIG pistol grip, but the Hogue can be thrown in for the right offer. £600 collected from West Sussex

    Coloured Shims

Yes SHS get around the issue by using copper for a certain size. I've never had any issues with the copper shims in a gearbox so that's when I thought of using aluminium shims since they can be annodized pretty cheaply. I have come across alum shims before but never used them. Only real way to tell is get some made up and then run in a gearbox for a 500,000 pews

    in a dilemma.

I get that. I took over 3000 photos when I was in-country a few weeks ago (new high zoom lense.) Don't go bankrupting yourself this early in the relationship though. No one should be expecting fancy trips to Enoshima at this stage. Keep it simple. Make it about spending time together instead of going to wondrous places - save that for later. There is plenty to do that won't drain your wallet and can provide photo opportunities. Street photography is legitimate photography. Other ideas: Showa Kinen Park in Tachikawa. Big bloody park with a JGSDF base next door. There is also a museum near the entrance (closest to Tachikawa station) dedicated to Emperor Showa. I didn't explore too much of it when I was there last, but Google Maps shows how big and varied the park is, so I bet there is plenty to do and see. Can't believe I forgot this one: Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, right by Iidabashi/Suidobashi stations. Lovely landscape garden and only like 300 yen to get in if I remember right. However I don't know if its worth visiting in winter (we last went in sakura season). Tokyo Government Metropolitan Building - the viewing platform on the top floor is free to the public, and the view is brilliant as expected. You went to Skytree, so why not try the original Tokyo Tower - built to be slightly taller than the Eiffel Tower. You could pay money to walk up it, but it's just as impressive from the ground. More interesting colours than Skytree I think. New Year's is coming up - there is bound to be some local festival you can visit. Very lovely for couples, which is a cliche but it's a cliche for a reason. Ask her to teach you about her camera - that's a bonding activity that easily take an hour if she's technically knowledgeable about them. (I'm not, on the other hand. I shoot everything on auto and have no clue what most of the buttons do.)

  42. I think my mums foot steps are louder than any GBBR ever made. @Dan Robinsoncan confirm. I like pistols, but I've always preferred rifles; I think its probably because the first thing I shot was a poachers shotgun, and liked the feeling of using my shoulders more, and not my wrist. I don't really need to carry and hide a pistol because I don't live near Luton, or Bedford anymore, and live in a country where people are afraid to tell people that they've dropped something. got a SIG right now, but I only really use it when my mums out with her friends. but even then, I miss a feeling of a rifle.

  43. You just need a tube that's approximate the same inner and outer diameter as a hop unit feed tube, i.e. when you push it into the top of the mag, it moves the latch and BBs can feed up it. A piece of inner barrel works, or any 6mm ID tube with about a 7mm OD. As a random discovery, I noticed that the purple inner plunger from a small Calpol syringe is hollow inside and has the right dimensions. So I cut the front off one of those and use that now - you can hold your thumb over the end and press it in to release a few BBs at a time, or direct it into a bag or bottle if you're emptying the magazine.

    Firearm ban

Section 21 of firearms legistaion covers convictions and firearms bans. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/27/section/21 This bans for life or for 5 years from release depending on the conviction, but addresses only firearms and ammunition. (Any type of firearm) It doesn’t mention “anything that looks like a firearm”, or water pistols Section 5 defines firearms https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/27/section/5 Under section 57A an airsoft gun is not a firearm (this is to allow it to be treated as an imitation [IF or RIF] in the VCRA) ... provided it is within the power ratings https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/27/section/57A With a general look I cannot see anything in the VCRA about a ban on RIFs/IFs to former convicts .... but there’s a lot of areas of that act, and along with drinking banning orders searches of ‘conviction’, ‘convicted’, ‘ban’ etc come up with a lot of results to look through, and ‘sentenced’ etc has no results. If correct then unless restrictions on release included other factors then airsoft could be exempt from the lifetime / 5 year restrictions. But it probably isn’t worth gambling your freedom on a technicality and seeing if a court will agree. Airguns are firearms under the act. A paintball gun is a firearm - “a low powered air weapon that discharges frangible ammunition” and falls in and out of various parts of legislation. However - before using people on the internet for advice and subsequently finding yourself back in prison for possessing a firearm get some proper clarification from your lawyer/probation officer/local police etc
