Good choice honestly. Maple leaf never dissapointed me yet, I have prommy purple in mine before but results were not as consistent as i woul of liked then switch to maple leaf macaron 60 and was happy ever since.

English is not my native tounge so bare with me on this. But I’m going to try to give you an answer. The answer to your first question is no. The valve doesn’t remain open ”until the slide recoils”. But hopefully the gas vented will make the slide recoil. Make sense? The valveknocker will hit the valve and then ”relax” (getting pushed back by the valvespring) allowing the valve to close after each shot. How long the valve remains open depends on many different factors. Like hammerspring strength, valvespring strength and the preassure of the gas you’e using (psi). The slide recoiling is essential for the hammer reseting allowing another shot. Problems regarding the slide not cycling correctly might depend on a number of issues. Aswell as if your mag is venting all gas or lightstriking. My advice is to go on youtube and learn the basic function aswell to try your theories in real life just ”fiddling” with your gun as you did yourself when 12. That's just marketing bullshit and spandex boy hype. When my main site was The Mall (too soon, RIP), I would regularly play with full length M4s, a SCAR-L, an M249 (no, really - it was hilarious). I've seen people playing with M14s (granted, the SOCOM short barrel ones but still). Unless you're playing in a broom cupboard, 100mm vs 200mm is completely moot. Get the long one.

Given the way things are going, with second hand G&G M4s at £130+, we could all be asking ourselves a similar question soon... Personally I treat all rifs to a bit of deference given their relative delicacy. This attitude lasts until I get carried away enjoying the game and inevitably my most used guns are missing various bits and sport a fair few examples of gaffer tape and cable ties. If the damage annoyed me, I would not use them, however much they cost.

@Davegolf you are one of the most respected people on this forum, not to mention helpful in dispensing advice. It's the XT 22 TPA from AK2M4 that I went with, and have it in three AEG's now (I was after a high torque motor as most of the time I play semi only, don't need a crazy RPS, plus one AEG has an M105 spring and the other two are M130's). It's snappier on semi, definitely a lot cooler than the stock Chaoli motor, but had zero effect on battery life (and the two with Falcon's are working just as they did, and another is using a GATE Titan with no problems). Also on my M908A I swapped the pinion gear on the new XT motor over to the one on the stock Chaoli motor as the gears weren't meshing 100% perfectly.

I've used the AX15 at 2 games so far and after the first woodland game I decided to swap out the hop unit and inner barrel as it struggled to lift 28's at distance. I popped onto AK2M4's website and purchased a couple of ZCI hop units and a couple of Omega Nub packs. I also fitted a 310mm Maple Leaf 6.02 inner barrel from HPA-UK. I used the ZCI hop rubber that comes with the hop units as it seems pretty good quality for sub 350 FPS. I used it with the upgrades at the weekend at UCAP's Vendetta site and the changes made a massive difference to the range and accuracy. My KWA midcaps decided that they indeed did want to work with the AX15 so that was a bonus. Probably going to swap the stock for either a BCM Gunfighter stock or a Magpul EPS-C because I think it will look better with either of them but can't decide on which one yet. Overall opinion is that's it's a very good mid range AEG and can be inproved by some simple cheap upgrades.
