A sadist, a masochist, a murderer, a necrophile, a zoophile, and a pyromaniac are all sitting on a bench in a mental institution. "Let's have sex with a cat?" asked the zoophile. "Let's have sex with the cat and then torture it," says the sadist. "Let's have sex with the cat, torture it, and then kill it," shouted the murderer. "Let's have sex with the cat, torture it, kill it and then have sex with it again," said the necrophile. "Let's have sex with the cat, torture it, kill it, have sex with it again, and then burn it," said the pyromaniac. There was silence, and then the masochist said: "Meow4 points

Bought an old Limcat H-bar from someone. Had it and the frame cerakoted to breathe some new life into it. I’m in awe of this colour 👌🏽 I also absolutely wrecked the paintwork on my AA G19. The same guys did a clean camo job on it to make it look new again! Inspired by the hillbilly cerakote that RWA are doing on their latest batches of AA slides.3 points -
What is the best colour? And why is it Ranger Green? Ammo Hub in RG with: MissionSpec RackStraps Enhanced in RG; Small admin insert (obscured by mags, it's a simple 12x15cm velcro sandwich with no closure); Viper triple M4 elastic insert (placeholder until I can find a good AK insert)3 points

This. 7 Years ago - when I finally realised that I was in real trouble - I was £23k in debt with Credit Cards. Luckily I was (just about) paying the minimum payment on time (so no late payments or defaults), but those minimum payments were skyrocketing, interest free offers were ending, and I was struggling. Thing is - my Wife had no idea I was in debt. It was when she found out that I had to confront the issue and acknowledge what an idiot I had been - all to buy the shiny newest thing and get the dopamine hit of receiving parcels in the post. I was deeply unhappy with my job which compounded the issue as I would sit at work browsing for stuff to buy rather than...y'know...working. It was all the more galling that I had literally nothing to show for it - I would buy stuff then sell it before I even used it (that includes Paintball and Airsoft gear). The proceeds of the sales would just get frittered away on more random and pointless crap - and never to tackle the Credit Card debt that was steadily accruing. I was very lucky. My Wife didn't divorce me (but it was close) - I don't know where I would be today if she had. I was able to change jobs and dramatically increase my income. Every spare penny went into repaying the debt - and it took 5 years - but for the last 2 years I have not owed a penny to anyone and I am determined to keep it that way. It can be done - I would also suggest taking a look at the 'Debt Free Wannabe' section of the Money Saving Expert forums, it helped us to identify the best course of action for the circumstances I landed myself (and family) in.3 points -

I've tried the built in balaclava type but didn't get on with the fit. I now use a delta Mike snood with built in mesh panel. It's much better. Easy to pull up and down, breaths better for keeping cool and it's nit bulky. I think there's different versions with more or less mesh so it might be worth having a look.2 points -
Yeah, going to grab a cyma spring shotgun as a back-up for when I cause my own problems or the AK goes down.2 points

Great to hear it. 1J is fine for woodland, it's more about consistency than theoretical maximum range. And yes, teching can be fun just on its own merits. Although it's always best to have a backup gun to hand before you open a gearbox, in case you find yourself with parts missing or "spare" afterwards.2 points

Hi all, I just tested it with the M105 spring (AK2M4 is super fast, thanks for the recommendation @Nick G) with 0.25's and it's firing pretty consistently at just under 300 FPS / 1J. I don't really have the space to test it for range and accuracy but at least she's legal for the field I go to now! Everything else I've left as factory barring giving the barrel a clean. Quite enjoyed the deconstruction / construction so I dare say I'll be back with more questions after I've given her a proper run. Cheers for the help folks2 points

Thanks for the kind words, fortunately nothing came of an attempt on his own life as he was “talked down” from the situation. It’s not a nice space to be, with a family and prior to this a seemingly happy existence to rock bottom. We’ll be supporting him as much as we can…I’m already talking his wife through some debt management systems etc. Social media can be such a useful tool but also so detrimental and I think as humans were not ready for this and I can only see it getting worse. Lesson learnt, check on your friends and loved ones no matter how trivial it could be, people need each other.2 points -
Yeah I kinda fell into the trap of trying to please multiple people. I did have someone lined up for both parts, the RIF as someone wanted that as their project gun, and then someone for the hpa engine and bits for that. But then the RIF guy fell through. Ideally I was wanting to sell it as a complete system, retrospectively I will stick to doing that in the future. And yes, just sick of looking at it, knowing it's not getting use. Thank you both for your feedback though. Seems if I'm wanting to shift it, just need to mark it down a fair bit to get interest on it.2 points

If you're in debt, help is out there and it can get better. I was around £16k in credit card debt, had some ccjs and was very lucky to have some support from family and a debt management company/charity and managed to get out of that hole, even with help it wasn't easy but the journey of being out of debt made my day to day life better than when I was burying my head in the sand/being in a destructive mindset(more disposable income and better quality of life). Saw some dark days etc. Now I'm debt free, bought a house and just recently got my credit score back to perfect. But my point is there is help out there, for everyone, if you're in a dark place it can get better, there are people and charities that can help, just reach out. There's hope.2 points -
My little creation. Since I couldn't find the metal G&P rail kit I improvised to make M11a1 as useful as possible still maintaining slim shape (that is why there are no side rails). Used it last weekend and it was cracking fun. It is bit of a ugly duckling and won't be everyone's taste but it works perfectly for me and it is Daddy's Lil Monster2 points

Chasing that new toy? Need a new plate carrier for an “impression”, want to be adorned in the latest forward observations group drip? It happens to us all, we get lost down the rabbit hole, looking for that perfect load out, that ultimate “thing” that will make us the envy of Instagram / insert site name here…it costs time, it costs money…it can cost a lot more. If you’re struggling, talk to somebody…today I nearly lost a friend who is thousands upon thousands of pounds in debt, all from trying to impress everybody else. Is everybody doing ok? Vent here if you need, just remember it’s a game, don’t sink yourself financially trying to keep up, I’m guilty of it and I imagine there are quite a few others here too.1 point -
South London - new to airsoft
Rogerborg reacted to ChowYunFat for a topic
I thought I would say Hi! I have hunted and target shot with air rifles for a while. I thought I would try airsoft as it would combine shooting and team play. (Big Team fortress /COD fan) I've looked around and I haven't heard many good things about Bunker 51 - so I thought I'd try Croydon and Incursion. I emailed Incursion on Friday and John gave me a call and we had a good chat, so I'm going to pop over on Wednesday evening and give it a go. I'm not sure that CQB will be my thing, I suspect something more suited to a decent DMR would be more my speed. I also like the look of ground zero - though it does look massive, it looks more my speed - but its a bit of a trek to get there. I'm looking forward to it and obtaining some gear, so I can mod and tweak like I do with my Air Arms Rifles. I think 6.03 barrel, maybe c-more sight and new hop rubbers - but I'll do my best to be patient and learn what I can while on the forums and playing. Also be interesting to see how much sites talk to each other - or if I will have to concentrate on one for my UKARA.1 point -
Heh, this one is not secure enough to hold any valuable since it doesn't have any closure system (not that it can't be DIY'd or engineered huh). I just use it for navigation equipment (pencil, map, 10cm metal ruler and plastic protractor). I keep my car keys/phone in my backpack that I always have on my back, dummy corded so there's no way of losing them. The harness was chosen because I also have their flatpack straps (called PackStraps, many creativity, such wow) and they're very, very comfortable compared to HSP/clone stock straps, if anything a little too expensive to import (they were about €80 after customs and import fees, I got 50% off the straps themselves so you are looking at well over 100 for full price) but worth it. As per the other thread, I won't be overloading it with pouches, wings, danglers and all that crap unless absolutely necessary, I'm keeping this one ultra slim. If I need to carry my kitchen sink I'll just wear my Mayflower or belt kit1 point

Worst: tough one, there's my Cyma MP5 which never fired right from the day I got it, would work perfectly at home but get to site and it'd fire about once in every 3 or 4 trigger pulls, currently in pieces in a box. Then there was the WE Hi-Capa 5.2R, the one with the meat tenderiser on the front, loved the look of it but just couldn't get on with it in-game, sold to a mate who was really happy with it (odd bloke). There's also my SRC G36C (Gen III) I bought second hand from a mate for £80, boxed, with a load of mags, was pretty good up until the gearbox decided to eat itself. Best: not any easier! There's my Silverback SRS 16" Sport with a few choice upgrades (thank you annual bonus!) which is just incredible. My WE G18C with the "fun switch", Mad Bull hop & Crazy Jet barrel, pretty much the range of an AEG. AEG wise, I adore my Krytac PDW MkII, light, compact and (with a Lonex inner barrel & Prommy purple) insane range and accuracy. Then there's my aforementioned G36C which went through a bit of an internal transformation after it broke, too many tweaks to list, I now run it on 0.3s, I can't wind a hi-cap fast enough to keep up with its rate of fire and it's literally like a laser (especially if I put the tracer on it), it's pretty much a one shot = one kill RIF now, and it's running at around 320fps on 0.2s. I honestly don't know why but a lot of folk don't like to be on the opposing team to me??? 😈1 point

So 23 years of playing have I managed to avoid facial scars and lost teeth, but with a new customer facing job and wanting to play more CQB I think its time I look at face protection. Problem is I am a big sod and masks I have tried either didn't fit at all or were deeply un comfortably. Any larger tall people have experience with the balaclavas with the built in masks or any recommendations?1 point

Always been happy with one of these, since I got one... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aoutacc-Foldable-Airsoft-Protection-Paintball/dp/B07FBJG365/ref=asc_df_B07FBHGBNL/ It's definitely saved me from some stingers around the face and ears, and saved a tooth probably - I got pinged right in the mouth mesh last time out.1 point -
I've never used face protection either, but I have a friend who swears by his Delta Mike snood with mesh panel, so I'd recommend them off of his feedback.1 point

@Rogerborg I noticed a site the other day doing calendar months as well. Always wondered if maybe a site would "credit" a visit that you made to another site, if you asked nicely and showed proof. Never heard of this happening before though and wouldn't be in the interests of the site.1 point

Personally, I tend not to use a weapon light for long periods of time so there's less chance of the build up of heat. It may be that using it as a torch to find stuff is not representative of using it in a game - play a game with it and see how warm it gets. I carry a torch for illumination duties, which can be handy at diverting fire and eliminating enemy hidey-holes if you leave it somewhere.1 point

Hope your friend pulls through his situation dude. Financial awareness is something that is severely lacking from our education system, coupled with susceptibility to peer pressure and you have a very dangerous concoction. Thankfully for us we have reached peaked space constraints now, so no more pews after this evenings' acquisition. Now I just wish my customers would collectively pay the tens of thousands I'm owed so I can pay everyone else LOL. This game is a good release for both me and the boy from the day to day grind, and I hope it remains thus for everyone else. As you say, it's only a game, do no more than you need to have fun playing it; and balls to everyone else who try to make it otherwise.1 point -

When was the 'Golden Age' of airsoft?
Badgerlicious reacted to Impulse for a topic
Yeah, that was my experience too. At the milsim I attended, the OpFor guys were really chill whilst the TF guys were... um... yeah. I find it can bleed over into the filmsim stuff as I think it's a certain elite-tacticool-oper8r mindset that draws people to that side, but it's not nearly as bad. At the Vietnam games I go to, literally all of the PAVN/VC guys are super chill and up for a laugh, whilst on the US/AUS side there are definitely some great guys who are super chill and up for a laugh, but there are also some who have a stick so far up their butt I'm surprised they can crouch in game. At the end of the day it's BB wars with varying levels of LARP. Like... you can't take yourself that seriously 😂 Pretty much the same as me, but since you started only a year before I did it makes sense that our experiences would line up. Nowadays all I see is multicam/MTP (makes sense, it's dirt cheap) so when I show up in my MARPATs it makes me feel like a special little snowflake. I do need to get my hands on some desert MARPAT at some point, but finding it in my size is a real effort. You're right in terms of the knowledge aspect too. I remember having a look around as a teenager and finding the US Army sniper training field manual as a PDF, then proceeding to learn through experience what worked and what didn't apply for airsoft. It was super fun and honestly I think I'm a better player for it. People are always amazed at my local site when I am basically invisible wearing no camo during the summer months and too many snipers rely on these super gucci leaf suits now to stay hidden when other players are nearby. Helps me stay hidden during Vietnam games too, since black pyjamas aren't the best camo I think the time we start airsoft definitely influences our decisions even today. I still love my classical style rifles (m700s, m14s etc) because I started airsoft around the time of Black Hawk Down and CoD4 (All Ghillied Up!) and those two pieces of media heavily influenced me getting into sniping in airsoft; my first RIF was a Warrior L96. Yes, I did the thing we tell everyone not to do and I bought a bolt action as my first gun and I loved it. My early go-to loadout in airsoft was an m14 at DMR power and m1911 because of Black Hawk Down and... I still use that combination sometimes to this day, though I am looking at sourcing a G&P m14 DMR stock for my HPA TM m14 because I want to be a unicorn (I have literally never seen anyone using one ever).1 point -

I was also working on a folding one but Ill need to revisit it at some point because its just not strong enough. Also working on a hk21 machine gun based on one of my g3s1 point -

But they are warm and there is a cord to go up your sleeves just like primary school. 😁 Over white covers were made and they come in Olive, Woodland and ACU. Wooly pad on the back for cleaning your goggles/wiping you nose. They have M65 type liners and are sized to go over the trigger finger shells (next item).1 point -

The basic issue glove was the D3a light duty work glove. They area simple thin leather glove with a strap and buckle to secure them across back. Wool blend liners are designed to be worn inside the leather glove in the cold. Neither layer is waterproof, the liner is a fairly coarse knit and not especially wind resistant. Pretty basic and not very good in the wet but they are an okay work glove. Issued in black or tan. Not really a shooters glove and that explains why acquiring a pair of flight gloves was popular.1 point -

working on a TM MK46 recoil in need of some love. Knocked up a 5.56 link retainer for the magazine to keep the rounds attached to the mag (and cheaper than the £66 fake bullet set from TM). The recoil part that shakes the rounds had been damaged so I designed and printed a new one and one of the bipod feet was missing (let's not talk about TM's decision to use a magic pin system to hold the foot on instead of welding it). I've got a replacement bipod on the way so the foot design and print was just for fun and it does work.1 point -

Been working on more EPM-1S shells, this time to make them look like M16 VN 20 round mags. Can be printed in one piece, with no additional hardware needed. As close to plug and play as I have come with a design as of yet. V1 was an attempt at adapting my 417 EPM-1S to fit, and was dropped early. V2 was a shell to test general fit. V3 fixed the internal dimensions to allow the EPM-1S to slide in fully - the print failed at about the 85% mark but it still allowed me to test dimensions so I still count it as a success. V4 was the initial "production" model, with the appropriate slots in the mag to make it look like a VN mag. A bottom floorplate was added for the EPM-1S bolt and plunger. The mag catch recession was shrunken to fit within the slots. After printing I confirmed V4 is a working model and I could stop there, but there were a few small details to be added. These included moving the bolt hole 1.9mm forward to align better with the hole in the mag itself, and the plunger recession was modified to fit the more ovular nature of the plunger. V4 in my N23: V4 next to a standard EPM-1S: Left to right, V2, V3, V4: V4 between a VN 20 round mag and a standard 30 round mag:1 point -
