Whinge Regarding Shipping Costs
Rogerborg and one other reacted to Cr0-Magnon for a topic
I agree that this is an issue, particularly with many Gen.Z'ers. It always puzzles me when people will start threads on this forum, along the lines of "Does anyone know how long it usually takes >insert retailer here< to send items?" However I don't think that applies in this case. If I've already gone out of my way to be loyal to them (ie going to their website first), why should I go to the further inconvenience of calling and "negotiating" the postage cost. Especially when the times I actually get a moment to shop for this kind of stuff are usually during my lunch break at work, or in the evening when they're closed.2 points -

What no MC51 fan’s? Had Noboby gone G3 SAS slap happy? Call yourselves airsofters? I am ashamed! G3 AM BESTEST GUN!!!!! GOAT!!!!! Anyway enough if that. I do find it amusing when the post starts with “I am being controversial for not using an M4, but something that looks rather like one, but with a slightly thicc(er) mag.” 😆2 points -
Whinge Regarding Shipping Costs

Airsoft companies have been over charging for years sadly. Some do it to try to get the customer to order more items in the attempt to justify the shipping etc. I actually subsidise 90% of the shipping fees in order to retain customers. £12.99 is very high for some BB's, what was the total weight?2 points -

Whinge Regarding Shipping Costs
Rogerborg reacted to Ebeneezer Goode for a topic
I recently went online to a well-known and regarded airsoft retailer I have used many times in the past without issue to stock up on some BBs, only to find I was quoted a shocking £12.99 in shipping (more than the cost of the BBs themselves). Previously it was half this for non-RIF packages like BBs, gun addon tat, clothing etc. I know the cost pressures everyone is facing - my wife has a business and has had to change couriers due to exorbitant costs (mainly due to the out of control price of fuel). I can understand courier charges for RIFs, need for insurance, secure transit/delivery etc. However to charge more for shipping than the price of an item definitely ventures into the arena of taking the piss. With Royal Mail the size of said package would cost no more than a fiver... I went instead to EBay and bought there, for the same total price the well-known retailer quoted and got double the amount of BBs. Shipping was included in the price too. Said well-known retailer has now lost my business forever. Sad really.1 point -

Good point and one I'm not averse to - although I am rather more old school and take people at their word. So if something is advertised at price x, that's the price, no nudge nudge wink wink ere ahhs abaaht a deal then me old mucka. Can't be arsed. If it's advertised on your site at x that's what I pay, or decide to go elsewhere if x is too dear. As for InstaSpam and ShitTok, pah, a pox on their houses.1 point -

Medium motor... Sleeve
RostokMcSpoons reacted to Lozart for a topic
The pinion will either be a push fit or it will have a grubscrew which will no doubt be embalmed in threadlock. If it's a push fit you'll want one like the "large vice" version here https://www.ant-supplies.uk/assorted-tools/motor-pinion-gear-tool.html because the type you have linked to will only pull the pinion off, it won't help putting it back on.1 point -
It might not though, then that time is sunk. And it could have gone into finding that you can get much better value elsewhere even if they shipped free and gratis. Similarly with used sales (gnus, cars): crazy asking prices on the assumption that you'll do the dance, mate, haggle them down, mate, everyone knows that, that's just the game, mate. I know some people do enjoy the thrill of bargaining down to what you can just click on elsewhere, but I suspect that's going to become an increasingly niche selling strategy in an era of easy comparison shopping.1 point

Whinge Regarding Shipping Costs
sonofsammo reacted to ak2m4 for a topic
Only 1kg, would only be £3.95 via Royal Mail 24 Tracked service. My guess is in order to simplify their website backend shipping function they just use a single shipping weight. It's a pretty lazy way doing shipping but very tempting as it can cut a huge amount of confusion. Took me a few hours to get my head around how the shipping worked and I had to "fudge" the system in order to get it working as I wanted. So many work-arounds.1 point -

RostokMcSpoons reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
If you are referring to the bit that sits on the motor shaft between the pinion and motor can, then yes, they are easy to transfer. It's getting the pinion off in the first place that can be the problem. You might need a pinion pulling tool if it's a press fit.1 point -

Literally a 1kg bag, i.e. sod all. A joke considering a RIF from the same supplier is £20 for delivery (still excessive IMO but at least understandable). As I say, they've fucked themselves with their own cock as far as I'm concerned.1 point -
Well they were cheapest for PTS recoil mid caps. So ordered. So far email confirmation up dates have been good.1 point

They're actually one of my preferred retailers. Always been really good with me and they've ordered stuff in for me in the past from Europe (they order from https://www.airsoftzone.com/ semi-regularly). Super helpful for me because KJW m700 parts, magazines and after-market upgrade parts can be hell to find in the UK, but airsoftzone orders them in regularly. Can't recommend them enough. Always done well by me and thus they're one of my favourite retailers now.1 point

Evolution coming to Socom Tactical
RobHedley reacted to Josh SocomTactical for a topic
Yeah definitely work, I promise... I am not sure what your "girlfriend" or Facebook has to do with this but you do you. I for one one agree with you in the most case, 80% of Airsoft Equipment is made in China one way or another but I am just saying Evolution have told us the guns are manufactured in Italy, most likely meaning they are put together/modified there, not every individual part made there. As for the lying comment you clearly don't know me personally nor have the right to make this claim, I for one will not sell someone something I don't think is worth selling, like the King Arms pistols we stock amongst other things. I am guessing you've never been to the store or spoken to us in any means otherwise you'd know this. How about pop down to the store one day and see for yourself?1 point -
The rear sight is odd admittedly but yeah I had 3 of those many years ago and the guns themselves are very nice for sure. That old school SR-15 setup pre-freefloat handguards is a real throwback, specially for those who know the old pre-NGRS TM AEG that's similar looking.1 point

I finished this Umarex Buntline yesterday, after being a little underwhelmed with a KTW Winchester and acquiring a stock cheaply. Turns out the stock is from a Colt SAA 2nd generation, what they put with the actual branded buntlines in 1957. Barrel made from aluminium with brass internally, and a tanaka ejector. Assembles and disassembles as it was designed. Shooting at 0.9 joules and hops 0.32s on a flat trajectory at 40m, the limit of my garden. Probably a realistic 55m but the bbs will be travelling pretty slowly by then. Hammer mod to make the hammer sit more flush with the frame. Bottom one is also hopped but for 0.25s.1 point -

Very true. Something to bear in mind - having the correct cylinder is right, but also attention needs to be made to the quality of the piston head rubber. This tends to be forgotten. Learn from what you have found out so far, but when it comes to upgrades, like is more and bit at a time.1 point -

Fitment with the gearbox perhaps? The delta series has a slightly thinner gearbox where the trigger unit sits, and is fitted in the body with some small pins that are moulded on the receiver. On my ak21 I had to do some filing which I could see causing issues with nozzle alignment.1 point -

Wouldn't let me open the video. Most likely a compatibility issue with the Gate gearbox and hop chamber / Nuprol receiver. Can be a sod of an issue. Adding onto what @Fatboy40 said 1. What's the length of the inner barrel? 2. What's the cylinder type?1 point -

I’ve tried a multitude of brands, both in my VSR and in GBBR M4s, the only one I’ve found to be reliably good quality is Geoffs Super Precision. I will now rather sit out a game with the VSR if I haven’t got enough Geoffs. tried Vorsk recently in my MWS and they left a lot of white residue and had a habit of shattering in the gun, they’re going in the bin. my advice would be to try some good quality ammo and also either keep it in its original packaging and try to avoid contamination (don’t empty your speed loader back in the bag/bottle) or keep it in another (clean) plastic container. The cloth BB bags I’ve seen some people use cause dust and fine dirt to accumulate on the BBs.1 point -

yep, it is indeed. good ammo is imo one of the first "upgrades" folk should do, it's the easiest variable to eliminate when facing the problem of trying to improve accuracy. can also help function, i've "fixed" many a misfeeding gun by doing nothing more complex than emptying the magazine and filling it with geoffs.1 point -

Currently ASG's. I've tried a de brands with mixed results, one wwll known and rated brands pellets being visually smaller, confirmed by my digital calipers, only a little but smaller diameter than two other brands I had to hand! May have been Counterfeit as a fleabay purchase. Given the money spent on buying and uprating airsoft hardwear it seems sensible to use reliable ammo.1 point -
