  2. Ah, the dichotomy of sniping. You're either in the woods and limited by how far you can see, or in the open and at the mercy of the elements. I think we tend to remember those 75m+ (airsoft units) shots because they're so rare.

  3. Cheers guys. As for susat wear. As this is based on a 3 para 2008 afghan look, all the pics I've seen of the paras in that period have well worm susats. So am basically do a straight copy what was seen in theatre.

  4. Hahaha, hopefully there will be less rubber, 12hrs it's going to chafe. For some reason it's what they have been calling it, but it's like a milsim with less stitch counting and less kit restrictions.

  7. Armbands vs non armbands is definately a thing. Typically due to sites having more numbers (ie only enough armbands of all colours to outfit one team) or if they use tape that they've run out of one colour. It's also pretty universal that when it happens the armband team blames the armbands for any and all percieved failures (that arent blamed on cheating at least). Granted a well organised site this shouldnt happen, but organised and airsoft are 2 words that seldom go hand in hand.

  10. If you’re asked to wear an armband on your arm by the Marshalls running the site and you then, without Marshall permission, remove said armband from your arm, to your leg or elsewhere, then you’re cheating and gaining an unfair disadvantage over others who are playing fairly by the rules. Simple.

  11. Reticle. It's not an exact science with airsoft guns, but I know roughly where on the reticle to aim at 75m. Wind is harder to adjust for because airsoft projectiles are so light and have so little energy so they get affected a lot and it's really inconsistent as to how they're affected. Airsoft sniping in the wind feels like you're just flirting with Lady Luck and hoping she appreciates your advances.

kwa mp7 with 4 gas tight mags and a maple crazy jet barrel and 70 degree hop up bucking with theta optics eotech, working peq box (ir laser, torch, red laser) and a nuprol picatinny flashlight with a metal supressor this has had two owners The crazy jet inner barrel is mental the range on is phenomenal on .30 i have also included the original parts from before including the original muzzle, outer barrel and inner barrel, hop up bucking and a old front cover that has broken but will fit on the mp7 but the one on it right now is brand new and fits i have also included a plate for the bottom of a mag though to me it looks bent a common issue with the kwa mp7 is that the stock will slide as you fire it ive fixed it so that it does not slip when firing one of the plastic sling loops have snapped but that can easily be remedied as you can use the other side or buy a picatinny sling rail adapter this mp7 did have the 'crack of death' and you can see where i repaired it i used it last week and it didnt re appear as i have put a little extra plastic on the inside of it i have also put extra rubbers where the bolt hits the back to stop it doing it again but i dont know if it will do it again but if the body does bother you (it is quite worn but works fine) you can buy one from rainbow 8 for about 45 pounds and even a tan version at the same price (they have loads of spare parts for kwa mp7) it is SUPER easy to repair but i do not simply have time to repair it and just want to sell to fund my car there are quite a few videos on yt on how to dissassemble it and i have you just need to knock out a few pins and the whole front inside part comes out i have also added lees precision power down kit which is this little cone shaped bit that fits in the nozzle and powers it down (essentially lowering fps) i did this as it was around 380- 370 on red gas so i used the '-25 fps' bit though i have included the '-50 fps' for cqb and the original one too THE THETA OPTICS EOTECH ISNT INCLUDED but everything else is if im honest this is a pretty good deal as the mags will probably set you back 150 on their own and the new barrel and bucking with outer barrel was 40 from firesupport and the gun, suppressor, barrel and inner barrel, muzzle, and fps kit, torch i put a free patch in because who doesnt like a free patch??? i hate to see this to go but i need a car for college dad is getting sick of ferrying me around so im selling some of my gear i will take paypal and bank transfer but if you can collect i will take cash will be sent tracked through parcelforce 48 hour ill have to find out how much it will cost This in my opinion is a very good deal this alone should go for over £300 feel free to ask questions.

  15. Having been one in a previous life/hobby, the reason I avoid proper milsim events is that I wouldn't want to be in the worst kit there. Area-66 ran a WW2 event recently, as one of their marshals and his mates are into that, with vehicles and deacs and all sorts. The turnout was very low, partly because it was the last weekend before the schools went back, but I reckon a fair number of folk looked at the great WW2 impression kit in the promos and - even though they said everybody was welcome, just don't use modern magazine pouches - thought "Well, I'll look pretty daft next to that."

  16. A "Rossi" VSR type sniper rifle bought from the classifieds, my first dip of a toe into the bolt-action waters... good fun plinking in the garden at least! And I enjoyed doing the faux multicam rattle-can job on the stock, I think it came out reasonably well. I used a bit of camo net as the stencil. And I just picked up a set of Viper multicam trousers, t-shirt and hoodie for a very low price from Action Hobbies - supporting my local retailer, one bargain at a time! Apart from exotic stuff like Lee Enfields, SLRs, and maybe another HPA gun, my main hankering now is for a cheap H&K MP5, or a G36K. But perhaps I ought to actually go skirmishing...?

  17. If one day we have a perfect invisible tech (let's call it magic suit) anyone wearing the magic invisible suit will be fully expected to wear armbands at the very minimum, probably leg bands as well, if not just for safety and ID reasons. I think the visible armband rule should be mandatory to all players to maintain fairness, if the guy in normal suits have to keep his armband visible (and not allowed to hide it), a ghillie should not enjoy any privilege to be able to remove or relocate or obscure their armband just because they choose to dress in leafs. I would even argue ghillies should have mandatory leg bands in addition to armbands as to allow prone position identification for friendlies. If I decided to put my armband in my pocket just because I am dressed in some magical optical cloaking tech (therefore should be "fully invisible") they would have kicked me out of the site. The thing is, this is ultimately a game, and any game needs some sort of balance for A. a fun experience for all and B. for the health of the hobby in general. By and large the real world counters to real snipers are not commonly practised in airsoft or have a much higher bar of entry than just paying £50 for a ghillie overall. This is also a game legally limited to 1J plastic bullets and the rules should be designed around the gameplay that emerge from it and I would say perfect invisibility should be ruled out. At the minimum team identification should be visible from any angle. Outside of the armbands, you can be as invisible as you want but keep the armbands visible. Moreover if you wear a ghillie you should still need to make the armband (and leg band) visible even just for identification reasons alone. If someone has the rare skills to identify you from under the bush before you can shoot him but not able to tell you are friend or foe, they will be forced to either shoot you or ask you verbally which team you are on, which frankly both are merely workarounds of a problem that should not be allowed to take place in the first place. So this is as much as a class-privilege problem and a practical gameplay rule-set problem.

  18. M904s are the polymer receiver / hand guards, excellent value for money. The spring in mine went a bit soft rather quickly so I lost FPS, but a new spring was very easily fitted thanks to the quick change system. Good guns. My local site runs them as well as the g&g raiders, which must be a recommendation!

  19. Well done on completely missing the point. You claimed you're not putting on your leg to hide the band but also say putting it on your arm will make you stick out so it goes on your leg. How is that not trying to hide it?
    1 point
  20. Probably because thats what you said. Many non ghillie users will often wear stuff that helps with camouflage but are capable of wearing the band on their arm and staying concealed. Claiming that you can't stay hidden with a 2 inch band on your arm is simply bullshit
    1 point
  21. If the arm band is to show team affiliation not to make players stand out then who cares where a ghillie wears it so long as they accept that when they get shot by friendlies it's their own fault? Players often shoot people before band identification simply based on player directional heading and their own itchy trigger fingers, probably the same ones whining about ghillie band placement. If your on side with a ghillie communicate so you have some awareness of his area of operation to negate the frequency of team kills and vice versa/more importantly Ghillies communicate with your team before you start. It's not cheating if the band is for team identification as opposed to making one stand out and the only one suffering is the ghillie himself when he gets hit from both sides. @leadly put some longer grassy fabrics on one arm, wear the band on the arm, cover it with the fabric, screw the whiners on a technicality, of course they will still cry because they like to suck the fun out of everything!

  22. It would appear no matter what I say or how I say it, you'll always class it as hiding my band. So I'll just give up wasting my valuable procrastination time on this thread and revert back to watching pimple popping videos on Instagram! All the best x

SOLD Bought these recently from a friend for use in my KWA gun, but I found they don't fit the magwell quite as well as KWA's own Mid-Caps (go figure) - hence selling on. Good condition - being sold as a pair (not individually) so the price is for both mags, and includes Postage and PayPal fees.

  24. Last Sunday's game was a bit crap. A few questionable "misses" from really close and in general I wasn't enjoying it. Also decided to get rid of the Helikon TMR, not a bad rig by any means, it's just that my priorities have shifted and it doesn't fit the bill anymore. In the meantime I borrowed an HSGI SureGrip belt from a friend to try out, I've been thinking about building a belt kit for a while especially for those 8h+ games where mobility and weight saving is key.

  25. In an era where G&G Raiders are £220 now (like - WTF, seriously G&G?!?) - this is still a pretty good deal for a full-metal 'long' rifle with reasonably well regarded internals. Not quite the bang-for-buck of the 904x series though.

  26. I took a trip down to Bunker 51 for the first time. On the whole I enjoyed it as the staff were friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing. On the down side I found there were some who seemed reluctant to call hits and needed 4 or 5 shots before calling it Also I'm glad I picked a mid week game as there was only 13 players on site. I got the impression that if the site was fully booked (30 is the max iirc) it would be far too crowded. All in all I think I'll go back, but probably not at a weekend

  27. The main issue with 33g stocks are that 33g co2 capsules are exorbitantly expensive. 12g is roughly 30-50p depending if you buy bulk or not. 33g cost £8-10 individually and it's very hard to get them in bulk. Let's say 3x 12g capsules = 1 33g capsule. It's still around 6x the cost (10/1.5) which is insane. Not very economical to run and hard to get a hold of. Haven't seen anyone use them at all.

  32. Er, is anything wrong with it? I ask because (used gun + a hour of a decent tech's time) > new price About half of the content of Negative Airsoft on YouTube is Luke fixing guns that have been "serviced" by "techs". Specna Orion gearboxes are prone to cracking at the front. That's something you can look for yourself. If it happens, it happens, and it's time for a new shell or a complete new box. Internally, if it sounds OK and shoots OK, it probably is OK. Shimming and re-greasing is a reasonable idea, if it's done right. Replacing parts before they fail, I'm not convinced on, given the random QC of even "upgraded" parts. I'd just hate to see you fork over £50+ for some Skylar to either do nothing, or just spooge some lube in, or actually make it worse.

  37. I've done a few of this type of event, although not with op-tac. I prefer the longer engagements and more complex objectives. I've also found that they draw more experienced and honest players, less youtube fodder and better team/strategic play. I'm not one for uniforms and all that either, so i play in good, comfortable gear and clothing which features shades of gray, khaki and olive at best and couldn't meet a lot of milsim dress codes.

Here we have the evolution of my cheapie JG RPK bought off here from Hutt armouries few years ago. Iv had fun learning how to take this all part and work on it modernising it along the way. originally I was just going to replace the externals but straight away I could tell I’d need to upgrade the hop unit as the range was awful. things Iv replaced are JG Stock adaptor, LCT stock, CA upper and RS poly lower hand guard, pistol grip, LCT tactical selector, LCT drum magazine, TWI aluminium rails, combat union hop unit mapleaf macaron 50’ omega nub, CU air nozzle. I’ll upgrade the gearbox internals as and when they go. currently chrono’s 348-351 on 0.2s Lovely MG platform, lighter and more manoeuvrable than a belt fed.

  39. So... simulating the battle rather than the military ? That's a good idea, must widen the number of people who can potentially attend (although it'd lose the stitch counters, so ... swings 'n' roundabouts). I'd not have the appropriate kit for most of the mil-sim events I've seen discussed, I've kind of written them off as a thing I'd do. This could appeal.
    1 point
  40. The first part I'd recommend changing on an Edge is that quick-drop grip. Just about any £10 Ali Express replacement will be better. The Specna rotary units are pretty decent. A Maple Leaf rubber and nub work well, and that's about the easiest possible thing to do yourself. Your money, your choice, I'd just recommend being clear about what you want done to it, and why. "A service" can mean just about anything, or nothing.

Do you not feel that everyone should then be allowed to put their on their legs too? I mean I guess it would then make it super hard for you to know who to shoot.. oh wait....
