This is utter madness. It's 50:50 so you should probably respect that whilst your child is with their other parent, that parent has control over they think your son should or should not be looking at or watching. If you had banned or preferenced against something, I'm fairly sure you'd be extremely unimpressed if your Ex was trying to negate your rules and undermine you. Sorry if this is a harsh truth but you're coming across as a real ass by doing this and trying to hide it behind "your sons interests". This feels nothing more than trying to 1up your Ex.5 points

As the guys have said, while it's not pleasant for you, what your telling us isn't really for public consumption. As for what your son accesses via HER network, yep it's on her & in these time of mass shootings etc, unlikely you'll find any critics against her choices. So maybe you & your son stick to Airsoft stuff when your together only, anything else just gives her "ammo" to use against you, & when she throws religious beliefs in to the mix, that's just another bit of leverage against you that she'll easily exploit. Concentrate on placating her & getting your entitled access to your son. And they call them the weaker sex 😭💔4 points -

Been testing this for the past 4 weeks and so far hasn't broken. It's a fully mechanical ETU with 4 micro-arms. I've always been a little sceptical of these type of FET's due to the unreliability of the switches but this one is proving pretty decent so far. I'm organising a small test of these with 10 or 20 regular players later this week, hopefully will see if they last the distance and how serviceable these are. Price should be around £35 Will update the thread with the findings.3 points

Sorry to say it but her house, her rules and actively helping him to get around them will go wrong when she finds out, and she will find out, is only pouring oil on the fire. As others have posted, keep this sort of thing off public forums as it makes you both look like prime candidates for a spot on the Jeremy Kyle show3 points -
I have two ex's. One of which I don't speak with and one of which I am still living with (A very recent development and the reason why I have been very quiet forum wise). I would never air my grievances of my ex partners on a public forum. Keep it private, it's just not the done thing and reflects badly on you.3 points

A farmer stopped by the local mechanics shop to have his truck fixed. They couldn’t do it while he waited, so he said he didn’t live far and would just walk home. On the way home he stopped at the hardware Store and bought a bucket and a gallon of paint. He then stopped by the feed store and picked up a couple of chickens and a goose. However, struggling outside the store he now had a problem – how to carry his entire purchases home. While he was scratching his head he was approached by a little old lady who told him she was lost. She asked, ‘Can you tell me how to get to 1603 Mockingbird Lane’ The farmer said, ‘Well, as a matter of fact, my farm is very close to that house I would walk you there but I can’t carry this lot.’ The old lady suggested, ‘Why don’t you put the can of paint in the bucket. Carry the bucket in one hand, put a chicken under each arm and carry the goose in your other hand’ ‘Why thank you very much,’ he said and proceeded to walk the old girl home. On the way he says ‘Let’s take my short cut and go down this alley. We’ll be there in no time.’ The little old lady looked him over cautiously then said, ‘I am a lonely widow without a husband to defend me. How do I know that when we get in the alley you won’t hold me up against the wall, pull up my skirt, and have your way with me?’ The farmer said, ‘Holy smokes lady! I’m carrying a bucket, a gallon of paint, two chickens, and a goose. How in the world could I possibly hold you up against the wall and do that?’ The old lady replied…… ‘Set the goose down, cover him with the bucket, put the paint on top of the bucket, and I’ll hold the chickens2 points -

Hi, I'm from Nottingham UK, 42M, ex British Armed Forces, and a fairly new Airsoft player. I have played 3 times in Nottingham so far, have recently obtained my UKARA and purchased my first Airsoft Rifle (G&G CM16 Predator). Thought I'd just see what this community was all about. Maybe make some new friends along the way (who knows?). Feel free to say hi. 👋1 point -

A lady goes to her parish priest one day and tells him, "Father, I have a problem. I have two female parrots but they only know how to say one thing." "What do they say?" the priest inquired. "They say, 'Hi, we're prostitutes. Do you want to have some fun?'" the woman said embarrassingly. "That's obscene!" the priest exclaimed, "I can see why you are embarrassed." He thought a minute and then said, "You know, I may have a solution to this problem. I have two male parrots whom I have taught to pray and read the Bible. Bring your two parrots over to my house and we will put them in the cage with Francis and Job. My parrots can teach your parrots to praise and worship. I'm sure your parrots will stop saying that...that phrase in no time." "Thank you," the lady responded, "this may very well be the solution." The next day, she brought her female parrots to the priest's house. As he ushered her in, she saw his two male parrots were inside their cage, holding their rosary beads and praying. Impressed, she walked over and placed her parrots in with them. After just a couple of seconds, the female parrots exclaimed out in unison, "Hi, we're prostitutes. Do you want to have some fun?" There was a stunned silence. Finally, one male parrot looked over at the other male parrot and said, "Put the beads away, Francis, our prayers have been answered1 point -

Reforger: Operation Grimsky II
Skullchewer reacted to Jacob Wright for a topic
So… the write up! Initially there were potentially going to be 3-4 of the team at this event but a couple dropped out last minute and we only had 2 in the end. We were on the BEARS team throughout, and overall it was an enjoyable well thought out event. A quick overview - Op Grimsky II is a follow up from Op Grimsky I held at Reforger Airsoft near Watford. I guess it would be classed as a filmsim, based around ‘Escape from Tarkov’ (which I’ve never played). It was a 2 day game, with 3 teams (Scavs, Bears, USEC), with rolling objectives played across the whole site. Pre-event plenty of information was available on the website, on a Facebook Live video, and in the fortnight leading up to the game we had team chats on Facebook Messenger. Questions were answered quickly and efficiently by Luke. We quickly came to understand that we would be the smallest team present, with only 17 players booked on; which wasn’t an issue and nor do I feel it detracted from the experience. On arrival I think there were actually 14 of us, and by Sunday AM this dropped to 10, and then 7 by the end of the game. I’ve come to understand this as par for the course at weekenders; for various reasons people will always leave early, what can I say apart for I like to get my moneys worth! 😂 We arrived Saturday AM, paid our dues and our kit was moved to our designated camping area by 4x4 while we walked over. On arrival we decided to re-site ourselves in a wooded area so that we could set up a basha. Luke had no issue with this and we were left to set ourselves up. Chrono happened at this location shortly after. Following this we were given a succinct game brief as rules and a longer brief had been sent out beforehand. I really liked this way of doing it, there wasn’t much messing around and we were able to get almost straight into the game within an hour/90 minutes of arriving. As far as team dynamics went, we had 4 snipers in ghillies, and then 3 distinct teams of friends within the BEARS team. We were left to come up with our own plan for the event, and had agreed a comms plan in the week previous. Luke was also on this net to feed us objectives and intel. Again this worked really well, and allowed us to take ownership of the tactics and operate with pretty much total freedom. Throughout the event our snipers would spot, track and ambush targets, and the squads would carry out coordinated attacks and ambushes. By the Sunday we’d got very good at this and it showed in the speed with which we were able to wipe out enemy squads. I can take or leave roleplaying at airsoft events, but with an almost dedicated team for this (Scavs) we were able to interact as much or as little as necessary. As a newcomer to ‘Tarkov’ the concept of ‘loot’ was new to me, but not difficult to understand or introduce into play. I will admit that we got quite frustrated after hiding a load of top tier loot under a pallet in the woods, only to find it had been stolen about 2 hours later 😬😂 after this we were much more inventive with our hiding techniques, and it paid off in the end! The loot we acquired could be stashed or traded with the in game trader; it was a nice dynamic which I think worked well although didn’t really have much to do with. It ranged from different coloured bottle caps, to 30mm rounds, keycards, bitcoin and ammunition crates. The only ongoing complaint which we had as a team was that at times we felt as though objectives and intel were coming through a bit slowly. We would find ourselves having to create tasks for a few hours (at one point we set up an OP and sat in a bush for an hour, but it was a nice break to be fair 😂) before an objective would happen, but having managed events in the past I appreciate the burden of having to provide objectives and intel for 3 separate teams. When the objectives did come they were mostly good fun and straightforward to achieve. The only other slight criticism would be team colours. It was an odd mix which wasn’t in line with the normal milsim Woodland vs Tan, which did lead to some confusion sometimes; although mostly in our favour because we were wearing green and USEC kept thinking we were Scavs and not firing on us immediately! We did miss the message about the night game on the Saturday evening and whilst on our own little patrol stumbled upon what we thought was an attack, but turned out to be an organised night game … sorry for shooting those people involved who obviously weren’t expecting us to appear outside their night game boundaries! Through gaining information from the Scavs we (eventually) learned that in order to escape Tarkov we needed to keep and not trade away our keycards. Luckily we had one ‘stashed’ at our FOB, and were able to retrieve this in the last hour to facilitate our extraction! I could bash on about every small detail of the event but I don’t think it necessary. To sum up, it was well planned, organised and delivered. Perhaps in future a few more objectives and little bit more intel could be added in, but I certainly wouldn’t be out off attending again and look forward to what Luke has planned for the future!1 point -

We use some fancy things, but we use them as event organisers & give access to players (we might let players directly operate things or we might have staff operating them on behalf of players) If the site is happy then you can use your own - and you retain full liability Drones are a tricky one - it can be an offence to fly a drone over people, look into the types, sizes etc and permissions etc Its a bad thing when a drone gets shot down onto players (It’s also a bad thing for the player who shoots an event drone on camera being recognised by the operator and their unique balls being left embedded in the drones polystyrene body shell) The suitcase here gives players sight of drone and/or RC cameras and the switches to control devices carried by drone and/or RC car. Players are more likely to be allowed to drive the RC car then to fly the drone. Our ‘pilot’ would operate the drone We have various other gadgets to play with1 point

For the underlying causes - they won’t be resolved until they are resolved Its a bad thing to have him played between the two of you and even worse to have him see you attempting to bypass her 1) Are the blockers explicit or implicit? On the basis of explicit being that she has placed blocks on words or implicit that she has put in place parental controls that are overarching with default words blocked or sites blocked due to their content settings If she has really made explicit blocks then it won’t be resolved without going through the issues and then having the limits eased If she has set implicit blockers then she may be willing to release some in the settings, or willing to give him authorised time with the controls turned off in her presence 2) alternatives such as tethering would bypass the blocks, but will kill his low data and be a cause of more problems between you all1 point

You can only just about get black anodising to match, you'll often not get it even between the same company's batches of tan let alone different manufacturers haha. Bits of mis-matching as a result of periodic upgrades and accessory swaps are a sign of something getting actually used, it's a good look that you can't fake out of the gate, has to be built up over years to be convincing.1 point

This isn't announced anywhere else yet, but I'm happy to say that Tactical-Kit have purchased a small batch from me, so these will finally be available on home turf (in a couple of weeks or so). I set my wholesale price pretty damn low tbh and because they're so light they're relatively cheap to ship in bulk, so while sadly the £ price is higher than the $ one Americans get, it is going to work out in the region of £15-20 cheaper to buy from TK than to pay the shipping and import taxes yourself if you ship the Hub alone, which overall I think is a decent result considering the distance from the sewing machine to a shop England. They only exist in MC and RG so far but hopefully that will cater to the majority, if they sell well then other colours may come to TK over the course of the next year or so, depending what they want to buy from me. Obviously for a placard this is the top end of the market and if you don't run a Tubes'd up rig/G-Hook PC/762 AK I wouldn't blame a soul for getting the Spiritus Mk5 instead which is bloody close in terms of quality, but if you want those Tubes and absolute maximum modularity from a British company (military owned, if that is something you're in to), then maybe take a look.1 point

Acetach Blaster Review
Kevin Chang reacted to NeonMidnight for a topic
So I have had the Acetach Brighter C for a while. It was definitely worth the money and lived up too the reputation. I show up to every game knowing I have the brightest tracer there. Other than just being cool it makes it easy to see my BBs when several people are firing at the same time. Muzzle flash tracers have become really popular and most people at my site. So I decided to go in for the upgrade and just got the Blaster in the post yesterday. It comes with a standard 14mm CCW thread and a 11mm pistol adapter in the box. The construction is really good. Its feel a lot better built than my old tracer and is made of some kind of strong metal alloy. I don't doubt that it will take some hits without breaking. I really like the aggressive but stealthy design. It's also still surprisingly light and small and doesn't really affect my speed and manoeuvrability. Just like the Brighter C this comes with an internal battery and a USB charging cable. I really hope this is the future for all attachments. Its so much easier than trying to keep hard to find batteries around. I'm defiantly willing to pay for the feature. When you unscrew the back you find the USB charging port and a small button. The button can be used to turn the tracer on and off as well as as change the firing mode. The Blaster also comes with a sleep mode to save on power when you are not using it. You just shake to unit to wake it up. There are 3 firing modes. Tracer, Flame and Tracer & Flame mode. So you can just use the tracer or muzzle flash separately if you wish. The tracer like with all Acetech stuff is very bright. Just as bright as the Brighter C. I do like shooting green blots of lightning. The muzzle flash in Flame mode is this nice realistic bright orange. Apparently it gets even brighter when you use it with a gas pistol or in a foggy situation. Using the Tracer with the Flame mode together is amazing. I had loads of fun just firing rounds off last night in the dark. I can't wait to take it too a dark game and really see what it's like in combat. I really like the look, weight and small size. Perfect for me as I play a lot of QCB. The internal battery is a luxury I'm starting to feel like I can't do without. Then actually using it it just fun and outright cool. I would defiantly recommend it for any player and will be keeping it for a while.1 point -

Playairsoft – a Crowd-sourced List of UK Airsoft Sites
Kaz888 reacted to shadowfacex for a topic
I’ve been working on this project for a few weeks, where I’ve started to gather info on airsoft sites from all over the UK. I have built a database of these and created a website where you can browse and find information about these sites, all in one convenient place. PlayAirsoft UK People who want to have a website for their airsoft locations/clubs are not generally well versed in information architecture and they don’t typically have a budget to spend on professional services to make their websites or even basic information well designed and accessible. I'm hoping to take this burden off their shoulders and give them solid tools join in on the action without much fuss. I was annoyed that there was no central place with more info about nearby sites so I could pick one for my next weekend. PlayAirsoft is an answer to this and other issues. The functionality is currently limited because I only just started, but the info is solid; I’ve spent hours scavenging and verifying all the information about the sites you'll see there. There aren’t a lot locations as of right now, but I'm hoping that with your help, we can have a universal place to find more sites. If you have a favourite airsoft location that isn’t listed or know a site owner, use the link below to suggest a new site to be listed. All submissions are reviewed beforehand, as I would like to have the most accurate info on these places as possible. https://airtable.com/shrpMw7Xx1UiVErke Feel free to use this topic as a way to provide feedback, suggestions, and report issues. I’m hoping that PlayAirsoft will provide you with a reliable and accessible way to plan your next airsoft adventure. Enjoy and let me know what you think!1 point -
CQB training course
EvilMonkee reacted to Druid799 for a topic
I’ve always been a believer in that if someone is offering any kind of military based training course that the public can attend and it doesn’t cost hundred pounds(training with someone who has time served experience isn’t cheap no matter what field it’s in)then there’s a VERY good chance the person running it is either a walt or bloater . I’ve family and friends who’ve spent yrs working for big international security companies that are also involved in training others and I’m pretty sure none of the ‘bonafide’ companies would have anything to do with training Joe public AND they charged thousands for their courses . What it comes down too is the guys who could train you do this properly from their own personal experience are already getting payed mega bucks to do it for a big company somewhere , they don’t need to run Mickey Mouse courses that anyone can attend for a couple of quid . As lots have said just YouTube the crap out of it and I’m sure you’ll substantially up your game just by doing that . 👍1 point
