Personally, I don't particularly mind myself or others wearing Russian gear in games. How many modern armies are completely innocent? Is the US military doing good in various Middle Eastern countries? But fans of American gear are still the most numerous. The difference in my opinion is that the US is prepared with good sounding reasons and excuses.4 points

Stonking day at special ops yesterday, beautiful weather, a more reasonable player count of around 60 people meant there was more chance to push, and reasonably balanced teams all added up to a good day Personally I had some tech issues.. I brought my new Tippmann HPA M4 along, expecting to actually use that for the whole day, but ended up not using it at all - instead the trusty Double Eagle M906c was my choice throughout. And I got a mountain of kills with it, thanks to it reaching out a decent distance and me getting in some good positions or just being outright reckless with some pushes with some hip-fire suppression as I attacked. Possibly my best day of Airsoft since I started playing again in November ☺️3 points -

Had a good day at Spartan CQB in chippenham yesterday. Morning started with around 50 people, at least 25 of which were rental players. As per usual with rentals, we were finding a LOT of folks not calling hits. Marshalls were really good at enforcing it when they saw any issues, so much so, we could constantly hear "you're hit", "you're hit" from the Marshalls. After lunch gameplay was spot on though, 20 of the rentals left during lunch. We were down to around 30 players, suddenly everyone was calling hits, play was a LOT better. All in all a good day.3 points

An awesome first day back at Worthing airsoft after about 4 years away. I took a few guns out for their first games, my tac 41, VFC MP7 and TM USP c and took the bullpup ak out for the first time in ages. Overall, no complaints. Once the ho bedded in and I dialed in the hop and scope I was nailing people with the tac 41 from way out of their range with .4s. The USP c also ran flawlessly and got a couple of good kills with it. The MP7 was a little disappointing in the morning at the range but once it warmed up it was actually pretty good. I didn't manage to use it in a game though as I only had the one mag. The AK didn't pass chrono but I think that was because of some stray .2s in the mag. I'm not complaining though as it encouraged me to use the sniper. I played a bit too aggressively at first and got shot a lot but as it settled and I started to trust it more I was able to push the ranges further. My absolute highlight was flanking hard to the south side right at the bottom of the site. I got behind the enemy held objective and cleared it out single handedly. I pushed in with a couple of others and we captured it with 30 seconds to go, winning the game for our team. I thought I'd gotten away relatively unscathed right up until I got nailed in the head by a sniper in the final 2 minutes. He came over and apologized after but I was all laughs about it.3 points -

Ouch! Our usual blood sacrifice was off today so I think you pulled the short straw 😂 Great day at Worthing. Smaller turnout than usual and a fair few left towards the end of the day making the teams quite small. Honestly I thought it was great, it adds a new dynamic to the field. For some reason our team had about 8 snipers on it though, but everything was still very balanced, it was quite back and forth all day thanks to a lot of the objectives requiring pushing into and area and holding it. Blues made some good pushes after a few encouraging words from some of the players. I managed to eat s*&% jumping a branch on game start. On the plus side, my gun can take a bit of a fall and keep working! What was actually much worse was taking cover behind a tree, only for my knees to find every single chestnut shell on the damn site, the one time I don't bring knee pads 😭 That was due to my newly made ghillie trousers! I also did a bit more crafting on the suit. Much fun, much invisibility. I think my summer ghillie with what I've learned is going to be excellent Unfortunately my red dot died while I was in some great close range spots which made things a bit harder. We also t6ook my friend's brother out for his first game too and he had a great time, so the squad grows! All in all, a great day as usual. Next weekend I've got a private game at the ucap bunker in portsmouth, so that should bring some great stories!2 points -

Thing is, given where he is operating from, I am really surprised someone hasnt had a words with a few of the local paramilitaries. Thats how it used to be when I was growing up. True story - I was 18 and we lived on a really rough estate. One summer there was a chip van came and parked in the parking area to the rear of our house. Loads of anti social behaviour ensued, litter, rowdy teens etc. Someone (probably my Mum) had a word with the local UDA commander. I watched from my back window as three men in balaclavas got out of a car with an AK and a handgun, robbed the place then burnt it to the ground. No more problem.2 points -

I had them added. Jim at LC's engineering did them for me on mine and a mate's one. they were the first ones he did so he spent wuite a bit of time getting fonts etc as close as he could to the referance pictures I sent him. Have to say I am very pleased with the result. I've added real steel grips and the small single safety for a more specific look.2 points

Custom Pistol Build Thread
Paul H reacted to frontsight for a topic
I really enjoy creating custom builds based on real-steel counterparts, and take a lot of inspiration from what other airsofters have built. I can't seem to find any dedicated pistol threads here; so I'm starting a thread where we can share some customized pistols. Curious to see all of your cool custom pistol builds, so feel free to show off some of your one-of-a-kind handguns! ---------------------------------------- I'll kick it off with a recently finished build. Based it off a "bowling pin" 1911 that's used in competitive shooting circles. -> https://www.thearmorylife.com/bowling-with-a-pistol-a-guide-to-pin-shooting/ These types of handguns are usually older, base model 1911's retrofitted with all the modern upgrades such as adjustable sights, and ridiculous compensators. Did some research and found that this was a style of 1911 popularized in the 70's~90's by people like Bill Wilson (Wilson Combat). Think of it as what resto-modding older cars are, just for guns. Started off as a basic MEU with a guarder slide and frame, but now complete with a commander-style hammer, tung oil finished wood grips with custom cutouts, and compensator. I've also upgraded all the internals such as the BBU and sears/disconnectors. Pretty much done at this point but I might throw on a ridiculously long inner barrel to match the length of the comp. Otherwise, looks as massive as it does in the pics and shoots like a dream Tried reverse-crowning the barrel while waiting for the comp to arrive. A gunsmithing technique where the barrel is cut inwards at an angle, used to increase accuracy. Pretty sure doesn't work on airsoft outer barrels but still, looks cool as hell Real steel pin-shooting 1911:1 point -

http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=634_223&products_id=33856 if you have £1k to spare, and can handle proprietary designs that don't have cross compatibility with other aftermarket parts, Nova does make an RMR p-DPO. I want a cool 2011 too but not brave enough to pull that trigger... Otherwise the marui DOR hi capa seems to be the closest lookalike option. Just squint a little when you look at it and you can make any gun look like something you want 😂1 point -

Spent the day at Red1 Cheselhurst today. First time out this year. What a great start for the year. Looks like the chill and clouds and small drizzle kept the hoards away only about 40 of us. Excellent numbers for this site. There was a large group of rentals, about 10 or so, marshals from the off went over and told them they were being split so they could shoot each other. Another excellent piece of marshaling in my opinion as it gave balance to the smaller teams. Hit taking great (over all - there were comments from the rentals that the rentals were not taking all hits) overall. Red1 have a shinny piece of kit - a bomb set up with multi function. They used this on a number of games which worked well. Only gripe about the site and how the day was was run was that the game briefs were lacking in some detail, with marshal distracted having to stop himself to stop other people talking during them. Mentioned this to the head (I think) marshal and he was already thinking ahead on how to fix the issue for next time round. Airsofters, being airsofters they were not the quickest getting out of the safezone for games despite the Red1 staff being vocal and trying to conjoule the players out quickly It might be 90mins by public transport but so far it has 2/2 good shooting days1 point -

UPDATE:I bought a Turbo trainer(used it twice),then an opportunity arose for me to take on a menial job with the local council="Litter operative" easy~ish work with a lot of walking involved and I'm glad to say it is doing me the world of good.Only a week in and I can definately feel an improvement in my mobility and pain.Still not good with jumping impact but that's gone and I need to work around it.And the best part is I played the Sunday (20/03) before I started the job, fearing the worst but it's all working out fine.As I suspected it was/is lack of use that was causing the mobility and pain issues. Also I discovered that perhaps footwear is part of the issue,I wore boots for 4 days them swapped to safety trainers for 1 day and the difference is great.I may wear them at my next walk-on but I need to be wary of ankle support. Thanks for all the replies and advice...1 point

Hello everyone, I'm Cocha and I'm an new player. I'm based in Italy, but I've chosen to join this community because I generally prefer to confront myself with international points of view as Italian forums tend to be a bit close-minded. I hope being from outside UK won't be a problem for the community. As for myself I just started, I already have bought my first gun (an old and used Tokyo Marui MC51) but I'm a sucker for P90's and looking for a good one, preferably used. Cheers!1 point -

Skullchewer reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
I've not been there yet. @Musica has been a few times. From what I understand, it's currently quite... intense. The site is huge, but only a small part of it has been developed so far, and the games can hinge on who holds the choke point in each game. It's very dark and a torch will be very helpful. The site owner Jonno knows his stuff and they're constantly improving the site. If you have any issues during the day, I would encourage you to take it up with the marshals and Jonno in a positive and constructive way. I'll likely be there sometime in April after they stop with the Spy-n-Snitch theatre.1 point -
Welcome back to the mad house! As said above, the main change is the performance of the guns. You can get a lot better for a lot cheaper now, and I'm still amazed at the difference from when I started about 17 years ago; my Cyma m14 build probably cost me around £200ish and would outshoot a lovingly upgraded sniper rifle from back in the mid 2000s. From 7 years ago, the laws haven't changed. Still need to get a UKARA registration by playing 3 games in at least 2 months to buy guns. Hope you enjoy your return to the hobby!1 point
-
Hey Alec, welcome back 🖐 I don't know what things were like 20 years ago but I suspect not much has changed with the game itself. The actual equipment (guns) have surely improved in all aspects since then and probably become cheaper. The easiest way to get registered as an airsofter is to rent for 3 games at a single site where they will put you on the UKARA register. Then you can buy RIFs (realistic) guns. Do lots of reading on the forum for other bits of info. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts once you get back into it...1 point

Just finished another weathered paint job. This is 'Starry'*. I wanted it to look like it's been dug up out of a Ukrainian garden after 20 years and recalled to active service... and I think it worked. 😁 Method: I stripped it back to bare metal, primed and repainted black so that when the paint inevitably chips, it's exposes the metal. I then used acrylic rust colours from brown to orange, dabbed on with foam in patches. The whole lot was then covered in an uneven textured 'technical' acrylic to give it the caked-up finish. The wood was sanded to remove the top layer then I used an aggressive sanding brush disc to carve runs into it. It was then doused in an oil-coloured acrylic wash to make it look distressed and a bit rotten. Finally, it was airbrushed with layers of matte varnish and chipping agent. Long live the 'Kraine! 🇺🇦 *Real name 'staryy brudnyy svoloch' (старий брудний сволоч) which is Ukrainian for 'Old Dirty Bastard'.1 point -
