From what I understand, he's claimed that "metal & plastic wear out" which is how the tan rail ended up being painted black, the hop unit changing & bluetac appearing in it. Luke6 points -
@MGMGrand your intentions may be good but your attitude sucks , if you want people to help the Ukraine defend its self against the Russian invasion insulting and belittling them certainly won’t help you . Wind the attitude in and you ‘may’ get a better response off the members on here . the comments about none AK guns in use are rather puerile at best , the people who would need kit are the ones joining the territorial defence forces , if anyone can show me a picture of a single one of these patriots NOT armed with an AK I’ll happily say “sorry I’m wrong your right” . Yes it is being done with the best intentions but sending your Chinese knock-off ‘glow in the dark’ multi-sham M4 plate carrier isn’t going to help neither is your Airsoft helmet(I’ve seen it happen for real , people send stuff to an emergency situation with the best intentions but the kit was just no use and ended up clogged up the logistics areas) . Good intentions are just that but these people are fighting for their very existence so if you’ve got quality multi-platform gear(good condition surplus gear/Blackhawk !/Eagle/crye/etc etc) to send then yes send it it certainly will help but if the kit you have and want to donate isn’t what they need then don’t send it and donate some money to the red cross instead . simple as that really .5 points

Kit for the Ukraine .
Tactical Pith Helmet and 3 others reacted to Tackle for a topic
Personally I disagree with sending any kit, the Ukrainian military has its own equipment (as well as what nato has supplied), the idea of sending pc's etc., irrespective of the brands, will be pointless if there's no armour to put in it. As for mag carrying, better of with a decent quality satchel or similar, the only real hope for the untrained volunteer masses will be harassment & interdiction, essentially hit & run, traditionally in history those that operate in this manner, the ability to blend in to the population afterwards will make more of a difference than just looking the part. Harsh when we're discussing "charitable donations" but true unfortunately 🤔4 points -
I like the idea but unless you are willing to donate actual military surplus kit that is based on supporting the AK platform donating knock off Chinese gear with pouches for an armalite is going to do more harm than good.4 points

Brilliant day at Skirmish Wycombe, made better by the l fact I captured the bomb! Bumped into a forum member whose forum name I'm fucked if I can remember. Nice bloke. Also ran into @GAMBLE who got a melee kill on some guy with a kids light saber 🤣🤣 And then there was this guy, who at the end of the day stood out so we could all shoot him in the shiny helmet.3 points -

Just dropped by to farm dopamine from virtue signalling about being the respectfulmost supporter of some pretty SSketchy characters, I guess. If you do want to render some Russian conscript too terrified to pull the trigger at the sight of your Viper chest rig, I'd check out the local drop off points carefully. The one nearest to me appears to be just a rando wanting to be given military surplus, but apparently has no plan to get it to Ukraine. Bear in mind that Stephen Glennies exist.2 points -

Aup pal. I totally agree with what your saying. Its a joke that hes still going strong in regards of still scamming, im currently waiting now as HE has 'assured' me that all my stuff is getting posted back to me tomorrow. Which obviously will not happen, he said the same thing last monday right before i contacted the police about the whole matter, if he doesnt send them back tomorrow then the police are getting called as they advised me to do and they can theb do something as hes on their radar from previous. Lesson learnt on my behalf now in the future im going to be buying and selling locally in person from now on. Thanks again for your reply, all the replys mean alot.2 points

Even if it's sorted over here sorting through it will cause unnecessary delays. You'll do more good donating things like medical supplies or ration packs No. Just people who can see that, while the sentiment is good, the idea isn't. As for your Russian bots comment, that's just childish and silly considering you're the relatively new guy with a total of 4 posts and everyone else commenting are long time members who post regularly2 points -

Hi I am relatively new discoverer of airsoft being a former full bore pistol ticket holder many moons ago. Is there anyone local to Launceston Cornwall interested in a small outdoor range-I have the space and I started with some aluminium sheet suspended on wire targets and I have now bought a number of Hutt Imports IPSC style targets(which are excellent pieces of kit by the way if not difficult to hit!) I found an Action Air Cornwall on Facebook but got no reply and it would just be more interesting with others for ideas and layouts, Many thanks Peter2 points

First thought on seeing those prices is 'a fool and his money are soon parted', but there are presumably enough people out there who are money rich and time poor, who don't have the time to research and tinker to achieve similar results on their own, which probably makes this endeavour worthwhile for Patrol Base. When I started out in airsoft I baulked at the prices for some (toy) guns, and didn't mind gutting internals of lower end stuff and fettling to make them shoot as well or better than more expensive stuff. But now having made the grave error of growing up, and having too many children and other responsibilities eating away at my time, I don't mind forking out for something a bit pricier that doesn't require completely overhauling to be satisfied with. Not £1.4k though.2 points -

maybe so ain't seen any on the news but there is a shit load of AK variants. it's not about counting stiches it's about sending crap that will fall apart on the poor sod that gets issued it1 point

has the seller been upfront about the storage in the advertisement? and if not, do they have any basis to justify not doing so (eg test firing to ensure function etc)? perhaps initially messaging them and asking them to mention it in the ad might be a better route than calling them out? at least as a starting point.1 point -

My understanding is that while the L119 A2 has been seen with this style can ,the later version without the weld bead and a different locking collar is more common for the A2 (more like the Angry Gun one) . I'll probably do a bit of work on the 'weld' and do a bit of paint on the can, but it'll basically stay black to match the RIF 'cos #Black Guns Matter !1 point

As you prefer plain speaking, I'll be absolutely clear: if you pay someone else that much to build you a toy gun to play pretend soldiers with, you're a complete and utter mental case. Genuinely not right in the head, and probably going to end up as the subject in a page 5 regional news story involving a domestic tragedy. No caveats, no nuance, no exceptions, no apologies.1 point -

Any 1911 fans out there? Here's the latest build that I tried. It won't be replacing my glock for skirmishes anytime soon, but a cool build nonetheless.. Did you know people do bowling with 1911's? Apparently it's called "pin shooting" and there are specific styles of 1911's catered to that. Here's the post that inspired this build -> https://www.thearmorylife.com/bowling-with-a-pistol-a-guide-to-pin-shooting/ Wanted to get a short compensator like the real-steel examples in the article, but couldn't find any similar so I went with a 45" muzzle chamfer instead. With the looser tolerances of airsoft it doesn't look as blended to the bushing as RS, but I think I like it. I had to learn the hard way that stainless takes a lot longer than you think to grind out using hand tools...😅 In certain angles it makes the bore of the outer barrel look bigger than it actually is some real-steel examples that I referenced:1 point -

Inner Barrel Replacement Recommendations
S Porteous reacted to Fatboy40 for a topic
Are we talking longer than 400mm? Will you be using heavy BBs as well? The reason I ask is that I recently went longer as well, and went with a Maple Leaf AEG barrel + their MR hop and Omega nub, and the two work together so well (the MR patch fits perfectly in their barrel) and seem to be able to put the right amount of spin on really heavy BBs.1 point -
Blimey, can't believe I'm seeing this name come up again. He's been scamming longer than I can remember so I'd certainly bet he's gotten incredibly good at it by now, had more than enough experience to be a real pro. Won't help much I know, but I wouldn't feel anything negative about the fact you thought he was genuine. As has been said here and a million times before (addressing all potential readers) - never ever ever undertake any transaction of any kind without paying the few extra £ to paypal. Normally I tell retailers in a polite way to get bent when they offer the 'extra insurance cover' bla bla bla, but with person to person business while the risk is actually low in the grand scheme of things it's just not worth the risk. Especially if you're on a budget and aren't conducting many transactions overall.1 point

I usually wear a crotched prayer cap and a sweat band that gets changed two or three times a day. Think I'll possibly re-think the idea. My current lid is one of these less than a tenner jobs from TW: https://www.taiwangun.com/tactical-helmet/replica-of-mich2000-helmet-version-light-coyote-8fields The padding is adjustable and its pretty comfy. My lad fell through a window a few years back in one and whacked his noggin on a concrete floor. He is still with us, so it does give some limited bump protection.1 point -

Help Sending Pistol To Ireland
Jacob Wright reacted to Tommikka for a topic
Not necessarily so these days Thanks to those who falsely declared in the past, regulations cover ‘pressure vessels’ as opposed to ‘pressurised’ If routes include air mail then they cannot carry pressure vessels It all comes down to the specifics of prohibited and restricted items, you need a method that handles it as restricted and to comply with the requirements1 point -

Druid799 reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Replaced the sling attachment on my F2000 with a couple of straps from this and all the securing sliders, plus a couple of metal D-rings, to make this ... which seems to be working pretty well. I originally had the d-rings at the top of the stock, but actually that made the sling get in the way when shouldering the gun, so I re-jigged it to the current position. Because of the extra webbing inserted into the buckles to support the d-rings, the sling slots in the stock don't seem to be under undue pressure, so I'm not afraid of the plastic struts breaking. And an added bonus is I don't need to use the hex bolt to keep the butt plate on now, so battery changes will be easier. For an added Brucie-bonus, it also looks a lot more like the BF4 setup (in spirit, at least)1 point
