Also have to take in to consideration how ham fisted you are with the trigger , I’ve seen players run through thousands of BBs in a game and I’d be surprised if their guns even make 4mths let alone 6-9 or even 12mths ! Where as I’ve got a couple of TM recoils (as has one of my team mates as well)that are easily over 12yrs old but as I run predominantly single only there still running fine AND still totally stock bar a deans instead of a tamiya . The longevity of your kit does come down to how you treat it as well3 points

Devils advocate: Maybe this person can't join up for reasons beyond their control (medical grounds, disabilities or age for instance) but wishes to live out this fantasy in the nearest way possible. I say go for it, dress up. If you felt obligated to do so you could explain to those who look concerned/disgruntled as to why you're in the attire you've chosen. Show them your best "war face" and kill them all. Live your dream. Enjoy it and have fun. Just don't wear medals, take the role too seriously or use corps/regiment/branch slang/try to pass off as a genuine. Its not like you're walking around in public like this (which is wrong and would bring your integrity, morales and respect into question). Oh, almost forgot......take your hits.3 points -

Finally… The cm16 showed up the other day, from bullseye country sport as no one else had them in stock. The service there has been spot on so far incidentally! As well as the proprietory g&g 400rd hi cap I got four of the 200rd battleaxe mid cap mags too, I’m one of those who hates winding mags with a passion😂😂 They’re slightly longer than normal STANAG mags and as such only just fitted into the plce pouches but give a great capacity for skirmishes. Asg speed loader too and now waiting for next payday so I can grab a titan li-ion battery for it. Got a carry handle from another member on here as I think it gives the gun a little more purpose to its look 🤔3 points -

Unless the gun is dead out the box warranties are pretty much worhless as trying to prove it wasn't user error is well difficult. Next question have you modified it in anyway as that would invalidate any warranty even its just changing the connectors. It would be nice if airsoft guns were universally reliable and long lasting but even the high end guns are just cheap toys for what they are expected to actually do.2 points

I understand exactly where you're coming from. I love my MWS and the way you need to discipline yourself to only take the shots you think you can hit, the immersion of reloading under fire etc. However, GBBRs, even the mighty MWS can be temperamental and suffer with performance anxiety, especially this time of year in the UK. Having a backup AEG ready to go is recommended, just in case.2 points

@Mr. No_Face aye balls deep for sure. After playing and using the rentals I knew I loved the game but... one of the main fascinations I have with firearms is the mechanical beauty of them. How everything works with each other and you can hear parts clink and tink as they engage and move etc.. so for me it had to be a GBBR. As well as he realism factor of the mag counts was another reason. When I played with hi cap rentals I would be counting my shots and imagining reloading etc. And then finally the recoil and noise.. with almost zero feedback from an aeg and the zzzt sound was just not pleasing. The GBBR platform offers everything else on top of what hooked me into playing.2 points

What is reasonable wear and tear for an airsoft RIF?
Paul72 and one other reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
guess they don't need to warranty a gun if it got burned by a battery that couldn't take it. not gonna lie, i'd rather a shredded piston than a battery fire any day of the week. which probably explains why my shredded piston collection is a thing but my burned battery collection isn't.....2 points -
So at £210 and in stock new, do we make that £140 for the used RIF and hi-cap and.... £30 each for the "brand new" (used) mid-caps?2 points

My first brand new AEG was back in 2004, was a G&G LR300S, cost around £500 to get it shipped from Redwolf HK, broke on 1st game. I would have loved 14 outings in 6 months 🙂 In all seriousness QC has got better but not to the point where I'd personally trust one not to develop a fault within the 1st 6 month - just so much to go wrong. That's just my own personal view, as @Rogerborg states there's nothing stopping you asking your payment processor to initiate a chargeback.2 points

i did meet a 1903 in the local brick and mortar a while back (read: several years) and it felt pretty nice (dunno what brand it was mind). good thing with that option is you'll more easily be able to get an appropriate sidearm compared to trying to find a webley/nagant. couldn't say what brand it was but seemed solid enough. the only thing with the gas variants is they seem to run short bolt throws, which i'm personally not too much of a fan of.2 points -

whilst the never fired line is bs, i mean if you've never fired it how would you know if it worked or not? however generally airsoft warranties do tend to have the issue that the way we use our pews means sellers are very conscious about how feasible it is for a malfunction to be user error. it's why you have the whole "11.1v ready" malarkey, it's not that guns without that rating can't run perfectly well on 11.1v, it's just a way of getting out of a potential claim. i swear this is the only reason mini tamiya is still a thing......2 points -
Finally received my first load out 😁 super happy with it. Had a little plink in the garden last night and my face lit up brighter than the tracer! and picked and plucked some foam too. Yeah the greens/browns defo looking better in the light. Still think a general darkening might help it out. But the patterning for sure looks good, and i'm liking the preservation of details like the grip/trigger/upper/screw heads rather than the "fuck it, spray the whole thing" approach you so often see.1 point -

I'd have the separating lines of tan still there (though thinner than most of the others), it was just easier to use Paint.Net's Re-Colour feature to slap it together quickly. As for an overcoat... yes I could get a translucent black or brown and cover the whole thing to tone it down... so that's a good idea and I'll think about that too Edit: Here's a pic with everything in place, all the tape off, most of the annoying overruns fixed... and in natural light. I've got a skirmish on Saturday, I'm going to play that game with it as-is, see how it fits in / sticks out like a sore thumb at the site. I have to say the greens and browns come out a lot better in the sunlight, I'm feeling a bit more content with it now1 point -

I doubt it looking at it. Sears are usually smooth faced. I think that the Hamster is right (yet again), they look more like spring guide retainers. You never know though without stripping one down. The horizontal faces on the two half rounds look like they may connect. Anyhow... I've dropped onto a wooden stocked Snow Wolf K98. Thanks @EvilMonkee for the info. I read up tonight and some Soviet units were issued captured K98s, so my WWII loadout is complete weapon wise too. спасибо товарищ!1 point -

a few queries about the air nozzle on my aeg!
Ben Allmond reacted to johnnyj for a topic
The nozzle is attached to a tappet plate that's spring loaded , on your gear you have a pin that pulls back the tappet plate so your next bb is in place in the hop unit , once the gear releases the tappet its forced forward creating a seal behind the bb so when the piston moves forward you should have no airloss. Look for a v2 gearbox animation on youtube1 point -

When you play squash, you charge around a small walled court, smashing in to the walls and skirmming your racket a long the floor. As such squash players know they can't get a refund after one game, let alone sixteen. IMO, it's a long the same lines with an Airsoft gun. As soon as you take the tags off and throw it around the woods, their obligation ends.1 point -

I've been so preoccupied getting my MWS set up, I'd neglected my NGRS 416. A quick trip across the border to Kingdom of Airsoft for a service, a little power and gearbox tweak, and it's fantastic again.1 point -
Loads of advice in this post. It's well worth your time to read as much as you can as most of your questions will have been answered, especially if you're new to the platform. It's never a bad idea to try something as it is, straight out of the box before considering upgrades. One thing I found from reading 200+ pages of this before I received mine, is that the MWS needs very little doing to it, if anything, to be fantastic. You'll find the majority of 'upgrades' people do are external.1 point

Replacing my cheapo ASG Balance charger with a recognised good 'un, the SkyRC T100, because my Titan battery decided to die on me. Not sure if I had a short in my AK, but it blew the internal fuse. I've got a replacement coming under warranty and I might as well charge it up on a better charger from the off. Bought the Deans cable and a couple of balance charger extender leads too.1 point -

Not necessarily, I turned up at a site years ago, & a team turned up, teens & early twenties, total shower of shit bar one, he claimed to have previously been TA & still had access to berets & cap badges, so in his infinite wisdom thought would mark them out as a team if they all wore them. Thing is, it was my regiments beret & badge, I worked hard for mine & I'd had a couple of mates die wearing theirs, so seeing a bunch of long haired wankers make absolute cnuts of themselves in them really fucked me off, & I told them so🤬. While that situation is rare, my experience shows it can happen, so I'd always tell people in threads like this, be careful, act with respect & if in doubt, don't do it.1 point
