Problem I have with hoods/snoods/scarves/etc is I sweat like a pig in a Synagogue so I get rather ‘moist’ wearing any kind of cloth face pro , I tried a friends Delta but even with it being made of mesh cloth I was still soaking by end of the game , where as him has no problem at all(matter of fact I’ve been trying to find a way to see if the fecker is an android he sweats that little ! 🤫)3 points

THE TM MWS thread
Paul72 and 2 others reacted to PewPewLoki for a topic
Ha, I didn't even get as far as the not-allowing-a-full-fill issue. The brass centre pin would fall out of the threaded housing and either into the gas chamber in the mag, or out into a muddy field... I've just measured up my TM and SAA mags and whaddya know? It does sit higher. I know what this evening's shenanigans will be. Nice try! I already spent more money than I'd care to recount on 10 TM mags, 5 SAAs and 5 G&P 'stendos. I'll let someone else foot that bill...3 points -

You know what I mean, for us spray'n'pray types I must be a gigachad, the full size OneTigris extends about 1/2-3/4" below my (second?) chin, but that's fine for me. I will recommend the smaller size to my mate who still plays without anything protecting his teeth (silly boy)3 points -

If I'm not making mask I always recommend the smaller one tigris. The length of the standard over shoot most people's chin which is annoying when you look down and it hits your chest pushing the mask up into the goggles. https://www.instagram.com/p/CXvl-E9Ir7N/?utm_medium=copy_link I also find the China masks are not a not a great shape but you can improve on it I start by flattering it then reshape. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CQgvp7gqIlt/?utm_medium=copy_link3 points -

Very true! For snap shooting though, cheek weld is king. It does also help with a lot that we don't actually experience in airsoft such as recoil. Tbh at the close ranges we shoot and the size of the target we usually try to hit, I almost always just mount and shoot. I could probably remove the sights from my CM16 and not notice any difference. None of my four shotguns has as much as a bead. I get some silly misses at close range with unfamiliar guns though. The point and shoot just isn't there.3 points -

One was complete failure of mechanism..so binned it, only cost me £14. 2nd one I bought was a Nuprol one and the handle broke within days of use... I just supergluded a large toothpaste cap onto it so I could keep using it...but was slow and tedious... Decided in the end to buy a proper one and got the ODIN... You can certainly tell the difference in quality, also picked up a spare mechanism for the ODIN, just in case I break that...as seen a few peeps breaking their odins internals. Electric Mag loader from Bullgear is on it's way finally from Russia...powered by a LIPO, so I guess if I put a 11.1 lipo in it it will load mags with no issues...considering how well built the Bullgear Boxmag is... I have high hopes for this loader. Will post a review once I get it and tested it in the field.2 points

It's pretty damn awesome! Bolt's a bit liable to not catch if you don't pull it back hard enough, and the bayonet lug is a tad bit big to fit a bayonet, but those are the only two things so far at least. Oh don't worry, we shall be doing games in the trenches and there shall be plenty of mud in future! This was my first game in the full kit 😁 (And I have no money now 😂)2 points

Yes if you compare the SAA to a genuine TM mag youll see the top plate is 'taller' than it should be, therefor holding the bucking away from the nozzle. As is the case always with the MWS, keep as many stock parts as you can. I did a lot of testing with a customers SAA vs TM mags (he had like 12 in total) and the SAA fill valve would not allow a full fill (tested by weight of liquid gas taken on), and as you found the exit valves spring pressure / knocker length isnt quite right either.2 points

Smashed it in these two paragraphs Awesome example RHS at the Mayflower, Southampton = some enthusiastic cosplay audience participation Specific groups of LA theatres / cinemas = the celebrities of professional RHS participation LA tourists managing to get in on a midnight showing = an audience to the professional audience Want to be taken more seriously then a guy dressed in a corset & stockings, sign up to the RHS international fan club - does that make them a serious theatrical audience partici……..pation performer? …… and when waterpistols get brought into the legislation I predict a fresh resurgence of RHS for people to earn their defence2 points

The second clause is "an imitation firearm is not [...] to be regarded as distinguishable from a real firearm [...]". "Real firearm" is still present, and still has the same definition of "a firearm of an actual make or model of modern firearm (whether existing or discontinued)". Again, Parliament could have chosen to use the FA 1968 S57 definition of imitation firearm, "any thing which has the appearance of being a firearm". They didn't, and that's significant. I'm sure the copper at the sharp end won't know that, and quite likely not the CPS or Fiscal either, but any competent defence brief or UKAPU should be able to bring proceedings to a halt. I'm so-so on whether or what forms of cosplay constitutes theatrical, and where the line would be drawn between performer and participant - are the Rocky Horror Show audience part of the performance? What I would note is that if you're choosing to buy cosplay insurance rather than theatrical performer insurance, then you're rather making an argument against yourself.2 points

.... I've actually got the face mask Rogerborg showed, but feel Airsoft is different from real steel shooting - my cheek weld is just the lightest of contact. Let's face it, in a pinch we could shoot these things with no sights at all, and just walk the BB's on to the target. And there's no recoil to control.2 points -

My illness has symptoms which present as an irrational need to customise whatever motorcycles are in my presence. This has led to some 'interesting' results in periods of no money and unsuitable bikes. I did once, seriously and no lie (aided and abetted by some clubmates) take an angle grinder to the frame of a CX500 that belonged to someone else. It entered the club garage as a standard black bike and left oxide green in what you might call a brat configuration (albeit 30 years before the term came to my attention). I think we called it an urban scrambler. We liked it anyway, and luckily so did the rather nonplussed owner (eventually). Took us about three hours and a few bits we had pre-selected that were knocking around.2 points -

Can't beat a genuine Odin. I've had a clone and it was shit, mags wouldn't lock in or they were a really tight fit (meaning I had to yank the magazine out of the loader with quite some force). Getting the airtech adapter in and out was a struggle and once the mag reached idk, 80 bbs, the handle would become super hard to crank. The genuine? Nope, not a single issue, except it's not too easy to find in this country. For pistol/vsr mags I still prefer the good old syringe style loaders though.2 points -

The issue with open dots (option 2) is when its raining you get just one drop in the emitter and say goodbye to the dot. Ofc that depends on your site and personal play choices as to wether or not you care about rain. I'm also not a fan of that particular style in terms of the way the adjustment is setup that it can be knocked off zero. Easy enough to push back against the stops but thats after you've missed. Yes the enclosed tubes are more obstructive, but with an unmagnified dot you just keep both eyes open and it'll mostly ghost the frame. Closer it is to your eye as well will help keep the field of view nice and wide.1 point -

TM Hi Capa 5.1 D.O.R. ... any opinions?
Paul72 reacted to emilianoksa for a topic
Regarding lanyard loops you might also consider a low profile black magwell with a hole for attaching a lanyard. This for example. https://hicapahub.co.uk/collections/magwells/products/5ku-airsoft-surgeon-cnc-aluminium-magwell-sti-black There is a hole at the rear which you can see in the second photo. You may not like magwells, but I find the low profile ones improve the feel and looks of a hi capa, especially if you go for black. They also conceal part of that big chunk of plastic at the bottom of the TM mag. Or you could just get a Guarder tactical mag. I imagine they will fit the DOR as well as the other TM hi capas, but you would need to check. Here is one on one of my TM 5.1s: Oops, sorry. The Guarder doesn't have a lanyard loop. My mistake.1 point -

Ah, good to hear that. Yes, with any sort of hop unit, you'll want to use the heaviest BBs that it will lift. It may simply be an issue of BB quality and consistency. "6mm" BBs actually tend to be 5.95mm, and in practice vary from 5.92mm to 5.98mm when you measure them. It's more likely that heavier BBs will be made to better tolerances than cheaper, lighter 0.2g. You may find that you can get better consistency from a tight-bore barrel, although finding or modify an existing aftermarket barrel to fit will be somewhat of a gamble.1 point

So ICS Galil Insert v2 was a partial success. It took BBs, but stopped at about 50 rounds which is far short of what it should take. I think the follower got caught at the base of the first turn. The initial turn to put the BB exit at the center of the mag was too twisting, leading to the follower getting stuck there. The decrease from double stack to single there also was too extreme, meaning BBs would get stuck there. The mags also squished onto my printbed slightly, leading to a slight edge on all edges which may interfere with feeding. So v3 now has a very slight rounding to all edges to counteract that, the insert that the hop unit goes into has been made slightly ovular to allow it to fit the hop easier, the BB pathing has been reworked with gentler curves to help feeding, the double to single area has been massively extended (may cause the mag to not feed the last 5 rounds or so, but thats an issue for future Spaz), and because I could I added about another 3 BB length to the feed tube. v3 is not going to be printed - instead I will begin on v4 which will integrate the 5 clasping bolts, the sole bottom retainer bolt, and the BB retainer and spring slot. v2: v3:1 point
