Something a bit different: WE M14 (with Ra-Tech trigger group) inside a realsteel TROY S.A.S.S. (Semi Automatic Sniper System) chassis. Very nice high-end chassis, CNC aluminum, the M14 needs a few adjustments, the trigger box doesn't fit in flawlessly yet. Will see how to fix that.8 points

Ukara without adult playing airsoft
Rogerborg and 3 others reacted to concretesnail for a topic
Your best bet would be to continue to play and if your parent was willing, talk to the shop on site, as they would be fully aware of your participation and that would be the defence. Ukara attemps to prove intended use and participation for retailers; to sell to a buyer who isn't present, I.e. over the Internet or who has walked into a physical retail store, rather than somebody who is on site and has an active history on that site. If your site doesn't have a sensible shop then you'll likely out of luck.4 points -
poor sportsmanship all round there. used what you want play how you want to play. however i have never come across a gear snob running a stock TM its usually something overly upgraded (stupid rate of fire and running a ball hair below site limits) that breaks ever other game but in the end if that's how they want to spend their money all power to them. As always the golden rule of airsoft is don't be a dick.3 points

There's one thing the budget range rifs can do that TMs cant. Give you a really smug sense of satisfaction when you light up a gear snob with it and they realise they were shot with something that cost a fraction of the price of theirs3 points -
I've got a licence to drive, one to watch TV and a licence to thrill (but that's just between myself and my wife)and a 'license to fly drones'. A personal licence to wax lyrical as I so wish. But no airsoft licence.🤔 Regards3 points

substitute parts sent by retailer
Cannonfodder and one other reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Yup, or a credit / debit card chargeback. No excuses, no costing you one penny to resolve. What you have now is a free gift, you've yet to receive what you've ordered. You don't have to be aggressive, or belligerent, just give them at most one chance to resolve it, then get your money back. Whatever you do, once you've opened a dispute, don't close it before you have either the money or what you ordered, you won't get to re-open it again.2 points -

Send them back for a full refund at the shop's expense. They sent you the wrong product. I'd also be checking to make sure the gears you were sent aren't cheaper than the ones you ordered2 points -

No offense but that does not seem practical to me, looks like it's pulling your whole plate carrier down on one side and how would you go prone without being uncomfortable? Also, doesn't it block your arm quite a bit? IMO mp7s are too big for holsters. If you have it on your thigh it's going to flap about when you run and if it's on your waist you will have uneven weight distribution which is a problem for most battle belts as they rely on even pressure to stay tight on your body. Also, in airsoft the performance advantage of a GBB Mp7 over a GBB pistol (hi-capas, full auto glocks etc) is minimal to non-existent. I get running one just because they're cool, though. And in that case I'd just throw it around my back on a one-point sling. Not great for rifles IMO but they're pretty good at keeping things tight to your body, it will flap about a bit but at least it won't pull anything down and if you're sniping you can always set it down to one side.2 points

They would have to play themselves if they wanted to purchase it or you will have to wait until you're 18, there's no way around it I'm afraid.2 points

Yep, and that's what its all about, having a smile on your face. Whether its practical or not! Quite right too. I've only got four RIFs however the one I shoot most often at home is the 20 quid Galaxy springer 1911 I picked up from BBG4L. Its a hoot. Thankfully never come across any gear snobs at games, the folks at my home site are all great craic and there's none of that. However it seems to be pretty prevalent on the net. Stuff em. Pfft. Who am I trying to kid eh...2 points -
I'd send them back and the retailer would cover all costs. Bloody cheeky of them.2 points

Yes, the case that springers to mind is of the drunken beggar (but I repeat myself) that was convicted for public possession of an orange "soft air" gun. It's unclear from the reporting whether the prosecution was under 16a as above, or Firearms Act Section 19, simple public possession. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/man-toy-gun-outside-bank-2723276 Still convicted though, Firearms Act doesn't distinguish. I'm guessing one of these beauties. Broken drum time, but public possession (IF or RIF) is the real risk for us as owners, purchasers, and even "modifiers", not any VCRA considerations, since the VCRA won't be an issue unless you've already been caught orange handed. Note that Section 19 is a strict liability offence that requires an affirmative defence, and the prosecution doesn't have to show any intent or guilty mind. I try to keep site details readily to hand on my phone when on the way to or from a game day.2 points

I've never looked at TMs principally because they are far and away beyond my budget. For me one of the thrills of airsoft is how much fun you can have without needing to spend massive amounts. Of course, wanting to spend massive amounts is a very different thing... For me, light weight wins every time, so it's plastic for me. Not at all fussed by recoil. Did try a GBB Glock once a few years ago, was fun but wouldn't go out my way to get one. Yes, gear snobs can look down at me if they so desire with my crappy Lancer Tactical M4 and my UAR. What is it thats said about APS, "A Piece of Shit"? Well to me they're great fun, work perfectly and cost me hardly anything. Most of all, I'm happy with what I've got. And they do the same job of lobbing plastic BBs at sub-350fps as something five times the price. And if folk want to blow 500 quid or whatever it is on a TM, fair play to them. Personally, I'll still hanker after a sub-£150 CSI XR-5 and perhaps an affordable non-CO2 Desert Eagle. As far as I'm concerned I'd never own another gnu if I had both of those.2 points -

I was like 12 maybe 13 at the time (34 now) and my network of 40k stretched to about 3 or 4 other people. All of those male, a few being my mates and one being a teaching assistant who let us play magic the gathering with him at dinner and 40k once a week after school. I'm not in anyway saying girls playing 40k was / is some kind of myth. I'm just stating that my desire to touch boobs was greater than my desire to play 40k 😂1 point

If they wanted to sub an out of stock item they have to agree it with you before they do it, unless it's in the t&c. If you don't want it as uts not the ratio you ordered make them pay to get it back or take it up with PayPal etc.1 point -

Agree with the above, that's not on. Go on, name and shame, who was it?1 point -
There ideal is that a UK retailer would import via their normal distributor / supplier channels That way goods would come in at trade prices. Failing that and you may get lucky with retailer to retailer importation, that may also involve some form of trade pricing between them. The ideal for retail is to markup by doubling the price, anything below that is likely to fail to cover business overheads and industries that can’t manage that within a market are full of struggling businesses at the best of times1 point

Also what a lot of players don’t seem to realize is TM are made exclusively for the Japanese market(Their not that bothered about what the rest of the world wants) where the FPS allowed is no more than 322fps by law . TM manufacturers all their gun to function to there maximum potential below this number hence they function so well at a lower FPS compared to other brands , and once you DO start ‘up-grading’ you end up in a situation where once one part is changed it throws everything else out of sink and you then end up replacing another part , then you need to replace another part , and another etc etc . I buy what I can afford AND what I like , so my collection runs the whole gamut from £25 springer shotguns up to £600+ ‘special’ guns AND everything in between ! 😁 I’ll be honest I’ve never encountered anyone looking down on my kit(but I think they probably realise from my general ‘demeanor’ I wouldn’t take any of that shit from anyone ?😇) but in the end who really cares ? I don’t ! 👍1 point

AND with this one incongruous comment you open the door and put the light on one of the biggest points of contention in Airsofting , FPS v Range . On one side you have players who say within reason of course that FPS has rock all to do with range it’s all about your hop set up(I’m in that camp) and on the other you have the ones banging on about the FPS is what matters as “power = distance”(definitely NOT me !) 😉1 point

I'll probably run it like this next game. The full rail lets me get the ACOG far enough forward that I dont feel its going to smack me in the face with recoil The gun is one I own jointly with a mate , we do have a SUSAT for it but TBH I prefer an ACOG. Not a fan of vert grips although I do have one with the integral bipod, but a torch is a bit of fun !1 point

'Bolt action' implies typical airsoft snipers. However an aeg can also fire at 2.5 j as long as it can only fire once per trigger pull (no full auto) as can a GBBR again as long as it can only fire semi which covers DMRs which are typically aegs but capable of over 1.3j Your initial statement of 1.3 joules for anything capable of full or semi auto is incorrect, 1.3j only applies to full auto , my GBBRs have a bolt that loads the next projectile by moving and cocking the gun, but they are full auto capable so limited to 1.3j max. The Gas DMR I am building at the moment is internally the same but has a semi only selector so is ok up to the 2.5j although my local site limits DMRs to 1.9j.1 point

I must have suffered a bump on the head at work because I was considering getting back into 40k. I used to play after school (shit.....22 years ago) for a while but then I found girls and just painted in secret 🤣🤣 I thought it might make a nice winter hobby doing a bit of painting but I decided against it in the end. After adding up all the money I intended on spending on miniatures, paint and the time, I could get some pretty sweet pew pew things and just play the new Age of Empires 4 instead!! My mate Dave still paints and has been featured in white dwarf a number of times over the past 20 years! He is good! 🤣1 point

No, they have retail shops that provide table space for playing their games as well as tournaments and even painting competitions (they flog super expensive paints and brushes as well). It's a smart move, especially with the competition from those vidjya games the kids are into these days. I should stress this is a 1990s anecdote, when some shops were still run by sweaty neckbeards who'd let you get away with shenanigans like no-mini setups (I was at least clutching and citing a purchased rulebook). No chance these days, they have a "no sweaty neckbeard" policy, and their only goal is to flog starter sets and get people hooked on the plastic crack. Fun aside, Henry Cavill (Superman) is a massive GW nerd. He can probably just about afford it as well. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-39B5ShMWw/ Oh, please bear in mind that there are plenty of other systems and settings available (and you can play them for a lot less), it's just that Games Workshop are so dominant in the hobby now. [UPDATE] Dammit, you've got me looking at the Glasgow and District Neckbeard Society now, I might drop by on Sunday and hang out with the other geezers.1 point
