I think it's finished! Top pic was from just before I used it at Halls CQB site. Which is where I played with @Steveocee and the battlecat gang 🤣 (also got my trigger and rear sight from Kyle of Hicapa Hub) Kyle's not long dropped off an Edge Magwell and I didn't hesitate in fitting it! I'm really pleased with how it looks and even more so oh hell well it performs! I'll be leaving my MTW at home for my next game at Leicester Gaol and will use my AAP-SMG and my Hi Capa!3 points

Having used the over the ear Earmors for a while, if they're anything like as good then they'll be fine. You should be able to adjust the volume of the ambient sounds to whatever's comfortable for you. I literally feel your pain as I have tinnitus too!2 points

For actually useful tactics as applied to airsoft I cannot recommend this guy enough https://www.youtube.com/user/rwiley1690 He's an active duty SWAT officer in the US the plays airsoft/milsim regularly.2 points -

I won't pretend to know how this one was weaponised. The bigly genius involved may have been sufficiently determined to unscrew one fast enough to turn it into an eyeball seeking missile. That's another thing about airsoft: there are plenty of mistakes that you'll only make once, but there's never a shortage of folk ready to make them.2 points

Ain't that the truth. Last Christmas I gave my son a telescope. He's now into astrophotography and has a set up that nasa want to borrow. £300 pounds on a 75mm dia filter to pick out hydrogen alpha gas in the wizard nebula billions of miles away. I've got very mild tinnitus and don't want it getting any worse from pyro, so have been looking at hearing protection, specifically electricool active protection that apparently limits noise without making voices inaudible. The big bulky over-ear tacticool stuff doesn't really seem like my jam, but I've spotted that there are now in-ear versions, specifically the Earmor M20. Decent review here: And £60 isn't outrageous compared to the lifetime consequences of taking a Mk5 near to an unprotected earball. https://www.ballisticdesigns.co.uk/shop/communications/m20-electronic-earplug/ But if they end up cutting out too much low level noise, I'm unlikely to wear them. Any personal experiences with these, or alternatives?1 point

I've been spending a bit too much time on YouTube searching for reviews of the guns I've been considering buying, and there are some damned good people out there. And some very under-appreciated / under-subscribed channels that I think deserve a wider audience. So here are a few links from my subs list: First up is Rock Bottom airsoft. A mix of reviews, tech help and gameplay. All well made. Only possible criticism is he might ramble a bit at times, and does re-iterate his points (in the time honoured presentation skills fashion) but he seems to come up with intelligent and useful stuff rather than click-baity rubbish. How he's only got 350 subs is a damning indictment of how unfair YouTubery is. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvkpk2EJr2mA70qoR9qBBYA/featured Then there's this Polish chap, Maniek44 who provided an excellent review of the gun I ended up buying (well, a model up the range, but basically the same), so he gets his name in lights for doing me a big favour with one video https://www.youtube.com/c/Maniek44Eng/featured And there's Pheas Airsoft with good reviews and also upgrade how-to's and tests. https://www.youtube.com/c/PheasAirsoft Ooh la la! Oioi Airsoft One of them Frenchies who can speak Anglais? Don't mind if you don't but I do - he's good at reviewing stuff https://www.youtube.com/c/Oioiairsoft Fans of the L85 will no doubt already worship at the altar of English Kiwi https://www.youtube.com/c/EnglishKiwi There's the usual suspects... new airsofters might not know of these yet... some of them are rather Marmite, but y'know "any port in a storm" sometimes they have content you just can't get anywhere else. RedWolf https://www.youtube.com/c/redwolfairsoft Badabing Pictures https://www.youtube.com/c/BadaBingPictures Bespoke Airsoft https://www.youtube.com/c/BespokeAirsoft Airsoft Mike https://www.youtube.com/c/AIRSOFTMIKEUK/featured StayFresh Shoe https://www.youtube.com/c/StayFreshShoe BB Warrior https://www.youtube.com/user/TheBBWarrior Airsoft GI https://www.youtube.com/c/airsoftgi JAG airsoft https://www.youtube.com/c/JAGAIRSOFT Taiwan Gun https://www.youtube.com/user/KrakmanTaiwanGun BurntWolf https://www.youtube.com/c/BurntwolfAirsoft Big Birds Airsoft https://www.youtube.com/c/BIGBIRDSAIRSOFT/videos There's a bunch more in the subs list I haven't got to, but my typing finger is getting tired. EDIT: I'll add extra suggestions from the comments here... GAMBLE https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL-V_yVApaCpm096XBAQE1A/featured HeroShark https://www.youtube.com/user/herosharkno1/videos Anvil Airsoft https://www.youtube.com/c/AnvilAirsoftTV Wikal https://www.youtube.com/c/Wikal/videos Ollie Talks Airsoft https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbzBsPrlbpI79lw6NllU52g/featured 4UAD (wow! gold standard reviews) https://www.youtube.com/c/4UADSmartAirsoft/featured Gunfather Milsim (tactics) https://www.youtube.com/user/rwiley1690 Ze Germans are here https://www.youtube.com/c/REAPERsAirsoft/videos So last but definitely by no means on the leash ... for a sweary good laff, I can't leave out Negative Airsoft https://www.youtube.com/c/NegativeAirsoftTech You'll definitely pick up a hint of what tech'ing is about. His brief overview of all the different manufacturers gave me confidence in ordering my Double Eagle. (Oh shizzle, he isn't last, this is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W85oD8FEF78&ab_channel=OwlKitty Just click it already. Meow.)1 point -
#MeToo, probably a combination of everything that went bang in the military long before anyone considered hearing protection, motorcycles since my teens & years of power tools, especially all the metal cutting🙉 Not sure what pisses me off more though, the fact that it never stops, or when my missus stops me & says "can you hear a funny buzzing/ringing sound", I've given up replying, I just give her the "look" 😏1 point

I can't imagine truly trusting a retailers review of a product they stock. The same goes for most channels which have had the product sent to them for free and not even properly tested/used it, yet can't stop gushing over how amazing it "Phenomenal accuracy from this Raven Hi Capa. Yeah, simple upgrade - buy decent 0.28g BBs and play with it a for a couple of games before you do anything else - it's what I'm doing! The temptation to dive in straight off is strong (especially when I said about the spring and lube), but when I look back at my TM AK47S when I first started airsofting, I had a great few games with that before I got the spring upgraded and a tight barrel fitted (and stuck a big heavy battery on it, weighed it down with a top rail and sight). Having said that.. it seems changing the hop rubber and nub is easy, other people here will recommend you some options. Accuracy seems decent out-of-the-box though, and my hop lifts 0.30's already. I'll be interested to see what the improvement will be with those changed out.1 point -

its not hard and theres a great amount you can do. weither you want to use the wire wool on metal or make plastic look like worn metal by dry brushing a little bit of metallic paint on raised edges or go full hog as add rust with iron powders etc (im more post apocalypse airsoft so go more with that for the rare attempt at a game i get) get referance pictures of what your thinking and go from there. theres more than a few great inspirational threads here1 point

for the case of the "standard" 2-tone is it that bad a loss? it is an interesting question, for example the aps uar being not a replica by dint of there being no gun (or gun-shaped prop) that it resembles. wasn't it you that used the "man on the clapham omnibus" example to point out it just needs to be realistic enough to fool joe public? kind of ironic that a cap&ball colt would be just as recognizable to joe public and yet is exempt being pre 1870.1 point -

Rogerborg reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Hi Jake Short version: You'll love it There's a good forum thread in the Reviews section which has switched into a sort-of owners tricks and tips and pics thread. If you want reassurance you've bought a good gun - that's easy - there doesn't seem to be a bad word said yet. (Well maybe note that the spring tends to lose some of its strength over a short-ish period of time, and piston might need a lubing. But given the quick change spring ability, and access to the piston is relatively simple, don't be scared by those things) All the Double Eagle M90x guns share the same internals. The 904's have polymer receivers, the 906's are metal, the 907's are milled metal, and the 908 has the fancy handguard and the PTS EPS style stock that maybe I should've paid the extra for 😏 So anything said about any of the guns will most likely apply to yours too There is a decent video review of the 908 on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZkN0fqfkvw and a good in-depth of the cheaper / lighter 904 here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xU_vnyRCLj4&ab_channel=Maniek44_Eng And a nice web site review here Double Eagle M904G / WMASG.com - Airsoft binds us!1 point -
Joking aside though, why? Just why Coral? Sure, I bought a two toned plastic CYMA M4 off the buzz from my first day, but it cost £75, it was painted over, and the paint was off before my second day. Even if you just want it as a wall hangar, even if you can't persuade someone to sell you a RIF (more on that in a moment), why wouldn't you factor in getting it repainted. It's not even gangster to do so, because it's not an imitation of an actual make or model of modern firearm (whether existing or discontinued), so there's no VCRA offence committed by either sale or modification. I look at that horror and all I can think is "My God, someone please save it." Wait, was it... was it bought to troll people? Because if so, mission accomplished.1 point

note the lesson kids- us in the airsoft community get that 2-toning is a necessary evil to allow us to keep pewing, so when you turn up nobody is going to judge you if your g&g raider is bright blue, trust us it's not as bad as what some folks voluntarily do to their guns. unless you 2-tone something nice, then we're gonna judge you to be the heretic that you are.1 point -

Yep basically that, you wouldn't get the capacity of shots using hpa in a mag size container. If you want a gbb gun that runs well it's all about the choice of gun and some model co2 Mags are just not worth bothering with imo over a gun that runs well on green gas. Even if you need to give it some more pep in winter using black gas.1 point

So it started around 310 when I got it around father's day and dropped to 280 over time. I popped the gearbox out and cycled the piston back to where I could lube the o-ring. (You can use a fingernail or small screwdriver to rotate the o-ring to get the whole thing. Went back up immediately. Also a huge problem with mine was they used too much glue on the red tip and it glued the inner to the outer barrel. The barrel is not supped to be locked in place. Also swap the barrel spring that is around the barrel that contacts the upper. It was odd shaped, almost conical.1 point
