  2. The ring symbolises your commitment to the hobby and the spring tames all the powerful recoil of the aeg which is why you don’t feel any.

  3. So I'm going to try airsoft for the first time and I'm going to the base CQC near Swindon on the 22nd of August . Got a bit of a long journey so thought i would throw out the offer to give someone a lift and get to know some people in the sport. I will most likely take one of the below routes, so if you want a lift and you're within a reasonable distance of one of the routes just let me know. Probably got space for about 2 other people including gear.

  7. Ok, last of the Speedsoft content - moving on to other projects now. Made a hand guard using 40mm PVC pipe that acts as a sleeve over the stock outer barrel. Barrel nut epoxied to one end, and a cap that is a tight interference fit on the outer barrel epoxied to the other. Very solid given the soft plastic of the pipe, no flex or wobble. Perfectly usable I reckon, assuming you don't plan to use it as a club and wrap it around a tree. I call it - the fleshlight....😉 (Note - no guns were harmed in the making of this project, all bits will be reverted back to stock shortly.)

  11. I use a SADF M83 chest rig. It holds 6 mags plus has a couple of other pouches, they're well made and lightweight. The only downside I can think of is that they're designed to take 7.62 mags so the m4 mags might be a bit small

  12. Best solution I’ve found for glasses are the Guard Dog Evader 2’s https://www.specs4sports.co.uk/evader-2-over-glasses-goggles--black-frame-clear-lens-5515-p.asp Myself and most of my airsofting bespectacled chums all use them now. As for fogging, they’re about as good/bad as any other goggle. The only thing I’ve ever found, over many years of trying to stop fogging is exfog.

  14. I ordered a belt on the 23rd July, I emailed them a few days after asking if it came with the inner belt. I was told the multicam was still out of stock and it must be an error on their site and they’d fix it… seems that they’ve done a few of us over with that one. I asked for a refund on the 28th July. Chased everyday until I got a response saying “this has been done.” Which it hadn’t. I’ve then chased them three times since with no response. opened a PayPal dispute today. I would avoid this shambles of a company like the plague.

    The TM AKM thread

Greetings comrades, and welcome to the TM AKM thread. The glorious AKM has now been reproduced as an airsoft gbbr. This is a highly realistic gbbr (not that I have handled an ak mind), and thus is doesn’t have a bolt lock feature… no after the last bb, you get the dead mans click (hammer falls but no other action), just as our glorious solialist motherland demanded. it also has a highly fiddley dry fire mode … I’ll explained it later. other wise function wise it’s just like a aeg ak. first issue I have found is the humongous gas tube …. It’s longer than a cricket test match! this limits the amount of gas that you can hold in the mag (about 5seconds worth of green gas) but there is a simple solution, just like our enemy Yankee brotheren… cut the tube in half and you vastly increased the amount of dissidents you can send to Stalin per fill (15s fil =70+ semi shots before cool down) highly recommended film :- AK-47 Kalashnikov

    Fogging!

Hi Guys! Had my first ever Airsoft game last weekend & whilst I loved it...the fogging face mask did annoy me. I've been told to give mesh goggles a miss so I'm after some advice about which are the best eye protection out there?

  19. I want to know what is the role and purpose of the brass ring that goes in front of the hop-up chamber and the spring that sits on the inner barrel in front of it. I tried to look online, but either my search queries weren't spot-on, or the question is too generic, because I didn't find an answer.

@Bada Bing With the mags in mind, have you tried swapping the gas fill valve between one of your good ones and the ‘duff’ one? Ive noticed this on MWS mags, there is sometimes a lemon fill valve and it won’t take gas on. Would be curious to see what you find

Yep, all the models in the EDGE range have the same specs. (Longer barrels may make a small difference) (I have the E03 and very happy with it)

  23. Thank you for all your inputs. Much appreciated. I've pulled a trigger on a used arktis 42. If that proves to be no good then I'll look for SADF M83 or the LBT 1961A as they both look like something I'd willing to wear. Only downside to the arktis that I can see is that I won't be able to move or remove the pouches unlike molle systems. We shall see!

As the title says , now in absolutely no way shape or form is this a pop at the seller , it’s just simply a personal thought on said items for sale , but this has to be one of the most batshit crazy things I have ever seen ! A belt mountable retention holster for an M4 ? It’s insane ! 🤦‍♂️ and I love it !🤣🤣🤣🤣

  27. You just get more of the same type of guns. I have 2 VSRs and 2 m14s, and I want 2, maybe 3, more m14s (so I'll have faux wood Vietnam, m21 SWS, socom, EBR and DMR). Collection is a valid part of the hobby too. Also, I don't see NVGs on that list. Save up for a £10k set of Gen3s

    Chest Rig Recommendations

I've been using loads of different chest rigs for years now. I have a couple of plate carriers too but since the only sites I frequent now tend to be woodland they've been ditched in favour of chest rigs. A molle rig is very flexible in terms of being able to work out what you want to carry and then getting a specific set of pouches for that. For example, I started out with a WAS 901 chest rig. I covered it in the standard WAS flap topped, double magazine pouches which was great because I ALWAYS had enough mags but I could also fit utility pouches to house bangs, smokes, my suppressor/tracer if I didn't need it right away etc. But it was heavy and bulky after a while. More recently I started using the Spiritus style rigs (clones but still). Yes, they're lightweight, yes they're configurable BUT they do have their limits. If you're playing short skirmish games and you're fairly sparing with your ammo then you'll be fine. If you want to carry radios, pyro, etc then you start having to add more stuff on that puts them into the realms of fixed chest rigs for size and weight. If you're out for long enough to need more than half a dozen mags (or 4 if you're using 7.62 sized gear) then you're stuffed. Plus six mags stuffed into a micro rig gets pretty bulky! I've also picked up clones of the Mayflower Gen IV and Gen V rigs and they're working well for me. Gen IV fits close to the body and I have it set up for my MK12 DMR. Four mags in the main pouches then a couple of spares in the utilities at one end. Bangs in the other. The Gen V is setup for my M14s and can hold 6-8 mags (M14 mids don't hold loads of rounds) without getting bulky (plus it has a centre zip for getting it on and off easily. I've just ordered a repro 1961A too for shits and giggles and so I can see just how much gear I can wedge into one rig!

  31. The ring is a shim that goes between the inner barrel and the hop unit, to help secure and stabilise it. Pop it over the barrel, slide it down, and press it firmly in so that it disappears inside the hop unit. Because inner barrels don't have consistent thicknesses, you may find that the stock ring isn't a perfect fit with an aftermarket barrel. The spring pushes the hop unit back against the gearbox, helping to create a more consistent distance between the nozzle, feed tube, and the hop bucking lips. Just fractions of a millimetre of front-to-back play in the hop unit can create low or inconsistent energy, or misfeeding issues. That's one of the issues with airsoft toys, they require fine tolerances, but have fairly shoddy engineering. There can be a fair amount of shimming needed to get everything lined up just so. Gearbox gears are the most obvious example, plus these hop unit issues, and I've even had to fit shims inside a couple of motors to reduce the amount of longitudinal play in the shaft.

  32. They help to seal the hop unit to the nozzle. The ring is a spacer to ensure the hop and inner barrel are centred. The spring puts pressure on the hop to push it towards the nozzle so it keeps a good seal.

  36. True. But generally people only review when its bad. You have to go out of your way to do so. So the anger drives that. I cant think any delivery firm is over 60% JG scorpion for £50 on gunfire though.....

Wellll…I’m an American who is in the Military an I get free shipping an Evike has more stuff it seems, an I haven’t had any luck looking around for upgrades here in the UK. And yes to the DMR lock, an this is a more expensive an only hobby I have atm an I kind of have money to blow because I really enjoy this sport. An you said AK2M4 ? I’ll give it a look I would love to cut the shipping time out of the equation. An it’s mainly people at my field who have recommend me getting the Titan as the tigger response is great an your able to program everything apparently as Ive mentions above I’m no tech Genius but I really appreciate any knowledge. @Shaydee

    Sixmm.Com Review

Necro post I know. I ordered from Sixmm in May. After an adequate period with no item, I escalated to a dispute with PayPal and eventually they found in my favor. I will not deal with Simm airsoft (or off shoots) again, and I would say order from them at your own risk.

  46. This is partly why you're going to struggle to convince me it's better than a GHK. Having seen the rwtv video on it I'd still rather have the GHK. Not that I'd even consider the TM until they started bringing out a 74 anyway.

    Sixmm.Com Review

Update. Credit where it’s due. Sixmm have given me a full refund and didn’t ask for the suppressor back. All comms were via WhatsApp and were answered within 48hrs. One message stated that the WhatsApp account was a business one and all queries would be answered within 48hrs so they were true to their word. How much of this was down to me putting in a dispute with PayPal and how much was due to them sorting out their customer services I don’t know. But, a good outcome for me, so happy days.
