Another new guy
Jerry Mike and one other reacted to garett27 for a topic
Hello all good Evening! My name’s Garett from Scotland. I would like to say thanks for letting me be member of this forum. Looking forward to impact knowledge to other members on here and learn more I don’t know much about Thanks!2 points -
Nope sorry can't understand it.🤔 You are basically helping towards the demise of your own country for for the sake of a few coins. For me I like being able to go to my local airsoft shop and looking around, going hands on and buying if I like and being assured that if it goes wrong I can just take it back. I don't know about you but I have never had bad customer service when face to face. OK so you save a few bob but what happens when all our local suppliers are forced out of business through lack of support, your overseas suppliers will Cotton on and have you over a barrel( no pun intended) Give your business to this country and small independent suppliers or loose them ☹2 points

Many reasons players by from over seas and not the U.K. retailers , among them you have , severely over priced really shite customer service zero items in stock are just three I can think off of the top of my head ? if you can’t get the car you want from the U.K. but you can buy it and get it shipped over from Japan for a reasonable amount ? Yes I would (I have actually done it in the past with a motorbike) .2 points

How my MWS is performing these days...2 points -
Heya all. I just picked up one of the new Ares Kel-Tec RDBs. This is the first and probably only generation of these AEGs. I am always loathe to be the first to buy a brand new just released rifle ever since the KWA Tavor GBBr disaster. But... It's a bullpup, and I must have it. With the Ares RDB I was mostly right to be reticent. Looks: Great, the box is similar to the real Kel Tec rifle ones. The Replica looks fantastic. Quite accurate to look at. The Plastic is of very high quality Nylon Fibre. The metal feels like standard Ares Pot metal. Internals: Usual Ares Trash, not that I expected any less. This essentially took the standard Ares Soc-AR gearbox, Quick change spring system, Ferrite motor, innards and mosfet, replaced the cylinder with a one piece cylinder/cylinder head type and called it fine. To be fair the Ares Mosfet is a monster, hall sensors everywhere, whilst it has no real additional functionality, it is made of quite substantial components. The proprietary hop unit is.... meh. The plastic used is sturdier then it's orange appearance would have you believe. Unlike other Ares hop units, this one probably wont adjust by itself upon firing. Sadly the arm has a built in plastic nub, so you will need to modify it to use a rubber nub. The standard bucking is the usual ultra soft Ares rubber which tears easily. I replaced this with a Prommy Purple straight away. Hop adjustment is made in the magwell (So have to remove the magazine) by a small flathead screwdriver supplied within the RDB's pistol grip. The stock barrel is an awfully made 450mm brass barrel with a small hop window. This was changed out for a ZCI 420mm straight away. Fit and Finish: This is where the problems were very close to me returning it. The Outer Barrel and gas tube/Top Rail do not align, much like the 1st gen G&G GK5's and 1st gen Krytac M4's. I had to take the outer barrel apart to align it close enough to shoot straight. Sadly this also means trying to get the handguard pin back in is a nightmare as the pin hole on the gas tube/outer barrel bracket is now at a slight angle. I suspect this is actually an inherent design flaw rather then something specific to mine. If you want to see if your RDB has this issue, just look from the top down at the front of the rail and see if it aligns with the outer barrel extension, my extension is cockeyed to the left. I cant get the flash hider off from the barrel extension. Its stuck on fast and I need to get the heatgun out to see if that will shift it. The gearbox shimming is awful as per usual for Ares. the motor is weak, but the mosfet bullies the AEG into having reasonable performance on 11.1v. As per usual I will be replacing these bits ASAP. Performance: It's not particularly awful, I need to spend some time with the hop unit to get it working as best as it could, even with the prommy purple and ZCI barrel, its performance is lacking a little, range falling short of most of my other AEG's. ROF is fine. FPS was 330 out of the box with a stock M90 spring, dropping to 320 when I installed the shorter ZCI barrel. It's a quick change spring system so I put in a spare M95 to bump the performance up to 347 fps. At least it shoots straight after being beaten into shape by yours truly. Would I recommend it?: Like most bullpups, you have to love the system, be prepared to invest some physical labour and Teching to get it working to an acceptable standard. So for your average user... no. I do LOVE the look of the rifle and the way it feels in hand. If you insist on buying one, try seeing it in person beforehand to see if it has the barrel misalignment issue that I had. Frankly, it's Ares, and I got what I expected, good ideas, good on paper, but woefully implemented. Unfortunately NOT everyone is so blessedly lucky like you and has a shop on their doorstep , there are no shops in South Wales at all , the nearest shop to me is over a 3hrs drive and when I did go there it turned out to be a piss poor one at that(and to really put the cherry on top the thing I went for and had been told was in stock wasn’t) .I do buy most of my guns in the U.K. I’m not that naive ! but if it’s not in stock anywhere over here am I expected to go without what I want because no one in the U.K. has it ? Yea right ! We’re not just talking about a ‘couple of coins’ ! we’re talking substantial differences in price , I’m sorry but if I can get a box of a particular type of mag from HK for £42 posted and the same one in the U.K. is £67+P&P and that’s if it’s even in stock , well I’m sorry but you can stuff the poor little U.K. retailers I’m not spending £25+ extra to fly the flag . And when one of the supposedly ‘top 3’ retailers in the country takes a substantial amount of money off you to upgrade a new gun before delivery and you later discover they used substandard parts and thats why your gun imploded 6mths later I call that poor customer service wouldn’t you ? Or another classic I’ve had happen i buy a gun and after I paid for this ‘in stock’ I received an email saying it’s actually on back order ? Yea that’s shit customer service as far as I’m concerned , products listed as in stock but you only discover its out of stock when you try to put the bloody thing in your basket ? that’s shite service . If you really must sit on your moral high horse and pass judgment on others then feel free too but please keep it to your self there’s a good chap . Remember this is just your opinion , and as we all know an opinion is like an arsehole , everyone has one and there frequently full of shit ? Live long and prosper .😉1 point

Name of a type of battle belt?
Tackle reacted to jimmykells for a topic
Tasmanian Tiger's "warrior" belt is like this. The Crye MRB is also quite well known, although it's very pricey! The aforementioned TMC and Emerson belts are clones of it. I would agree that the TMC one is decent, although it does go for about 80 quid iirc1 point -

8 Baofengs and a licence. Most of our team now have them. I set up a Chirp program map and just send all the newbies a chirp export file that's customised with their name etc. The map has the legal licensed frequencies and the PMR ones all mapped in. I've moved from the 5r to the 9r as its waterproof, which is a bit more secure for wet game days Swap the aerials out for a genuine Nagoya 771 one, or Retevis' version and the range is good enough for anything an airsoft game is likely to throw at you Oh and when purchasing them, get them direct from official Baofeng and web sites, there is a ton of fakes and clones. When you test the fakes they have low power and terrible performance/ noidse etc. the genuine are superb1 point

yeah bud they used blue for dmrs and clear for normal full auto aegs etc1 point

Form or Function
Druid799 reacted to Jaylordofwaargh for a topic
This comment isnt getting the recognition it really deserves, playing last week i was often running with both rentals and people with expensive kit. Both groups happened to be good people whom i would gladly play with again. I do proudly sit in the budget boy slot, i have 1 primary that i will tinker with if/when it breaks and i have a back up cheap shotty that would keep me occupied in a cqb site. I would argue that although i cant get that first shot kill at 70m i can and will get most at 65m with a couple of range finder shots. Kit, maybe, i am super comfy in my simple chest rig and ammo grab bag (with hydration pack if required). Weapon though....yes, if i had the beer tokens saved and a gun on my (stable) wish list came up, yes. I am currently saving for a mid tier aeg but the idea of buying a full price gun..... I do sit in the function over form. My only aeg i picked up at 50% off, i wouldnt have gone for that model/style at full price. It has a cheap knock off railed Magpul style handgaurd that people are interested in until i tell them its made of cheap plastic and not high end plastic. My peq box is huge, like 10cm long and looks outrageous. At the same time i spent lots of beer tokens on powering my aeg, but again this is function based purchase. People come and look at my aeg because they have either seen the range or have been shot by it, as a rule people become uninterested when i tell them its a cheap piece of kit.1 point -

Oh dear. £150 worth of Firehawk with an unknown red dot, battery and burn-your-house-down charger. £130 of Hi-Capa T-Rex, presumably WE. £175 of Hi-Capa extended magazines, brand unknown, condition unknown. =£455 brand new, all available in stock from PatrolBase today. Random pile of holsters, BB, gas, mesh and dress up. All for the bargain price of £550, take it all or leave it. "would like to sell it all in one go" I'm sure you would, but you won't, not at new+ prices for "as new", and before the inevitable "oh yeah m8 fees and postage and that". I think these adverts make me the saddest of all.1 point -
Evidence to counter what @AlphaBear said ? Nothing personal but just saying “not true” is hardly a 100% totally reliable and ‘convincing’ argument now is it . Savvy ?1 point

Huh, I did not know that. All I really knew is that they make what am bestest gnu EVER, the Double Eagle M83 A2. I mean just look at this bad boy, that's nearly 200fps of raw pulsing plastic gearbox power there, a red dot, 10,00,0000 lumen tactical flashlight, 100% grippable grip and a fully suppressed silencer. Most noobs go for the orange, but just between us, blue adds the most Joule creeps.1 point

I fear you're going to find that when you get to the delivery stage that they say "lol jk m8" and refuse to send it. You think they'd be up front about, especially if you've selected £GBP and already have a UK address registered with them, but they seem to like leaving it right to the end of the order. Could be wrong, they may have changed their mind again, but there's only one way to find out. Personally I wouldn't risk it now anyway, there seem to be far too many jobsworths involved at the moment.1 point

My wife said to me last night that she had a bag of used clothes to give to the charity shop and can I take them up there for her. I said just throw them in bin it's easier. She said there were thousands of poor starving people in the world that would benefit from having them. Stupidly I said that anyone who can get into your clothes certainly ain't starving!! And that's why I can't make this Sundays game and why I'll possibly be walking with a limp! 🤕 Regards1 point

@Steveocee I ran it as an AEG as Phoenix don't knock down HPA users and AEG's can run at 370! Gives me a nice advantage over most AEG's as you'd expect them to be sub 350 as per everywhere else. Now DMR's are 450fps at Phoenix. My mate ran his MTW as a DMR and had a blast! I'm tempted to try DMR next time I'm there. However being a bushman, I got a good 20+ kills within 20m. I went invisible and hit a 10 kill streak. Had the other team moaning at eachother thinking they were getting team killed!! 🤣🤣1 point

Fantastic day at Phoenix yesterday. I ran my VSR for a few games but with towering 10ft ferns everywhere, it wasn't that fun. Switched to my MTW and engaged hedge trimmer mode! My bloody flash drum mag full of 0.32's shat itself later in the day but fortunately I had 3 mags full of 0.36's to test with me in my rig. Oh my, just that little bit more range was so helpful and the consistency was spot on using the heavier BB. Will definitely be buying some more!!1 point

I picked up mine for pretty much the same reasons! Got frustrated at the UK retailers not having any in stock, waited a while, finally pulled the trigger and imported one only for the retailers to start stocking it whilst mine was delayed in customs. Not had a chance to fire mine yet (I went for the OD version too because obviously), but here's the offending rail/barrel. There does seem to be a left bias, but I'm not sure if that's just because I'm expecting one and held the camera like a fool. How cockeyed was yours in comparison? When I've actually had a chance to take it outside I'll let you know if it flies off target and hits the neighbour's cat instead of the target.0 points

Hi all, The dreaded day has come... The day when I say bye to Airsoft for a while. I am selling all my kit will be posting photos later. But for now I am wanting to double check the price of this bundle. It is: E11 Blaster with box + 3x low cap magazines + 2x 7.4v batteries + 1x full bottle of ASG .25s BBs I think 3300 + Also a gun bag only used for storage in spare room. Hasn't had a proper game yet as was too hot to use but I'm not a handy man to deal with springs. 😂 Basically only been test fired for chrono possibly a few little marks from that but fully works etc and nearly "new". Link to gun: https://www.bespokeairsoft.co.uk/s-t-e11-blaster-star-wars-storm-trooper-blaster RRP: around £530 collected. Would I be bad to charge £400 collected? Dont want to ship due no box for the gun box to go in.0 points
