Last update of the abomination , wasn’t happy with a β€˜naked’ dust cover so sorted that and then decided it needed a tactigay sling , so made one of those as well , also decided to give the PBS a bit of character as well ! Can’t wait for its first kill(the souls that die of those who gaze upon it don’t count !πŸ˜‚) 😈

  3. I joined the ever-growing AAP owners recently, and treated myself to the AA hop unit. Paired it with a 130mm ZCI barrel from @ak2m4 So I can replace the whole hop & barrel in one go, and keep the original set up if needed. Currently using a flamingo V2, but I've also got a couple of maple leaf buckings on order too. (I thought I had some more spare, but obviously not). Can't wait to get out & use it next weekend!

That is going to destroy people mentally, it’s a bad enough shun getting knife killed let alone by that bile! They maybe a lot of people with mental breakdowns or a strange type of PTSD. PS I think you should have a red/pink tracer set up.

  11. Absolutely! Can't wait to get back in the saddle... particularly while it's not too hot - I'm a run-around-like-a-mentalist-getting-shot-a-lot kind of player, so often overheat under a plate carrier etc! I didn't get rid of any of my gear so that shouldn't stand in my way. Not that that will stop me getting some more though, of course! πŸ€‘ And thanks for the tip about Gamble. I've only looked at his eye pro video so far but that's been a great start - I'm still using mesh for fear of fogging, but it sounds like I'm behind the times! Thank you! πŸ™‚

    What have you made?

I’ve been making kit for a good few years now and I find the best way too mark out the molle spacing is have a sheet of card with spacing marked on it that you’ve then cut with a craft knife on each β€˜stitch’ line that you mark through on to the material in one go . I found if you mark up each line as you go along It’ll always go Pete Tong and you end up with crooked molle strips ! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

    What have you made?

Three words Tackle that simply sums it up β€œBored in Lockdown” Time wise : it isn’t taking that much time actually stitching it but it’s taken a wee while getting amongst it and the plus side of it is that it will actually fit me perfectly with adjustable options. Cost wise: since I bought most of the materials over the whole of lockdown this last year and mostly in β€œsales” I think I’ve spent like Β£100-ish on all those materials and I have enough to make another bandoleer or a full plate carrier, a couple of ghillie tops/hoods/gun wraps for my rifles which was the original idea but the reverse bandoleer has kinda taken over my first project

    What have you made?

@TheFull9 Cheers matey, I thought as much but I’ve seen on tinterweb some plate carriers that don’t have a gap between the strips - not counting the laser cut panels - cuts down on the crafting by a third \o/

  18. not so much a dreamer post, but a thing i noticed on an ad and it's not really worth making a new topic: why oh why g&g did you make the best airsoft mg42 on the market, a true work of art, then ruin it by stamping "made in taiwan" in massive fuckin letters on the side i'm not the worlds biggest markings freak but there are some lines that should not be crossed......

    THE TM MWS thread

There are a few versions of the HAO one. If you are a lightweight snowflake like myself, then go for the 'airsoft' version, which weighs about the same as the Angry G at 231grams but better made and closer to RS spec in terms of dimensions. However, if you are a true SAS warrior, then go for the 'hardcore' version (their words ) at 505 grams. The thing is: any real suppressor will make a rifle front-heavy and mess with its weight balance that far forward. https://www.haoptwart.com/product-page/hao-s-556rc-dummy-pre-order There is also a HAO 'trainer' that looks a bit rubbish (open at the front) weighing 'the same as a real one' (again, their words) https://www.haoptwart.com/product-page/hao-s-sf-suppressor-trainers By the way, I bought their MWS bolt carrier and it is pretty but no better than the original. Probably shoots less well but it is pretty (did I mention that already ?) and has a reinforced back end so less wear? The old adage of " internals: japan, externals: taiwan" still seems to hold true. Have ordered the PTS ambi selector and will report back once installed. Only works with the matching flash hider as mentioned by Captain Darling

I would highly reccomend the G&P ambi selector (KAC Style) solid build with very little free play, and defined selection. https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/gp-ambi-safety-selector-for-marui-mws-gbb Out of stock at the moment via Fire Support but I'm sure you'll be able to get it somewhere else. πŸ‘

So having had my chrono arrive today I decided to test it before replacing a few bits. First chrono was around 230-240 FPS, and seeing as the rif is shooting a lot better than when I first got it im guessing it must have been sub 150 to begin with. Anyway, having double checked shims, replaced nozzle, piston, bucking and nub a quick re-lube, it is now consistent between 308-310 FPS. The air seal on the cylinder isn’t perfect and a bit of ptfe has been put in for now. But I think once I replace the cylinder head and possibly put a tight bore barrel in I could get it upto 330. However I’m happy where it is now and shall leave it be until I’ve used it a few times.

  32. That would be the difference between skirmishing and sports/target shooting The Skirmishing defence for RIFs is based on the immersion with realism, and succeeded in passing the test under the VCR Bill consultation, whereas for target shooting etc it’s the function and looks are less important

are you sure the cutoff is worn enough to be causing the overspin? reason i say is cutoff levers can be a right pain to replace, one of those parts that really highlights the "compatible-ish" nature of airsoft. the piston seal can be heath-robinsoned by stretching (or if your fancy replacing) just the piston o-ring (assuming the piston itself is in good nick), likewise ptfe tape (or doing it properly new o rings) on the cylinder head can sort that end. metal rack isn't guaranteed protection (and arguably a sacrificial plastic part can be good) but if the original is chewed up then might as well (you may need to glue the rack in yourself or it can get ripped out) i presume the spring guide replacement is to a bearing type? that is a worthwhile move as it means you can lighten the piston by not having a bearing in that end. spring i'd leave for now until you sort the airseal- could be perfectly good just the air loss is killing it. bucking/nub certainly a good option, ml macaron+autobot is my go-to combo these days. nozzle make sure to check the length, unfortunately not just the length can vary but also the internal diameter so if you're gonna change the head and nozzle try and get the same brand. mosfet wise, plenty of options for cheap and cheerful but i tend to like putting something like the nanoasr in as the wiring is identical to the higher end gate mosfets so you can easily swap to something like a warfet later down the line.

    THE TM MWS thread

Shop have said I can return it, plus given me the name and number of their GBBR guy to speak to. Purchased from FireSupport who are awesome and who I will use again (and again, and again!) Seems from the Facebook TM GBBR group this is a feature, not a bug. IE they all do this and people just accept it πŸ™„ Apparently the regular (non-marksman) sear is pretty good so may try that. The fit and finish on it is amazing, shame the double-bevel on the face gives this weird issue! HOME FIX: If you are happy taking the trigger box apart look for areas inside the shell where the trigger bar is rubbing due to torsion of off-set spring tension. Gently sand the corresponding area on the trigger bar to reduce the friction. Bonus points for sourcing 0.1mm steel shims for the hammer, trigger and sear posts to prevent torsion friction πŸ‘ EASIER TUNE: Under the "tail" of the semi auto sear (rear left of trigger box as you hold the lower reciever) place small squares of gaffer tape under this, stuck to the trigger box, to reduce the sear engagement with the hammer. Don't add too much and check that you can't accidentally trip it by cocking the gun then slapping it around like it owes you money 😁 You should end up with some nice smooth take up to a clearly defined wall then a shorter, crisp break. Total cost Β£0.03p.
