Trust me. It's all down to UPS and nothing to do with Brexit. They can't even move packages inland at the moment, never mind at the border, and they've suspended paying compensation to customers, such is the mess of their logistics. If you are brave enough just look at current online reviews (I particularly liked the one where someone sent a parcel from the East Midlands to the West Midlands and the delay was blamed on Brexit). Even Yodel and Hermes do better. However, in a development today UPS phoned me to ask me to complete their firearms declaration form. Just to reiterate this is not a Customs declaration form (Border Force do not require anything separate for RIFs) and this is despite the fact that TG explicitly added my UKARA membership details on the shipping notice and declaration. It's an unnecessary piece of additional bureaucracy, but who am I to argue as they've got my parcel, and if it helps their clearance team then it's worth doing. I think @EvilMonkee had a similar request a few days ago, which suggests they are working through the TG shipping container, but given no-one has reported receiving a parcel yet, I think delivery will be a while yet. Two other things. I emailed the UPS brokerage desk, just to politely enquire what was going on, which may have prompted the phone call today. Their address is: [email protected] I also emailed TG just to let them know that I was one of their UK customers whose parcel was stuck in Essex and that they might want to make enquiries with UPS as the retailer. This at least brings the problem to the attention of TG, who like many businesses are at the mercy of UPS.3 points

Toby C. was my manager, when we worked at Glaxo, Dave P. was my Practical Pistol Range Captain at Little Chalfont R&PC, Matt D remains one of my close friends and looks after my WA1911's. I have some of Terminal Boys guns when he retired, Steve P and John W still connected on Facebook. Think you can say Tech Brigade is still very much part of my life.2 points

Nice thanks. I'm actually half considering building a smartgun out of an MG42 and go the whole hog with a steadicam rig and everything. Just setup my new plate carrier; (Templar's Gear Crusader ROC) The big SAW pouch on the back of the belt is for my IR Claymore.2 points -
There's no right or wrong way, just what suits you & sometimes the situation/scenario will dictate what works best. as a young squaddie we were instructed to have our mag pouches (58 pattern) on our sides/hips, mainly because the "reaction to fire" taught was to drop to the prone position, obviously mag pouches on our front would have been inaccessible & also increased our target profile, not good. but as an old knackered airsofter, if I drop to the prone position, I ain't getting up, so I don't do it & therefore can justify having mags on my chest. end of the day we're just playing at it, whatever works, same goes for the rigs, for some players this is a glorified fashion show, much of what's worn & carried is unnecessary, but it looks the dogs bollocks lol 😏2 points

Indeed, the full length AK Front sights are pinned in. I have had to round out the flange with a dremel and tap for a screw much like the Cymas to get it straight. Pretty sure all enhanced selectors fit the E&L. I could only ever find them on the Continent or in Asia though.1 point -

I picked it up on etsy, I think it was labeled as some lara croft cosplay peice. I still need to figure out a better way to attach it to my hydro pouch - I pretty much had to cut holes in the side of the pouch and thread clips through and even use nuts and bolts to get it on and it looks terrible if you examine it: I was meaning to take it to a sewing shop before lockdown and see if they could sort something cleaner out for me. Any ideas, anyone? Edit: Got rid of the clips and used some velcro straps through some cut holes in the leather;1 point -
Hahahaha, regrettably I don’t think I ever spent more than 5 minutes at a time ‘ghillied up’ indoors (largely because the dog was not a fan of it at all). Generally just threw it on to make sizing adjustments and get my long suffering girlfriend to take some photos so I could check for halo screen/raffia coverage. And now the vast majority of my ‘leafy boy’ stuff has new homes. Throughout it all I’ve definitely found a additional use for chest rigs and plate carriers with ‘emergency doffing’ capabilities. It’s been a close shave with answering the door to delivery drivers in the full ensemble on a few occasions 😅.1 point

Hairdryer/heatgun to dry them off, work best with their own basecoats and will need a sealer/topcoat for durability.1 point

New ICS tubular hand guard for my ICS Peleador. I think I'm going with a civilian 3-gun-esque look with this one - need to add either a T1 style red dot on a riser or a short dot scope.1 point -
Agree it was predictable which is why there is no real issue with any other couriers. The got their plans and resourcing right. UPS however have messed this up big time. The requirements for import are now they same as for the rest of the world. Nothing they should not have been able to handle. This is a UPS issue.1 point

Do like looking alli with Gucci Kit When i joined it was the same belt kit all the way and always on the left hip as you could only fire the IW out the right shoulder. None of this ambidextrous snowflake bollocks 😝. But then mission specific came along and so did the increase in 1157 haha1 point -
That's a whole other problem as I'm right handed for rifles and left handed for pistols. I've decided to leave the sidearm problem until I've got some experience. The only things I'm sure of there is that it has to be a 1911 of some sort and I hate thigh/leg holsters.1 point

Magwells seem to be an issue for people running HPA taps or drum mags, most people just don't use them. If it's a small amount of material that needs to be removed, I'd say go ahead and dremel the crap out of it (magwell, wouldn't touch the adapter).1 point
-
That's the plan. I figure that if I get into a fire fight that uses more than 300 rounds I probably brought the wrong gun. I tried doubling up the mag pouches but didn't really like the bulky feel of them so thought I'd try it this way first. The first one on the right is fairy easy to reach anyway.1 point

So I have just spent 45 minutes on the phone to UPS to try to get the issue escalated and been told it is due to a Brexit issue and has been raised to their Brexit team in Poland. I should expect a call today. I smell BS. James1 point

The black belt and pouches are kit I already had. I'm trying really hard not to buy lots of stuff which I think might be useful until I've had a chance to try it out but there is so much temptation out there.😁 The belt is less than half the weight of what it used to be when loaded up with 12g mags.1 point

It seems that TG may have stopped selling to the UK for a while again until UPS/HMRC get themselves sorted out. The bulk of the problem is not due to UPS; it is due to those who prepared the "oven ready" deal not only forgetting to buy an oven but also not knowing what an oven is. Expect things to get a lot worse if the European Parliament does not ratify the deal due to the UK government unilaterally altering the Northern Ireland Protocol.1 point -

ZCI plastic rotary hop fitted to the G&G, grubscrews tightened, new stiffer spring on the hop unit. Brilliant service and price from AK2M4. Rifle shoots bob on again. No excuse for a new rifle now. Pondering a new shell and building a 12 tooth V2 box with a hi-torque motor. Easy enough to switch back to standard if I ever had to sell. Any recommendations gratefully received.1 point -
I bought the BMW (all matt black) but converted the Vmax... Got the trike cause I love riding with no helmet in the summer... obs helmet on if I'm going at speed or motorway or bad weather. Gun sleeves would have been fantastic on the BMW. 🤣 Have you ever ridden one? They look big until you sit on it.. then you realise how small they are... Heavy... but small... lol upgraded the brakes so with three wheels I now have three brakes... Stops much better 😇😇😇 Not that I would know what it goes like... Honest 😇😇😇 🤣🤣1 point

IPSC only officially recognises Action Air handgun as a discipline but some Action Air clubs do run 2 or 3 gun style shoots. If you search facebook for 'UKPSA Action Air' you'll find the people who do practical target shooting using airsoft guns. I'm not aware of any clubs that specifically run airsoft mini-rifle but I can't think of any reason it can't be done.1 point

Tell Us a Gag. Please!

So this butcher is in his shop working away when a dog, carrying a basket casually walks in and jumps up onto the counter. The butcher goes to shoo him away but before he can the dog points with his paw into the basket at a list for some meat. This gets the butchers attention, so he picks up the list and reads off the items which are followed by a note that reads ‘please can you put all this in the basket, the right money is in a pouch on the dogs collar’. Right on cue the dog lifts his head and points at a small pouch which as it turns out has the right money in it. Once all the bits were in the basket the dog nods his thanks and leaves with the basket in his mouth again. The butcher is stunned. If I could have a dog like that he thinks, it could do my deliveries, even perform on the stage! So he shuts up shop and follows the creature, during which time he sees him visit several other shops, have a pint at the pub and even use a zebra crossing, wow, thinks the butcher, this dog is something else! Then finally the dog arrives at a house, he opens the front gate and lets himself in with his paws and goes up to the front door and knocks waiting to be let in. Suddenly though the door flies open and a man appears, giving the dog a massive bollocking, calling him useless and dumb, the butcher, confused at this, runs up to them and exclaims ‘why are you bollocking this dog? The things I’ve seen him do, he’s amazing!’ ‘Amazing? fuck off!’ Laughs the man, ‘This is the third time he’s forgotten his keys this week!’1 point -
