I have bought some of this magic Bob heath anti fog so I will test it within my revision locusts like I have all the others I reviewed. I suspect it'll probably come somewhere in the middle, I am not expecting miracles but for £8 I'll try almost anything as the revision anti fog wipes get expensive rapidly (as do the fogtech ones) and I would very much like a cheaper and comparable solution.2 points -

Yeah that's a RIF right there, how the fuck any store thinks that's at least 50% I do not know. I can only presume they put the colour blind guy in the painting department. Shit like that is just another opportunity for the powers that be to say "look they're not following the law!" and clamp down even harder. What does being U18 have to do with two-tone anyway? Do you mean your parents, who presumably don't have VCRA defences, had to buy it?2 points -

Currently not working, but once I have a job I have plans to try a few things to fix it. This is Matilda my SMLE by Ironairsoft. It may not be the best sniper rifle available but it is by far the sexiest looking. It's gas powered and strips and functions like the real thing. The gas release valve on the mag blew up and they are discontinued so I cannot get parts but I will come up with something. I could either make a new magazine using different valves or maybe come up with some way of using small pistol mags. Oh and it can be fitted with an 18 inch long P1907 bayonet2 points -

That kind of stuff (MREs, toolkits, etc) I always carry in a rucksack/bag, you won't need them when you're out actually playing. If you're in a game where there's no breaks then normally you'll have a 'safe' harbour area or camp where you can leave stuff like food and tools. Carrying it all with you just adds to bulk and ounces turn into pounds...2 points -
Hi guys, Been watching Mythbusters and had to share a couple of things: 1 - really cool to see them using an airsoft support gun (sorry I'm new to this so don't know exactly what kind but it was big!) to set up a test rig for that final scene in Breaking Bad; 2 - they just re-tested the movie "myth" about firing a pistol (1911), emptying the mag and reloading - they originally had it as busted but this time brought in a competitive pistol champ - holy crap!!! This guy emptied 3 x 20 round mags in just under 17 seconds and blew a substantial hole in the target!!! If you haven't seen the latest episode check it out for an amazing example of how to handle a pistol. Very interesting to watch it back and notice that he pauses for about half a second mid mag to re-sight. Phil1 point

'Broken' is a big range of stuff though, could be a motor connector is loose, which isn't really broken, could be a blown fuse... Also not really broken. Ooor, it could be the motor is completely burned out which IS a broken gun, albeit an easy fix. It may be that he's sent a working gun that's been banged about in the post and something's come loose, if so fixing it shouldn't be a massive issue. Either way, the suggestion that plugging a battery in is the cause of it being broken is utterly ridiculous.1 point -

Revision locusts with a turbofan, then import their thermal lens as well. It is much better than the ess solution because it doesn't block the vertical vision so you can look down at your gear. Best turbofan solution I know of. But keep in mind I could not get glasses to work, I glazed the insert with polycarbonate with anti fog coating and I still had problems with the inner glass fogging with the fan going on max. So while I rated the locusts very highly I have personally gone for contacts as the glasses insert has not worked for me at all.1 point -
FSB Captain's Parade Overcoat - old style, ie same as Soviet era KGB. I have most of the insignia to convert it to KGB 3rd Chief Directorate to match my Afganka field uniform, just need to order some collar tabs with gold braid edging. It is sized too small for me (size 50-4), but the actual dimensions are big enough for a smaller bloke to wear a full parade uniform consisting of a base layer under a shirt and jacket while lurking outside The Kremlin for hours on end in the Russian winter, so over a couple of thin layers it ought to do me just fine in the UK... £70 posted from the Russian Federation by my old e-mucker platinum_2011 on fleabay - urrrrrra! Edit: weyhey! $17.50 posted1 point

Yep, you're completely fine doing that. Just make sure they know that you've painted it as ex-2-tone stuff generally has less value to people given the finish being not as good as one that wasn't initially a bright colour. Legally though there's no issue at all as you turned those into RIFs (by spraying them) when you had a valid defence.1 point

Sure, thank you. So far I've got a dual M4 mag pouch and a 3L Source pack. Still looking for a larger pouch to fit a MRE, a larger mag pouch and smaller ones for tools, backup mags and other knick knacks. Next OP is at the end of this month, I'd like to be ready by then. You guys have been most hospitable, thank you!1 point

M14 Not Feeding... Still! (Video to show problem)
Reece_Spurs reacted to proffrink for a topic
Yeh, you're probably correct but if the mag is also not seating high enough then it becomes an issue that only shimming/getting a new mag catch can do. I went through all of this with my G&P WOC when I was fitting the new GHK mags. Bit of a farce, and initially I just sanded down and shimmed the mag well where required. Ultimately it look a new catch. Again though, as you say, the catch was less obtrusive as it is in an M14. As you say, with the M14 the catch is to the rear so that makes me think this thing is at the wrong angle rather than being too far forward or backward which a shim isn't going to help with. Reece, can you try and get a more accurate idea of how the magazine isn't seated correctly? Too far forward/backwards or whether it needs pushing up and forwards for example? From the video it actually looks like you're pushing it forward and upwards (i.e. rotating it), which a shim isn't going to help much with given the way that M14 magazines insert. Edit ...unless you're very careful about it. I'd recommend perhaps shimming with epoxy than sanding it so that it's flush at the very bottom of the mag well and not at the top (basically a slight incline/wedge). That way it won't obstruct reloads. You're looking at a fair bit of work though.1 point -

My newest guns, and the three I'll be using the most throughout NAE later this month. Top one is a CYMA AK, I added a rail system, which required some "dremelling" to get it to work, (I guess it was designed for a AK47, not a 74 style front end..?) The Middle one is a Black FNX-45 Tactical, just got this today, really awesome kick on it, got it for £115 on Airsoft-worlds new auction thingy. considering their "sale" price is £150, not too shabby for a brand new pistol. Bottom is my ICS L85, got an Elcan for it, currently It's got a G36k flash hider on it because the pistol took all of my money and made me poor lol.1 point
