  4. How did the dude get to be squad leader? Doesn't seem like he was promoted based on ability... Unfortunately the idea of skirmishing being a smooth running military op seems an impossible dream, unless you had to prove your athletic/tactical/shooting abilities to play it first. At least it's not a giant stag-do like paintball.

  5. I joinded a squad on a milsim game. We saw two enemy squads and they saw us too. They took cover in bushes and ditches. Then the sqad leader ordered us to do a frontal attack. This was our "cover". I couldn't believe it so I took a photo while staying behind. Another disappointment is skirmishing in the UK. It's just paintballing with airsoft guns.

    Washing bb's

I guess a lot of people don't realise that BBs are actually polished, and they come with a slight waxy coating. One of the reasons this is done is to avoid the plastic of the BBs being laid down into the inner barrel and slowly destroying the surface. Snipers don't fire many rounds so they can get away with the residue problem and just clean their weapons barrel often enough that it likely never becomes an issue. However an AEG can fire a lot of rounds in a day and end up laying down a sufficient amount of melted plastic such that it doesn't come off. The waxy coating has two impacts, it gets left behind in the barrel and needs regular cleaning and it reduces the effect of the hop rubber on the BB as it slides past. But compared to having melted plastic in your barrel its a better option.

  9. Alternatively, WE thought of a great way to resolve the issue... Fill the mags with gas and join us on the dark side

    Marshals

As others have said marshaling really makes the difference. Biggest gripes for me are if they are blatantly not paying attention to a firefight right in front(once had two marshals chatting whilst two players very close to them wouldn't take their hits for instance) of them or think they can shout at you for minor infringements. I'd heard people going on about how the marshals at Bluestreak get you to do press ups. Turns out they do it only to people who had mags in their gun in the safe zone or went into the game area without eye pro. It's all done in jest but hopefully the safety aspect sticks with people. I still think more sites need to test shoot people though as standing right next to a load of players just tells any would be cheat to pack it in till they move on. The amount of times a player who possibly wasn't taking hits and lo and behold with a marshal within earshot suddenly does is considerable.

And I still need the help of my tiny weak girlfriend to close the gear box in my g63, no matter how many times I've had it apart 😂 Do the people who make them in the factory have 2 normal size man hands and another 2 pair the size of a small girl !

  27. It can if it is poorly engineered and made. You can use 2 thinner plies one at 90 deg and one at 45 deg and when cooked under pressure they fuse and it can double the strength compared to one single thicker ply. It will be more than durable enough, we make car doors which have passed crash tests and are on the roads now lol. I personally would not have a carbon gun unless I wanted it super lightweight and then I would paint it. But there are those who love it and would have one if engineered right. You did make me laugh with the saxo comment lol!

  28. Capture the flag game 2 guys pinning us down, 1 guy taken out the other behind hard cover. As I move forward firing short burst to keep his head down, I'm within steps of getting the flag, I take cover to change mags & look to my rear to find everyone just standing about 30 ft away doing f**k all & at that point I get hit, happened twice that day where I start to push forward with no back up grrrrr

  29. Expecting my belt rig without its harness to work as well on site as it did when I was clearing room to room in my house. It kept falling down every 5 steps, sagging and smacking me in the arse . It ended up taking the trouser button off my BDU's so they kept falling down. So I was totally immobile beyond maybe 10 steps at a time, I was frustrated and sweating so my goggles obviously fogged up and I couldn't see f*ck all through the tiny peephole on the m14 iron sights which was a bit naff because it was the first time I'd used it so I wasn't much use. Just stood there getting shot a lot lol

  32. Consider the TM G18 too, could be more fun, but probably less practical. TM made the original designs for many airsoft guns, and when other's copy them, they get the balance 'off' by changing materials and other aspects of the systems, TM guns are worth the money, unless the cheaper guns have something specific you desire - other than being cheaper.

  36. http://www.ebairsoft.com/maritime-helmet-tb815-p-7424.html This would be a very wise choice as a starting helmet - obviously a FAST-styled one so relatively simple and doesn't require much money putting into unlike my TMC AirFrame in which I've had to invest money on a real-deal retention system due to comfort issues. Also, looks (and probably feels, due to being FMA) pretty damn close to the real Ops-Core for the price.

  37. Conversely, my best at the Mall went unfilmed. Came up the back stairs that are always lit red (regulars know where I mean) turned left into Salisburys to clear it - no one there. Now I knew my mates were still at the bottom of the stairs. I heard activity in the corridor came back out into the long corridor at the back of the store. 7-8 enemy. I literally walked up to each of them point blank and shot them with my pistol as they all thought I was a friendly. One bloke even shouting 'Will someone shoot this fucker!!" Brilliant.

  38. I found an allen key inside a tub of butter once, guess it's similar dimensions to the tub i put my airsoft tools in, but still a big autopilot failure as was in the fridge. The best autopilot failure i ever saw was someone who'd passed out drunk an hour or so earlier stagger down-stairs, walk into the kitchen and up to a chair, tilt the chair back on two legs, piss on the floor underneath it, tilt the chair back to standing and then stagger back upstairs (unwoken by the cries of WTF from housemates) I found a single pink high-heal shoe in a corner at The Mall once. I asked if there'd been anyone wearing them as a joke, or one worn at a zombie event or similar and marshals said they couldn't remember a single time someone had worn heals there and certainly not recently. (my guess therefor it being a lucky charm or left by someone who broke in to explore/whore/inject the night before) A friend of mine found a rusted dagger on the bank of the Rhine in Berlin when we were kids, on inspection a decade or so later it turned out to be one of the more ornate/original ones dished out to the first batch of Hitler youth/SS, rather than the plainer ones handed out en mass. Was either where some Nazi met his end, accidentally dropped or decided it wasn't best to appear a dedicated Nazi anymore and chucked it in. Same friend also found his long lost first airsoft pistol buried in his parents garden. Turned out his mum had thought it was a real gun due to looking nothing like his airgun pistol and had 'disposed' of it to protect him.

  39. I genuinely wash mine, well the ones used in my sniper only. I have a 5 stage process that has been refined from the data on the sniper forums, in an AEG it's probably pointless because of the number of variables already in play. However I clean the barrels of my pistols and AEG's every game day, mags are stripped and cleaned about every 4th or 5th game day, unless they get particularly dirty somewhere like the sandpit perhaps. The point of the sniper setup is to remove as much variation as possible. There is a release agent and dust from production on the bbs, the release agent causes variations in the pressure and back spin applied by the hop. Dust and release agent can cause patches within the barrel that might have an impact on the flight of the bb. The sniper forums are very details orientated, and results are published, evidence is targets with 10 or so shots, and variables are tested fairly scientifically, clean barrel + unwashed bbs, Dirty barrel + unwashed bbs, clean barrel + washed bbs. The difference in groupings was fairly clear in my eyes. Someone even tested different washing techniques. My process (which is probably overkill and unnecessary, but it makes me feel better, and mistakes with shots are my fault not the kit) Step 1, hot water and fairy liquid. 5min soak, then swirling, drain. Step 2, diet lemonade (cheap and nasty works fine), this is for the acids. 5min soak, then swirl, drain. Step 3, hot water and fairy liquid, swirl. Step 4, rinse in cold water Step 5, dry on a clean baking tray, on a windowsill in the sun as quickly as possible, store in washed 500ml coke bottles.

  41. This wasn't me, but we had just started a round and there was quite a steep and long slope down from our ridge to the playing area, and it had rained all night. This un-slender chap starts going down, and towards the top slips and lands with a massive thud on his back side and slips down about half a metre. But rather than face the indignity of trying to get up on a slippy slope with nothing to hold, he paused, started using his feet, and tobogganed on his rear-end down the remaining 10 metres or so yelling "banzai!" Suffice to say, he styled out of his fall like a pro in my opinion.

  46. The whole "dead men don't talk" rule... I agree with it 100% but no-one seems to follow it to the tee! Just because people aren't "moving their mouth" doesn't mean you can continue to bloody use your hands and point, using flash lights, nodding/shaking their head or start doing the god damn YMCA!

  47. Magnified sights are for snipers and posers. Red dot sights don't always turn themselves off when you put your gun away. Red dot sights will sometimes turn themselves off just before you REALLY need to aim at something. Some people have no sense of fun.
